cause your only recourse is blocking for long enough to regen your dodges at some point
hardly a dodge but a corpses step back
and that point happens a lot
good idea
ya the mkvi
so ya may as well double down on that niche
plus youre spamming the push attack a lot, probably
You're also block canceling with the mk6 a lot.
That block eff is gonna catch you regardless.
it actually works pretty well
i just hate it
fair enough
would rather lmb spam or heavy spam
Rashad 24/7
not many weapons like that tbh
Heavy sword mk9 24/7
shovel
i think i just found my new fav ranged weapon (bolt pistol)
how is this thing any different than the boltgun? other than only 1 firing mode and less mag capacity
damage
Itās worse for breakpoints, killing elite waves and doing boss damage
But it makes frag spam go crazy
i wonder if theyll ever give it pinning fire
Queued into an auric mael lobby with a Psyker using a white 300 heavy sword... š
That psyker want some ball of steel
It would be admirable if it didnāt mean everyone else had to pick up the slack and carry them

What are the best blessings for magdumping with bolter?
how do you spawn the trials in the creature spawner mod?
enable ai respawn
what melee is best to deal with bulwarks
one in each fist
voice of command
multiple bulwark is annoying
shock maul
kraks are the real answer, the other answer is you just gotta learn em
lit just alt attack their shields, try it in the psykanium
i wish punching with the knife worked
is like punch your fist on brick wall
you know powersword uncharged can do small stagger on bulwark when hitting their shield
wasn't the coo lthing about bolt pistol how it could boost grenade radius
The blessing Lethal Proximity
actually?
how does this work
throw the grenade and then swap to the pistol before it explodes?
Just have the blessing iirc
oh really?
Doesn't matter if you're holding the Bistol
yeah you don't need to actually pull out the gun
insane
hits the entire psykanium
i also am trying the grenademaxx build
I hope this isn't nerfed/fixed š
It turns shredders into WMDs
Another bug I assume?
There are no bugs in Warhammer 40,000: Darktide

shits been around for ages thankfully I fucked with it and found out
š
I had 0 interest in the boltpistol until now
is there a way to convert plasteel to dia?
Roll for a melk plasteel find contract, find plasteel in mission, use melk credits to buy a weapon, salvage
okay I'm loving the bistol
I fully understand the hype and I would like to consider myself part of it
Yeah it's pretty decent NOW
i mean its arguably not a bug, it states +25% explosion range, no strings attached. so why wouldnt it work on nades
it's not really intuitive and that's kinda not how most things work in this game
They've patched out a lot of blessing interactions that used to work globally without changing how they're worded.
And the ones that remain still usually require you to hold out the weapon
that being said, it's too goofy to fix, pls let us keep it fatshark
Anybody have any munitorum shovel builds for vet on hi intensity auric damnation?
Itās one of the last weapons I have left to level up and rarely use it, got slapped around a little more than Iād like on a previous mission and donāt want to hold my team back using it
I only play auric damnation+ and am struggling to find a way to get it to work well
Whats people's preferred plasma gun dumpstat?
this is pretty much it
gonna struggle still with the massive hordes you get on high intensity though
Poke em, stun em, stick em in a stew
Perfect is 69 thermal, 71 charge rate, 80 everything else
plasma copypasta
69 f'real?
For non-fold shovel you have to remember the push attack is your most effective single target attack
With my current setup I can clear all trash pretty easily but a single armor enemy gets in there and Iām fucked
yes
How come?
Yeah I always do it for damage, I try to add in the poke forward attack but it just isnāt worth it compared to shove attack
you need to use push attack for single target dps
cauliflower cat can prob explain the exact logic but i think it has to do with the number of shots you can fire consecutively
Just auric hi intensity hordes are so thick itās difficult to be able to hold them with the shovel, Iām trying gunfighter with it to be able to switch between melee and ranged for elites which works
Til I run out of ammo
With uncanny strike stacks up, that's decent damage. It helps to have krak nades when your gun isn't fit to deal with armour
Funny enough I rarely used them as I felt them too big a crutch and itās the last penance I have for vet is to get 500 armor kills with them
So I guess I should start using them more
Would probably make a big difference in performance
You can also throw down 2 shredder nades to deal with armour and mixed hordes if you don't feel like using krak
68+ decimal in thermal resist gives 8 continuous shots from 0% heat instead of 7, so I recommend 69 thermal resist for safety sake
Charge rate affects left clickās pre-fire delay therefore firerate, so itās not a dump stat and u want as high as possible (which thereās only room for 71~72)
Plasma actually needs very high damage & stopping power stats to hit breakpoints
Ammo roll too low = you donāt get 1/3 shot worth of ammo back from each survivalist proc
Overall:
69% thermal resist
71% charge rate
80% everything else
we need a bot that provides this response everytime someone asks for plasma stats
If it's not mixed with crushers or many maulers, you should be able to hold your ground with Uncanny+Decimator mk1 shovel and heavy attacks
if its mixed
throw a frag or krak (at armor)
Figured
If you could just pin it I wouldn't ask..
technically is pinned
it's all in the guide in the first pin š
That guide?
I was using shredder grenades to try and just bleed as much as possible and let my shovel cleave the rest but the enemy pool hp is too high for it
yes from cauliflower cat
Kay bookmarked
Cauliflower cat is my favourite avant garde punk rock band
this 30 +9 zealot clutched up the end of silo cluster with me and frankly I WISH I could have more teammates like them, they were great
also was my first match using bolt pistol
feels great
Personally I prefer dumping Ammo, but then again, I probably use it differently that 90% of users.
Weapon Specialist?
Yeah, and usually 60%+ of my damage is melee damage if I don't have to carry the entire squad
Charge rate matters more to me for reducing my reaction time than Ammo does, since I don't really run out ever
And maxxed Thermal allows for using a charged shot instead of an uncharged shot as the last shot before reaching 100 heat. Not always useful, but more useful than Ammo i won't need
Only caveat is the no-ammo Maelstroms, where I max Ammo
But my optimal 69/71 split
^People when someone has fun with a build and make it work too
A good melee Vet player is no joke, should not be overlooked
I love the Bolt Pistol so much, it's so damn good.
Best feeling Bolt-Weapons I've ever had in a shooter.
Stability is dump stat
What's everyone opinion on the Slug shotty ?
Lho stick, be sure to get her a fresh pack
Mid
Yeah, I'd love to like it, tried it yesterday finally, and uh. Yeah I'd rather have a revolver
I was underwhelmed
What do you think I should do here? Demo team? Bring it down? Melee dmg node?
depends on what you're using
demo team is always nice to have, if you're lucky, last node on your keystone is nice too
I like to take the extra range/melee dmg when using VoC
I'm playing around with this
Nades were not really a problem
I feel like maybe the melee is a bit weak overall so
I want to try rampage+scrusher on the dc see how it fares. I'll go for demo team for now
I think you should spend that one point on getting frags and survivalist instead, and then swap out exploit weakness because it's awful
unless you're doing the penance in which case godspeed
Nah i don't care about penances. The thing is i'm rocking 3 17% toughness curious so i didn't wanna "waste" a point on more toughness
It's more toughness though
True but voc+ all toughness curios and I end up with lowest dmg most times lol
also to be fair you might actually need kraks for that loadout
I do have kraks
I'd fold like a paper towel when 5 crushers rush me
yeah, but I just told you to get rid of them
Ah, i wouldn't have regardless tbf, i have another build for frag spam
you should definitely switch the point from exploit weakness to the 25 toughness node to its right in any case
Oh btw to the people that complained yesterday about how āmy advice ā is wrongā¦. If you think itās wrong then maybe you should start helping those that ya knowā¦. Ask for help and not bitch and complain like a bunch of man children ⦠and Further more ( if someone just asks for a build for a specific weapon and ONLY that weapon) Iām going to give them a build for said weapon not a universal build for their playstyle mkay
The way I look at it, all advice is right and wrong at the same time.
I've taken advice from person A,
then person B says the complete opposite.
And person C thinks A and B are wrong
Yeah I had a build made up cause the new player was likeā¦. Hey I need a sword build⦠never mentioned primary or his abilityās he uses ⦠I gave him one and everyone said it was bad
If anything I would sayā¦. Just take it bit by bit and use the small advice that is āgoodā on offerā¦. But experiment on your own
Only really ask for advice if youāre unknown about a build or a class
My build is probably considered bad by meta players
But it gets me through matches so it's good enough for me.
I did so with Joker and me and him helped each other out, my psycher build I set up for quell cancel runs disrupt destiny which out dps his old build immensely so having a buddy to help co inside small competition but also just helpful advice on a class you donāt main helps immensely in the long run
The only bad builds are builds I say are bad tbh
I could probably optimise mine a little
But there's a few talents I hate to give up haha
Yeah for me I always felt grenade regen was a must till I switched to grenade on elite kill by 5% itās small but it made me also utilize nades more conservatively and better as a resource
I really like Field Improv but I know I could realistically get rid of it
Here is my sniper build currently
to be fair, grenade spam is very helpful
can't go wrong as long as you use them
I'm working on Armourbane so stuck to using Krak for a while longer
Think I finally hit the halfway mark
I do spam sometimes but I just learn to at least use them right
No keystone, very interesting
everything 80 except stability, then lament that it is a helbore
Donāt need one for sniper build plus helps makes it more flexible and not restrictive
What site do you use for this?
I just used on my phone darktide builder
Weird
It doesn't display properly for me
Hmmm
Looks like it's permanently glowing
looks fine for me btw
XD
Annoying.
You don't think the ability to make your chosen mark take a fuckton more damage with the click of a single button, whilst also giving it a cozy outline, is beneficial to a build that calls itself a sniper?
Oh I switched it to light theme and it looks correct
Oh the make ability is super helpful too, but then you need to sacrifice dodge crits and melee finess which I feel is super needed for vet as it can let you run melee without suffering
I run my Rashad unupgraded and I do fine
I prefer for the sniper build I got, finesse weapons like Knife/Devil/Tac
Stuff thatās fast casue I can two shot crushers with my Helbore
I tend to do Boltgun + Rashad
If I'm going Sergeant it'll be plasma gun and Rashad
brb barber
Current setup.
Good set up whatās your weapons š
Knoife & Recon for now.
Want me to give you a dif recon knife build?
I switched to damage aura just for the penance, and found I can kinda live without survivalist. But I do miss it.
What you got is good I do feel itās mroe fitting for heavier weapons though or revolver
Let me make you a recon build you might like
Always open to suggestions
Need to get the Krak and Smoke penances though so generally restricted until those are done.
It looks fine but passing up on desperado feels wrong to me
And I hate Exec Stance
I'm melee 90% of the time so tried to lean towards that.
It is nice for diversity after using plasma for an eternity
I need to try the plasma again one day
I tried it back around Launch and hated it
I just remember it feeling really unwieldy back then.
Just have to be okay being hated by your team because you kill everything in one shot
How are we calling the plasma gun unwieldy when the Helbore exists
Oh yea I hate the Helbore too
Helbore just feels like the longbow of this game without the weapon swap speed.
that damn animation when you switch weapon
Plasma is literally just move crosshairs over target, and press lmb, itās not that unwieldy
And plasma has a surprisingly low draw speed
and you can skip some reloading animations
So I have the 10% melee damage talent,
But I feel maybe there's a more impactful place to spend it
Cuts into my hymn chanting while dodging time
Maybe 10% rending instead of 10% melee damage? Not sure if that's worth it
Depends on weapon. Power sword needs no talent support. While axes require a bit to my unserstanding
I've been running knife lately. So the 10% is probably a waste.
Just not sure what else would be of greater benefit.
Depends on if it lets you reach 1shor break points
Might be worth testing later
10% of 60 is like 6 though, so it probably isn't worth it. Not at face value anyway
Very dependent on gun and weapon but rending in general is still very strong
Because it was terrible at launch lol
I have Uncanny on the knife so maybe 10% more rending is redundant?
Ahhh. Glad to know I wasn't just stupid
Uncanny on anything makes it redundant but I can see the argument if you're running like
Recon Las or Vigilant Autos
That's true.
Uncanny is free rending on weakspot hit, itās ok I mean helps a lot for armor opponents
But thatās it, it helps for those crushers
Precog is the more busted one imo
Dodging and 60% bonus fines
Don't you have to dodge like 5 times before it's effective though?
Or is it substantial even at 1 stack
The only two talents I will actually chastise you about is Iron Will cause itās literally free survivability for Vet and Precision Strikes cause 30% Weakspot increase
Itās just 1 stack for 2 seconds
REALLY FUCKING HURTS
Oh I thought it was a stacking buff
I must be thinking of something else
No rending strike is, and so is riposte
The devilish chuckle Iāve made cuz of how this talent effects strikedown attacks dmg wise
I mean for plasma I will say take out weakspot hit but thatās just me
Itās still super benificial
So good
Yea I grabbed Iron Will now
Feels pretty beefy
weapon specialist my beloved
10% melee damage node with the knife feels a bit wasteful. Is there anything else that would be more substantial to pick? š¤ Or is it worth keeping
10% more dmg on the weapon known for multiplying its dmg via more headshot dmg, Iād keep it tbh
Even on vet it can pair well with the weakspot talent
Ahh okay.
I just figured 10% increase of an already small amount might not be worth it
I don't know how the game maths works, but at face value 10%+ of 140 would only be an increase of 14.
Iron Will is a must have if youāre not doing a shout vet, you can run it with shout vet as well but itās not needed as you will be using shout with gold toughness and your regen will be high enough to counter act the damage to get back more gold toughness again
Maybe if I was a good player I could live without it. š¤”
But.... Are you?
Absolutely not
I guess but every good player will tell you to run it
Even my sniper build I need it cause shooting people from range still chips my toughness like a bitch
I'm not BAD, but prone to making 1 critical mistake and humbling myself.
Like I'll go several matches back to back flawless
Then get 1tapped by a snipah in the next
Anyone who complains that they need talent support for the Rashad axe (other than the +30% weak spot damage talent you take anyway) is being dramatic
but it does, because damage good
I won't say no to more damage if I can get it, sure
until I can 1-hit a BoN non-weakspot, you can ALWAYS get more damage
But boss fucking is the Krak Grenade's job
And if we run out of krak there's magdumping bolters
me running the middle ground kantrel rifle,,,
Rifle?
the lasgun
I want to kill the heretic with my own hands :c
If I do that's usually more of my Zealot's thing
fun thing about vet is that weapon specialist makes you jack of all trades
I am already one without it
tell me more of your obscure achievements revolving around team killing krieg veterans with a barrel
Just get gud at dodging and hitting skulls
I actually swing my eviscerator at head height so I don't hit the barrels
Can we talk about the dude who keeps shooting the burster when I go for push, thus deleting the HP bars of 3 players on the team
good player
shouldn't run to bursters?
doing emperor's work, making sure everyone is on a even level
Fuck that, if a mf beeps at me I am pushing him
can we talk about the fact that our characters keep shouting "SHOOT THE BURSTER"
eveytime I'm like "well, no"
Never heard that line
Bro have you heard how nuts most characters are
But someone shoots it
WDYM, they are all absolutely sane
100%
and mentally stable
just like us
IDK man Psyker is kinda uh

Some of yall never argued with your own subtitles and it shows
I fucking love that line of dialogue haha
But I will admit, the one that keeps talking about the beloved and all is a bit irritating
not because of the beloved gimmick but, the voice alone makes me cringe
Are you even real
What are you?

That voice is Seer.
Dude, I think I am
Psykers have Savant and Loner as their other two voices.
Savant being the enforcer.
Doesn't mean it's true
I like the psyker voice with the funny laugh c:
Which one?
i like the male seer as the crazy gremlin voice
idk name
Are they french or do they talk about their beloved?
I just hear it occasionally with a maniacal laugh
Or is the text literally "maniacal laughter"?
probably loner
Because if it is that text then it's one of Seer's vent lines.
mfw I've learned that the VA for the french psyker is not even french
Iām sorry but hearing a female psycher scream fear my potential and only to quell cancel a horde, 6 crushers 500 ragers and 2 beasts of nurgles is out matched
she's doing a hell of a great job tho

That's male Seer when the text says "maniacal laughter" on venting.
For both male and female?
Or just one or the other?
the female one
ikr
The psyker VA is german, likely northern Germany if I remember the accents correctly
Most of the voice actors are just English putting on accents
Except Kayex who is actually Welsh
loner psyker is just the TF2 medic, change my mind
Female Loner confused me for a while
But she's supposed to be Indian
says who?
Well A. It sounds Indian. B. The voice actress is part Indian
So I feel like that's enough evidence to assume that's what she was going for.
im not hearing indian at all
Any tips to complete on Overwatch Penance?
which one is it already ?
If it's the one I'm thinking of, don't get hit
Easier said than DONE
"As the Sharpshooter, complete a Mission on Malice Threat or higher without taking any melee damage."
Remember you can take toughness damage
Just no health damage
Ye. And work on your dodge & block game.
If you don't have Iron Will talent, consider trying that too maybe.
Noice
Zug goes over his plasma build and a few different ways to improve upon it
Toughness/Health: Standard boosts to survivability.
Toughness Regeneration Speed: Only boosts passive regen in team coherency, but with the right perks (like Charismatic's +50% aura radius), it can provide significant benefits when supporting your team.
Stamina Regenerat...
I'm at around 500
But I did take several long breaks
Path is feeling a disturbence in the force
I'm only around 350, and I began to play a month ago
I remember trying the game day one on pc and I was like "what the fuck is taht shit"
I'm one of the rare people who loved it from Day 1
My number one issue is that it ran like dog
I guess I was lucky to have no problems heheh
but I had a less powerful computer tho back in the days
And it was actually Space marine 2 that got me into Darktide again haha
But I feel like I'm not the only one, far from it
I'm not interested in space marines so I skipped that
I did watch some people play it though
Anything to pique interest in WH40K is good
Again, Iām not watching that lol
Well I did the campain, some coop missions, but idk, I find the game lacking in content, and the combat is very inconsistant
i'l get it on sale for -50%
seems like a fair price
I'd argue space marine 2's combat is pretty consistent
Consistently easy
Go back to your cave
SM2 looks consistent but seeing how people play it does seem like a slog if enemies are just Bethesda tanky when it comes to difficulty
I just think Rejects are cooler than dudes in metal suits.
It's the impact. FatShark really spoils us with presentation so Space Marine looks like your weapons just slip through most enemies and guns chip healthbars instead of armor
It's a real shame we can't break 10k people on Steam
I mean itās an improvement from Vermintide 2s combat
Better movement
More core mechanics
if i had my way everyone would play darktide
alas people feel the need to measure their dicks on the internet so PvE never pulls its weight
Some nights I struggle to even matchmake with anybody.
They finished VT2's pvp mode so now darktide is next
Sit there in the lobby for 60 seconds
Is that in the lower difficulties
Heresy usually.
Malice seemed to have more people playing.
I think space marine on first page is overtrend.
I'd get to damnation as soon as your able to
Darktide didnāt get extra players from pc perspective
how are you finding all these random darktide guide videos with less than 50 views?
I guess steamdb doesn't count game pass people
So maybe we're over 10k
Space marine is kinda meh but at aleast it didnāt release as a beta version
Easily.
I mean we passed 10k 4 days ago
And I didnāt have to pay to play test it unlike some other 40k game
Ps5 people likely pick some stereotype game like fighting mortal kombat, fifa, madden, cod.
I mean Darktide being even with VT2 today is a really good sign
Oo nice.
I was just looking at the 24hr peak
That and people will tell you ābuild is bad waaahā when said build is only fixated for one weapon or a certain play style
The 3 month timeline shows that darktide has received a serious bump of players that are still around.
^ wait for the sony players
We getting more meat for the grinder during December

I doubt we'll ever see a new class
But more of anything is welcome
I can see them maybe adding another tree for perks
Mandalore also seems to be working on a darktide video so that will be another bump in players
But idk what class they could add to the game
Maybe a Ratliifn but that was back during day 1 of release
I am so fucking excited
i'm one of them
ooh boy
neat
He'll call the bad story bad but because its mandalore he'll cover the background lore which is really good
turns out the game is a lot more fun when new and varied builds are actually reasonably accessible
Shocking nobody really.
However I went from chasing god rolls to looking for builds like a form of build goblin so... not much is better
Hello furry
Who really plays a horde shooter for the story though
Hello
DTās story is actually ok itās just that 90% of it is not present in the game
Itās all outside the game

He's not lying the posts they put out are great
Yea story isn't bad
But plot really shouldn't be your main reason to play Darktide.
- Hellou, Reject
- You did a good job, now get the hell out of here, but be aware that there's a traitor>
One eternity and 30 levels later: - SO THIS (person) WAS A TRAITOR
- good job reject, now get the hell out of here
Ya pretty much all of the actual story stuff are outside of the game
Don't need a reason to stab Eretics
The level 30 music is great
Yeah if you dig there is interesting stuff, there's a lot of set up with no payoff yet but they can do stuff with the story if they want too and they have a cast of interesting enough chjaracters to go through it with
so the average 40k lore?
Pretty much
Stuff like the matyr skull dialogue which your never gonna hear in game but gives insight into the moebian 6th
the moebian 6th story is so intersesting
but yeah you have to dig a little to actually know it
Infiltrate captain wolfer bedroom
The tale of people pushed to their absolute limits by people who don't even care about them that choose to fight for their own future instead of some one else's, who braved more hardships then any will ever know, battle hardened by hundreds if not thousands of wars.
And they get smashed in the face by a fucking rock
a friendly rock
I wonder if we will get some Helldivers who suddenly realize Darktide demands even more teamplay - and provides far less orbital support.
Hd2 was fun for a week or so... Then I was back to Darktide.
The hard-stuck-on Helldivers players who are in online spaces really do not want difficulty.
Not much team play, more mechanical skill
We'll get some people who want more challenge and skill expression than helldivers
We'll get people who want that. Realise they hate it then go back to helldivers
Darktide is my abusive girlfriend, I sometimes get beat up and burnt out over it but Iām always crawling back
Same could be said with COD Zombies though lmao
The "game difficult" reddit/discord crowd coerced the "A game for everyone is a game for noone" dev team to cave in to their demands and turned the game to slush š
HD2 players when they actually can't suicide strike every objective:
Okay you know what they shouldāve done
Itās going to sound busted
But itās literally how it worked in HD1
Why arenāt the respawns infinite
You just immediately get wiped the moment all 4 are dead
I don't totally subscribe to that thinking. I genuinely do think Arrowhead wanted to thread the needle of making the then-base game easier and then introduce complex difficulties later. But that means another long period of waiting for that difficulty to be introduced and I'm not patient/engrossed enough by the current game to keep playing while we do.
I also think they fucked it up though.
I personally liked the limited respawns more. Gave you a reason to clutch up and the games where you fought for your life for 2 minutes just to die and have the next person do the funny was a hilarious relay race
I'm with Gale. The reinforcements system is partially what makes the game balance such a joke.
Thing was the spawns In HD1 for enemies were like HISTG/mael levels of
My gripe with what they did is that they nerfed both the enemies and giga buffed the arsenal. Doing one would have been my preferred way of handling things.
Many weapons did desperately need love
It was also 2d so not really comparable to a 3d version of it imo
Like I know Diff 15 you had to constantly move around the map or get swarmed
Yea like only 1/3rds or less of the weapon roster needed to be adjusted. Instead everything got buffed. Bile Titans getting dropped by a single AT rocket is so sad.
It's a lot easier to concentrate firepower for the players with just two dimensions to worry about
Been a lascannon user since Day 1
Imagine how I feel when they subtly tweaked it
And I mean subtly
I actually got to chat with Pilestedt and he agrees. The reinforcement system as-is sucks but they don't have any easy solutions, especially not with such a whiny, bitch-made playerbase
(Not his words btw)
Did he say why it sucks?
Theyād have to completely rehaul the spawn system for both
Divers and enemies
Zero tension, almost unimpactful, and it makes balancing the output of one player life very difficult when you have twenty in the bank.
To make HD1 system work
Right when they nerfed the railgun the game was peak for me. You really struggled with heavy armor and it felt great to be in survival mode for most of the match
You know how tense it is to do or watch a clutch in DarkTide? None of that exists in HD2
Then they (deservedly tbh) buffed the AT rockets and the game was a bit too easy for my liking
And if it does you first have to fuck up enough times to burn through 20 lives, which is already an achievement.
Laser Cannon being slept on for ages being absolutely fucking insane for bots till people realized around summer itās a good weapon
Lmao
I remember someone asked the former ceo if they could make final stands more interesting like darktide (literal wording) and I was thinking "how?"
yes that was me
Gotcha. I personally like it since it allows you to fuck around and find out which is a big part of the charm of the game for me.
It also emphasizes the "throw bodies at it until it is gone" approach super earth has and the completely meaningless existence of the helldivers which is peak world building.
And while you have that it also allows you to have those clutch moments after shit has really hit the fan and once the reinforcements were out the real game began, at least that's how I liked to play with my friends
Holy shit Darktide being mentioned
Lmao
I forget weāre not a small game as much as I think we are
Also another thing for Helldivers to get used to:
Backspawning enemies.
Your reaer is never truly sercure. Especially on Auric Damnation.
Darktide is moderately well known isnāt it
But the game was made easier and easier with each patch so I can see the respawn system being a problem now
have sound queues ever NOT been an issue?
Thatās one of the biggest reason you know something is in play
I would argue it's being made...different. Not necessarily easier per se.
Or even if the spawn rates are lowered, you will notice on Auric the map and layouts have a particular way of screwing you over...
In theory yes but most players hate dying so much that they bitched even if they were winning 90% of their games (actual average win rating btw). They didn't want to use 20 lives as a resource to beat a mission, they want to be one man beating a mission. Helldiver, not Helldivers.
They all patently missed the point lmao
HD2 doesnāt really have sound queues for when something spawns minus
to be fair, some deaths felt bullshit
I was talking about helldivers 2
Drop ships and breaches
Ah sorry.
You canāt really tell whatās in that spawn
No worries
Vs Darktide
Auric hunting grounds for the deaf experience
Breaches smoke marker also masking like 99% of the spawns
You hear an echoed āNo escape for you!ā Net gun revving
"waves of mutants" = turn off audio
isnt that a QotSA album
assuming it even plays the audio
Where is the fun part
Yeah that's what makes me upset. People want to be that guy so bad they bitched about a game where you are just a useless body to be disposed of so much that the devs caved and started making you that guy
Special Audio cues (be it the ones actually from specials, or the various callouts from our player classes) are critical to surviving Auric.
Well, half of it. Ther other half is knowing the right priority. Especially in case of multiple specials.
Like there aren't already hundreds of games that let you be that guy
Hell elites have sound queues
Not spawn queues
Power fantasy is so prevelant in so many games that I found it refreshing to play a really good game where you're just meat
It's very disappointing because Helldivers 2 is still one of the best sequels of all time and it did stumble at the start but instead of righting themselves players said "i like the part where you all stumbled" and now the game is flat as fuck
But sounds to say theyāre nearby
Shield being slammed against by a club?
Thatās a bulwark
Revving of a chain weapon?
Mauler
I mean in Darktide, if things go south enough that you briefly have to carry the team (and succeed in doing so), you actually feel rewarded for being The Person that pulled it off.
to be fair, they can also be power fantasy but you die in droves
EX: Noita lmao
Right? The game was so fucking peak. Obviously terrible technical problems aside cause sony pushed the release (yay) but the game itself was so fucking well done considering where the dev team started.
As you should. Clutching is cool
It is
Itās why Iām just shy 1.5k hours on it
I think NOW its a good game
And still not bored
Keep in mind too that if you wanted to be John Helldiver and super bad ass, you could do that. You could in fact get good at Helldivers. I was often spending one life over three Helldives
pre-Unlocked and Loaded? I wouldn't say that
Darktide has always been a great game. Gameplay wise. The supporting systems were just giga shit
But now skill expression has been sandpapered out of the game
Classic FS
its amazing how badly they fumbled Darktide's beginnings
The game itself was still great just the RNG elements really kneecapped it
Darktide released in kind of a shit state but it was built on a rock solid foundation that will outlive SM2 or HD2
Yup. But people complained that playing at the highest difficulty was in fact not that easy.
Yeah. But fatshark is resistent to learning so what you gonna do
Cause it genuinely was just not fun at all
Darktide 2 featuring Tzeentch please so that can see Change UwU
Everytime I joined my friends I begged them to turn it up to 9 cause I was in it for the shitshow. The most fun I've had was when I was running around scrambling to get my bearings for 40 minutes and somehow end up not dying and clearing the entire map.
Hotdrops my beloved
...That...what.
Like...really, what did they expect roflmao.
It's the highest difficulty for a reason...
DT & DRG are peak
and now the game is piss easy
Yeah idk man, fragile gamer egos or whatever, idk what drove them to think like they have to play or are entitled to play at the highest difficulty and have an easy time
I'll check back in on Helldivers once we get Inner Circle of Hell
I expect those specific Helldiver recruits to nope out after normal Damnation at this rate lol.
Nevermind Auric or special conditions even.
Nah they won't make it out of Heresy
Hi, is veteran okay for returning players?
Tbf heresy is actually harder then damnation because of the players you have to play with
Game is in a VERY nice state for returning players.
by then, most primaries will be AP4 and the Senator will shoot Hellbomb missles
Veteran is gud
(In fact Veteran has almost always been eating good, even since the earliest days...)
in one of its best states
Veteran is definitely the most straightforward of the classes if you want to get your bearings
Melee trash and shoot specials?
Mostly, depends on how you want to build but generally yes
Still true. Except for some guns you can even shoot trash as well now!
looks at improved Accatran
So I heard if you grind a gun it gets automatically good stats?
effectively yes
No more rng bullshit?
you still need a gun with good stats but its 20x easier to get now
Grinding gun gives you good Perks and Blessings.
For base stats, you can improve it (if you have played Division 2, kind of like the gun system there)
May god rest Vermintide playerbase's soul cause he knows it aint getting updated
Stuck with attrocious rng
Also, depending from when you are returning...not only are there new missions
but also some of the old missions had their category re-assigned
Iāll be honest I donāt know how to classify Veteran on skill curve
Easy to get into yes
so you know those penances for doing missions types? Far less painful to grind now.
But I canāt tell if itās hard to master or easy to master
Never payed attention Iāve dumped easily 1k hours into Vet
I would say it depends on which path you are going.
As someone who relies on VoC, I would say that is the easiest path to master.
Steath/Classic Vets definitely rely on more skills.
Can we get drip without coughing cash?
Free drip range has widened, but cannot truly say whether it is "better"
Unless you really like the basic cadian armor not really
There are two good unlockable sets through penances
I find that perfect for the Ogryn actually.
My Vet is Free stuff kitbash (aside from a paid helm).
Waiting for Enforcer set to come on again for my Psyker (to match the background lol)
Not sure what I want to make my Zealot.
(And yes, my playtime is still massively biased towards Vet)
I couldn't help myself and got the very expensive drip
Moebian 6th is the army turned traitor?
Looks like actual Ksarkin, nice.
helmet isnt in a set, chest and legs are from 2 different sets
Yes, but I think we get loyalist version of their uniforms as part of the free drip.
And there is more free moebian armor in black coming in the next update we believe
(The traitors usually chaos-ify their armour by adding sigils and spikes)
(...and making it dirty. Because Nurgle.)
we're not sure when havoc is coming out (whether it's coming with grim protocols or not)
Iād honestly say Vet overall
Exe is probably the only reason that makes vet less of an incredibly easy to pick up and master class
Isnt there a set worth 900k coins for every class?
Yep. That is still around.
900k dockets.
Grab that for Veteran? Looks less homeless
I'd like to get out of Heresy one day
But I spent 500 hours in Malice so I don't expect to get there any time soon
Yeah but it's mostly just color variations of the same armor, which if your into that armor is good but not so much if you aren't
Damnation is easier then heresy
very low skill floor (bad stamina management, low atk speed)
high skill ceiling (high melee dmg, utility & special sniping)
I've heard people say that
I think starting off with Exe Stance is pretty much the "survive Vet as a conscript" stage, which is ironically lore accurate.
Once you can switch to the other skills, you have survived enough to be a force to be reckoned with.
I dont think vet's skill ceiling is that high
Yea, pretty much that
VoC is just...so much utility in Darktide's given gameplay pace
in comparison to what
You can tank, you can buff, and you can heal.
I'm not sure you're using the right definition of skill floor/ceiling
I felt naked when I had to use Exe Stance for the penances
I guess you could compare Vet as long Soldier for TF2 as in incredibly easy to pick up and play
Super vulnerable
But requires time to master
Pirates of penzance
ah right the sequel
6th stuff too good imho
to pirates of the penguinbean
skill ceiling is difficulty to master and skill floor is accessibility for beginners. Having bad stamina management and low aspd doesn't make the class easier to approach, so idk what you mean by that
vet is definitely on the harder side for beginners
The one with the highest skill floor is psyker because you can kill yourself with it
If it's hard for beginners, that's a high skill floor
To Fatshark's credit they have improved Exec Stance but yea, it feels weird running around without extra toughness on demand
you got it backwards
low skill floor = easy to be bad
high skill floor = easy to be good (even if ur skill is on the floor, ur still gonna do well)
low skill ceiling = low max potential
high skill ceiling = high max potential
high skill ceiling is how hard it is to perform optimally
an optimal vet doesn't have more required skills than an optimal zealot
I dont like Psyker or Instigator
Exec Stance is also a bit more teamplay reliant compared to the other two
You need to have any teammate to run around clearing chaff. Like yes Exec stance maintains a bit better now even without needing to shoot, but to get the most out of it you need to not be knoced around (or have horde chaff blocking your shots)
isnt it
low skill floor = easy to be good
high skill floor = easy to be bad (because being good is harder)
no
Vet's stamina issues (if any) are more tied to the weapon equipped.
longest stam delay :c
This is the internet, you are supposed to double down even when you realize you made a mistake.

Itās the longer delay
easy to play bad (bad stamina management, low atk speed)
hard to play well but has great potential (high melee dmg, utility & special sniping)
Itās less the weapon
this is what I mean
@broken spade
Itās why I have zealot players agreeing with me you should take Stam regen on Veteran for Curios
what really holds veterans back is the lack of raw sexual energy, which the ogryn exudes in spades
nah, 3x sprint efficiency, trust
Huh, did not really notice that.
I will need to think about Stam a bit and try to notice if I had been dying more because of that...
You clearly havent listened to any of the voices
Tbf Ogryn is probably the only āHeavyā of this game in skill where itās easy to pick up and master
Ogryn feels easy to start
Easy to master as well
Guns feel wrong on Ogryn
You just gotta learn what the build is meant to do and it usually fucking stomps
And yet somehow gunlugger Ogryns are really popular nowadays.
Gun lugger buffs
I still like the Ogryn shotty you start with though.
Arent Gun luggers weak in melee?
I literally play Glugger on the side
That might get me to try a Shottie vet at some point.
Not at all
People will keep telling you about how bad it is
weak in comparison to a skullbreaker build yes
Get a melee that pairs well with it and they just swap to gun when an elite horde shows up
And i will laugh at them
Ogryn feels like counting to 4 is hard, leave alone operating a machinegun
(right now I am still addicted to the Power Sword/Bolt Psitol tabletop Vet Sergeant layout)
I want to love power sword, but having to spam special is grating to me
I really want to try a chainsaw sword on Veteran
If youāre using it for like Chaffe clear
Use the heavy sword
Understandable. I tried moving away from it but...nothing quite runs like that butter.
Chainsaw sword is good on Veteran?
Serviceable
Itās like white bread
it's a one trick
Itās there
Think of it this way - almost no weapon is bad on Vet, per se.
Almost.
It feels good but isnāt great
āOne Tricksā are excels at on thing and Is weak at everything else
There is "serviceable", "good" and "Emperor blessed great"
In terms of our close quarter weapons.
Ex. Mk 3 shovel
Insanely good against single target and carapace but
Is terrible in horde clear
it's just for poking mauler & crusher
the mk3 is good at things?
Smaul be so good
stop resisting! ā”
It can stun ogryns
ogryn is fine, u can stun bulwark through shield
But yeah monsters
Itās the Unyielding damage
Yeah the alt fire on shields is super nice for smaul
Itās painful
it's just monster dmg where it's
I think they are referring to when a squad of enemy Ogryns manage to corner you
Which, even if you stay in coherency on Auric
can happen
because fucking back spawns
But its got stun, good single target
that's a fucked situation to any melee
Fine hordeclear if youve got the combo right
it's serviceable horde clear
and the one situation where you need Nades. Krak or Frag.
Not even a P Sword can get you out of that.
I guess it is a lot harder to play well than psyker (doesn't need to aim or even really manage toughness).
Idk i guess it just feels weird saying vet skill ceiling is high cause it doesn't feel like the ceiling for this game is that high
Otherwise 1 to 1 ratio is oof
Kraks suffer in mixed Carapace groups, I find.
Like, you want to aim for a crusher.
But then due to various field factors, oops, it latches onto a Mauler instead.
What's chainswords best blessings?
as an experienced player it's easy to think this game's skill ceiling is not very high
And the frag stagger is universal
Conversations of high skill ceilings always make me think of games where speedruns consist of frame perfect shit where you wish you were born with different hands
Therefore more reliable for me
Yes, Frags are indeed the true way to go
Itās super fucking easy to die as a new psyker
And the bleed helps too ofc
I'm moreso talking like, how much practice it takes on avg for a new player to be considered "good enough" at a class
That Peril management definitely contributes to the learning curve.
It's very high skill when I set my lmb staff macro on max
Especially if you don't gunker.
(you can still get away with non-Psychic Close Quarter weapons, and arguably for the better since most of them give you more stamina bars to work with)
Which is the correct choice
Literally skill ceiling so low it somehow inverted planes
that's rly any class, but psyker has the extra squishiness to it
on the other hand, psyker doesn't need to aim
so for me that sorta balances it out on the skill floor side
voice of command alone is enough of a reason for me to consider vet low skill floor imo
press the button and you are probably contributing as much as a decent player
Weirdly, considering getting there needs a brief period of normal, non-upgraded Exec stance...that might lift it just a little
(I think for the first...15 ish levels?)
ok if we're considering skill floor of like an unleveled character, idk how to judge those
nah, just lv30 fresh player, how long it takes for them to get "good enough"
i would rather talk about how well some new person would do hopping into a built character, because honestly i have no idea what the leveling process is like
I think it'd be smth like veteran ā psyker > zealot (barely) > ogryn
From longest to shorted in terms of āgetting good enoughā
Honestly i have no idea how to judge zealot skill floor
from what i see, it either clicks or it doesn't
Zealot is
Quite easy to pick up?
200 health off the bat and great stamina management
Also tons of attack speed bonuses
Itās very safe
yeah maybe the bad ones have horrible builds
With zealot or Ogryn though I always feel this invisble pressure to be good at what I am doing.
probably because I have seen enough vet complaints lol
Ogryn is prob the hardest change my mind
If we assume they're just handed a good build, i think zealot is relatively easy
agreed
...damn, all this talk is gonna make me hop on for a bit before my jogging session.
I don't play ogryn enough to know
I want to say the skill floor is slightly higher because i think I suck at ogryn
Ogryn is literally my second main

And I unironically think itās like a Heavy of this game
Easy to pick up and master
but then again there are builds that are stupid easy
have u ever played psyker?
this brings me great pain
Yes, Iām referring to Ogryn
I feel like most psyker builds are easiest to master by far
Ogryn is genuinely easy to pick up and Master
I think quell cancel takes time to master and that's more or less fundamentals for psyker
idk ogryn just feels very clunky to me
Unless i'm doing some cheesy build like gungryn or an unkillable melee ogryn with fnp and i barely need to pay attention.
Maybe those are just the normal ways you're supposed to play but idk it feels like i'm doing something wrong by relying on those.
Karsolas
oh i guess that's true, and there's also blitz canceling with ek staff rmb if we count that as well
It feels wrong to say i can play ogryn if i can't even play the majority of their weapons well, so i guess that fucks with my perception of ogryn ceiling
or maybe their weapons just aren't balanced
lit turn off brain mode, everything dies Ogryn:
No trample??
no
Why
i lit only use charge to reposition or cc
u can remove unstoppable for it if u want
i lit just stack toughness on the last 2 points
Also idk why flak on pickaxe
Itās over guys. Reddit says brutal momentum is a wasted slot
Doesnāt change breakpoints iirc
cleave
Maniac is kinda better
ur kinda better š
Maniac gives u easier Dreg rager 2 tap
And potential mutant 1 tap
With enough blessing stacks up
With maniac, Karsolasās overhead heavy does ~3601 damage on mutant weakspot
Without heavy hitter, headtaker or slaughterer
ill give it a try
Doesnāt BM give basically infinite cleave if you just hit heads?
Iirc itās full damage on four heretic heads
So yeah pretty insane
but i understand cara is useful at hitting the one shot breakpoint for crushers
Yea I bring a veteran min-max energy to other classes where I exclusively build for breakpoints on important enemies

maybe i can go all in with unyield š¤
but without thrust i dont think its worth
Carapace for crusher 2 tap on heavy sweep with max stacks
Maniac for Dreg rager & mutant
I kinda donāt care
Branx Iād only use with gunlugger just for carapace damage
Branxās -0.2 sprint speed is a deal breaker for me
No
Because plague ogryn is not threatening besides being able to throw people out of the map
Iād go thunder hammer on zealot then
This talent is usually bait
Bonkinator
Crunch on Thammer go from one hitting bosses to one hitting bosses -1 talent point
worth to get the overkill stats on scoreboard š
What a nightmare match I just got out of, but probably my hardest carry to date.
If there werent 3 psykers I would of been out of ammo for sure for most the match
What build?
Keystoneless recon
Nice
If ur not hitting at least 500 lesser enemies each game on Psyker, just uninstall
Sorry skill diff

Well there were 2 psykers dead for most of the match, like we would literally rescue them and they would be in within 2 minutes every time
Kept together for the final boss at least
The full build
Avg performance psyker
Imagine playing the best wave clearing class in the game
And u don't wave clear

in my experience Trample isn't really that great, because the way you ideally use Charge is different from how Trample WANTS you to use Charge
Fair
you're either doing short bops to CC a dangerous mob pile off your team, a longer rush towards a gunner emplacement, or just emergency repositioning. In all cases, the number of targets you're gonna hit is going to be iffy. Trample wants you to go headlong through dense mobs and potentially get into a bad spot
I wish they didn't shit on Charge bleed
The cat icons discussing balanced in a civilised and informed manor
Average veteran chat discussion

Guide says unarmored/elite/flak/maniac for perks on plasma - that right?
No
It says unarmored/elite + flak/maniac
Itās actually 3 combinations in the end depending on whether u take superiority complex (talent) or not
Without: unarmored + flak
With: elite + flak/maniac
Thereās a reason I write it in 2 separate lines
I do have it, so flak/maniac it is. I assume that gets some nice breakpoints?
You still would have to run very specific talents for breakpoints
I see
You need
5% ranged damage nodes (x2)
Precision strikes
(Superiority complex) changes whether u run unarmored or elite
Fire team / redirect fire
If u miss a single one here youāll miss breakpoints
This means plasma is very limited in builds
If u want survivalist, u have to have focus target
If u want weapon specialist, u have to sacrifice survivalist
When you say Fire Team are you referring to Focused Target?
Iām referring to the middle aura (+5% damage)
Ah, okay.
Basically, u have to have either middle aura or middle keystone, on top of mandatory 2x 5% ranged damage nodes and precision strikes
Right now I have Survivalist and Focus Target, with 2x ranged damage nodes and Precision Strikes.
Okay, cool. I know none of the breakpoints, so it's neat to see that I was pretty close to on the money regardless.
How's this, then:
Oh, the last point went into the TDR node after Superiority Complex
no immunity to suppression?
1 free point, put into what u want
Plasma gun is innately suppression immune
ah that makes sense
Oh, alright, thanks. My plasma isn't a perfect roll and is missing 9pts in ammo, so I'll go with Fully Loaded. Cheers!
This build uses unarmored + flak
Yeah, I figured since it lacks SC
Excluding DS, what melee should I try next? I typically prefer horde clear
Rachad
I hope they keep it
You should get punished for getting hit
Itās too safe if u keep the charge even if u get hit
I'm trying to cook up a build for a psword and bolter for a newer player
imo it should only turn off if your combo stops
Then itās working as intended because getting hit does reset ur combo (for every melee weapon)
Scavanger, shout, and focus target thatās a Bolter build for you⦠unless you wanna go mroe melee then its weapon specialist
yeah, no issues with its current "issue" though I wish it was a bit clearly what a "combo" is
I've heard a variety of ideas on the swap speed talent, does it work for bolter and helbore?
Works, doesnāt do a lot
yes it does work on them
can someone share a good voc build?
its only really useful for helbore and bolter
