This is a Recon Mk VId and if you look at my ammo counter I used 13 ammo to kill one

This is not Psykanium fluff, I do this in both Damnation and Auric Damnation

this was the original Recon I used to make that gif but I've got a slightly better one now so I can kill a Crusher in as little as seven ammo spent

this is the talent tree set up I use for matches

I should warn that while the Recon Mk VId can punch harder than most give her credit for, this is a gun that requires a lot more effort to run in higher difficulties than other weapons

I'm running 9 stam curios and taking the extra +1 stam node under Confirmed Kill near the top of the tree

I'm taking Duck and Dive then using it with Focus Target + Target Down to restore stam by pushing into the frontline and purposely baiting then dodging incoming ranged enemy fire while also pinging priority targets and shooting them down

I have to maintain consistent headshots with my Headhunter blessing in combination with Deadshot so the crit stacking feeds Shock Trooper and lets me spray so many shots for free

If this sounds ridiculous then you should definitely not do it because it absolutely is

You can run weapons like Plasma, Columnus Infantry Autogun and Revolver with far less effort and a less strict talent tree set up

Recon Mk VId, weirdly enough, excels at ammo economy

Hardest hitting but slowest firing variant

It does consume 2 ammo per shot compared to both the Mk II and Mk VId consuming 1 ammo per shot but that's partially offset by the low fire rate

The Kantrael Infantry Lasguns struggle against Flak and are worthless against Carapace but Carapace is exclusively Crushers and the heads of Maulers so it's not that big of a deal if you bring a melee weapon to kill them or bring Kraks

It's hard unlearning how much the gun makes you want to tunnel vision down the sights and click heads. That was the first thing I had to rewire in my clown head because it blinds you to approaching specials/elites in other directions and leaves you vulnerable to poxwalkers sneaking up behind. As fun as it is to shoot, sometimes you have to swap into melee or drop a grenade and deal with things until you can create the space to begin firing again

Idk if that is your trouble too but if it is then it just means you will improve with practice

Yeah i went with a power sword and full grenade build with frags. Took a revolver and basically mag dumped at the start and counted if every shot hit or missed, picking up ammo to get to the threshold and then didnt pick up any more bullets. Took 2 runs because the first one i didnt actually bother counting
