This is neat
I might be able to sneak in a quick Darktide match before work depending on how quick these end up being
operation where we save pinned down 21st guardsmen
The train thing sounds fun too
And some sort of new auspex mini game
The hint at it requiring teamwork sounds like it may not be something you can just leave one person to do and forget it
Maybe like that prison martyr's skull where you have to time the button presses to get past the glitchy jail cell door
So what you're saying is... you have it, another vet has it, you're not good at using it, so the team definitely gets use out of the other vet using it
That area frightened me. It made me genuinely nervous moving through those back rooms.
I felt awkward trying to coordinate a pug into doing it LOL
Half the time people would already drop down just after the buttons and if even 1 person has pushed down then it wouldn't be worth staying behind to try
Had a group that was just as curious as I was fortunately. Really loved finding that skull. It felt like a genuine mystery discovering that space.
Easy to fix, have a good team lacking of knife zealots
I had a few initial runs with people when the update was fresh wanting to explore the mysterious new hole in the wall and figure out the puzzle
But I remember the timing being messed up with the door and it getting stuck too tightly closed
It must be a nightmare for people suddenly returning to the game trying to get that one done LOL
Nope! I never got around to doing it
what are lasgun BiS blessings?
Your combo is one of the best for
headshots
Click on head win
Biggest compliment and gamer can get
Perk though do Flak/Maniac 25%
Deadly Acc + Headhunter
really good combo
on my pysker so id just shred it but, was gonna pick up for the blessings
I've- yet to get hackusations
Idk if thats a good thing or bad thing
i didnt know people did that in this game
I've gotten praises for clutches though
i usually just get shit for playing the "lazy pysker" while im near solo carrying the auric mael lol
š¤Ø
im like 2 rooms ahead and killing the entire room with dog horde with knife and shotgun
you me a vc now
Is it bad I scream shit like āGIVE THEM STEELā or āMAKE HELL HOT FOR THEMā whenever a massive horde occurs
No, you should do that
GIVE EM STEEL
Full video is holdfast in a nutshell 11

itās a good thing
I have a clown nose on my desk and I honk it if someone dies in a funny way
It's definitely not bad for you to shout enthusiastically about killing things
My ass over here bayonet charging the fucking exploder:
I get engrossed in the role of a screaming drill sergeant trying to boost moral in Darktide
Same as when I play Ogryn, I have the innate urge to literally jump infront of pals under extremely heavy fire
Regardless of how low hp is
My duty is to my comrades
Regardless of the risk to my hp
Been using the chain sword on my vet since I started playing since I just love the flavor of it, recently grinded out PC III for PS MKVI, and I donāt know if I can go back, Iām just a light spammer so tossing in some specials in there makes me feel like a melee master even though the dodge is no bueno
Chainsword with Trench Fighter Drill and Weapon Specialist feels so good
All that melee attack speed turns you into a living blender through hordes
well one day, we'll have to get it done for you
I got almost all the melee weapons in Space Marine 2 to relic level now
thunder hammer sucks, power fist sucks even more (except against single targets), and chainsword is the best (and melee overall feels bad)
Maybe one day
Iām running both rn as Iām working on adept assassin with the Zarona on some shock troop heresy as Iām getting a feel for the play style
Sometimes I just forget I should be shooting specials cause the melee finally feels good on a vet
I've been mostly running Lawbringer Shotgun and Agni Shock Maul for Signalis vibes because that game hurts
Time for max cleave
The Power Sword literally roleplaying as a lawnmower:
one of my favorite playstyles, give it wrath or savage sweep, and then bloodletter for revved hits and it cleans through the elites in a horde too
Luv me cycle charge
I have not tried the shock mail yet, maybe after the patch Iāll grind it out
Maul*
Whatās the build for that, Iām running shock maul and kantreal shotty on my vet.
shock maul is... kinda like the chainsword
a dependable melee useful in all hands
Wait so the patch removes gambling with brunt?
I'd recommend the Agni because the moveset is more comfy and my brain could never wrap itself around the Indignatus moveset
L1 -> H2 loop feels good for wide cleaves through a horde plus if you ever accidentally loop into overheads you can just hit heavy until you see the horizontal sweep then swap back into alternating a light swing to return to horde clear
Thereās typically too much going on for me to think about melee rotations, thatās why I like the XIIIg CS and now the PS VI cause I can just light spam my way through a horde
Also feels fun for bonking Crushers and Maulers imo
You can say that the Indignatus moveset makes you downright... indignant
Devil Sword parry is still my favorite melee play style to handle them
This is what I've been using
I like how comfy it feels swapping with Always Prepared every other poxwalker kill to quickly reload the Shotgun during intense moments
I also like how addicting 3 hyper buffed Kraks feel into a boss LOL
Shock Mauls have awful Unyielding damage
Lawbringer does ok damage spamming shots into boss weakspots but Kraks are my main way of working around how bad Shock Mauls are vs bosses
The extra attack speed from Trench Fighter Drill and Weapon Specialist feels very comfy on the Shock Maul too
No thereās still some RNG with weapon stat distribution but since everything goes to 380 u just need to look for ones with good distribution
You could go down Fire Team and VoC instead to save points and grab Demo Stockpile instead of (or inaddition to) Demo Team if you prefer
I just like having Infil for melee
No more āah shit >70% of the stuff I bought are under 350 ratingā
If someone goes down across the room and I'm in melee I can just vanish and nyoom to the rescue
Maaaan you aināt lying!! Mine is similar
Name checks out
Grenadier is too comfy for Krak
Love having the extra in reserve
Oops All Crushers moment in a match turned into Oops Some Crushers
Sometimes you just don't feel like fighting 3 Bulwarks clipping into each other either
YUP. Good ole grenadier build, got me through auric exemplar and hopefully ASS soon lol
Is Survivalist worth it? I feel like the 5 second rule is bad
Considering how most elites come in bunches that need to be killed fast
Like a bajillion shotgunners or maulers at once
Depends on ur ranged weapon
Itās still a lot of ammo throughout the course of a mission
But you may not need it
It's nice to have but not the clear best aura anymore and the pathing to get it is awkward unless you're already going down left tree. If you are going down right side tree I wouldn't worm it up to reach it
Paired with shock trooper on my Vld build I feel like I donāt need many pick ups. But I donāt notice not having it on my other builds.
I assume shocktrooper is picking up the slack there honestly.
Yeah Shock Trooper is doing a lot of the heavy lifting but Surv Aura helps too
You running exe stance?
left or right side tree?
I feel like whatever would save you talent points.
And what grenades you like too.
Voice of Command
On Recon Lasgun VId, do you want Deathspitter + DumDum? Or Infernus + Headhunter
I would say yeah get it if you are using kraks/shredders and running VOC. I wanna say the two talents above surv are pretty decent too. Thatās a questions for the smart vets in here.
Any of those are will work with each other iirc, I run DD & HH.
SNEAKY CAT GOT YOU
Like Infernus pairs well with headhunter iirc
I'd say Dum Dum + Headhunter tbh but those are both ok! If you're good at maintaining high stacks of Reciprocity then Deathspitter + Dum Dum is better but if you're not a fan of Recip then Headhunter is a very solid choice to keep Shock Trooper procs consistent
Infernus is a bit less damage vs Dum Dum for most ranges since the change to close damage but it's not THAT much worse on TTK vs most targets so if you like settings things on fire make the heretics burn

Also yeah definitely do Headhunter + Infernus if you like Infernus
what causes the occasional faster reload on iags
so just sprinting at the tail end of the animation
Or quick swap
I feel like I do that way too often for how little I see the faster reload
I guess it must be real tight timing
Itās a very tight timing
What is reciprocity
this talent
What's the most based melee/ranged combo on vet frfr no cap
think its just me lately but
I feel every other class is so limited compared to veteran
not nearly as good toughness retention, most other class abilities suck compared to shout, plasma gun is literally the do everything gun
i dunno, the ability to one shot anything kinda helps a ton
and not dying from one mistake does wonders too
shredder + default shovel
frfr
Standard Shovel and Autogun š
Plasma and VoC are just way overtuned at the moment. Don't worry, the nerf will come.
Next year
Lol
What fresh hell..?
Same reaction
Talent near the bottom right side of the Vet tree that gives 5% crit chance per stack up to a max of 5 stacks and 25% crit when you dodge through an attack. It has an 8 sec duration. Things like Ghost and Stripped Down will proc it afaik. It mainly procs off of melee swings but you can also get stacks from dodging non-elite shooters. It's finicky though and doesn't always award a stack or refresh the buff when you might expect it to
It takes time to practice to get used to it but it's pretty strong
Stuff like Headhunter has less value the higher your crit chance. So if you go crit chance weapon perk on the Recon Mk VId, Reciprocity and get the 5% crit talent node and can maintain Recip stacks well throughout a match Headhunter will provide lower value
If you choose not to go crit perk and ignore Recip then Headhunter will be doing a lot of carrying for crit chance to keep Shock Trooper crits rolling with more regularity
It's more of a playstyle thing because some people dislike the conditional aspect of needing to trigger dodges to have reliable crit chance
Vs like just aim head height and Headhunter keeps rolling crits
Plus with how talent tax heavy the Recon Mk VId is for most builds with wanting Shock Trooper, Rending Strikes and Onslaught you may not have the extra talent points to spare and all three of those other talents are higher priority vs Recip imo
Thank you for the clarity you bring
Welcomes I have had an unhealthy obsession with the Recon Mk VId for a long time
I know right? Every time I thought I seen everything I remind myself an UwU speak mod exists for Darktideā¦
I've never been more flabbergasted by a mod
Somehow this chat is the least degenerate
So what's your take, take Headhunter and ignore reci, or go reci and replace HH/Infernus with Deathspitter/Dumdum?
Mind you, the least =/= not degenerate
ā¦so I read up on the new mission
I can finally feel like playing a 40k game of a 40k action movie
(Darktide is definitely very 40k gameā¦but not necessarily action movie)
So reci + DD/DS
is the way to go
Yeah I pretty much always take reci, then just keep going to the left side of that right tree into Weapon Spec. On pretty much every build. Its just too good
I hope it doesn't and they just make everything else less shit at what they should do
even solo it can't guarantee a win in some scenarios
yeah, I saw that
i think its also VoC with Iron Will that is busted
Iron Will makes veteran incredibly tanky
a gunner doesnt get to just shatter your toughness in one volley with it on, where other classes can kiss 120 toughness goodbye just because
also has absurdly good toughness regen perks in just about every tree
Veterans somehow the tankiest class
Veteran chad
It should be ogryns.
nah, they just dont get to be
Bruh
because no, and no other reason
Vets should be best at ranged damage
Only that
second is ogryns
For balance
I mean, as a vet main, I obviously love being super tough and hard hitting
Psyker just kinda does everything
Vets are best at everything what are you talking about?
Four vets is a blast every single time
I think ogryns should have the most beefiness upfront, and hardest to pin down
Depending how you build them
yes, but worse and slower
Literally

Sorry at work! Had to dip away for a minute. I run with Headhunter/Dum Dum personally but have a love for how fun Infernus is for the visual effect. It all comes down to whether or not you like and can make good use of Reciprocity. If you dislike it then keep Headhunter. If you like Reciprocity then you can ignore Headhunter
Uh
Plasma gun > psychic powers
omnissiah wills it
Reciprocity is strong but benefits more from being an aggressive Frontline fighter
Sorry psykers. Pick up a gun, nerds.
Those are tools that are both used differently in scenarios
That's the only way I play tbh so I always take it
It has some anti-synergy with stuff like Psyker Bubble and Tauntgryn because you want to keep the danger on you or you'll drop stacks
Axe go choppy choppy
I love being on the front-line
I actually really like the plasma gun for sniping.
the average gun is far too heavy for a psyker to wield
But you can keep away from the bubble and Tauntgryn to find other threats on Aurics always
Crazy how people wonāt run precog and repoist with that and the Weakspot damage perks
Crazy
plasma gun is also helbore, but better
It just. Ignores cover and can one hit most things.
it doesnt have a draw time, for some fucking reason
plasma gun goes through cover?
helgun has to flip the switch, set, then it can charge a shot
Sometimes yeah
I can't stand the charge time for the hellbore
if its hard terrain, no
most terrain it can clip through it
People dislike conditional effects. Fun is subjective. It differs from person to person. But more importantly what is optimal is not what everyone finds fun. Just because something is the strongest outcome doesn't make it the most desired outcome
How
Combine with exe stance, become the hand of God.
And what is optimal for one person is not always optimal for everyone
top off toughness with curios, perks, and toughness reduction
Very playstyle dependent imo
you can negate being blown up and not lose hp
tho its not as reliable as just shouting
Dayum
The best I can recommend is that things are not that big of a difference and it more so comes down to how you prefer to play
To be clear, I don't run plasma gun. I just appreciate what it can do.
If hellbore didnt have an obnoxious draw time, I'd actually use it
because it looks cool
and feels fun to shoot
I run Graia Autogun and power sword
dear veteran
you do not have to cock the hellbore every time you switch to it you karker
Hate the chain sword it has no good movesets
Agripinaa braced Autogun is also very strong
Then it's just a worse version of the infantry lasgun
ā
its alright honestly
I love MG12 infantry lasgun
Chainsword works for me
Chain axes are pretty cool but my pick is the knife or mk4 dc
How so
Whoops
I like how simple the Mk XIIIg is tbh. You can just spam lights through hordes and alternate pushes/dodges as need. The Mk IV has the really fun push attack thrust that feels really fun when you Rev for a shredder thrust strike
Oh damn
Not even bait after using multiple weapons and seeing what works and what doesnāt thatās what I came up with
So i should use Columnus mk 5 infantry Autogun
whats your criterias for "working"
Keep in mind if youāre good you can make anything work
Lol
Biggest bait
To see if can do well in aruic maelstrom
it does alright

Player skill doesn't matter when you are mediocre like me
You can run Shredder Autopistol in Auric Damnation quickplays if you want to LOL
No
Yeah but there are other things that do it better sadly
Stop it
I've run it before and it is very funny but also you definitely feel how much weaker it is vs other weapons
Get some help
I will say it looks cool
no
It's too late for that
The clown costume is on
It doesn't come off
I'm also a clown
you can pry this autopistol from my cold exectuionerās hands
Iām a diddy disciple and youāre my next victim
so I tried the Collumnus 5 for 48 hours, and THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED
What
Weird question
I will expand your walls
Lol
If the Shredder Autopistol is the weakest Vet ranged weapon what is the weakest Vet melee option
I am in your walls
Standard shovel
I love my Power sword
Uhhhhhh any shotgun thatās not the double barrel
none of us can read
Lol

Don't scare the clown we need her to explain things
Is that really the weakest melee option? Even worse than Catachan swords and their weakness to Flak or Chainaxes?
Shovel is pretty ok
Standard issue has a good moveset
Not the best special attack
I want to say the catachan sword?
Though tbh it's probably good that the melee weapons are balanced enough that the only complaint I see with any vague regularity is that Catachan swords struggle vs Flak
Nay the mk4 dc is undoubtedly the best weapon on vet
The awesome mobility and amazing moveset
Soon vet will get more melee options
Yeah itās good until you run out of dodges and die then leave
I'm excited because I seriously doubt they are properly balanced
have you tried limbsplitter + all or nothing rashad with skirmisher
sprint and do the one swing then keep using only ranged
Bruh, it cleaves through hordes so nicely
Ws for the win then
If you play perfectly itās the best weapon
Wait who said the shovel is the worst?
Is that good or bad because I don't toy with the Rashad enough to know LOL
It sounds wrong but I don't know enough to say it is
Idk
Just keep in mind of dodges and build block and sprint on curios and itās good
Like Lacerate Knife or Tanner saying Uncanny Knife is wrong
But mobility is essential for survival
Is shovel better if you are noob like me
Do i donāt really like the pw
With or without blessings
Itās alright
Mk7 shovel
Itās true Iām a noob
Then what's the best melee
Idk Iāll have to look I canāt remember it off the top of my head
Rashad/PS6
I got power sword 6
Do you have pc4
Yes
Then you're set most of the time
The devils claw mk4, the other knife not the mk3, chain axes, mk6 pw, and the reshad mk uhhh 2? 3? Canāt remember the number
I try making recon feel good, and it just doesnt
Best way to build the pw is BM and pc
might just be I don't have consistent aim for longterm dps
What pw
plasma is instant and I have much more success with it
Knives and chainaxes are niche
Surely not best
The mk6
What
I use shovel as my go to melee, it feels great for hordes and to one shot most things with the pick mode
Knifes are literally meta
knife is def the best
What is dog smoking
chaxe, yea, they have their ups and downs
weed
Up until you meet a horde
Which rashad or ps6 just melts
knife just has a big gap between the average scrub using and building one vs someone who knows the combos and best blessings
Uhhhh
ALONG with crushers
It's good for crushers
building into rend helps one to two shot them at times
Knife doesn't have fast horde clear but it absolutely clears everything else with some of the best dodges and animation in the game
I am not denying that mk3 is good against single targets
The mk3 is better than the 6
special combo or PA combos
It clears pretty good especially the new knife
new knife is fun for hordes
Nay
a little atk speed gets it going and it melts hordes
Yeah because of itās moveset
Mk3 Heavy into PA my beloved
I prefer the mk6s versatility
I dunno what it is...ugh
recon just doesnt kill fast enough at times
but its fun running a bullet hose
I hope the rework makes it much more enjoyable and possible
Itās the lowest ttk weapon in the game
I have a lot of scuffed guns
Ever tried HH+fire stacks on mk6 recon?
Shredder pistol:
I remember old autopistol
Shredder is not faster at killing elites
thing was so good, then it got turned into shit again
Lowest time to kill
At it's rightful bottom
As in the least amount of time
you sacrifice your horde clear just to say āfuck this guy in particularā in possibly the least efficient way
Autopistol used to be good at killing stuff
Shredder kills gunners and specialists
I forgot low ttk = less time to kill
Rare balanced ranged weapon
then it became some wimpy stagger machine and thats it
Good point. That does change things. I'd probably say non-troll set up so with the right blessing combo they need because Knife without Uncanny is awful vs armour and a meme build with Haymaker + Smackdown doesn't really feel representative of the weapon's true potential
combat axes are decent
No blessings
Oh with no bless
Like straight up grey axe
poop
0 cleave gaming
Grey Rashad is probably the worst feeling weapon in the game yeah
No cleave, struggles to kill armour and the only ok selling point is it can stagger well
No
i have a legitimate answer
Yes but no. I have all class penances but I do not play the other classes with any knowledge or mastery to give build recommendations with any confidence LOL
Best I got for now
Uhh. Anyone else?
Yeah
I'm a filthy Zealot "main" š
I play all
š¤„
Basically, of the new melee weapons vet will be getting, how are they? Good? Terrible?
Heh
I never used them so I have no idea
Dueling Sword is AMAZING and tbh I think it feels like a better Knife. Heavy Sword is apparently insane for horde clear
Really good the dueling sword mk4 will be godly
Let's just say every class will look like this after the patch:
I see
I adore heavy sword
Heavy Sword is one of the Zealot weapons I didn't play with as much as I should have
There's nothing more enjoyable than winding up the overhead heavy with it and one shotting mutants and dogs running right at you
With vets Weakspot perk, and precog + repoist itāll be broken
also two taps ragers with special alt and overhead
I like how the heavy sword looks, I made a zealot specifically to try it out but don't actually like playing zealot all that much so never got that far
staggers and leaves an easy followup
Along with others ofc
Vet will be eating very good with the new melees
New thammer buffs and changes might make me play zealot again
I'm curious how the meta hunter gang will chase breakpoints on the Dueling Sword and Heavy Sword considering how much power Vet gets in the talent tree for melee
Hsword is a great horde mulcher that annihilates mixed but stops dead on carapace
A crit zealot already messes around at 90% crit chance lol
And the other is zealot
Zealot should have a bit more beef on him imo
if he had a bit more toughness reduction to play with, I'd like it more
The scrawniness is a testiment to his zeal
Too bad he's a melee focus with toughness problems
Talk to the clown
meanwhile, vet:
She figured out how to make recon instakill
From what I can tell, playing zealot is all about damaging the endless hoards of enemies faster than they can damage you
hot take, but martyr zealots should take zero chip dmg
Which variant?
it is annoyingly detrimental dying to chip while fighting hordes
6
VId
look above of my one roll, I have another, but it has t3 crit blessing, so I am hunting for a t4 blaze bless to make up for it
think I'm up to 54 rolls now
A range focus with insane toughness Regen.
Rending Strikes, Shock Trooper and Onslaught are the most important things to grab for the Recon Mk VId. Rending is AMAZING for all variants but the Recon Mk VId is the only one to get good value out of Onslaught's brittleness stacking to double down on it
Shock Trooper is to help alleviate ammo concerns and to let you have more time firing between reloads
Unfortunately all three of those talents are deep into the bottom left, bottom middle and bottom right of the talent tree so it makes for a steep talent tax before the weapon begins to really shine
How does the talent that puts ammo in your gun for melee kills stack up?
Marksman's Focus + Chink in the Armour for the extra rending would be my must have grab for keystone if I wasn't broke on talent points by the time I pick up the three vital talents first LOL
I remember testing it out and found a way to endlessly hack and shoot poxwalkers with never needing to reload
Weapon Specialist is my personal fav for pairing with the Recon Mk VId since the extra firing speed is addictive
It also stacks brittleness from Onslaught faster
I'm actually excited for the update but I know full well it will break something until they fix it
This is what I tend to run with my Recon Mk VId
If you prefer Reciprocity you can drop Close Quarters Kill Zone
If you run Reciprocity you can drop Headhunter from the Recon and pick up Deathspitter instead
they nerfed its good blessing and then also nerfed the thing into oblivion
Its one of the guns of all time
though you could make it work on zealot
No shout?
I'm excited to pick up the piss filter ult again
Used to use it on shade zealot a lot
you can just move the exe points and demo team
I still use it on zealot, its bad but doesnt really matter on zealot
las pistol is my pick
also why does kantreal exist
also works
acc is just better
it exists so the 40 year old dad gamer can larp as guardsman
You can go Voice of Command if you prefer but then you would need to go down Fire Team and Krak to save talent points on the way down
killzone, exe, relentless, and demo team is 4 points you can swap for 5 tdr, stockpile, voc, and duty and honour to keep the same shell
Like this! And it saves you the point off Demo Team by grabbing Demo Stockpile on the way down instead + works with Reciprocity and the 5% crit chance talent node
You can swap the 5% crit chance node or Reciprocity to Marksman instead if you prefer but I feel like they're extra necessary for keeping up damage with VoC
Between the two I'd say Recip is more valuable vs the 5% crit node and I'd probably run Marksman over the 5% crit node instead
I am hit or miss on demo team
But if you don't like Recip gameplay swap it off for Marksman
its good on stuff with ass tons of elites tho
Itās good especially in auric malestrom
oh for sure
Think about how many specials and elites you kill and such
Then again I take field imporv over it
I prefer Demo Team because I don't use my grenades often enough for Stockpile to be ticking constantly and I dislike the feeling of being at cap on reserve grenades knowing I am wasting value on Stockpile by not using one even when there's no need to
It's just clown mental gymnastics for why I have a preference LOL
Stockpile is definitely better in most cases
It's just deviating too much away from Surv Aura and Exe Stance to justify for my usual go to build
any reason to not take superior or bring it down?
I plan on swapping Kill Zone to Opening Salvo when Unlocked and Loaded drops to buff it to +10% crit chance for the first 20% of a clip
more dmg to elites and ogryns/monsters seems helpful
Not affordable for the build with the steep talent tax and I feel the other talents taken are much higher priority
Marksman is more damage vs Superiority Complex and with how often VoC can be used with Tactical Awareness you get pretty strong uptime with it
I agree 100% ohmygosh
Skirmisher is ugh but it's the best path to Weapon Specialist from Onslaught
This is why I grenade spam so I never waste a free grenade
My pain in a single sentence
I usually use my Shredder grenades defensively like creating space vs a horde of 8 Ragers in my face or pushing enemies off a downed teammate to use the stagger for a rescue. Sometimes I just go long stretches without feeling the need to use them
Kraks go out whenever groups of Bulwarks/Crushers walk in and I want to thin the herd a bit or for chain stunning bosses
Woe, 20 ragers upon ye
I use Kraks a LOT more but then that would be a slight talent tax to eat before going left tree and that loss of 1 point would hurt LOL
Plus Krak without Grenadier always feels like it doesn't feel so good
Krak Tinkerer Grenadier Bring It Down Demo Team my beloved
That would turn Krak grenades into boss killers
as i chase the penance, im begrudingly coming to accept knives on zealot.
Point economy concerns
And some weapons donāt need superiority complex to hit breakpoints
that last bit felt personal
demolition stockpile my beloved
Which range weapon goes best with smoke grenades and a chainsword? I'm considering a boltgun
Revolver / laspistol
Since youāre probably going for a melee build with smoke grenade pathing
Range specialist branch
If you like worms Exe Stance feels very fun to use with Smoke Grenades and the Infantry Lasguns are my go to for that
But worms are bad
Chainsword, Smokes and Infantry Lasguns all struggle vs Crushers too which is painful
Maybe Helbore...
chainsword is a weapon I don't understand
On paper its like everything I'd like in a melee but completely falls apart in practice
Chainsword Mk XIIIg is just spam lights through a horde with Wrath and Rampage or Shred and only rev for biting into elites, specials and bosses with exception to Crushers and feels wild with even a little melee attack speed
Very fun
Chainsword go brrrrr into Bulwark skulls
And you get the funny rev attack on charging muties as they run past for that funny samurai kill where they suddenly stop after charging past you then fall over dead LOL
so satisfying
still new and getting the hang of things. Is a Catachan Mk III Combat Blade w/ 369 rating, and +25% Unyielding good off rip? vendor is selling it
haven't actually used any of the combat knives yet. besides random ones from when I was levelling
80% Damage, 70% Finesse, 71% First Target, 76% Mobility, 71% Penetration
What does ur tree look like
Right only
Pick it up man, have fun with it. @blazing notch
Dont change it. 369 is a legendary number.
3 legendary numbers, in fact.
Figured I may as well, I've been grabbing weapons with decent rolls even if I don't really use them often lol
I should have mentioned that 369 is the base rating
its a 394 bc of that unyielding perk
I would post pic but can't in this channel lol
you just gotta talk a bit more until they turn you red
Samurai duel kills my beloved
The only class in the game I would unironically use a chainsword is Zealot.
I just can't stand having to wait 3 seconds to take out 40% of a Crushers health bar
so what melee weapon to use for veteran with smoke grenades?
penance completion
tbh at that point any weapon is fine on the right side, but just make sure you have something like a revolver to deal with armored targets
tbh tho, right side is more of a speed running objective build because Vet Stealth is extremly good at doing investigate missions
I would use either a knife or Rashad, because both of those love getting those buffs on the WS part of the tree
hell, you can even just do a regular VOC build after you take the smokes
The unyielding is meh imo
The 76 mobility sucks
But the numbers are okay
This is aall in consideration for the item rework coming very soooon
I think this is the closest I've been to conking out
I wanna strip this before patch day cuz its my only missing T4, but goddamn, that stat roll...
Keep it weāll see how the crafting update like
Yeah I should be able to sack a few crummy oranges to make up the mastery (hopefully)
dont all the stats max out at 80%? that doesn't sound too bad unless that weap is very dependent on mobility
All stats max out at 80, but there's a maximum amount of stats that will max out
This iss the case for the crafting rework
that did not know
Yes but you only get 380 points, so 4 can max at 80 and the last caps out at 60
ahh i see
You'll have ALL stats equal to the maximum value, and 1 of the values will be at minimum 60
so and ideal weapon is a 380 with 60 mobility
I have a high roll in something that should be a dump stat
That one WILl probably have the potential to max out at 80
At the deficit of
One of the other stats being unable to be maxed at 80
š
Your roll is perfectly fine, all your damage rolls are over 70. It's not a perfect godroll but it is still a very good roll
Yeah it should be a decent place to start when I mess around with knives.
If you want to hunt for a perfect unicorn then 76% mobility is stealing 16 points from damage rolls, but that matters very little tbh
I played Destiny 2 for 3 years, i know unicorns don't exist unless you are willing to spend an obscene amount of time and resources for it lol
and even then, might never land it until you burn out
And warframe?
Majority grindy game are time and patience, it testing your patience
I didnāt have much patience after feeling burn out from grinds
how do I make the ia lasgun good
Deadly accurate and headhunter are good (I see you like monotone blue)
Fatshark really put "made to combat snipers" in the description of the Vraks headhunter, and then just never gave it a scope
Scopes are genuinely detrimental in this game
"I don't care if you're up to your asscheeks in enemies, your broke ass is using irons"
At least give a reject a reflex sight
Something with a sight picture that isn't dogwater
Not in my imperium
If you want it so bad thereās a mod for it
Even has scopes
(They are a bit fucky)
Yeah, but I have to use my gaming laptop for it
^ me after playing on standard settings for 15 minutes
i tried vraks VII with scope, stopped using them quickly after novelty wore off
I just noticed they changed power to strength on Marksman
it it a typo or does the node have a different mechanic now?
typo afaik
hmmm. to the psykhanium
Dont fix over a max overall, make sure the main three are solid and ull keep up. I got a las x with crap stability locked at a 350 overall but the rolls are so good it feels godly. + reduce sway perk goes hard w/it
Ur build can cover alot of holes. But you will go broke going for certain weapons
dude i need sway (or flinch? suppression?) so bad when I run my lasgun Ia. any time I am trying to kill a gunner who is shooting at me my reticle goes to space
Position yourself b4 u face them up.
think it may be a typo
I used to make that same mistake of trying to hab solo the storm troopers. Nah buddy
Gunners dont play
And shredder grenades
yeah that's suppression. you can use executioner's stance ability or determined talent below it to get suppression resist
Idk if its a perk, or blessing, or whatever that does it, but it is a huge issue honestly in higher tier difficulty because I need to be able to put them down quickly, especially if they are shredding my teammates
Suppression resist. need to figure out all the spots I can get it lol
determined is the way to go then
for reference that's this one
U got the right mind set tho. Alot of vets will go blind to shotgunners, gunners and let them advance but use cover. Dead shot? I think reduces sway and if u have spare grenades to stagger a pack b4 they get off a salvo theyre alot easier to deal with + reduces the ttk of dealing with them
I'm not on my Vet right now and I don't remember the names of the abilities, but right now i've been using the little AOE stun that refreshes toughness for everyone and rezzes teammates. I may have to lean back into the gunplay side
voice of command
If you want to keep using VoC then determined is indeed the answer for your problem
Or you might want to try helbores, they are quite resistant to suppression or damn near immune to it when charging up shots
They are indeed immune
It's the spirit of Krieg guardsman, banishing all fear from incoming fire
happy muffled gas-mask noises
Plasma instant vaporize gunners
huh, 1k+ hours in and haven't noticed that laspistols are also immune š
No need stand for 2 second charge up shot
Iāll use recon against gunner
Gunner vs gunner
can't forget about shredder autopistol, the best counter fire gun
It stagger enemy right? Against gunner and shotgunner?
this brought horrible memories of me with the shredder falling into an auric quickplay high intensity vent purge sniper gauntlet and finding my team of purgatus staff psyker, rumbler Ogryn and a Zealot who was also using the shredder
it was an awful time
LMFAO
Rumbler is funny
no one could hurt the snipers
they did not
Too busy trash killing then
they were Shriek I think because they never used BB or Assail
Shriek purgatus kinda wild
I have no idea what he was doing other than screaming and dying
it sounds like a simple life
worst memory is staring at a sniper line across the map knowing no one can hit it and we have to break dance into borderline melee range before anyone can hurt it
Multiple sniper and pack of crusher; good luck
nah crushers were ok because I ran the funny Exe Stance Onslaught Rending Strikes Shredder Autopistol meme build
dinky pistol melts Crusher faces off
Oh isnāt your auto pistol can snipe the sniper?
How far by meter
over long distances the spread makes it worthless
If you ping the sniper how far it is?
like the DBS it's really more of a flashy melee weapon
tbh idk how far it was, but definitely far enough that spraying the entire clip at the sniper didn't do anything LOL
even with Exe Stance
If is like 60m is too far
Ogryn can launch the rumbler like Bosnia artillery
Your teammate can be ignoring the threat level
Thatās be issue
If I in your game using my main loadout I canāt deal sniper with graia brauto and shredder grenade
I've managed to use Zarona mk2 and Lasgun VId/VIIa without supression immunity just fine, just need to paid more attention. Zarona in super rare cases could be annoying, but manageable and 1 point is 1 point.
can I ahve the meme build
these little guys need a build
Yeah, pretty much never need it if you just keep your wits about you aka don't get caught in the open with your pants down
caught in the open with your pants down
Chastise Zealot moments
this is the old build I found from reverse searching my chat history
zealots be like "who needs pants"
but tbh you could probably drop Deadshot and grab Demo Team instead
don't go Longshot and Exhil
truly a meme
it was a dumb meme LMFAO
go Close Quarters Drill + Confirmed Kill or go Out for Blood + Vanguard
I ended up changing Flak to Carapace for funnier TTK on Crushers LMFAO
thanks
Welcomes!
I did run it through some successful Auric Damnation matches so it at least performed ok there LOL
Even with the dumb Longshot/Exhil Takedown set up
but don't do that
ignore those two talents if you use the build and pick one of the other toughness options for sure
hey all, could anyone tell me what Deadshot's "Ranged Weapon's alternate fire" is? Is that just aiming? if so not sure why it is not just called aiming lol
Trying to build up some more crit chance and seeing what that perk is about
It's just aiming
well, for example bracing isn't technically aiming š
It's still hip-firing, indeed.
For plasma, it's a charged shoot
But, dont use it, just spam the basic shoot
Ahh so wouldn't want deadshot if I was using a Plasma Gun. Interesting
Hey, im red!
š
welcome to the club
still have the damn green flower though
it does not matter
don't worry, it will wither and die
i actually wanna go try brauto and deadshot
oh yeah that eat all stamina fast
(i meant the graia one)
3x +3 stamina curios and good to go
i did
Deadshot doesn't work with Plasma iirc
It's been bugged since forever
Charged Shot can be fun for one shotting Crushers and Bulwarks with the right build but usually you can just spam 2-3 light shots to kill them instead
and there's a funny build that can one shot a Bulwark through their shield using the charged shot
and then duck n dive talent + stripped down blessing
stripped down for sprinting
yep
and with that + duck and dive you got infinite stamina while running
so your dead shot is fully charged at all times
or at least after short sprint if enemies are shooting at you
well i just did my first damnation and it went well, but it made me realize I need to have much more punch for harder enemies when my krak grenades aren't up, and most enemies are just dealt with using melee anyways
So i was thinking about trying to have more punch on the big guys, cause using the lasgun on everything just takes so long
true, but the first rule of warfare is not to get hit ;D
but yea, that's always a solid choice
for overall survivability
I couldn't give more advice than that, I have a rather biased vision lately since I only play laser weapons and I'm happy about it, back to basics.
You always have the option of going beyond ballistics: Colomnus Mk5 or Agri Mk1, my heart goes to the Graia but it's stuck between two chairs and no one really recommends it. And I'm talking about assault rifles here.
for more punch marksmans focus build with agri shotty (my beloved)
Agri Mk1 is goated. full stop.
Shotgun are fun too
Probably still my overall favorite ranged weapon in the game. Will build with Exe Stance and WS after the update.
After I try the double barrel with the same setup that is.
just 2 manned a hi-intensity difficulty 4 ascension riser mission with this new plasma gun. holy shit was very hard but very fun.
Finally got my veteran to level 30 today. My first level 30. Public lobbies are a pain.
Congratulation
Lol, once you start doing diff 4s people start getting a comfortable level of competent, in my experience. But yeah 3 and below you'll either get great players or awful. Sometimes we gotta wonder if *we *are someone else's great teammates or terrible ones
I tried damnation when my vet was level 28 and got absolutely destroyed
My friend level 27 got ass destroyed on heresy
I took down to malice
Queue on malice is slow and low level there
Heresy has decent and high max level
Not always, I had some very bad surprises, even in Damnation, where players couldn't understand the fact that they had to switch to the melee weapon, even when stuck in a pile of mobs.
All while getting cut up. It's even worse when you discover that this kind of player comes empty-handed in Auric Maelstrom.
Or you spawn in half health and its total chaos and your like. This is fine.
What annoys me is sometimes you always get that one guy that sprints off and then moans when they get grabbed and you like "bruh you're miles away"
I hate them because it fucks the entire team
tends to happen less in auric as people arent typically there trying to speedrun for materials or contracts
I've only had 1 teammate that stands out in my memory for being so bad that I was like, why are you queueing tier 4 right now? he was that guy who never sprints, either is ALWAYS ranged or ALWAYS melee, and holds onto his ult the entire game waiting for the chance to clutch up and make his ult a big play lol
now level 30 should I bother with trying to find a better gun via brunts armoury or try and roll the dice on missions giving me good loot?
my favorite type of blueberry is the ones who melee 100% of the time on Veteran, and also never dodge š„²
Get brunt armory weapon need stock pile the dockets
yeah your weapon rolls are gonna be more powerful now youre max level
Focus on one weapon youāre investing
you'll be around for a while waiting for missions lol
There are better people than me here to advise you on this but for me it was spending a shitload at Brunts and checking the shops after each mission for a decent roll or a good curio
Just play your Vet, next patch will change everything on blessing and weapon.
I want a good plasma rifle and chain sword because right now the damage and stopping power sucks
have you used the plasma gun yet? some people are not a fan of its micro-management
Heats management
I like it though, just feels like how I had to play around the perks on my guns in Destiny
plasma gun clears, its not exactly micro-management if you spam the regular attacks instead of charging
I like it but I only wip it out on the elites or when people arn't concentrating on the snipers which normally downs them well. Other times i'm protecting the psyker with the chain sword with the mobs.
Leave psyker do their own rather protecting them
Yeah I tried a plasma gun when I first unlocked it and now I've tried a newer one with a good Thermal Resistance stat and it is night and day. When I first tried it, it was like 6 shots to 100%. Now I can nearly spam the thing
Just kill high threat target
thats how youre typically meant to play it, plasma for elites/specials and melee for everything else
I use the vet for like elite assistance and chain saw for mobs and now doing a second character of a zealot for mob support.
I only wish with the mutant bosses the plasma rifle did more damage when charged on them.
the amount of times i've charged it and fire and they'll be "that was a tickle, ima swallow you whole now"
You only do 3k dmg on max heat charge
taking the +25% Unyielding damage perk on a plasmagun and some skills for boss damage helps a lot with this
Exe stance double it up
also charge attacks on plasma just kinda suck so m1 spam is usually the way to go other than an opening shot
500 per 10 heats or 8 idk does more total than charge up attack
Until I just tried this plasma gun kit I really preferred my Zealot. It felt much easier on Zealot to have a high impact on team performance with good trash clear and that AOE stun + toughness overflow + invulnerability ult.
was previously "stuck" on veteran becaue my friends who play are Psykers, zealots, ogryn, etc. But now I actually like the little dance you do with the Plasma gun in exchange for its great performance
Yeah I need to visit brunts armory I think to try and roll a better plasma gun and chain sword as I am still using this heresy.
now i'm level 30
unless youre a fan of grinding i wouldnt worry about getting god rolls for weapons as the update next week should really help with crafting weapons
but buying a couple plasma guns to hope for a better roll than 299 isnt gonna hurt haha
a new plasma gun would be pretty huge for you rn, max rating for base stats is I think 380? so you could get like a 350 roll even and be fine (I mean you could be fine with lower but depends what diff you like to play on)
issue being next week all weapons will be theoretically upgradable to 380 so id say just find a decent roll and stick with that till thursday
can assure you they are not 1369 lol
I am doing a only a few heresy as lobbies sucked and was going back to malice to help out in the public lobbies to help people level up their low level characters.
yeah im excited for this
helping randos level up their characters?
Yeh
your altruism must have its limits sir
It's been pushed for sure
Just hop on heresy try the swing
š
I'm not going to lie the cold wind of chaos has been tempted at times
when i was starting out i found heresy more difficult than damnation to get completions on, which i can only guess was down to the people queueing
What I find difficult in random lobbies is people choose missions with the hound spams
thats just something youll learn how to deal with over time, multitarget weapons and AoE damage tends to stop hound packs really quickly
Free ammo
trick ive found is to try and get them to come through a chokepoint because life becomes annoying once they spread out
if you go zealot just throw down an immolation grenade when the groups of hounds come on higher difficulties, they'll just burn off you even if they jump on you without any allies needing to help lol
I kill so many with one swing as ogryn with BM slab club at the stair
I standing side at the stair an easy kill
specifically for veteran, shredder frags are very reliable at taking down packs provided you time them right
camping a chokepoint with melee also works
I am romantically attached to my krak nades at this point
except from some niche maelstrom modifiers ive always seen kraks as a stopgap for a loadout or build that cant deal with armour on its own
Frag nade the stagger
shredders typically have much greater utility
Smoke nade the invisible (to ranged enemies)
kraks are good
boss, carapace, bulwark
A clutter carapace is a satisfying kill
It routinely multikills those enemies when they are packed
Now that I'm on a plasma gun I may be able to use another nade, but man. I love these things. Focus Target, Focused Fire, Grenade Tinkerer, and Field Improvisation turns you into a grenade machine
kraks and plasma overlap in their rolls so its not ideal
Demolition stockpile
what are the perks of choice for VId Lasgun?
head hunter and dumdum
Yeah I just started using a plasma so sadly I may be saying goodbye to one or the other š¦
Oh perk
perks
Also I am pretty sure it's deathspitter + dumdum
+5% crit chance and then either carapace or flak
I did mention flak
Onslaught talent
run +carapace with onslaught and you will melt crushers
I see
I have onslaught with brauto graia and it kill good
If you run Onslaught, Rending Strikes and +Carapace as a perk you can melt Crusher faces off very effectively
what is the consensus on the Rashad Mk II?
I was just going to ping you as I remember you as the VId expert lol
Bonus with dead shot š§
Without Onslaught and Rending Strikes the damage is very eh
you need the rending too
can you please guide me for the perks + blessings
it has the potential to be godly but is very difficult to craft for certain breakpoints
Headhunter and dumdum you score headshot on big ass head ogryn
That HH proc crits a lot with high rof
@somber axle may I DM you? I can't post my weapon images here yet because no red š„²
you typically build the VId for high critchance and so the boost to critchance you get from HH is minimal due to the way crits reset HH stacks
Ik
You proc a lot crits on high rof
HH is better if your build has lower critchance by default
Very good one
this is a very very good plasma roll
Save it
noice.
That one without any perks is going to clear your 299 lol
I got something similar but I can't post it
rip
For the Recon Mk VId
Deathspitter + Dum Dum (With Reciprocity Talent)
Headhunter + Dum Dum (Without Reciprocity Talent)
Headhunter + Infernus
go with one of these but the first and second generally output more damage at most ranges and Infernus is more for funsies but it lags behind a bit (which doesn't noticeably affect TTK on most targets but will become noticeable fighting multiple beefy targets like 3+ Bulwarks, 3+ Crushers, etc) and Infernus needs time to stack to get benefit so it's providing little value vs weaker targets like Snipers or Bombers
Carapace, Crit Chance, Unyielding are all solid perk options depending on what you want to do. You can kill bosses surprisingly fast if you set up your talent tree for it and get Unyielding as icing on the cake but imo most targets die pretty quick so Carapace and Unyielding or Crit Chance will benefit you most. Flak or Maniac are ok but don't do nearly as much since even Maulers get shredded pretty quick by Rending Strikes + Onslaught under sustained fire
Didnāt the califlower cat said infernus bad?
Or was it plush?
infernus is sub optimal but is fun setting crap on fire
It definitely falls behind at most ranges after the change to close range damage but it's still funny imo
and not bad to have
I only have my VId locked stripped down
I got 25 manic and 25 carapace right now on my roll, which one should I change? I got tier 4 dumdum and tier 3 headhunter
not like sustained fire or punishing salvo because both of those are awful
It think keep the perk and try test in meat grinder
Yeah basically this!
less damage but very fun visual effect and it is still more damage and helps more on bosses
but what if i want to fire the laser hose in puny bursts for less dps and carpal tunnel
Stab yourself with combat stim
you'd get more value out of other blessings but I wouldn't nad haven't tossed out some Recon Mk VIds I've rolled with Infernus/Headhunter
That make more dmg optimial
What is good stats for a chain sword?
Cleave
Kantrael Mk IV with Weapon Specialist! I have been playing with that a lot more recently and it's really fun LOL
Cleave target something
Good stats
Nice mobility
not sure on the mobility
Mobility is a dumpstats
sadly probably dumped mobility to the point youre losing dodge number
which is not good
or this one
keep this for the update because when you can upgrade it you'll get all the stats to 80% and mobility will climb to get you the missing dodge too
@somber axle can you check dms please? I sent you the image of my VId roll atm
I'd probably use this one over the other for now if you don't want to wait for the update
The XIIIg are cc spam light attack which I use
That one if i remember is stick on enemy each light swing attack
general question, is there really a point to heavy attack besides being able to more easily control the direction for weapons with the same light attack as heavy attack such as this weapon? I know the animation could be different and therein could have a better swing pattern, but is that it? only heavy attack on these weapons for the better swing pattern?
In the weapons loadout menu, there will be a button for inspecting it. You can then mouseover things and see numbers
And a further deeper menu where you can inspect different properties of the attacks
Ahh, gotcha
The most important thing thats missing from that menu is cleave/target piercing
That you'll just have to test yourself to compare heavy/light attacks
Gg
this will be nutty next patch with exe buffs
