collateral is mostly suppression, suppression isnt affected by impact, and vet only has volley fire to offer him more of the latter
oh and indirectly buffing falter but I still think any weapon with falter as an option will prefer using other blessings
zealot on the other hand, does have quite a bit of +impact options in their tree
this is going to sound dumb and I'll sound like a broken record but the collateral stat on my Recon Mk VId combined with suppression nodes on the tree make it a very good weapon for forcing enemy heads down

Suppression is secretly an OP stat for crowd control on mass crowds of shooters that most people don't think about but do passively in gameplay
I know Graia MkIV has the collat status
and vet can grab +25% straight into a 50% suppression bonus
there's a Tanner vid I remember seeing doing a breakdown of how important suppression is but afaik people here do not like him
he's a very rude dude but I watch his vids sometimes for info and also to get context from some silly moments
he also doesnt really do the hard maths stuff
still better than 99% of the player base tho
like hearing that he called damage a dump stat starting a wave of people saying anyone calling damage a dump stat is an idiot and then when you go to the vid he really just talks about how damage beyond your breakpoints is meaningless beyond slightly more boss damage so depending on context more damage stat vs more in another stat isn't as big a deal as it is on others
a weapon without perfect 80% damage isn't trash and if it hits all the good breakpoints you're good

but it takes very little to push yourself to the next BP
so unlike something like V7
we went into this before but my 69% damage stat isn't a big difference against an 80% damage stat recon and translates to 1 more damage per shot and 3% more damage at longer ranges
yes, its about accuracy, TTK, BTK, etc.
a little bit more damage helps
most people getting below a 70% in a damage stat throws out their weapon
I kept my 69% recon because it's funny to me to have a weapon with 69

building a good Lucius Mk II for breakpoints was painful
it's easier to just grab Recon and turn my brain off

I know there's a mod to automate their fire and I do not use mods so that doesn't apply to me

yes and no because that 11% more damage stat wouldn't matter but using Exe Stance, Focus Target with Target Down, Onslaught, 10% Rending, Deadshot and three Stam curios for +9 total stam with the additional +1 stam node at top center tree does make a significant impact and all those other little things add up to making it ok
the 11% damage stat difference would objectively make it better but the improvement is so marginal it's not worth caring about imo
having other sources of damage doesnt make a different source of damage bad
automatics improve on a very smooth gradient
so yes
one little thing missing isnt going to be as noticeable as taking 1 vs 2 shot to kill something on a semi auto
you probably wont notice 11 vs 12 bullets to kill something
like sure, you were buffing 59 damage to be 118. having 80% would make that 60 into 120. youre going to be very hard pressed to find many moments where this is the thing that keeps you off a kill, and when your weapon fires 17 rounds a second, you really dont have to care
by that logic you may as well not take 15% damage node

tbh I don't think doing 1 more damage per shot would even meaningfully kill anything in less shots with the Recon and if it did manage to kill in 2-3 less shots it fires so fast that you'd have to check it frame by frame on recording to catch it tbh

Mods that tell you when certain specials spawn feel like putting the game on easy mode
another thing: if you pass up on every 10% damage boost because ~9.9% decrease in TTK is inconsequential on its own and end up passing up on 3 of those individually, you've suddenly lost 30% damage, which is a big deal
Mods that show you enemy health in real time in matches feel like putting the game on easy mode

Deadshot and three stam curios all with +3 stam for a total +9 stam
Get Headhunter IV blessing for +5% crit chance per hit until your next crit
still, 3 new pants to obtain. this is great
those two together with good stam management through Duck and Dive with Focus Target use for the Target Down node's stam regen let you keep Deadshot rolling pretty consistently
the crit chance feels pretty constant in matches but it'll take some getting used to because you have to consistently keep shots on heads
body shots will only have Deadshot boosting them

I have to warn that it is very much a fragile playstyle and you will have to rely on dodging, blocking, shoving and proper positioning to make the most out of it

It means either u or allies in coherency with u need to kill 7500 enemies total when u have fire team equipped

mk3 has less gimmicky activation so it is a little more defensive. most use 6. you should try both you'll eventually have too much plasteel and dockets will be limiter as you roll for perfect weapons

If you make yourself really short enemies can't shoot you behind some cover when they can if you are max height. But if you are max height you can shoot over shorter team mates easier

Esp if you try hittin weakspots

Tbh I love the Vet's stuff I chose even if I remember almost none of it. It makes her talking about digging latrines for the Tempestuous Scions, watching a platoon of hers die and survive as the only one covered in all their blood or knowing about Morrow serving on Armageddon funnier. This was a class act Vet who put her life into serving the Empire. She shed blood, sweat and tears for them. She made the enemy shed more. And she got reported for saying corpse starch tastes funny then ended up serving in a penal legion during a chaos invasion of Atoma. It makes her sass and sarcasm so much sweeter

Yes. Perks are decent, blessings would be probably Brutal Momentum and Headtaker... it will serve you well. Normally you would want dmg vs unarmoured on veteran to hit breakpoints for one-hitting trash without stacks... but on zealot you might get enough power from talents for that. But ultimately you really want higher finesse and Rashad variant.

I agree that ammo is just a tool to support the melee gameplay, like grenades for example, but there are many many more ways to have control over the grenade economy, compared to ammo’s survivalist + reserve increasing nodes
Ogryns and Zealot have no control over grenade economy either

Knives are used by stealth zealots and every stealth zealot runs loner

If u proc survivalist all the time, you have 12% reserve ammo/min
If ur game lasts for let’s say 30 mins, that’s 360% reserve ammo back
On a Columnus Mk5, assuming u have 50% ammo roll (550 reserve) and take +25% reserve ammo talent, that’s gonna be 688 reserve ammo total
360% of 688 on top of the base 100% is gonna be 460% x688 = 3164 bullets
