I get the ones that blame everyone else when they go down quite a bit
Role playing ogryn are a good laugh tho
does anyone have any tips for using the combat shotgun?
I find that an Ogryn’s skill is directly proportional to how much they commit to role play. I have yet to find evidence that disputes this
shotguns in general or is there a specific one you want to know about?
The combat shotguns in general, not the double barrel. I'm using it to level up and am just finding them in general a bit underwhelming
level up the combat shotgun I mean. My character itself is level 30
I find the one with the slug to be the best for general use. The slug is basically a revolver shot and you have the option to mag dump if things get hectic
use full bore / no respite for blessings
some people use executioner’s stance to kill things at longer ranges, but I find that the focus target keystone to be sufficient enough
100%
Facts
For the pinned guide, is there a key as for what the red, yellow, dark blue, and light blue backgrounds mean?
hacker?
the double barrel.
I'd not dump ammo personally but that's just me
That looks goood to me
yeah you either dump thermal or charge speed depending on preference
red, newly added this patch
yellow, old single tier options, now multi-tier
Thank you.
usable but if u want perfect roll it needs a super specific distribution
80 dmg, 80 stopping power, 80 ammo, 69 thermal resist, 71 charge rate
it's the only weapon in the game without a dump stat
prolly cuz it’s the only one without mobility kekw
nah, helbore doesn't have mobility and it's got clear dump
mobility is not always dump either
Heh, I'll have some fun with it. I'll reroll perhaps later
what weapons dont dump mobility?
Why is cleave targets the dump stat for the power sword rather than mobility? I guess with brutal momentum and powered attacks it adds no breakpoints?
laspistol dumps stability because half the reason to take it is to zoom and also i can't tell the difference between 60 and 80 stab on it
power sword
chainaxe
shotgun also dumps stability
bolt weapons seem pretty good this patch
for p.sword its cleave targets (correct me if I’m wrong) and I assume chaxe has defense as a stat
bolt pistol dumps collateral
ya
defense is such a meme stat
Why is that, if you don't mind my asking? I enjoy knowing the Deep Lore of mechanics.
how impactful is the jump from 60% mobility to 80% on psword?
duelling sword often dumps cleave damage
I've always had mobility around 60% on it
only on mk4 but that’s the mk you should be using anyways 🤷
i also have a ... whichever mk of duelling sword has defence + mobility stats with penetration dumped for speed memes
because going frm 10.9 to 11.7 cleave doesn't make much difference overall
azreal mentioned dumping cleave damage for BM and cleave targets for sunder power sword iirc
dclaw also dumps cleave targets iirc instead of mobility
okay that’s kinda strange. I’d have to see the number difference
You really only dump cleave targets with like BM tbh
Or well weapons with BM and you plan to keep BM on it
Or Deathblow if you use Heavy Sword
they should’ve just called it BM but heavy sword had to be special
Literally it’s infinite cleave as long as you keep hitting headshots so like
You may as well move the stats into Defenses or Mobility for movement or well stamina
You think that's funny, go look at shred on force swords...
someone told me that the cleave distribution difference isn't that big in practice but i also haven't tested it myself yet bcuz loadout config is apparently still broken
Same blessing, same amount of crit chance, but it has a completely different icon.
damn psykers…
lol, i thought it was the icon for blazing spirit going off when i was testing the meme force sword at start of this patch
very confused and then i finally looked at the list of icons...
Been running the Double Barrel for the last few days with Weapon Spec and Always prepared, really liking it.
What's the standard setup for Double barrel? Thinking +25% Flak/Maniac and then Manstopper + whatever blessing makes sense.
Also, is the dump stat Mobility or Reload Speed?
Is Collateral actually an important stat on the Bolter?
idk about perks but dump reload if using Both Barrels (blessing) otherwise dump mobility imo
not really it still has insane stagger at 60%
Cool so I can live with this stat dist
I'm really liking both barrels actually, was thinking about Deadshot to just make up for the lack of scattershot
if you’re running weapon spec you dont really need deadshot or scattershot. That being said, deadshot would certainly help if you’re struggling to consistently get 3 WS stacks
What's the dump stat for the chainsword?
Also, what's the dump stat for Helbore?
Stability
Hardly moves even at 60%
Thanks!
I cant check the game atm but I’m gonna safely assume mobility
okay yeah with those options it has to be mobility xd
Dump for Plasma Gun?
Bruh
but if you’re not picky about perfect rolls you can dump either thermal or charge
based on pref
What FauxFox said, but if you want an easy/cheap option just dump charge rate
OK good, I happen to have 59% charge
Blessings/perks for it?
Perks I assume flak/maniac
gets hot / blaze away for blessings
Gets hot and rising heat or Gloryhunter or blaze away
I’d only go gloryhunter if you are using exe stance to compensate for not having a toughness-generating ability
So the general pick is gets hot & blaze away?
that’s the general consensus, yes
Gets hot and rising heat is the meta
there’s other good options like yeah rising heat
Rising heat let's you hit BPs by managing high heat, blaze away let's you hit BPs by mag dumping
Plasma is funny
For perks you want flak and either elite or unarmored, generally
With plasma generally you also want to use the focus targets keystone versus the others
But in general plasma is good enough that you can do whatever you want and have a good time
Gotcha, guess I'll take elite
I'm changing my plasma from elite damage perk to unarmored, because it lets you 1shot body shot the tox bombers, otherwise it takes 2 and the first one knocks him over and makes him hard to finish off. And tox bombers need to die yesterday or the fuck your shit up
Generally speaking, are there any 'best' weapons for Veteran or are they all pretty balanced?
“tox bombers need to die yesterday” amen to that
Plasma, revolver, Vraks IAG, Rashad, knife
Most weapons are pretty balanced
Zarona revolver, plasma, and Vraks mk5 are vets top ranged options
There are only a few outliers
I know revolver is better, but I have been enjoying the bolt pistol
there’s a lot of “S tier” vet weapons and the fact that everyone will give you different answers is proof that they are fairly well balanced at least at the top
"Different answers"
Cool cool, basically play whatever is fun
Zarona Revolver, Recon Mk XII, Vraks Infantry Autogun, Plasma and Rashad Mk III Combat Axe are some of the strongest weapons right now
The only really weak weapon is the Shredder Autopistol
am I wrong?
I doubt anyone contests that zarona revolver, plasma, Vraks mk5, Rashad Combat axe, and powersword aren't at the top
some people would put recon and bolters in there
Boltpistol combos with Shredder Frag Grenade and Lethal Proximity (with more grenade talents like Tinkerer, Demo Stockpile, etc.) to be one of the top performing Vet builds too
The only "bad" weapons rn are tac axes and they still work
Yet those same weapons still appear
I've seen telopots on YT do some work with Bolter
It recently got a massive buff
Seems very good
Performs very well now
Boltgun is definitely much better now yeah
how many weapons must we add to top tier before we start listing everything in the armory
??? You act as if I listed even a quarter of the weapons
Tbh I try to list the top 3 or top 5 weapons LOL
Don't argue semantics on irrefutably true things
But a lot of stuff is really well balanced right now
Almost everything is A tier, the s-tier list is the same 5-6 weapons as it has been for the past 12 months
sigh.. the point is that everything is viable, can we at least agree on that?
Yeah you can even run Shredder Autopistol in Aurics if you're silly enough
Don't use it in no ammo Maelstroms though
I still find it funny how much they nerfed autopistol
I didnt even like it before the nerfs kekw
It was something insane like effectively -50% damage
They didn't have to do shredder pistol that dirty 😔
true
I still need to try the heavy sword
I keep putting it off trying new builds
Heavy sword 9 feels pretty good
I wonder if I should subject myself to lvling normally or just mass dumping like 100 weapons again
I keep switching between two heavy swords because I cant tell the difference between them xd
I knew it was worth keeping every weapon since release 🙏
Probably moveset differenences
defo the case
one of them has a vertical H1 and horizontal H2 + H3 that chain infinitely and idk which mk does that
Same lol. I maxed my mastery after the patch without playing a single mission
I had enough greens to max everything
Interesting, will have to keep an eye on that
That's the mk9
Such is life
At least now you can earn it again in the name of the Emperor
only in death does the grind end
In case anyone doesn't know, greens and oranges give the same mastery, you get more mastery the higher the rating of the weapon and if you're sacrificing a weapon of the same family that you're raising mastery for. Save your oranges for selling to get plasteel
"End of the grind gamer" -The Emperor's last words to Horus
Oh I just selected everything on my screen lol
Iirc I sacrificed roughly 400 or so weapons
A small loss UwU
You get like 3-5x mastery if the weapon is the same family. E.g. sacrificing recons for recon mastery
Yeah...
Some weapons I gave more attention than others
I think I had to sacrifice like 60 items or something stupid like that for the bolter
As I used it once at lvl 15 and never again
The first time I've used a bolter since release was yesterday 😩
You only need like 3 high rating green bolters to raise your bolter mastery 1 tier. So like 20 and you're maxed if you started with any mastery from blessings
Heh 😎
But the "throw everything at it at random" approach works too if you don't care about your resources lol
As a lvl 600 vet, I may have neglected the bolter
Yeah...
600? Damn. Do you play other classes?
My vet is like 240. But my account level is like 850
Solely because I wanted to understand why they were so shit in QP
I like Vet c:
did you find out why?
Ogryn would probably my 2nd I had to
The other players are dogshit
I was expecting no to be the answer but this is acceptable too
"Oh my ogryn can handle Damnation at lvl 11"
I had to beg players to not instantly level upon seeing me in auric damnation
It was funny
When I leveled my second ogryn I was hard solo carrying lvl30s through damnation at like lvl 12
"I know what it looks like but trust me I have a positive IQ"
This was when Ogryn has the funny pre-nerf "bleed upon heavy attack"
I probably wouldn't try that shit now
Zealot was mostly me abusing eviscerator stagger + flame nades
And using the slug shotgun for when vets don't do their job
Allowing me to conclude "man the average player just sucks"
No psyker because I like guns
always has, always will 🚬
Gun psyker is very effective and fun, actually
Yeah but you need gaze and other talents
Leveling a psyker feels very bad tho
I guess I could slug it out until lvl 4 and abuse assail
But honestly it just didn't seem worth it and my brother plays psyker
So I can just hear him rant while he's in aurics
"Did they fix Warp Unbound? No? Then I'm playing Divinity"
What a chad
Me too

on vet btw how come tac axe is saying 32% crit? i took 5% crit node but crit mod is showing this, cant be right?
base is 12% + 5% crit node where is the other 15% coming from?
my guess would be the Crit Bonus stat on the weapon itself
idk if it goes as high as 15% tho
taxe has a lot of crit
could inspect it and check the crit bonus stat. 15% sounds about right though
🤷
oh weird
must be a blessing from the god emperor
what if you empty your tree?
will try 1 sec
My personal build
if i empty tree i get 15% crit which is even weird cuz base weapon is 12% so where is 3%crit coming from
does vet get 3% bonus crit to melee weps or something?
5% class base crit chance
5% crit chance talent
12% tactical axe
10% desperado
Recon Mk XII
With 3 points leftover to spend as you like. Can get Skirmisher and Weapon Specialist if you like the extra melee and ranged attack speed. You could go Focus Target and Redirect Fire if you want a tiny bit more damage. You could even skip keystones entirely and go Superiority Complex, Bring It Down and Marksman. Spend the 3 leftover points to suit your playstyle.
OMG DESPERADO IM SOO DUMB
You have options
oh
when you say class base chance thats vet getting 5% crit to axes or all melee weapons?
because weapon-innate-crit-chance is only applied when attacking
should just be all weapons
veteran innately has 5% base crit chance for all actions that can crit
thank you Hammer!
veteran is 5%
zealot is also 5%
psyker is 7.5%
ogryn is 2.5%
math maths
oh psyker's is higher? I thought it was also 5%
u can get to ~50% crit chance with tac axes in combat
if u run shred that can go as high as 82% I think
with such high crit, is Slaughter Spree worth taking on tac axes (Brutal Mo. + Slaughter Spree)
how would i get survivalist into that?
it's not horrible
but it scales better for zealot
cuz zealot can force melee crits with FotF
veteran still has RNG
headtaker seems more stable and i get no value on monsties or carapace
Can't go wrong with fire and chainsaws 😎
but crits funs
this guy knows his stuff its almost like hes updating the current vet guide or something
yeah its a shame he's an imposter
remembering the days wheres i just saw a cluster of numbers for their username
thanks again for clearing that up
I am updating it rn lol
lets gooooo
spree is better or mk4 how comes?
is this the best stat distribution for this?
IV can't proc BM on bruisers
and IV's heavy attacks are pure vertical overhead/uppercut
so u have to light spam
and light spam doesn't activate BM on bruisers
ah
Yah
shred + slaughter spree is a lot of crit chance for free
on a very heavily crit orientated weapon
best hellbore? need to finish the mastery
could a case be made to go headtaker/shred instead of BM on mk7 tacaxe?
BM is just too good
i gonna try mk4 i only tried mk7 cuz it naturally rolled well but i never tried other mks yet
blessings*?
Never sleep on BM
maniac + unarmored
surgical + weight of fire
it’s just so busted
outside of IV, I wouldn't ditch BM
tac axe cleave is just horrible
Shred HT is better on IV
ill muck around with mk4 see how it goes
shred + slaughter spree is pretty fun too
perma-crit
crit is fun
This only leaves you with 2 extra points to spend by choice but even then you can still get either keystone or ignore keystones to spend the points elsewhere
Unless you want to keep Krak too
Ooh recon build
Keeping Krak only leaves it with 1 extra point to spend
But keystoneless is still valid with the Recon Mk XII so the last point is probably best spent in something like Desperado or Bring It Down
You could make an argument to skip shocktrooper imo
So 69% thermal resist on plasma gun gets you 1 more shot before needing to cool down?
Already made one
Without Shock Trooper the Recon Mk XII makes the entire ammo supply vanish fast. It's a lot of investment into the Recon and if it hits red without tins or packs in sight you have a gimped talent tree for melee. I wouldn't recommend it tbh. Shock Trooper, Rending Strikes and Onslaught are the core that holds up the Recon Mk XII to be the powerhouse it can be. Reciprocity is icing on the cake
And you need some sort of crit chance to make Shock Trooper work too. Reciprocity is just an easy one to justify for Auric Maels
Headhunter is ok if you pass up Reciprocity
Deadshot is a bad pick for the Recon Mk XII imo
Run this with base VOC and you’re just as unkillable
It's funny but requires a lot of juggling
Fucking hilarious taking barely any damage with no golden toughness
exec wepspec bolter goes hard
god damn, the bayonette fucks
is the bayonette damage the same on all versions?
same between IIIa and V
IV has a much worse bayonet
bayonet atk has high single target sustained dmg & stagger, low cleave and abysmal cleave distribution
it's good for duelling dreg ragers and that's kind of it
Lasgun and Shovel is betta than anythin elts. thats why they gev em to ya at the staht otha gaem
Ogryn has infiltrated our lines

af i wer a og-run, would thay 'ave givun me so much medals fer shootun an akrucy an such?
Whats the best combat axe Mk?
define best
For my perposes I want to have a melee that'll one shot ads for usage with a hacker and melee specialist
rashad
Rashad
It’s a turn your brain off and win melee
Brutal Momentum + Headtaker + 25% Unarmored
You’ll 1 tap bruisers
Peak, thanks
III
What to pair with vs unarmored? vs carapace?
U don’t have to run unarmored, it’s mostly a QoL perk
I use carapace + elite
It’s mainly a for a BP against bruisers
So typical trash mobs swarm you at all they get instantly deleted
can the mk4 tacaxe stagger a rager i ssee this in the vet guide but does that mean i have to complete that combo to get a stagger?
this feels really good with BID thank you, sorry for the slow reply i was in a run
No, it means any special hit (regardless of 1, 2 or 3) can stagger on any body part
White is guaranteed on any hit, yellow is Weakspot aka headshots etc, red is inconsistent results for Stagger BP charts
Yellow means u have to hit weakspot
Fucking speaking of I need to do Falter BPs
siiick
Red is either too slow to take effect (cannot immediately interrupt) or too slow to pull off (long animation windup)
I’ll do it when I have ordos to blow
thankyou!
I was being dead serious I’ll do it
I’m going to 100% all the classes first with mastery then I’ll do it lmao
Main resource limiter for me rn is diamantine
Diamantine gain vs spend rate is the worst out of the main resources
And I’ve been crafting a lot
still watching people skip pickups of diamantine on runs, see they look right at it, its in the box, dont pick it up
I’d argue ordos
But it’s mainly cause I’m still blowing them on like mastery
After I godrolled plasma it’s been just going up
I’m like 95% done with Zealot
Granted, I have every weapon at full mastery
Then I have to do Psyker from scratch and I’m done
I also use mastery skins for every weapon
I tried using it
I still hate it
I wonder if braced autoguns are actually viable
Bolter literally just feels better
Surely agri mk8 could find a place somewhere
If I want a
Saves 2 points
Fuck that special over there gun
Mechanicus painted guns
Least impressive Boltgun killfeed: scab shotgunner x12
They just look so good
Actually look like finely crafted weapons
Instead of worn & torn field gear
If only we had a mechanicus class
But I can't imagine how a mechanicus guy would become a reject
failed mechanics ...
Skitarii got caught being silly
Techno-Heresy
Although I guess the AdMech would probably handle that in-house
Can't even imagine waht kind of abilities would admech class have
i want little servitors with boltguns as my pets =e
I want a field engineer branch for veteran if they ever do career expansions
Like VT2 subclasses
Give me deployable barbed wires and AT mines
Pray to the Omnissiah and grant yourself and all allies in coherency a +100% fire rate boost for 10 seconds. Or damage instead of RoF, whatever
The chaos spawn shall fall.
+100% firerate is crazy
Pray to Omnissiah that allied guns do damage
Recon players eating good if that's a thing
this + PBB would be silly for ogryn
Yeah, it was just an example, I didn't balance it at all
Heavy stubbers and pbb would be wild
Screw pixel perfect sniping. I want that direction gone!
Sah, removing that way sah!
Brautos are fun.
What if, instead of a tech priest or whatever, the 5th class is a combat servitor? Lots of potential for understated humor in the voice lines, good build variety options.
what's the best % bonus for main stat on a curio from the armory? for example, is 15% toughness the highest to get from armory
Toughness is 17%
can get 17% from armory?
4 attacks str 4 dmg 1 ahh character
HP 21% I think. 2 1 wounds, 3 stam
+100% fire rate on a Recon Mk XII might make the game break LOL
I don't think the game could handle it
2 wounds don’t exist
No? My b
+21% health
+17% toughness
+3 stamina
+1 wound
It could but it wouldn’t like it. Legit laser pointer
Ye
great thanks
The whole clip gone
Tbh it would just be funny to mess with other people by using it at random
+100% fire rate and jumpscare people using automatic weapons
Bolt guns mag disappearing and ur reticle going to the ceiling
Stack celerity stim and Weapon Specialist ranged attack speed bonus with it just to see how fast you could kill a boss
Race to see which hits 0 first: boss HP or the Recon Mk XII's ammo
Boltgun has almost no recoil in exe stance
Both simply cease to exist
Agri brauto is still the best one ye?
Ya
How do you see your uptime on e.g. reciprocity -- is there a scoreboard like mod that tells you uptime % ?
U could use show crit chance mod to see when it’s up
Or like do people actually consistently look at the tiny almost invisible icons and memorize them
I do
Any of y'all have tips for speedrunning Damnation on Vet?
Pray
don't random queue
How fast are u doing damnation on avg and how much damage do u take
whats the dump stat for plasma magmacore
thermal resist or charge speed, your choice
None
It’s the only weapon in the game without a dump stat
its gotta be one lol
Perfect distribution is 80 damage, 80 stopping power, 80 ammo, 69 thermal resist and 71 charge rate
Nice
U can get a usable one with 80 damage & stopping power
But it can be far from perfect
what blessings and perks are good on the plasma?
I’m going to mail Wolfer a Krak Grenade
Unarmored/elite + flak/maniac
gets hot + rising heat/gloryhunter/focused cooling
thanks king
what are the best perks for hoard clearing on a power sword?
Power cycler + brutal momentum, but don't listen to me I know nothing
as close as I've gotten for plasma... If only the thermal and charge were reversed on the one.
never activate the charge (real)
True actually
Munitorum Mk III/VI Power Sword ❌
Munitorum Mk III/VI Sword ✅
Battery: dies
Sword: improves
ngl I hate the feel of having to charge before swings so much that I'd rather use this than ever pick up a power sword again
The first one (68 thermal) might work
Max power and see if it’ll still get 8 shots out
I don't usually run PS but the bruiser horde condition missions are CBT without it
With good randoms, about 25 minutes to half an hour
I'm on console so I can't put together an exact number for how much damage I take, but I'm usually pretty good at avoidance and I generally only get downed if I miss a dodge on a squishier build
Oh! I’ll give it a shot
We can play after I’m home in a bit
25~30 mins seem avg
The plasmag gun certainly is something
Like, I absolutely love that weapon and to me it's the quintessential 40k gun
Even more than the bolter
But come on, even I want to see it nerfed
It would be so simple to nerf too, just tie the cleave to the charge level
I maxed power and it actually ended up having the right stats! Thank you for recommending to do that ❤️ .
See if it actually can fire 8 shots consecutively
Hopefully it does
it can!

7th shot brings it 94 and the 8th to 100 🙂
Power cycle/ slaughter.
Take flak and maniac and learn to turn your mouse with the swing of your sword
Brutal momentum outperforms slaughterer for horde clear
What would be my options for an ammo efficient anti-shootout weapon
Kantreal MG La is a reliable one
Semi auto vigilant
Accidentally took my Helbore into a Damnation instead of my Boltgun
Ngl, performed better than I expected
which one is this again
did they change its name
I'm not seeing a vigilant in the names
Vigilant Autogun is a family of weapons.
I may be stupid
ty
first try
I have literally never used this weapon before so this should be an experience
I should probably give Autoguns a swing sometime
I toyed with Braced Autoguns for a while but then discovered Infantry Autoguns and Columnus
Didn't look back
Think this gun might be exactly what I'm looking for, it even has Ghost
Is this fine for a Plasma roll?
yea
If it doesn’t change stats during empowerment, it’s basically perfect
Gucci
@tall torrent is this 69% lying to me? I thought it should go to 0.19 at 69% rather than 0.20.
Max empower and see if it can shoot 8 times before needing to vent
Only way to tell
Because the 8 shot breakpoint is somewhere like 68 + decimal
So my safe recommendation is 69 thermal resist
Thank you
You should do opening salvo and ghost :)
Also god damn those perks
I love it when I get queued into Hi Intensity Damnation with two sub-30s
I have thought of Salvo, but i already 1 shot everything.
So i need more armor punching with crit hits against Maulers/Crushers.
What difficulty

Okay
And yes, this is bad-A AF!
Long shot?
Makes sense
I haven’t used lasgun since the bolter came out
Not the deadshot on mk9 😭
Also by everything do you mean all elite specials
Anything but Maulers, Crushers. Everything else takes about 1 shot.
3 3 3 Stamina.
About?
Yea, Muties, Bulwarks, and Reapers takes more than 1 shot.
But all Elites and Specials die in a head shot.
Why don't you take any damage modifiers against what you just listed?
MF
Because I alreay punch hard as it is. ANd i'm not going to go Carapace with my Lasgun.
Depending on damage breakpoints you might not need em
Wanna Q up together~? >:3
Base damage or exec stance
Exce of course.
Now everything makes sense
Still able to crank big numbers. And each day, my accuracy getes better and better. Really good at landing head shots! +
Still, name me a better Lasgun, i dare you, i double dare you, you MF!
It feels so damn good.
Think about it. 45% crit chance, instantly going to 70% if target survives head shot!
Doing the math, I hardly ever not crit on my 3rd shot.
Infantry Lasgun Mk7
Flak Maniac + Opening Salvo lets you oneshot elite/specials without exec stance
Swapped to an M7. Ain't bad at all!
Hmmmm!
And miss out on my crit chances? As if!
You have headhunter
Give me a sec, let me tick this off.
You could probably use it on 2b
But recons or boltgun really enjoy deadshot
Recons for crits because infernus
Boltgun for recoil decrease
not worth
exe stance does what deadshot does for boltgun but better
as for recon u just don't need deadshot
infernus is not that impressive because of the 12 stack limit
I think i'll keep Deadshot on.

deadshot is peak copium talent
That may be, but it helps me keep my shots in line. I already tried weapon specialist with this. I do feel the difference I feel like.
100% crit chance? Can punch really high with it.
You're already killing shit with regular crits
Oh wait, you're right!
this is the "somehow some way you have 200k overkill ranged dmg with infantry lasgun" set-up
For this one, I could tick Unyielding instead.
I'd suggest ghost just to trivialise shooters and gunners
nah it's just flak + maniac
Yea, you got a point! Frick!
Like, i can score over 2k with Agile Engagement.
get the 10% rending talent in middle tree
and drop killzone/opening salvo
double dipping between 2 of the worst veteran talents is crazy to me
u can also drop shock trooper since u already have survivalist unless u really want to minimize reloads
confirmed kill is also just usually better than exhilarating takedown
I just get both for my lasgun build
better pathing, better sustain
Lmao
I genuinely cannot think of a reason to grab exhilarating takedown now
Well
worst pathing of all starting talents
and u can run ghost to tank ranged enemies so it's not even necessary
O4B is also just better
I have thought of Ghost actually. Since I am getting better at landing headshots.
My issue with confirmed kill is having wast a point on Longshot that leads to a dead end.
well
Oh wait
respec and take middle starting path
longshot + exhilarating takedown is the worst starting path for vet
Oh... well lol
I mean, any further away from the left side, i may as well stick with my Plasma/Power Sword build. I'm going for full on Marksman with this.
You just don't need longshot
Suffice it to say like uhh
20% damage tho!? Impossible!
Out for blood will actually give you like
Survivability when you do land headshots with MF stacks
It's overkill
And... you need to be reeeeeaallllyy far away to get 20%
It’s not 20%
It’s +0.6% ranged damage at 13m
Scaling up to +20% at 30m away
I’ll let you think whether that’s worth spending a point on
The issue with it is, you're running mf, so you're fishing for headshots
From 0~12.5m, Longshot does nothing
To kill all elite shooters and regular shooters
Been doing this for lasguns
https://darktide.gameslantern.com/builds/9d35540f-b697-4055-81a0-7e5d47706a63/poster-boy
Regular shooters die without long shot
And most dredge gunners will die with a headshot
Without longshot
Middle path is better cause you get damage reduction AND confirmed kill
I think u can drop ammo, superiority and stam regen delay
Which just inherently makes you tanky against the targets you're already shooting
And get some melee stuff
True.... true...
Let me rework this build, see how the test run goes.
But I ain't getting VoC tho!
If i did, i may as well keep going full on melee.
Exe stance is actually same point cost as VoC for builds that take survivalist
Because u don’t need any subnode for exe
It is great!
VoC takes gold toughness, exe just flat out doesn’t need subnode
They end up being the same point cost
Like desperado?
I dunno
There is an argument now to go left path for O4B now that switching weapons with "One motion" doesn't end your exe
That depends on what u want for melee
Standard shovel served me well
Desperado is so OP
Since o4b increases all your toughness gain from MF.
best perks for combat blade? Crit and something else?
No, but this build, is 100% marksman stuff only.
real
if they're all left tree they've saving an extra point tho and losing it if the deviate for VoC from Surv Aura/Shredder Grenade though
Maniac unyielding
No melee whatso ever!
Carapace + flak/elite/stamina
and losing the extra point for duty and honour too
Or that
Nah wtf
Just do middle path
Maniac does nothing for knife (on vet)
bro hates ragers
If they take survivalist, VoC and exe have the same point cost
But then again if u take survivalist you’re probably playing ranged veteran or plasma
Something does not feel right.
Elite hits the same breakpoint, and knife is inherently RNG heavy
if you take surv aura and then go into VoC you have to spend the extra point deviating from left tree into the 5% toughness node in middle and another point to get duty and honour
What cha" mean?
they can skip Stockpile and take Team
Yea, u can drop the shooter highlight node for 5% crit chance
both feels sorta overkill unless it's a Bistol Lethal Proximity meme
Sorry what
Or maybe an extra 10% rending!? Ehh, ehh?
you're spending the point for Stockpile always, I'm saying you don't have to
Or maybe twin blast......
and not going after Stockpile saves you 2 points
You don't have tinkierer either
Keep in mind, this is a full on Lasgun build.
Lethal proximity isn't a meme
you need a form of grenade regen, you don't need to get both Stockpile and Team
Twin blast is MEGA meme, saved for bistol lethal proximity build (which I'm using)
it's a very fun and effective meme and a legitimate build
It’s too good of a node to pass especially for frags
the meme is that the blessing makes it very funny for one very specific (and probably unintended) effect with Shredder Frag Grenades LOL
It is a meme because of tapping run and gun for the bistol
But let's give this a shot.
You already have 10% rending in middle
Yea, 20% rending. Good bye armor.
I noticed.
Wait if you don't like crushers why not skip demo and go krak grenade?
And counting on RNG to get half of ur rending bonus is definitely one of the choices of all time
depends on how often someone is using frags and if someone's mainly using it for rescues, making space when ragertide appears, etc. sitting at frag grenade cap through a lot of the map feels weird
no tinkerer and 1 frag isn't going to kill a horde other than the groaners/poxwalkers standing face next to the blast so you need to double toss if it's to wipe out a horde/mixed horde and outside of bistol that feels kinda weird to invest that deep into shredder frag grenades
That rending only really matters vs 2 enemies (mauler & scab rager), and you’ll be forced into melee with them eventually if you run infantry lasgun regardless of ur headshot skills
with tinkerer 1 frag will bleed out poxwalkers/groaners iirc? but then if you're Surv Aura into VoC it's even more points to reach
The gun still sucks vs crushers and you’re gonna melee them regardless
Oh, you mean, the extra crit for melee then?
5% crit chance is one of the best luxury points u can get
Always active, benefits both of ur weapons
CitA is really, really strong though
the hard part is just building and maintaining it when you need it most
if you can juggle MF stacks it's nice to have
Think of it as “crit twice as much with ur melee across a mission” because ur base is 5%, and this gives u 10%
It does appear that I hit 100% heat at 8 shots, so I guess it's in the good zone.
I take it on my Recon Mk VIc and Recon Mk XIV since Onslaught is eh on them both for their lower fire rates
full auto head height and the stacks are here
It’s not worth 95% the time
And is just a worse version of rending strikes
most guns don't need the extra rending on top of Rending Strikes
for that that can benefit it's really nice
Solved all of my Carapace armor issue with my Lasgun now. Thanks. ❤️
Lol
It exists and makes the two other variants of Recon extra funny
Why Killzone + opening salvo
I don’t get it
Neither do I!
This is so much better
I just tried to be funny!
All u needed to do was dropping shooter highlight for 5% crit and you’re done
Is brittleness even good against monstrosities?
Depends on ur weapons
If ur weapons suck vs monsters (low unyielding damage), yes
Otherwise, no
ok thanks
depends but sometimes yeah
Recons benefit with it vs Unyielding
Boltgun takes the funny Shattering Impact blessing for magdump memes into bosses too afaik
brittleness is just rending but teamwide
Boltgun doesn’t need
you benefit but so does everyone else
doesn't your guide recommend Shattering Impact as one of the blessings for Boltgun
what is it for if not for boss magdump memes
Also, extra nade because they're too good.
That’s exclusively for crushers (1 less shot to kill)
shattering impact is just onslaught brittleness but in blessing form
I wrote puncture/surgical/cavalcade + pinning fire/shattering impact
Inf Lasgun.
But tbh I think puncture + pinning fire is best
But what else was it? Flak/Maniac, and what?
no surgical on Boltgun is sadness
Flak + maniac, headhunter + ghost
Yo here's an idea
Opening salvo instead of headhunter for IX so u can still 1 tap outside of exe stance
no need if you take deadshot
Drop marksman's focus
U don’t need the +1 nade, keep camouflage
No
I meant
I kinda wished mf would stack if you just hit a headshit
Do keystoneless
No, just no need in general
Oh, I mean only on recon
what if I said I like to have both because I view Deadshot as less time spent ADS to get a guaranteed crit when Deadshot is active?
I realized exe stance Boltgun just doesn’t care about crits for breakpoints
And exe stance completely removes ur need for deadshot
I legit want to do this. If you're up for it, i'm down.
So I dropped surgical altogether
I mean my lasgun build is keystoneless
Fitted to fill my needs :)
So is bleed better for boltgun than shattering impact?
Camouflage!? Over Long Range Assassin.
Usually yea
Yea
Crits do more bleed stacks trust
What
What does that sentence even mean
There we go.
Bro thinks he's melee zealot
Crits deal more bleed stacks if you have a way to deal bleed
This is not lie or misinformation trust me
NOW Let's try this out.
i thought shattering was the main boss dps tho
I love propagating misinformation
Whoever told u that has no idea how brittleness works
I wonder why no counter fire
I mean, i wish there was a video of these sort of tests easily accessable and pinned here on Discord.
will it make it worse against armor without it?
For extra cits.
Just take camouflage over LRR
That's what i took! lol
You take 1 more headshot to kill crusher in exe stance
Swap deadly accurate for headhunter
I wish!
But u kill basically everything else in 1~2 shots
It usually takes me two or three without exe
For opening salvo*
Not having +crit chance while running deadly accurate is definitely a choice
Take opening salvo instead, it’s better for IX
U still get occasional 1 taps outside of exe stance
On damnation?
Isn't opening salvo not very good on infrantry las?
ye
Why
Show me
It's mk9 we're talking about
hold on gotta clip it
Ya it’s not very good
But IX is the worst variant and wants 1 taps at any cost so u have to cope
The best variant is IIb
Mg4?
2 taps with exe stance, fastest firerate, largest capacity, never runs out of ammo, instant sprint to fire, fast ADS move speed
Well, i got opening Salvo, but now i got 1 point left to spare. Hmm
The extra nade is tempting again.
Oh wait, that's impossible now.
What 1 point spare
Opening salvo (blessing)
Not opening salvo (talent)
Removed that +5 crit chance.
Oh lol
5% crit chance is good
I use this for 2b. What do you say?
https://darktide.gameslantern.com/builds/9aa29726-c30a-4f57-ac9f-c429bc669d34/my-job-is-gun-lasgun-veteran?utm_medium=website&utm_source=gameslantern&utm_campaign=share_button
Oh Wow, but are actually named that. Crap
But playing deadly accurate without headhunter is crazy
Nah
Just go exe stance
Ahh, true, true. No point it in if i'm going Ghost. So Opening Salvo (Blessing) is the perfect way to go. I gotcha.
Yea see the problem here is that ur gonna miss breakpoints on other important targets
Flak + maniac allows u to 1~2 shot everything important
And having or not having shattering impact with that perk set-up is only 1 shot difference
You wanted a full marksman spec veteran, but it is prob the worst way to play vet rn
Oh yea, totally.
Exe Boltgun/Boltpistol go way harder
I mean, if i wanted to win, i'd just go Power/Plasma. But you know... Lasgun!
It already does 1-2 shot everything but crushers and muties
Mauler 2 shot?
sometimes 2 sometmes 3
More of a weapon specalist kind of guy. But I really want to shoot atm.
Yea that’s the difference
U could push Boltgun into 1 bodyshot territory on most high value targets
nvm it's 3
And 2 shot maulers
Shattering impact is just very low value overall
Only matters for 1 enemy and only improves 1 shot to kill
I'll test it out real quick. See if i like it
You know what i just figured out?
I think puncture + pinning fire is the best set-up
The fact that i was running a bad lasgun build and was still doing great. DAMN i'm good!
Veteran is like that
I'm telling you, all grey and no talent run! I can totally do it with a competent team!
And i mean everyone doing the same thing too.
Puncture + Pinning fire + Flak + Maniac right?
wait we are not using surgical?
U don’t need to
doh
deadshot is what I use for a similar effect
unless you're using exe stance
not necessary but I like running voice of command
And exe is basically the best way to play Boltgun on vet rn
quite true but randoms are interesting
I do like the change thanks
was running crit boltgun pinning before the new blessings guess puncture pretty good for it?
also probably helps keep boss damage high
bleed stacks refresh pinning?
Boss damage is high regardless of puncture
No, but pinning fire buffs bleed damage
intriguing, gonna try some
What's best for dueling sword?
The garbage
But I don't know lmao
i think the mk 4
the middle mark
has do stabbing heavy attack
I mean blessings and perks
uncanny strike, riposte if without recipitory
with reciprocity use the uhhhh the one tier 4 grant 60% finesse damage
the perk be flak and maniac
I find maniac and unyielding works really well
is riposte or reciprocity better for horde clear?
yeah i guess
which?
reciprocity when you want recognition (finesse damage), riposte for when you want save points not lean on right side.
Ooh the chainsword is FUN
@shadow fable i fix some sentence i was confuse there moment
That was fun
Going back to Power Sword and Plasma tho
So yea, in the morning i saw that Power Swords had an issue? They sometimes don't activate? Is this true!?
Ye
None kek
The weapon itself has bad horde clear
But I bet on Precognition
Ok I'm kinda confused, the green recon lasgun (VIc) has lower damage and higher rof than the tan recon lasgun (XIV), but the green one has only 636 reserve ammo compared to tan's 852, why is this?
Balancing
Does it have a better crit chance or sm?
So FS just did an oopsie lol?
XIV uses 2 ammo per shot, VIc uses 1 ammo per shot
How does the power sword perform
Excellent
mk6 better than mk3
Rashad lite
But costs less talent points to be good
Every melee weapon performs well. Try them all and pick which you enjoy the most
from my experience it works really well when the run is going "smooth" but goodluck when youre trying to clutch
Also @tall torrent what's the website u were involved in making that had more in-depth stats and advice for all the weapons?
Sorry for ping but it seems rly helpful
Not a website, it’s a MS word file
It’s not finished but most stuff are ok
It's better than me having to bother you or others each time I have a question lol
I remember that sunder mk3 is an actual build
Is the exploit weakness talent good against bosses?
havent heard much of this
dont know many people who use sunder mk3
General question, how often do you take twinned blast? And how often do you take other grenade talents, like grenade tinkerer, etc. at all, or instead?
twinned blast is pretty mediocre, i almost always take demo stockpile and field improv
Im finding that I do that too
Hm
I have reviewed both chainsword and power sword
I will be taking the devil knife
best to avoid imo, it's not that great
I was hoping to increase melee damage against bosses
depending on your build you're better off just grabbing ogryn damage from the middle tree
Bolter go brrr
Already got it
Nothing is more fun than screaming BANZAI and then charge the enemy
