@wraith flare I used an extra silly clown set up for that original test and have since confirmed through more testing that the Recon Mk VId can still achieve 3500-3600 DPS on a Crusher with a less silly talent tree if you get a Recon Mk VId with 80% damage stat, Infernus IV, Headhunter IV, +25% Crusher and +10% Elite. Depending on your damage stat, if you run Carapace perk, if you run elite perk and if you go Longshot route or Confirmed Kill route (and if you drop Bring It Down for Demo Team to get nade regen) your DPS can vary from 3000 to 3600 DPS when using the Recon Mk VId with Onslaught/Rending Strikes/Focus Target/Exe Stance/Shock Trooper

I have a new Recon now that's SLIGHTLY better with Elite instead of Maniac, slightly more ammo stat and slightly more collateral stat for less stability stat (which is a dump stat when running Exe Stance/Deadshot anyway LOL)
