I think it's the fact that knowing there'll be a guaranteed 100% ammo refill later on enables people to use way more ammo than they should

Just got into cataclysm recently and I think the 20% ammo on elite or Specialist whatever there will feed me ammo like crazy

I like the idea it still encourages you conserve ammo cause trust me it’s stupid when a veteran can literally never play melee

But it’s also stupid when your build is insanely good at shutting down specials but you have at most 11 bullets

Is like using DS4 for a brrrrrrrr fast fire gun. It needs literally no talents to work.

Point hungry weapons are those that require a lot of talent tree investment to make that particular weapon work.
Bolt pistol is another example.
There are some weapons that work if you had no talent points (like plasma) so what path is saying is mixing two talent hungry weapons together might cause an overall less effective build, not that it matters too much if you're having fun

And bolt pistol can just be used to buff 'nades if you wanna just melee/'nade build.

Well it's a strange interaction. Bolt pistol's lethal proximity blessing increases the explosion size of the bolt pistols bullets, this effect also works on grenades
