#veteran-class

At least in the past
Hehe
...The latest game I played on Vet was actually an Auric Maelstrom with Executioner's Stance
But I was running recon
I think I'm a shockingly good vet considering I'm bad at everything a vet should be good at
Teehee
What's the Ia?
VII
Tzeenzchian corruption
Gotta be
Ia is so perfect
That means it's like... the lasgun
This is the gun the guard uses
i love infantry lasgun
i hate lasgun ammo counter
infantry lasgun hates mice
RIP my corsair glaive
Gameplay reasons
recon the light toy gun
Also lasguns beam has some serious energy in it
At least we have 2 wounds I guess
And physics work unless youre in the warp
Plus one wound curio
Warhammer meta will crash if guardsmen get TWO WOUNDS
Catachan laugh at you
Wot
Army of rambos or something
Remember devil claws are catachan knives
But rest calls them swords
Some aussie logic
Yeah
Catachan is space australia placed in amazon rainforest
But cranked to 50000000
and super high gravity which is why they're all super tall because they're just that badass
tbf devil claws are the BIGGESt knives the catachan has
Skipping revives on bound teammates counts as death
acceptable losses
True, only ~ 300 point value worth of troops
We can use reinforce to get them back
Ogryns, Psykers, and Zealots on the otherhand are much more expensive
Remember guard in 5e having that Valhallan commander that allowed you to put any eliminated conscript squad back on the board for free? It was dogshit but they had the right spirit
Necromancy
Veteran players, i pulled a 80/80/80/60 (charge rate)/80 plasma gun, is there any reason not to build it vs trying to roll the 69% thermal and 71% charge rate version if i dont have millions spare
You'll be fine
maybe later when you'll have more money you could roll for an other one
but really, you'lle be absolutely fine for the time being
its like 0.1sec difference or something in charge so i figured probably fine for now, im only just entering auric and normal dam maelstroms
You'll be fine
That's fine. A lot of people go for this. I usually recommend people to get a 70/70 because they're less uncommon than the elusive 69/71
The reason 69 is the desired number is because you do not gain any extra shots over 69
Every point over 69 thermal eff. is effectively not utilised as all as other stats
thats good to know, thank you
Better yet
don't get a plasma and wait for fatshark to fix this mess
so you don't have to deal with decimal bs
Yea the differences you get for being an absolute min maxxer isnt really important
So on the Lucius pattern guns, is a higher charge rate a quicker one or a slower one?
Higher charge is quicker
Gotcha.
All stats are "number go up is good" unless you have some fixation on playing around with psyker warp resistance and plasma gun thermal resistance
Defs not. I just actually asked on the psyker channel how I can level one to 30 for the achievement and call it good. Same with knife builds. I just don't like playing those.
Dump stat on lucius is stability (gun doesnt kick for its use case) and ammo (gun is incredibly ammo efficient)
I made charge mine. I like doing well placed and measured shots.
Once you start getting a feel for them all these guns can really cater to the individual player. Especially now that we can swap between marks!
I pulled a second 69/71 only for it to be converted to a 70/70 again
I hate decimals
I hate decimals
I hate decimals
Just remember if you have a lot of melk coin you can buy yellows
to get more dockets to gamble
I dont want to waste melk coins in case they eventually make them useful
I have reverse sunk cost fallacy
Me hoarding Melk bucks but forgot how you spend them
Rate the tree
Beautiful and useless 🙂

I just passed out
average quickplay vet
just throw in perma mag dumping plasma/bolter and scooping all the ammo
Is the revive on VoC worth taking in any build anyway?
nooooooooooo
the problem with revive shout in v2 was always that "taking the thp and using it before someone goes down is always better" and that's also true here
I have never seen anybody use it
True
like lowk even if revive shout didn't increase cooldown I still wouldn't take it
it's just a grief way to use shout
and most of the time the stagger/stun from shout gives you enough time to rez
There are a few niché uses, but nothing that inexperienced users need to worry about
What little uses it has comes from being able to revive through walls or when you can't get on the victims ledge or something
Does born leader still give your team toughness even if yours is full?
Yep
Just use a Poxburster explosion to jump up the ledge
Barrel surfing
which power sword is the more popular mark?
i think mk6?
I might be recalling wrong since I don't run PS but i'm pretty sure it's mk6
it is kinda just a light attack machine though
why am I jumping instead of dodging so much as specifically veteran?
do they have dogwater dodge eff?
it'd explain so much
It is recommended to bind jumping to a different key... But I never did myself
I'm fairly certain I've completed "make every shot count" several times, wish I could see my accuracy stat at the end of the mission
I recommend binding jump separately to dodge. Many people use alt to jump and space to dodge only
I use alt to crouch so I use ctrl to jump
You very rarely jump in DT so it's worth doing
vet's dodge cooldown is longer than the other two human classes so the timings will be off
but yeah, do the keybinding thing that they're suggesting
rate this mess
its actually worse than my builds
It's got iron will so it's automatically viable
how do peopole post the full tree like that anwyays
Just zoom out and take a snippet
could use more cowbell/10
Remember! it's the skills that carry, not the weapons
Related thought, crushers should wear cowbells
10 pickups
this is pretty much what I use https://darktide.gameslantern.com/builds/9d94f88d-bf6b-47ab-a847-1d2be0c39fcf/dirtyman
not meta by any means
whats with people taking survivalist
could probably get rid of grenadier for iron will and superiority complex but I like the extra nade a lot
it's really not that worth it
Is there much point in having power sword with agile engage + Weapon spec?
I find it's a relatively good team wide buff, especially if 2 veterans have it stacked
on it's own for just the player it's pretty meh yes
I don't think it stacks
thing is you can have psyker with not needing ammo
I don't think it stacks either way
it's only 1% over 5 second cooldown
damage would be way better because everyone has a melee and you don't really use guns agaisnt hordes
and I do feel like it'd be better to go fire team because if you're going voice of command
you'd keep some points
5% damage affects like zero breakpoints
good point
still feel like 1% ammo over 5 second cooldown will not change much
I think it adds up
maybe I'm just too trigger happy, never felt like survivalist ever helped me in the instance it procs
and if it does, it's usually another veteran
I still think that's better than 5% damage that 99% of the time won't change your shots to kill
Survivalist is really nice for ammo hungry builds
survivalist with an ammo hungry ogryn team helps
ironically recon lasgun with shock trooper I find myself not needing it
yes like recon lasgun, it really doesnt need it
considering how much ammo you get back from ammo boxes
and shock trooper saves taht ammo
most fun build just ammo dumping
Survivalist also "stacks" in the sense that only one survivalist goes on cooldown when triggered so the next survivalist can trigger on the next kill if the first one is still on cooldown
I dont understand, is that party wide or per Vet?
I thought only the vet themself triggers it
you and allies
so wouldn't 2 vets trigger their own cooldowns and provide ammo team wide?
so its anyone who kills within the aura
anyone in coherency
ah ok
still hard to argue that using a point to go +5% reload speed to get to voice of command
when I could use that point for maybe smth better
unironically
I think field improv is better spent
than survivalist
Field improv is great but not comparable to survivalist
They give you two very different things
you could use that point to pick it up though
I'd just drop chink in their armor at that point
10% conditional rending isn't gonna do shit
Idk, I just feel like Survivalist is the only aura that is actually noticeable for Vet to have. It also enables you to take Get back in the fight which I value a lot
For me it's either ammo or movespeed aura
Just go through whatever is the cheapest aura, only go to other auras if you know you really need it. Like 5% damage to reach certain breakpoints
Or no ammo maelstrom
5% movespeed is always more for agile engagement
5% MS aura tax is for weapon specialist fun
Mobility isn’t that good in normal pub aurics, teammates won’t make use of it and most of the time all the enemies are coming to you, not vice versa
For true duos/true solos, sure
Or speedrunning premades
My teammates might not use it but I will
laspistol seems to comically large
Until you have to clutch. But yeah, you gain nothing by leaving the pubs behind.
What are the best blessings for las pistol?
You did say that concentrated fire is bad? @tall torrent
thinking dum-dum + desperado
i mean his name literally informs you to look up the guide
Personally, the Laspistol wants that crit + shocktrooper
could get some silly amount of shots without reloading
shame they tweaked the rate of fire
I find my build is very good at not getting to the point of clutching
I do not ask him ab out blessings, i ask him about conc fire being bad
Weapon specialist helps make the shit mobility of the p-sword/chainaxe bearable
Bistol nader, throw frags constantly, pick off specials and elites
What a round about way of saying your build sucks so much you always die first

That’s an odd assumption
I just don’t die
What weapon spec has to do with mobility?
I am kiddddding
Hi kidding i’m autistic
Nice to meet you
reeee i want needle pistol
It has hidden buffs to dodge distance and refresh IIRC
Sometimes you just cannot save the 2 or 3 low levels trying auric...
Not hidden. It gives 10% dodge speed and distance
Is there an actualy dodge refresh buff tied to it?
probably thinking of ij
Yes
I mean, this is probably my highest winrate build, especially if i swap shovel for knife or duelist sword
It is ridic consistent and throwing nades at every problem with the amount of auric elites
Yeah IJ has hidden buffs. It's clearly mentioned for ws
duelling sword is so op it's not even funny
Gimme the build I wanna
who thought it was good idea to give it to any other class
Use 5 or 2. Be a hipster
Is headhunter any good?
Finally got on overwatch completed lets go
the weapon
Bad against maniacs
grats, took me a while as well
yea took me a hot minute to get but finally got it so i don't need to worry anymore
now to do every other penance
It’s honestly hilarious how strong vet is with it
Well, bad news, there's the Untouchable one also
yep gotta focus on armourbane lmao
almost done with every veteran penance as well
still trying to find out what IJ is an abbreviation of
then it's just finishing 100 missions
On Overwatch is not taking any melee damage, Untouchable is not taking damage. At all (on health still).
Run all the grenade regin possible. It helps
I’m getting mad because I keep thinking I did the 90% accuracy penance and I never get it. Idk what I’m missing
run the revolver, use all ammo and then just focus melee
i got most of my vet specific penances done as of now besides the ability ones i believe
and don't take survivalist lol
Or plasma
oh i wanna do that as well
you can take survivalist
you shouldn't imo
I did that with boltgun and still didn’t get it. I swear up and down I landed my shots I don’t get it
i used a shotgun and it worked first time
you need to have no ammo
double barrel
cause I was lazy and I didn't want to change my build lmao
I guess I can’t miss with a double barrel
should have no ammo remaining, so 0/0 no?
Exactly
I had 16 bullets at the end because of survivalist, but since I didn't switch, it counted
yeah and aim down sights shoots both shells so you use twice the rounds for the same accuracy percentage
Good idea I’m going to try after work
i'm going to make a gameslanter post
you should first try with it and i got it
But yeah ofc survivalist is useless in that case
tho you never know if you're gonna end up with an other vet in your game running it. Just know that it doesn't affect the penance
just dont use your ability lmao
Man my inner Old Man is fist shaking at the clouds and croaking about "back in my day when penances were brutal" the no hit run being so close but getting chipped by a dog with a hit box the size of an ogryn that jumped by to get your buddy
i have 2 identical builds besides one goes survivalist and oned oesn't
so i can swap in lobby to the dmaage one if another vet has ammo aura
No
I am settling for this then
Unless you absolutely, Really, REALLY, need to min max the gun
I probably don't
If a minmax screecher is gonna yell at you you can always claim "woops, mixed up the numbers hehe" so this is perfect
All good then
That's genius hahaha
you clearly have not seen zealot
because zealot with DS probably the strongest thing there is in the game currently
it is still very very good on veteran
it was really good on psyker
Vet actually has an easier time hitting breakpoints with it than Zealot
Ds is arguably better on vet
^
@radiant chasm what's your opinion on the talents that give you toughness or stamina back with ws? I used them with exec stance
Still boring tho
man the amount of people who dont seem to get you need to GO GO GO on rolling steel in auric is too damn high
i don't use either
I don't like rolling steel
Tox bombers make some sections pretty much impossible without shield/vet shout
Rolling still with a good team is a blast and nice rush of adrenaline
stopping to shoot singular shotgunners on some platform instead of jus trunning past
true enough
Ya people got to used to playing auric hypersafe. You got to sprint the whole mission
some kind of dish?
I think the only sub-talent for ws that is worth it is the ammo one
good team?
It's my rock band name
you mean auric storm players that leave within 1 second of being downed
The salt is real
I mean leavers do be annoying
The trash is taking itself out
I just hate that you get a substitute bot
Just have the bot spawn downed please
It's gonna be so fun after the patch, seeing leavers joining again and being downed as a result
Saaame
Same but it does feel a bit cheesy
Cause that is lame to me. I hate "saving" a run we should have lost due to a bot clutching a revive
I like it when the fresh bot is immediately replaced with a fresh backfill
It always feels cheap and not rewarding but I don't leave teammates who keep playing behind so it is what it is
and I'm not a fan of ppl leaving when I'm clutching. First, trust me (I probably won't survive but still), and, well, I don't want a bot "helping" me
"DON'T WORRY I GOT THIS" I say in vc as I am being chased by 15 crushers and 2 BoN as gunker without ammo
hahahahaha
I used to think Chaos Spawn are the most annoying boss but I think the beast even changed my mind
At least you can kill Chaos Spawn rather quickly
It was like, 2 days ago I had to clutch on my vet, there was a boss, cruchers, ragers etc, lot's of thing. Dude in chat kept telling me "rez us"
dude
buzy atm
Bon's are just a constant pressure that is super hard to take out if you have other stuff to do
OOOOH
Devblog time
anyone remember what the name of the mod that fixes weapon switch is called? I've finally had enough of darktide's shit servers not registering my key presses...
"I’ve noticed Veterans haven’t received a weapon this patch. Will we be left hungry?
Veterans won’t be left out for too long.
They’ll be receiving more next year."

bistol one shots all human elites and specialists besides mauler and mutant
"next year"
So, like April?
Yeah, I ain't installing again
oh god 2024 is almost done
Absolutely fucking obliterated 🚬
the veteran that runs off to continue pulling future hordes instead of helping with the boss
im going to fucking cry
yea
drops all stacks on non-weakspot hit or missed shot
Don't worry, Vet mains upset about no new toys will be getting a complimentary weapon this patch:
perfect weapon for veteran-crybaby class
It has a secret voiceline for VoC, "WHERE NEW WEAPON"
veteran should get a kolibri pistol
I'm fine waiting

I'll play with the new toys on zealot and psyker anyway
aren't you also vet main?
Volkite pistol when
also dumdum ghost and desperado are just really damn good
Is been I think more than a year since Catfish said we deserved a Hellgun as a treat 😔
Can't have kark on the Imperium
id rather get a melta before a helgun
don't worry guys we will get something next year
recon currently fits the helgun role for the time being

I don't know much about human shovels but doesn't the Mk1 have a really good push attack?
It’s ok
I should specify, high damage vs armor push attack
Comparatively to the rest of the weapon anyway
It’s ok

Timeskip December 2025¨
the way i just know they said that and meant it literally. D:
it's certainly not going to be very quickly into 2025, also I can't wait for it to be like some stupid mundane bullshit again after zealot and psyker got interesting 40k shit for once
autogun #37 that is strictly worse than columnus 😄
yeah there are a lot of things that would fit vet they could add, but also what if they just added a new autogun or headhunter autogun pistol
Small pickaxe
I didn't expect a good excuse for vets not getting a weapon but I did expect some kind of excuse
Womp womp
oh I think ogryn needs like
at least two more melee and ranged for sure
and psyker needs fucking staves
I just recenttly 30'd all the other classes and the ogryn needs way more like you guys are saying
They literally said “we will elaborate on this in a future dev blog” just to say “yeah nah you guys getting nothing rn lmao”
that is so funny
This whole time I was like well, at least we will share the power sword
Lmfao
yeah the relic sword not being shared between zealot and vet is at least a little bit weird if vet isn't getting anything
Vet has the best weapon variety in the game, let the others eat
Meanwhile Ogryn is suffering with Paul
same same, but different
ogryn really really needs like a power fist or power claw
so many ogryn melee seem like garbage
maybe the mk4 krourk and pickaxe are the best ones I think, everything else is kinda mid
Like yeah I know, I'm super disappointed or anything but they kept saying we'll elaborate in upcoming blog which turned out to be literally nothing
Cause they are, comparatively
Shield and pickaxes are so much better than the others it's not even funny
the folding shovel is okay to use also
but the other 3 are uh basically worthless in comparison
It's just exceptionally outclassed by the branx
Higher damage without the animation lock

I can live for a few months without a weapon
Such is the penance for playing the coolest class in the game
it just seems weird when they were making more weapons available to everyone in the last patch and then nope more exclusives
can't wait to get a new vet weapon and it's just super mid
I just want more actual 40k shit which at least this next patch will have
huh
that new
or being added?
thats the two handed force sword
Tbf people have been asking for hellgun or longlas since the game came out.
that will be out with the next update
we'll get long las and the revolver is still just better
only for pyskers right

yeah I think longlas just won't fit because it will just be worse than the revolver/bolter/plasma
only psykers can use force weapons so yes
can it be used on other weapons that pysker can equip or is it exclusive to force sword
so far zealot is the only one with 2h weapons, yeah?
Both is good I want both.
I was worried with secrets of the machine god we'd only get shared weapons from now on.
i mean i guess aside from psyker getting great fs
Ogryn has Pickaxes.
zealots get a banging 2h power sword
vets get NOTHING
Veteran already has some of the best weapons
look forward to the new vet weapon, when they bring the human power maul to psyker and vet early next year
hey as long as psyker's don't get more staff powercreep I'm happy
Now ya know how it is to be an ogryn for half the updates smh
This is why i don't play vet or ogryn
Or psyker or zealot actually i don't have any free time to play anymore
😢
Salty vet tears are very nutritious
I don't think anyone is crying about it here, we'll be salty when the next weapons are out and vet gets something boring though
boo this guy
i kinda prefer rashad at this point
yes we all know it's busted, a lot of us will find it super boring to use though
I prefer rashad or the power swords
like it's still ez mode
rashad is fun
power swords are boring
I'd say devil's claw is also undervalued
special action > light attack 3 times > loop forever
ds has better single target and safety but rashad is better at everything else
big overheard slash > poky poke poke
Ds5>ds4, I agree
2 dodge stats is better than 1
idk I guess ds has better stagger too bc of the special poke
but rashad horde clear and mixed horde is leagues above ds
lol nah
lol ye
that we do agree
rashad has a higher skill ceiling
I think veteran needs more melee weapon variety ngl
ds4 you can just afk wins
it's like using 1887 akimbos
Rashad deals a bit more dmg overall, but ds is far far easier to use and is much more mobile and survivable
I don’t mean new weapons, I want older weapons to be better
I think vet has good variety in choice they just need to make the chain weapons not feel like shit to actually rev
and etc
path gets it
im waiting for a plasma shotgun of some variant but for now im content with vets db
how is a chainsaw sword so garbage lmao
Chainsaws are not very good for cutting through armor or meat 40k only has them because rule of cool is a rule of physics in-canon
problem with chain weapons is that you have to really pick between the chain aspect or the weapon aspect, and it just never quite works out
I think the way they did the special action just sucks on them
Vets on 12:00am, January 2nd, 2025
I don’t think chsword is garbage i think its just been power crept
It’s still a great chaff clearer
And rev’d attacks are much better now than at launch
"kills trash" isn't a real role
Is there some secret strat to the Rashad? Have tried several builds and it always feels akin to swinging dark souls axes
I mean, if it is the fastest trash killer, that is something
look at how it's set up in the guide in the pins, follow that. then spam lmb and profit
And besides power sword which is just better than it sadly
I got slower clear vs 50 pox compared to Rashad
I never got similar results to exhil’s numbers
Maybe rashad and ds aren't good points of comparison
Lets do combat blade comparisons
Hang on time to take out the Bonkinator
I don’t think if something is below the meta it makes it bad
It has to be like shredder or prebuff crusher
To be bad
I wish there was something half as good as Rashad but there kind of just isn’t
heavy sword is off-meta
I just think if something is basically only good at killing trash that it's objectively bad
chainsword is actually straight bad
Its not lol
you're coping
It's not good
The issue is power creep not that itself is weak
Idk what "bad" constitutes here
More bruisers, more elites, at the same time
I was trying Antax and I realized smth that always throws me off about that axe
"outclassed in every metric by other weapons"
Chsword falls off
power sword
Go compare it it shit like non-mk4 cleaver
Rashad > Antax
I know

Antax has a bunch of cool things going on and I wanted to try it
i hope they make d.claw better. the parry is so cool but it's just so hard to justify taking with how little damage it does
Then I realized nobody ever talked about the light atk cancel property
Antax at release was good because Rashad was busted and didn’t prioritize headshots
yes dclaw buff when
I Never do light attack cancels so I don’t know benefits from them
My experience leveling chsword 1-20 mastery is that it’s a completely fine weapon that gets me killstreak responses from teammates
Cheese
It’s main weakness is just multiple elites
its main weakness is when you need to kill anything besides trash
Which is bad for the meta
BEANS
replacement teeth for the chainsaw maybe
It kills bruisers fine it just falls off compared to other weapons
replacement bag straps
Some weapons dont have good horde clear but they dont get stuck on dense bruiser packs either
Like mk4 chainaxe
Genius
yeah i mean chaxe is better than chsword but that's clearing a low bar
I think chsword is one good buff away from being a great choice
Because of it’s crit interaction
this is what I meant with light atk cancel into PA
Antax has to wait for the whole light atk animation to finish to be able to PA
(Chsword crit damage doesn’t fall off as it cleaves)
if they ever make the special action not feel like utter dogshit to use or just make it a slower swing that does bleed+ extra rending or something it might easily become great
So getting into the weapon spec side of the tree i felt pretty good with it ngl
trash clearing will never be a niche worth specializing in
I dont think the special action is dogshit
Like it was
like even the flamethrower shit has the upside of clearing the trash out of mixed hordes
oh it's better, but it's still dogshit
but csword can't even do that
Would a buff not fix that lol
it's a bad animation lock to do less damage than even non meta weapons on most targets you would want to use it on
Like any size able buff it’s going to start mulching bruisers
I think chainsword needs a good single target moveset outside of rev attack
And probably better stagger (?) to fight ragers
I think chain weapons and their rev attacks inadvertently suffer from the sheer volume of enemies in higher difficulties
Yea i will say i am slightly biased
channeled melee attacks are a meme yeah
Being the chaxe mk4 main
Getting a rev 1hko on something like a rager doesn't matter when there's 10 of them
And that doesn’t use rev’d heavies often since the light spam does similar dos safer
at least long charged pickaxe or something as the advantage of like, not self stunning you during the chargeup
Should be like shovel or something, the damage is all backloaded
When it should be frontloaded or constant
could bump up the damage on the overheads
So the enemy dies and you can reset
Overheads and the stabs
I think better single target outside of rev attack would go a long way
I'd say that they should rework revved csword to just give a bunch of cleave + cleave damage but that's just psword
I think the rev should just change the moveset or something instead of making you do a really slow hit
that'd be cool
like it feels cool to use it while you sidestep a mutant or etc but it just feels like ass to use if there are 6+ ragers or a bunch of crushers or etc
I also don’t think the rev attacks are nearly enough damage for the amount of commitment they require
mk13 rev is def too slow for no real reason
i think the rev attack could kill a crusher and it'd still be dubious at the current speed
Rev attacks dont do enough damage against the targets it should matter against
Its decent against unyielding but not enough
at higher difficulties you're not standing there and channeling a full rev without getting overheaded or something
if you tapped special action and the chain weapon switched to all overheads that were slower for rending that mattered or something it might be fine
And cara has nothing
(also they should split their damage to each tick no one huge tick at the end)
Sacred oils
I think that needs to get buffed
I’m ok with trading stamina in cancelling a “long commitment attack”
But 3.5 is a bit crazy
Make it like 2 or smth
I think the long commitment attack better be something like the two handed psyker animation nowadays lmao
Would be also nice if the rev gave some innate amount of brittleness imo, you're digging a chainsaw into someone's armor, its bound to do something to its defenses
like that seems like a good example from what we've seen of something that is worth actually committing time to charge up
yeah better dmg split on rev would be good
So overall I think chainswords need like
- Better single target moveset damage outside of special-activated attacks
- Special-activated attacks need to deal significantly more damage since they’re very high commitment
- Dodge cancelling special-activated attacks should cost less than 3.5 stamina (somewhere like 2)
And maybe better stagger to help fight ragers
Unsure abt that one
Still think rev needs to do better on cara
"We will explain why no Veteran weapon"
...
...
"Nah bro, we actually didn't bother at all, go kick rocks"
Not chaxe level but still better
I think chainaxe rev attack is also not enough damage tbh
tbf vet already has the biggest weapon selection
It’s actually not as good vs unyielding as I thought
about time
yeah and have to make a lot of sacrifices to one-shot crushers lol
you can make the chax feel okay against unyielding at least but I still think it's bad
just so not worth it
Giving the rev some innate rending/brittleness applied would go a long way to boost its dmg
Nah not rly sacrifices
I think they don’t do enough vs unyielding and their horde clear is still hard capped by the cleave damage distribution max of 4
its SO funny
love being a psyker main
I laugh to not cry lmao
i mean to get the one shot against crushers you have to fuck over the already mediocre horde clear
just give us snd at this point
if i'm playing with pals and they don't want to do aurics i'll fuck around with a chax since I like the moveset
it can be fun, but tbh if i'm running a chaxe, i just expect it to one-shot crushers on heavy rev
not "oh you're one stack short of one-shotting, get fucked pal"
Chaxe is an awkward weapon
Use mk4 then
i like it more than chain sword, but that's not saying much
Spamming lights w/ headtaker+slaughterer is better dps against cara than its rev
U don’t even need to bother with heavy rev
i disliked the horde clear on it lol
so yeah no winning here
It’s actually better than mk12’s horde clear
And its horde clear moveset is obnoxious
Cuz it actually kills things
i know, i'm just lazy
and like to just light spam
which is why i do like the mk4's single target...
Still don't understand why the chaxe isn't 2 handed
Since it's just the mauler weapon with a shorter handle
presumably for the same reason that the 1h psword is just a one-handed version of the 2h psword
They look like different models
The chaxe we have and the maulers have is exactly the same, sans the shaft length
Shaft length
cooking
ooh attack directions
attack direction refers to the combo i have to do on my dancing mat right?
attack direction is whatever the left-most cell is
Damn that crazy
L1 from Rashad = ↙
But imagine if there was a nice graphic like in the ogrynomicon
am too lazy
nah
How are you gonna represent thrusts? Upwards arrow will be used for uppercuts like Rashad special
⮾ is used in physics to represent going into screen
same application here
I guess people will get it
Mf guide getting an index an glossary lmao
The only thing I’m worried about is
Whether or not I can squeeze 3 weapons into steam guide’s 8k word limit per section
Because there was one section that barely got squeezed in
Me seeing the vet guide after update
Just use shorter words
Ogryn players will appreciate it
MMO speak everything
Is "execution" a good blessing on the bolt pistol?
Trying to find out how I wanna set it up cause I really like it
Execution is always good since it always staggers
if you're playing bistol on vet, puncture + lethal prox is the way to go
no real reason to take anything else
Well now I'm still torn
I like lethal prox especially if I'm overrun by ragers or some shit but that 20% dmg bonus is looking sexy
puncture with either exec stance or FT will let you hit the relevant key breakpoints, so there isn't really a need for another damage blessing
lethal prox is there to make frag grenades do funny things
Mmm considering the build I use it with guess I'll keep it then
I hate exec stance tbh though
i just run it with FT instead of exec stance
I'm using it with weapons spec rn for a pen and I had fun in the mission I did
No
It’s a 1-tap type of gun
Execution doesn’t contribute to that
Not every single enemy can be one taped really
It can & should one tap both flamers and both gunners
Execution doesn’t help u achieve that
Lethal prox doesn't help much either especially at that point I can just melee if they're that close
Usually you're gonna kill those enemies at a range
Lethal prox makes your frag grenades better
True
execution only works on your second shot
Lethal prox is too high utility to not use, and puncture directly helps 1 tap breakpoints
Yeah was already made up my mind on using it for that but it's a shame execution doesn't have the utility it does
A second and third shot with a 20% dmg buff that's not a great argument
Besides considering it staggers most enemies including crushers I think it can be pretty good, if puncture didn't exist, paired with lethal prox it'd be great
not really
But I'm using it with a lacerate knife and frag nades so I gotta
think of it like skullcrusher on melee weapons, you can only gain the bonus on an enemy that's currently in stagger state
the difference is we're not using an unlimited ammo melee weapon, we're using a pistol that has eight rounds
But it already has a decent aoe and and staggers a lot of enemies
Idc I like it
ok, your loss
and you do like 60% of the enemy's HP on the first shot just to waste the extra damage on shot number two
Yeah plus any other enemies you stagger
And in this situation it's an aoe pistol that easily staggers litteraly anything
And then gives you 20% dmg
changing exactly zero breakpoints
does it have decent application uptime? yes
is it consequential? basically never
Meaning what exactly
things you can kill in one shot will still die on one shot
things that take two shots to kill will still take two shots to kill
It’s surprisingly low stagger
Alright that's fair enough
It doesn’t even break rager combo lol
and keep in mind yeah they have to be IN stagger state
its not just "this guy was staggered and now he takes extra damage"
that follow up has to be very quick
its actual best use is with the weapon special where you conk them in the face with the barrel and then pull the trigger
Staggered the ones I used it against then again I had lethal prox on
which is definitely funny
Nah it doesn’t break rager combo
If they’re not in combo it can stagger
Alright then someone explain to me what's a trap about lacerate
Before upgrade this knife I've had for like a year or so
I rarely use it but had some fun this time around
if you want bleed take flesh tearer
knife's niche is finesse which includes headshot damage
and it already has built in crit bonuses
applying bleed only when youre essentially not taking advantage of its niche is sort of backwards
I see
Even if I don't really try to hard on most average enemies for weak spot hits it'd be better then
off a crit you'd apply bleed to everything struck with Flesh Tearer
with Lacerate you only ever apply bleed to things you didn't headshot
What's best to pair it with? I see a lot of good options
Ayup
It's also more stacks
prob reciprocate or uncanny
Riposte not worth it? I'm gonna use uncanny
Thought I used to see a lot of people glazing riposte and never saw it over uncanny
After playing zealot for a week, i appreciate veteran much more
I love my vet now
Fuck zealot
I thought you meant precog for some reason
i got the names confused
What's more efficient to sprint around with? Rashad or Recon Mk14?
riposte synergizes well with FT
if i remember correctly recon 80 mobility is slightly faster than Rashad with 60
but not much
I like zealot for a lot of reasons but I just like fet
Vet*
Prob Rashad then
Yeah but Uncanny is rending
Knife likes rending
Thanks!
uncanny is pretty much always good too
One of the can't-go-wrong perks
Recon
Recon is +0.6m/s at 80% mobility
Rashad is +0.09m/s at 60% mobility
Huge difference
rashad is one slow mfer
Hey is 5% crit perk on the recon and las pistol worth it or should I just go for 25% damage
IIRC Uncanny applies to dots like Bleed
only if you use infernus
Ok so I'm not crazy for having my recon at 60 stability then?
Most melee weapons are around that speed
yeah it'll help make stuff like crushers bleed out faster
Recon dump is collateral
i've dumped collateral is i find it useless
THATS WHAT I THOUGHT BUT FRIEND CALLED ME A MORON
o really? it feels like i'm constantly behind others
and i'm not saying DS/knife users
Said mobility or stability after I thought collat
Ngl I feel like mobility stability and collateral can all be dump stats but collateral is the most useless of the 3
What's the dif between 80 and 60 even
Wait so vet has a base 5% crit chance right?
So it's just a 10% chance to proc infernus
Do you have any talents that add to it
I'm not using infiltrate
Wait but where's the +2 that's kinda funky
worth a point if going mid
yeah
Probably your weapon
Yes
Oh
Recon lasgun very kul
Id use the power sword more if it didn't get rid of the charge every time I got hit with itb at ALL
I still love it
I love taxes
taxes are theft
No
Sv trve.....
Scrapped the arrows for attack direction
Anarchy means I'll have to use my darktide time to forage for berries
you can just trade crack for food, go to zealot chat for your first customers
But that means I have to suck dick for crack
such is the anarchy economy
That's not too bad actually...
antax attack profiles done
@tall torrent are you making a Zelly guide?
No
Sadge
Zealot is much simpler than veteran
vet is the chosen class anyway
How so
Can you recommend my pleb ahh a build
Rashad or taxe?
Zealot has 1 good build
Share
Dafuq
then pick a keystone
Share that good build @tall torrent
Zealot talent tree mentioned
but really you should be taking FOTF
That is the build I'm using
Yes
So the pulsating relic is not good?
Correct
Or the shroud ability
fun for memes
What weapon for it
but really fury is already super fun anyway
“One of the best abilities in the game that gives u infinite sustain, i-frames, mobility & damage”
Chorus is discount VoC that also CCs you, and comes with a talent point tax for some baffling fucking reason
hi path
chorus can be funny for gradually pushing bosses off ledges ig
2 zealots with backstab CDR and chorus can infinite refresh their abilities
Quite funny, not super practical
path, do you think I could one-shot a crusher with illisi if i stack enough buffs, no stims?
@tall torrent what ranged weapon should be paired with tac axe on zealot?
That’s on a crit
I kinda doubt it too but i'm wondering how much it can do
Boltgun
Why?
That's also without cara or elites
What if Rashad
Boltgun
and perfect timing isn't stacked, and scriers barely had any stacks
Ok cool
i wonder how far it can go if i fully stack everything
Boltgun on zealot sounds funni
I use the agripinaa brauto currently
I do have a nice stat boltgun tho
Have fun testing
I'll try it after work in a few hours
take your bets
honestly i'm betting against it, but maybe
I think I can actually contain every weapon family within 1 section
i think it'll hit for 3k and fail
Combat axe is the only melee that really needs going into building for breakpoints
Maybe knife? Idk
But knife has only 2 weapons
Path is cooking
Combat axe rn is at like 4k characters out of the 8k limit
Let him cook
Achlys attack profile + combo for all 3 axes + achlys perk choices
Then add their radar charts
It always comes back to Rashad huh?
I was trying Antax last night
It has no light atk cancel
It throws me off too much I gave up
Also Antax’s lower damage really hurts its breakpoints
What is a breakpoint
Amount of damage needed to kill an enemy in as few hits as possible
Ok
Antax is that ugly brother of rashad
Is the mkvii devil claw better than the IV? Cause I've been trying to use the IV and it feels kinda awful aside from the parry
Nvm they feel very samey
Can you even spam parry on the 7?
I just assumed the parry was 1:1 on every sword so idk
i personally think IV is the best
Idk it's just that the light attacks kinda suck and the heavy attacks are ok so am I just supposed to pull it out to parry 90% of the time and that's it
The mkvii I've noticed has a better push attack and a strike in its light attack combo but that doesn't make as big of a difference as I thought it would for me
I like the parry though parry is great
The normal dclaw attacks all kinda suck
It's just a worse heavy sword in every way except the parry
pretty much unfortunately
Real. But parry is worth it
So do I just not bother with using regular attacks for horde clear
And just parry the horde
no parry has bad cleave
so you still use regular attacks for horde clear
it'll just take longer
Parry is a rager delete button imo
and bruisers
and in the right circumstances, crushers/maulers
but yeah the dps otherwise is pretty unfortunate
I've only seen it be useful against maulers/crushers for zealot
Where it can 1 shot
Bruisers are flak armored melee right
dreg bruisers have flak helmets, scabs are unarmored on the head
for mk iv it's L1 H2 for horde clear
mk vii is reversed
Right I forgot the h1 on mk IV is the overhead
and then mk1... we don't talk about mk1
Wait so do I just never light attack?
