#veteran-class

If my power sword had a maxed finesse modifier I probably wouldn't need it but eh
Or damage
I'd rather have other classes have their own methods of regening or obtaining more ammo first
Otherwise you'd be pigeonholed into having a survivalist aura vet
It’s dumb game design
If Gunlugger ogryns can hear you over their guns. They would be upset
Lugger ogryns are the worst
I play a lot of stubber on Ogryn
Idk I'll run glugger even with no vets and be fine, dudes just gotta bring out melee sometimes lol
The issue is just the players
It is the closest we get the "No ammo" Modifier in missions
I never really had an issue with Lugger Ogryns even when they are actual Ammo Vacuums, probably cause running smokes unironically saves me ammo
I use the Ripper 5 on my Ogryn, but only use it range hits on Specials and elite
Or opening up Crushers like the walking tin cans they are
Krourk IV after learning it's horde clear combo been using that more, far far more than the Stubber on my Lugger Ogryn
I get yelled at for mag dumping into a horde with a Braced Auto…
Though the guy then proceeds to yell at me for being a suck player.
I responded by telling him “well yes if I didn’t suck I wouldn’t need the practice here now would I :p” (or something along those lines)
Look I don't complain if anyone mag dumps into a horde even though I can manage it with a shovel, if it's a Special Mixed Horde is extremely helpful
Autos are really good for mixed hordes, yes
Especially for that one asshat trapper hiding in them
Being trapped by a trapper hiding the horde is just BS
I just spam click head level with the headhunter cause those are my go too usually
Even more if they're behind some Ogryn enemies
I've been sidewind trapped by a trapper aiming for my teammate and it pulled me into a mainly Pox-Horde
ikr? if i cant shoot through my teammates why can she?
Bulwark wall
The 7 Bulwarks covering the horde of Gunners behind them
That's when I start spamming smokes
one time i lost half my team due to being sniped by gunners across the asassaination map
I wouldn't mind if the net had some pierce (Just enough to ignore 2 or 3 pox walkers or 1 Scab/Drag melee fodder), but if there is more the Trapper will move to a new target or wait for a "Clear" line to trap you
that would require more AI coding than "see player shoot player"
idk if itll happen anytime soon
I mean hell. Even if it was change the trapper needs to have line of sight of their target. So if they're blocked by Ogryn enemies they need to reposition to see you
Honestly I wouldn't mind the nets initial launch staggering or knocking down any light/Flak armored enemies, if it's an Ogryn it straight up should just vanish from existence if it hits a Bulwark
Though tbf 90% of my trapper deaths are them taking advantage of me being surrounded on all sides by a horde
That's my major cause of going down as Ogryn.
I hear the net spin up and I instinctively slide dodge
It's just you kinda can't when you have groaners and mixed hordes surrounding you
I'll always dodge the sound cue, but yeah when you're body blocked. You can only hope the trapper is aimming at someone else
Or if I have my Charge off cool down. Charge in the direction I'm facing
Again if it staggered like trash enemies it would give your team at least like a solid extra second to save you from an instant down
Yeah or taking a good chunk of damage
Unless you're a Human sized class with 2 wounds
And The director said fuck you
Poxwalker horde
Aka instant death
I survived unlucky traps as a human.....Though only to die to scratch damage a few moments later
Had a handful of instant death instances from unlucky traps into a pox horde
All it takes is 1 bad dog or trapper
not all dogs go to heaven
I guess Mutie as well, but muties can sometimes save you by throwing you into a good spot
That or them barreling through a horde absolutely can make it easier to manage
I more so love them, then hate them
I only hate them when it's a Gunner horde or anything Flammable
Always funny to see death staring you down and a Mutie comes in to "Help"
ive had a mutie throw me into a chrusher melee attack
Mutie: Here catch!
Crusher: BONK!
I witnessed that
God I still feel terrible for the Psyker on the receiving end of that
Literally was a series of unfortunate events
He gets grabbed, Crusher aiming overhead for me, thrown RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME
Instant death
lucky i was a zealot at the time
It's Zealot. They survive this shit on a daily basis
"hey priest what do you do for fun?
I MORTIFY MY FLESH AND PRAY"
You guys know that ascension riser map? The one with the drop down and two hangar doors on the side that can be opened?
the vault?
I once got smashed by a crusher on the side of one of those hanger doors
Door wasn't even open
Bastard was clipping through wall
Luckily I was a zealot at that time
Standing atop of the drop off where the enemies climbing up to than -blam- 1 hp
i can beat that
Nice
I knew exactly how the story is gonna go just from the preview
Zealot: Phew...I'm safe inside this ship
Mutie: THINK AGAIN BITCH!
~~Why you always tip your muties when you order from Mutie Eats ™️ ~~
Still waiting for the day the Maulers Chainaxe can be used as a Melee
It's absolutely going to be For Zealot but I'd love to use it
what do you make of a veteran using VoC without the yellow toughness talent?
People will skin you alive for not using it
But it's literally just, oh shit my toughness broke
Shouts
That or you're the 1 of 3 unironic shout revive Vets
The rare Inspire ace Vet.
Well look even after the buff
Using VoC with only revive without yellow toughness what could go wrong.
I have two smoke loadout
I seen a total of 5 different vets have the Revive shout
And out of those 5. Only 1 made a big difference with it
Shout revive may save clutches
I've had more incidents of Shout Toughness Boost + Smokes saving near unwinnable clutches
Usually get killed cause the director says "Yeah spawn a boss as well"
Usually a Chaos Spawn so I can't just outrun it
I pray for those in the sense of easy to avoid so I can easily get the team back up in situations like that
Still being reminded by one time I got thrown right into an annoyed DH by a Mutant and somehow block chained and dodged it as a Psyker for a solid minute and 30-something seconds
Team was occupied with a Crusher + Mixed Horde
THERE'S MORE TO THIS
no yellow toughness voc, therefore no team assistance. recon lasgun (some slower-firing one). krak grenades. probably no keystone
in auric
Vets can usually get away being keystone-less
Are you refer to yourself with that situation?
Before vet got their keystones. They had none
Grenadier
Well I do have a vet being keystone less
Honestly might try to attempt making a viable revive shout build but that's actually going to be Sisyphean
it's a lesser-known thing and people who are new to vets, who would make the mistake of not taking yellow toughness, of using recons, of using kraks, probably wouldn't know about not going with a keystone
and in auric? that person must've known what they were doing was nowhere near a real build
The good recon lasgun
I been auric once with keystoneless vet
they proceeded to leave mid-mission, leaving us with a bot instead, who, honestly, did more
Must be tester
Vet has a lot of damn good perks nearing their keystones
Testing their build in mission than psykanium
Meat grinder only tells you so much
in auric tho?
Onslaught is especially one I really like
Sometimes you got throw your build into mission to see how it really does
and again, i'd understand keystoneless, krak grenade, basic voc, recon las... all in different combinations. but all at once?
What's better than testing your build than throwing yourself into a HISTG
It's funny when you get good at the games movement and melee combat cause like
You can make a mediocre build and survive well
It just feels painful
It's fun when you die and you're spectating someone and they just dodge and weave through a horde
I think it's hype as fuck watching the back liner Psyker completely clutch a near wipe
Knowing they can get two shot pathetically easily
I done that a few times. The most stressful few minutes of the game
It's just as stressful when you're running Marksman Veteran
Literally not meant to Frontline now you have too
I generally run Marked targets as m Vet Keystone
Yess yess now bind tag to your LMB

Someone once said running marksman focus with recon
one day i'm going to get power cycler 4
If Hadron allows you
yeah right after i get thrust 4 on my shovel
I dont think i've ever seen a thrust 4
What do you think chat, I don't know best perks/blessing on laspistol 10
Ghost is pretty decent blessing
+Crit chance is something nice as Las pistols have a 15% crit chance by default
You can never go wrong with the Flak/Maniac combo for perks
Yeah blessing options for laspistol are pretty shit anyway
Elite damage not very valuable on laspistol I take it?
So ghost/dumdum + Flak/crit/maniac?
you cna check if elite damage does meet breakpoints for gunners
Yeah see if it helps meet breakpoints
I'll roll it up later and see what I need to replace. And test it before I remove elite. Thanks!
Yeah sadly
Best case for a 2nd blessing is Reassuring Toughness which plays nice with Laspistols in general
are las pistols any good
Doesn't las get dumdum? I would think that's the bis
Pretty solid weapon class
do they 1 shot gunners
playable
MK X depends on build
i want to like the plasma gun but it is so slow
it 1 shot guner with exec stance
aspecially dreg
Literally the strongest gun in the game. Never charge it ever for any reason and you'll understand its greatness
i have only used an unconsecrated one in the meat grinder and i just couldn't get into it
Don't use the meat grinder as the rule. The power is that near everything behind the first target is also dead
Going ammo positive from a shotgunner party is great
Also a grey plasma with good stats is still stronger than every other gun
hmm
Well, there’s a big difference between plasma with one tap breakpoints and plasma without
I wonder if lacerate is shit on mk6 since so far it helps to clear hordes
Lacerate is shit on every knife
Take a look at its damage profile and you'll see why you want to click heads with it
only thing you do with lacerate is funny watch the boss tick
what you gain in bleed, you lose in weakspot damage from not hitting heads
What blessings should I have?
Well uncanny is the essential I know
Considering that vet has free bleeding, should I just run mercy killer?
Mercy killer is more niche of a choice due to requiring talent taxes and not really helping with horde clear
Precog and riposte are the primary contenders. Flesh tearer is strictly better for a bleed focus but not nearly as good on vet as zealot.
Riposte/precog are best
Mercy killer is also ok
Zealot and their bleed crit build
Bleed just isn’t that great for knife all around
Zealot is a bit better there but still just better off with finesse or crit chance
DoTs give me personal satisfaction
Instead of dying now the enemy dies later
Slash and crits
Jesus 16 deaths 0.o

So either everyone was dying within seconds or you rotating through players
Flechette and the fire shotgun. God FS just let me load as many special shells as possible. Just let the shotguns have all special shells
flechette works only on first targets
I know
a deadshot man-stopper flechette will work probably XD
Atoma Mutants, strong enough to smash through Valkyrie armour apparently…
Damn positive it does, it's more so rolling the Shotgun with good stats and Perks the blessings won't matter cause they're T2 locked
Should it slap some 5% crits chance perk to boost the crits shot?
So when going manstopper and flechette Deadshot
Had a 17 death run 💀 I didn't die once but in the end of the match it was simply relentless to my teammates who kept getting swarmed and forced upon me to clutch and revive rnndnd
I can’t even clutch solo
just another day on a random atoma
Guarantee can’t clutch solo
I had a chance to clutch with my bolter build
And then poxburster
First deaths were a maulers horde which killed my entire team and almost got me like 3 times but I managed and saved the run it was rough man. So rough
Did you die?
I went really fucking good too
Yes but apparently I wasn't too far away from burster
Yes I pushed it
How did you die?
Pox burster
So you try push but failed?
When the burster bounces back
So I got oneshotted
Want to test more cursed builds but still on job trip and want to play tekken
You working like what job title you work as?
I'm an Electronics Technician. Translation, I just swap computer equipment on sites
In Hawaii. It's been fun though. $2.5k tax free meal allowance is nice too
For these trips you get a meal allowance everyday. It's tax free money that just comes back to you. This hawaii trip is giving me an extra $2.5k for meals whether I spent that money or not
So it is free?
They gave you money and you could buy food?
Yep
I see I see
Neato, any benefit from the company you working?
Is better not neglecting employee I heard bad company many time
I get like $150-160/day. It's not a company thing. It's a government working thing.
all this talking about the new content...'the new content i only need'
imagine the faces zealots pulling using their vanilla flamers while u pull out the chad vet's melta
Id imagine they would both get the melta gun
A melta would work great with zealot
Shit i can even see it on psyker and ogryn
yep...
What perks should I go for on knife
Flakiac is a good choice everything, isn't it?
uncanny
Perks
flak armor with whatever
mine is shitty but i see it can instakill everything save for maulers and crushers
I rolled this
3 better than 6 , ez backstab
Remind me what rashad stats should be
yea ik
my mk3 has mercy killer locked tho
Didn't you say earlier that both knives are good, but used for different jobs
kind of
mk3 has easier access to single target attacks
mk6 heavy has some extra cleave
Say, these are worth investing in?
It's zealot instead of vet but it should be same all together I think
it's like default playstyle for knife is in the mk3, it's about dodge e spam light attack and go heavy only when you have something giving its back to you....mk 6 just make doing this more tricky
Workable
Although unless u have a tremendous amount of resources to spend, I would hold off on Rashad until crafting overhaul
Roger
I'll probably try and invest into lesser rating one
I don't want the better one to get bricked
have to experimet in tactcial axes, they are underrated imo
They're like knives without cleave
They have 3 cleave
Which isn’t bad
But the moment u get into bruiser hordes you start struggling
And they don’t do nearly as much dmg as combat axe/knife
the middle number (i don't remember the name), it's quite nasty in gameplay...idk about stats, but i guess is one of those things on chart doesn't look that great but in game weird shit happens and they are OP
Atrox 4? It’s alright
They’re playable, just outclassed by combat axes and knife in most ways
U can do good dmg with them on both veteran & zealot
But they take a lot of talent investments to perform
I think if you put like literally every point towards weakspot, finesse & melee dmg on veteran, you can get tac axes to do great work
However a well-rolled Rashad with 10% melee and precision strikes will just outclass it
Just don’t
You’re gonna fury martyrdom it the way you should

Only the 4 has consistent 3 cleave on lights, the others have lights with a mix of 3 and 1.5.
thx
Which makes the other variants big shit for clear on lights
I’m not adding cleave values to document yet
Only ranged weapons I figured is worth mentioning
Not enough crit or attack speed whichever way you go, it’s a waste of the weapon or the ult
Ok so
Stealth marty

Just go play thunder hammer then
You want to have a massive amount of crit for stealth uptime
Caxes are not very good for that
I use marty thunder hammer, do enlighten if stealth is better than chastise
Stealth thammer is better for the biggest doinks
Im sorry for your loss

If your goal is to one shot bosses
My goal isn't exactly that
The best way to Rashad on zealot is to play 5 stack martyrdom (+40% melee dmg), 5 stack martyrdom: maniac (+20% melee atk speed), +5% melee dmg, sustained assault (+20% melee dmg), +10% melee atk speed, and fury giving you +20% melee atk speed for 10s on use
This gives you a combined total of
+65% melee dmg
+50% melee atk speed
Pump 1 celerity stim and you’re the emperor’s fastest axe-swinging lunatic
It’s hilarious how fast you can swing that axe
This what I run
+65% melee dmg (up to +85% since BM hits up to 4 enemies which stacks disdain 4 times)
+50% melee atk speed (up to +60% with the emperor’s bullet)
Gain 15% toughness per valid dodge
Gain 30% toughness per swing (kill 4 with BM)
Crafting rework?
It's at the end of the month ye?
Or BM rework
Crafting
Oh prob 6 months from now

End of month is announcement of penance update (1st major update of 2024)
Which means the actual penance update is prob early April
And then crafting rework prob June/July or smth
Ima take the gambling pill then
But first I'll probably brick the worse one for blessings
Kind of easier to craft axe for zealot than veteran, if you’re planning to go martyrdom
Yeah it's for zealot
Question, what are the differences in base stats for every class?
I know zealots have higher, faster stamina regen, as well as they keep more of their sprint speed at 0
You might want to give this a study
Ty
There's different parameters listed for each class
a lot of differences actually
health, toughness, stamina, innate abilities, crit chance, etc
the heck is damage dodging/sprint/slide
also I had figured we all had the same innate base crit
It's damage modifiers inflicted on your player character in different states
i.e., you may be taking less damage to your health/toughness during certain actions states
... so vets take full damage if they're hit while dodging
For instance, yeah
Consider this
In some time in the past, Vets took 2x damage while sprinting

The reason for this fine balance decision? 200 base toughness, so naturally Vet should be punished for being hit while they are sprinting.
whaaaa
Pre Patch 13 Darktide was indeed a good time
I'm so glad I joined the game after that patch
Post patch 13 Vets have only 100 Toughness

But at least they are not taking a buttload more damage while sprinting
Zealot used to take 0 damage while sliding pre P13, if I recall correctly
Only Ogryn remained unscathed, because they always received 1x damage in any state
I love the tide games but
I learned from vermintide and vermintide 2
don't buy the game on release
It was a wise choice, especially if you got the giga Aquila offer from Microsoft
I regret putting time into the game when it was in that state
hey at least you didnt buy starfield on launch
atlas i was a believer
these were all toughness damage multipliers iirc
normalized in p13/14 thankfully
They might have been that, yeah
guys good what can i say?
i think the idea i miss the most was the scrapped weapon coherency regen states
which were bugged and didnt work
but autopistol n stuff got more coherency regen while sprinting (in concept, in actuality it was reversed so u regenned more from coherency while standing still w/ autopistol)
weapon coherency regen? like getting ammo for staying in?
no
just toughness
but it was cool in terms of vibes™️
just didnt work and ig they didnt care enough about it to make it work
@junior needle wdyt
full weapon type description, important talents & available blessings are on 2nd page I haven't finished yet
Looks good for the most part. Although the charts seem like they could be a bit obtuse for actual performance. For anti armor for example, the 6d has the worst modifiers but the highest value there for some reason. Is that carapace performance or all armor types?
Also the 7a has 2.7 cleave, minor difference.
You may want to mention that the 6d can have the highest dps but relies on rending stacking for it.
Still better than mk2 even without it though
is that different from Helbore, Agrip1 and Agrip8
the actual dps against flak is highest still I believe (at close range)? but worst at range
Holy shit the mk2 recon is actually goated
personally a fan of VIIa
That’s the dogshit one iirc
I mean they’re all bad
Bought one with 17% ammo
7a is middle of the pack with rending taken into account
Lol
In what world can the mk2 recon be goated, its actually the worst gun in the game lol
Yes. Helbores have 3, agri brauto has 3, agri iag has 2.1. Checkable on: https://dt.wartide.net/calc/
Darktide calculator for damage breakpoints against enemies. Developed by ManShanko.
I wish it wasnt cuz the recons feel fun, they just perform like absolute ass
Are we talking pure baseline?
ok
with a build (no onslaught)
That's a bit one sided if you're doing built but specifically excluding the talent that unscuffs its base damage the most
rending strikes can be included
onslaught I don't include because it's a large point sink with too low returns
It does give you at least 200~ dps on the 6d
But that's a bit arbitrary method for testing
Just including rending strikes, 6d still should have the best armor performance than 2 and 7a, no?
Just generally? They’re ok. Lawbringer is the worst of them
No. You underestimate the scuffedness of its modifiers.
Goes about even with the 7a on flak bodyshots assuming equal crits.
With rending strikes
Flak headshots
Flak headshots are the hardest to test
So put 6d and 7a on same anti-armor rating, mk2 still all round worst besides firing uptime
just stop thinking about it and grab your plasma gun, private
Mk2 anti-armor 28
Mk6d and 7a anti-armor 30
Well, having "armor" refer only to flak is a bit misleading. All recons do have the same weakspot modifier, so they should in theory be the exact same on headshots with the same bodyshot dps.
Technically unyielding, maniac, and carapace are armor types too
The anti-armor rating I use in these radar charts usually refers to scab rager, mauler & crusher
So it’s pretty much exclusively flak & carapace armor
I could make a radar chart with 8 different angles
But that visually just looks bad
So I settled for 5 angles
You might want to change it so armor refers to armor as a whole, ie anything affected by rending. To use iag's as an example, they have great unyielding/maniac mods but flak is their weakest non carapace damage type.
(In fact, the only reason “firing uptime” exists is so recons can have a stat that’s >40 so they get the full 50 rating scale)
All the rending stuff is explained in the first 3 pages
Mhm, but having the armor stat only refer to 2/4 types of armor is a bit misleading. Realistically nothing mechanically separates flak from maniac apart from arbitrary damage modifiers.
Anti-special generally covers maniac more
And boss DPS generally covers unyielding more
In that sense it’s all there
Oh I missed anti special existing
That's still a bit uh
Convoluted to break it down like that
Flak and carapace don't really have anything in common to get grouped there
Again, having too many angles just looks unintuitive
My reasoning is that
Scab rager 10 mass
Scab mauler 10 mass
Crusher carapace block cleave
These are the 3 main enemies that can immediately change how u approach melee because they block cleave on just about every weapon

And they’re visually wearing full body black armor
Well as long as you make an explanation for it in the guide
Yea it’s at the very very start “terminology & mechanics”
Firing uptime is such a redundant stat though
I know
I can’t come up with anything else to give recon >40 rating
Which would cause them to use 40 scale
If you just removed that you could do a full armor type breakdown with those 4 slots.
And the chart looks way better than it should be
Because all 5 angles are near edge
The council is discussing important matters
this is a random chart I made with all 4 stats under 41
do u see a difference between this and plasma's chart
I am not looking at the chart for plasma so I do not see the difference
idk. i think we need more cat pics
It has 1 less ring which means it uses 40 scale instead of the full 50 scale
And the chart ends up having the edges much closer to full size
Indicating that it’s good in everything
When in reality it’s just that it’s not using the full scale so it visually looks better than it actually is
the plasma is the strongest but it lacks the brrrr
Wouldn't changing the breakdown to individual armor types allow you to keep that many corners while also having more intuitive information on the charts?
few weapons out side of abillitys can 2 tap bosses
If I do 6 angles covering every armor/non-armor type, some weapons would still be <41 in rating and make their charts look better than they really are
And it’s harder to gauge how good they’re at different things when looking purely at performance vs armor types
Knife has very good maniac dmg
That doesn’t make it good against Dreg rager
So I have to squeeze in more stats
And that eventually leads to too many angles to be visually interesting
You don't really need unarmored/infested performance on guns, I'd just skip those
Which is why they’re not in that radar chart
Horde clear angle is only for melee weapons
I do think this would be the most intuitive breakdown for relative damage output/performance, and most melee weapons aren't good for dealing with ragers so you can leave that to some misc notes.
While maintaining the same chart
This doesn’t incorporate any attributes in relation to stagger or dodge properties
Oh true
For melee that absolutely matters
Like I said, trying to do a bunch of Armor type breakdown just ends up making it look too complicated
I can barely squeeze in 3 weapons in 1 page with all their relevant info
It still ends up a bit complicated doing it that way though
Perhaps flak/maniac could be lumped together for melee
Leaving a spot for mobility
It’s not as in-depth for sure, but for just simple visualization in key performance metrics I think it’s passable enough
Or just not include mobility on the chart
Mobility is sorted into “defense” for melee weapons
Since it's the same across the whole line
Stagger and defense are separate

with melee bleed is an imprtant factor if you have bleed it cut through allot of carapace, boss and maniacs health bars
Stagger is more in offense
Defense is stagger + dodge more in terms of defense
That’s also just not true
Carapace and bosses have low dmg modifiers for bleed
You need rending/brittleness for it to do notable dmg
Yeah crushers have drastically reduced dot damage
with my chain sword if i have bleed it takes 2 swings instead of 3
And bleed is limited to a few setups for any notable usage
Most weapons do not have it at all natively
vets have an perk that give bleed stacks
Serrated blade? Don’t take it outside of knife with mercy killer
1 per attack, which is essentially just for mercy killer
Bleed needs >10 stacks for notable dmg on most enemies
Dots have nonlinear scaling and do very little damage on low stacks
i dont have a problem building bleed on damnation, youre saying its a trap but i have 0 problems building 10 - 20 stacks
You literally can’t get over 16
This is when you discover the bait
Taking serrated purely to stack bleed is a trap
Bloodletter blessing for chainsword is viable because it instantly stacks very high amounts of bleed which actually deals good dmg against most enemies
Bleed itself is fine but very situational
Taking serrated blade to stack 3 bleed on regular enemies before u kill them is not good
when you hear something you dont like you call them a troll.. toxic
I never called u troll
insinuated it
That was someone else
Serrated blade is just a worse lacerate and lacerate is already bad
Serrated could arguably be better lacerate because it doesn’t require body shot hits
Ok man live in your imaginations if u must
True
And doesn't take blessing slot
Yeah the main breadwinner is the saving of blessing and it bleeds from everywhere
But it needs a Lil buff like
2-3 stacks instead of 1
You can't just 1.5 that bitch tjdnnd
Honestly
Buff it to 4 or smth
If a melee weapon can’t kill an enemy in 4 hits, it’s prob in need of bleed to actually do its job

That'd make mercy killer a fucking menace
That’s fine
Make melee vet stronk
Mercy killer only works starting from 2nd hit anyways
Make it comparable to VoC vet 🗣
You already take Voc in melee builds
He is indeed strong
I take infil fnndnd
@junior needle metrics I use rn
Smonke
Boutta hotbox the squad!
My beloved operation hotbox
Hi int carnival, this recon vet was mowing through horde at the cost of ammo, actually well played
“Mowing”
I’m not sure shooting into melee chaffe counts as playing well, and if it does then every recon vet does it
I’m almost done with all weapon pages
Headhunter
Autopistol
Revolver
Shotgun
Then I can start with actual builds to recommend
I have no idea what you're talking about. We recon users don't chew through ammo at all
Playes well as staying alive
Like you know
The minimum
7 crate pickup is crazy
Is left click spamming the Plasma Gun more damage per second than firing max charged shots?
Yes
Don’t use charged shots (ever)
So it's better to left click a monster than to charge
That bad huh? I guess they're just for hitting breakpoints?
No
Don’t even use them for breakpoints
They’re bad in ammo efficiency, have less DPS than uncharged shots, and are prone to blowing up
Charged shots need a buff to ammo cost to be worth using
Uncharged shots need nerf on cleave & ammo cost
tyvm
simpler chainsword moveset?
Heby
Which chainsword
Mk4 is better
Mk4 has vaguely horizontal hebys
13g chainsword has surprisingly very good light spam for chaffe clear, better than the 4 and among the best in the game
But you need wrath on it for sure
Therefore if you want simplicity that’s the one
zarona is the meta revolver
Unless you want one fan schenanigans
If only there was a cowboy hat cosmetic for vet...
Zarona for sure. You can make some decent crit builds with the agri.
what's the meta blessings and perks for a fan the hammer revo btw?
The rending one for sure for 60%
You can go trickshooter or crucial roulette depends on your accuracy
Flak/unyielding
It works best on vet or psyker
And if you do use it
Look out for the stimm that makes you reload faster, shoot faster, and hurt better with ranged.
Doesn’t blue stimm also make ranged bypass armor completely?
I don't care what it takes pleaseee add in wild west cosmetics so I can live out my fantasy
it took me embarrassingly long to get that clip
If it does even better!
God how I wish I could aim like that fjdnnd
2 recon lasgun vets not having any dmg and can’t melee is just lol
I spent like 15 minutes trying to do it with headshots and faster but i just couldnt so i gave up XD
I also say best with them because Vet has a lot of buffs for guns in general which turns the agri into a really good revolver for getting rid of stuff as long as your stupid teammates don't eat 5 shots of justice.
And psyker has scriers gaze which also synergizes well with the silly revolver.
Just get ready to have your teammates eat your shots lolol
it's actually a sin they haven't put in wild west style cosmetics tho
ig it doesn't match the artstyle exactly but
Does it?
Crucian/surgical + hand cannon
Blue stim doesn’t give u +dmg
Blue stimm is just good to have to delete a boss with the revolver
Red stimm is the one that gives rending
Red stim is +dmg
Rending and damage yes
I feel like red is best saved on someone better in melee but if the red is all you have use it for the revolver
I still say blue stimm for revolver in case of bosses
idk vet revolver with red can be p funny vs bosses
I like the faster reload/fire rate
I guess it's dps through a lot of bullets = more chance to crit and cause b e e g damage
I keep my stims because I rarely see anyone else use them lol
Whenever I'm playing agri vet or psyker I take blue
If not it's either combat or health
Is there any pro to devastating strike over the other cleave blessings?
My understanding is that Devastating Strike unilaterally is terrible
Bollocks
Its only upside is 5s uptime, better than savage sweep’s 3s and wrath’s 3.5s
However it has only 1 stack and relies on crits
It’s just nowhere as good as the other two
Anyone else getting awful rubber banding and lag lately?
Feels like the servers have regressed again lately, Darktide has been collecting dust in my library for a minute now
Surgical is only if you want to use it like the zarona but drastically worse
So crucian + handcannon, it's too inaccurate between shots to justify trickshooter in any practical way
Against bosses not really. And ogryns at close range.
From range however trickshotter will fall off but I agree
Crucian+handcannon to get those crits.
do we know what's the upcoming cosmetic set?
I just tried the rashad and I might be in love
https://youtu.be/s13SfAvjjvY?list=RDMM is this even be used ingame? never heard it once playing
Official Soundtrack of Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. By Jesper Kyd.
I think i heard it on enclavum baross
On vet idk , on zealot can be fun if u stacks crits
shame that wrath exists if you want cleave blessing that doesn't rely on hitting 3 targets, since it takes only 2 hits to stack the same amount of cleave as what devastating cleave gives (and thus you'd get the benefit of +80% cleave on the 3rd hit)
If you're close enough to reliably land all your shots to the head you might as well just pull out your melee weapon
But yes you can use trickshooter for close range blasting, although probably not as much damage as with crucian because crits and handcannon
That be a sexy gun
Daamn, that's a nice stat roll
i finally maxed out my vet, im a fresh level 30 what do i do next?
I think a over confident vet died with this baby in thier hands recently
One dead man's trash is a living man's treasure
Deserved for using unconsecrated green stuff in sanctioned mission
The emprah does not look kindly upon those fool
Head first into Maelstorm
plasma + mk3 knife WS/VoC vet.....broken OP
Thanks Hadron
Try your hand at the special Twins boss fight, or try taking on Auric level missions.
In normal, just do Damnations, lower levels not worth much unless you are leveling a friend/need to farm weekly deathless runs for Melk
next goal is to keep playing so you start getting higher power level drops to optimize your weapons
thanks currently farming the melk run rn
Welcome to the Real game
now the real game begins
Level 1 to 29 is the tutorial
true
Its the speed run if its your second playthrough
5th char is the real pain
does someone have a good gunner pew pew build? don't mind if it's lasgun or something else, semi or full auto,... just want to try pw pew
Builds are highly dependant on the particular weapons you want to use
But as long as you take survivalist and voc with overshield, you will be useful
i guess something with the Kantrael mk 2 lasgun?
what would you recommend for a snipy anti-ranged veteran build?
have you tried our lord and savior plasma
yeah, love it but i'm looking for something with a bit more skill curve
gotcha, i think the hellbores are pretty good at sniping things
Yeah, but bring something to compensate for them
Like frags for hordes
The bayonet won't help with big numbers
(I do find it wild that the bayo is insanely good against void shield)
Bayonet is good for staggering ragets
That's a fact
The laspistol?
sorry, lucius mk2 hellbore
it's good, aim for headshots
which capstone is best for snippy build?
usually, middle
Focus Target or Marksman’s Focus
The former is more consistent in general combat situations
The latter is putting heavy emphasis on you clicking heads
Anyone got any advice for hunting penances?
What is there to tell (type?)? Just play and do them. Do you have any specific penances in mind?
Make Every Shot Count mostly
No survivalist aura
Bring revolver/plasma/shotgun
Only shoot when you’re sure you’re going to hit something that’s still alive
Become melee veteran once u run out
Just never pick up any ammo after?
Yea
Seems easy enough actually
Will make a note
If there's another Survivalist vet in your squad when you do it after you empty your gun
Do not switch to it (Assuming that hasn't been patched out)
Don’t bring shotgun, I’ve had people play veteran not get the penance because it doesn’t calculate accuracy as you’d expect it
aquila=microtransactions?
Y’all got build suggestions? I’ve been mucking about without much clue as to what to do to there
What're looking for as a build?
Versatility, survivability
Oh that's super easy lemme find the link to the like
Pound for pound vet meta build.
Dope. I’m only lvl 17, nothing amazing, but I’m getting there
I recommend VoC with the toughness to everyone ASAP, it'll make early runs easy but you can also do Infil which is a good utility ability. But everyone Knows VoC is simply powerful.
Dope, I recreated it exactly as much as I could. The recommended weapons, hard requirement?
No. Use what you prefer but make sure you have a weapon for hordes and a weapon for everything else.
The shovels are really good and fun
Powerswords are a bit overtuned
Swords are nice
Chain weapons are alright.
Vet can use all the guns in the game effectively honestly. Some are just meta over others.
Recon lasgun is known for being one of the worst guns in the game so avoid that one maybe.
Besides that all the weapons can be used effectively.
For lasguns just get prepared for your teammates to block thr shots 💀
If I already have the standard plasma gun build for focusing elites, and want a second build that can help kill regular ranged mobs and do decent elite damage is the Kantrael MG Ia Infantry Lasgun my go to weapon for that? I usually run the typcial Squad Leader build posted above.
Recon lasguns
Shredder autopistol
MG1a is nice, remember to take suppression immunity
Kantreals are honestly pretty versatile.
Not bad weapons at all.
this is what i use, it can kill everything in 1-2 shot dont count bosses. knife is mostly used to kite bosses or run away. it can be used against horde but it takes a while to kill em, usually push into dodge back to plasma pew pew pew or throw a nade at it.
I’d drop marksman for stamina regen delay reduction
where do you get these
How's the Columnus MV look nowadays?
is there a website or excell sheet where i can access it
I go off of basic memory this guy creates graphs
It’s WIP
The previous version is in the pinned messages here
Previous version only included talent tree breakdowns
i dont have stam problem with this build
It’s for knife push atk spam
is it this one
Yeah vet has the lowest stam regen
Yea, that one only has talent tree stuff rn
At like 1.25 I think which is AWFUL COMPARED to zealot or pysker
1.00s
going to be honest i rarely use the push attack knife on vet, i just go like ok push dodge back into plasma
At still 1.00s is horrendous
on my zealot i love to spam the overhead knife block attack
You notice it quick as a vet player
Zealot is 0.75s
Psyker is 0.5s
Ogryn is 1.00s as well
But ogryn atks are slow enough that it’s bearable
Yeah nfndn
There is two nodes in the skill tree that decrease Stam regen by .25
So you can invest to have base psyker Stam regen djdndn
I’ve finished all veteran weapons’ pages except autopistol, revolver & shotgun
i also do this when i dont feel like marking enemies, just shoot some trash mob head with plasma and go kill the non trashmobs with the given buff
So if there’s any specific weapon u want I can send rn
Pls don’t play marksman’s focus with plasma
it works though
Plasma has very low finesse
ok i wont
You should be pinging at all times though ^^
Doesn't matter if you have the keystone or not.
hey men if im feeling lazy i wont ping but ill just kill it
but yes you defo right i should ping
I have my ping mapped to right click so I naturally highlight enemies just by aiming at them. It sometimes highlights extra problems I didn't even see through something I'm killing too. Probably not as useful for Plasma since no one ever uses charged shot so there's zero reason to map it to right click
For focus target it will not overwrite higher stacks with a follow up ping afaik so accidentally double pinging a target doesn't reduce the effect
I wouldn't recommend mapping ping to left click. You will spam ping things constantly and your team will hate you for it
Imagine left clicking to ping
I'm a Mordhau player so I just spam V by habit
It's funny but I remember seeing guides saying to map ping to left click when I first started Darktide. I tried it and realised it is goofy LMFAO
Spam pinging everything even the floor would set me over the edge
"CHAAAAAAAAARGE"
That is goofy
Right click is pretty safe tho. Plus if I'm looking down a dark hall and my weapon has no flashlight I can spam right click to check for specials/elites hiding in the shadows
Only time right click to ping is awkward is with revolver/shotgun afaik since clicking and holding right click will interrupt reload
Throw nades 😈
If only I had a fun explosive weapon to fire down halls as a Vet
Plasma
bolter
Ulgo say plasma because if overcharge boom
Those are not really explosive imo. Plasma kills in a line. Bolter will AoE stagger. Not like Ogryn cannon bomb going boom and exploding into things around it
Try making a build that does not work with plasma
You cant make a build that does not work with plasma
I wish they added the veteran grenade launcher
Run naked 0 talents and still kill everything with plasma
Less damage than the rumbler but has 5 shots.
Ulgo not have plasma build and do fine
Bfbdn
Not need plasma even! Only shovel
I shank people
Of the lasguns, which is the arguable “best”?
Charge into the dark Zealot style
I roleplay the average London resident
Is that label even applicable?
Yes. best lasgun is toothpick lasgun
No
Kantreal is very reliable
But hellebore is a runner up too
Depends on which variant you're talking and for what purpose
stabby lasgun
i found your lack of -WEAPON SPECIALIST- disturbing
If you mean the most versatile overall across Recon, Lucius and Kantrael patterns then I'd say Lucius Mk II is the best overall gun for dealing with anything the game throws at you. Fast firing speed, powerful damage per shot, amazing armour pen to strike down flak and carapace, perfect bayonet strike for quickly killing the poxwalker that snuck up behind you before returning to shooting and the bayonet is very good at breaking boss shields. Fast attack and good damage
The only bad thing is it's long draw time and awful ironsights
Plus Lucius Mk II's bayonet can stagger ragers and turns them into a cakewalk if they suddenly appear in your face
Arguably worse than 0
tac mag reload is nice with plasma
I’ll try the Lucius, I haven’t yet
show me a meta weapon spec build
please?
This is very true and really the only drawbacks to the Lucius II. If you could put better ironsights or a scope on it, it would be easily the best lasgun in the game no contest
Reload talent on plasma are QoL bait
NO CONTEST. It would be so much higher in a tier list for .e
it doesnt work or what?
Alright, what perks should I throw on a Lucius mk II?
I use the tac reload with WS with my revolver so I always have 1 in the chamber and a 40% reload so I cover a weakness of its slow reload.
Too slow to reload in fight anyway.
Charge time decrease is mando
idk its better than not having imo
Don’t seem to have charge time available
The point is: your mag is so big you should find down time to reload. Or anim cancel
Oh perks!
Maniacs and flak in my opinion
ledies and gents: the 100% wrong vet build
I’ve got the weight of fire blessing though
Always my go to for perks on guns lolol
I will warn that Lucius II needs high damage, stopping power and charge rate to make it shine but if you can get a good Lucius II roll it will carry games. Afaik it wants Unarmoured to meet an important breakpoint on Dreg Gunners. Second perk can be flak, maniac, carapace or unyielding though off the top of my head idk if any of those make any breakpoints easier. I run with Weight of Fire IV and Surgical IV for even faster shots and higher crit chance but tbh Weight of Fire isn't even necessary on the Mk II with a good charge rate so you could swap it for Infernus IV, No Respite IV, etc.
Which reduces charge time by 8%, stacks 5 times
do keystonless
plasma or columnus?
TAKE DEADSHOT WITH PLASMA
Lucius II? (or columnus)
EVERY LASER TALENT ON INFANTRY
all grenade talents on smoke
spending points of marksman focus is worse than keystoneless
And determined
that's not meta, that's carpal tunnel syndrome
Lucius II ironsights are tricky and will need practice to get used to but once you learn the sights and how to put shots down range accurately it becomes a beautiful weapon for mopping up anything the game throws at you
every SINGLE non named node
I have a columnus build but nobody like it
columnus, switch deadshot with determined if your aim sucks
for curios 3x +3 stamina ofc
3x stamina regen 3x combat ability and 3x sprint
one single 3+ stamina is plenty if your stamina mng is on track
People are allergic to Exe Stance because VoC is so strong. I main Infiltrate though for forcing objectives during heated moments, saving downed team mates and clutching out solo when the whole squad falls though
Why is Orthus so damn tricky? I’ve done missions twice the difficulty with relatively little issue but I am struggling here.
Same.
I have a exec stance build and I love my infil build
middle keystone is your friend
vet is the only class i could do it on
I mostly play exec atm. VoC is stronger
exe makes you killed even in vanilla damnation with shit teams, if your teamates can support it it's great
Voc always will be stronger
But exec give better scoreboard padding
I built mine to be self sufficient. It can deal with every threat in the game and still be able to handle hordes
I haven't run it in forever but a lot of people tunnel vision bosses and get swarmed by hordes, specials and elites. If no one is dealing with crowd control the team will probably fall apart. Also idk if randoms know you can quickly run in and out of floor bombs to trigger them safely and run back out before they pop so people get caught in those during panic moments too
If you have a high enough skill you don't really need a team to support you while exe
you need to run WS....and i think it's bugged with .exe
I go keystoneless with my exe build fjndnf
Everybody got enough skill until you are paired with teammate that dont assist you at all
Marksman focus is ass and I'd rather invest in extra damage against monstrosities and rending
More like a teammate who dies all the time putting a burden on the team
focus target>keystoneless>marksman focus
and WS>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>-all the before mentioned-
dude, plasma with gets hots! u proc 5-6 shots at 83% crits change with WS buff on ranged
and even a sigle shot of plasma matters
A crit on plasma give you same dmg as 5 stacks FT.
i can use any weapon
Also plasma good with every build
i just need the blessings and ill use it easily
Also not counting FT support node which are better than WS
If you play plasma with agile engagement though, it is very very fun
But taking it on a pure ranged plasma is 3 talents point...
And on a melee it means no survivalist. Ogryns will hate you
I wish joining a game midmatch and finishing it counted for the never going down penance
Joined a high int at the midway point, looked like the guy before me died 4 times
So, the difficulty levels. What level should I be when I attempt each?
It’s not bugged
Executioner’s stance is instant equip, it doesn’t count as “weapon swap”
Also, plasma crits don’t have much value besides bodyshot 1 tap breakpoint due to plasma’s low finesse
Depends on how new you’re to the game, and how new you’re to the class you’re playing
I’m at 18 right now. Fairly new to the game but I’m playing veteran.
Block push like crazy
For heresy and up I strongly recommend vets have grenade regen at the very least
Even if the rest of your gear is not that good, good grenade use contributes a lot
Not really just be efficient with killing things and minimize dmg taken
grenades are most important when you have shit gear coz their not gear reliant
(They’re gear reliant)
Dodge like crazy
I’m not very good at dodging, I’ll practice that
Grenades inherit perks from your in-hand weapon and some blessings
Pinning fire (Boltgun, Autopistol) works for frags
thats not what reliant means
Uncanny works for frags
Even when you hit the limit, it gets sluggish and mess with your flow
everything inherits power from power blessings
Not all
Then you stop dodging for a couple seconds and restart
A good way to practice is to dodge every 2-3 swings. You will begin to feel how many dodges you have and when you run out of dodges. This will encourage you to weave in pushes to help get your dodges back. Over time you'll begin to feel when you should dodge vs when you should push. Sound help a bunch since there's a certain audio queue that triggers whenever a melee attack from a standard enemy is about to hit you
Dodge reset time is 0.85s
Also if you’re playing with mouse & keyboard, highly recommend u bind dodge & jump to separate keys
You won’t jump all that much in this game but you will always be dodging
At the very minimal, you need to be able to handle a horde of zombies and bruisers at a given difficulty level without dying
That's the barebones basics
As long as you can do that, you can do the difficulty
There is a mod to avoid jump dodge. You might still jump but that would be because you try to front dodge
I dont wanna change keybind
Reaction time check, my beloved
Dodge distance is just something you will learn over time too. A lot of weapons like power sword have terrible dodge distance. But you'll still be able to safely shove a poxburster and dodge backward to avoid the blast
It is a magical feeling once you know your dodges, blocks and pushes well enough to safely kite a monstrosity under pressure with little to no damage taken
Oh cool, never knew that
So ong. Then tour teammates do nothing
Your*
They are probably fighting the horde
I had a team that all died besides the psyker and we didn't have enough combined dps to kill the CS so I went to relocate and grab the dead homies. She stays to 1v1 and dies then says why did I leave.
My guy we didn't have enough damage between the two of us to kill a CS.
If it was a plogryn or beast sure but a CS is annoying to face smh
He probably tunnel visioned and didn't see you reallocating
Sometimes my surge staff does damage, sometimes it's BB
It was a bubble smite psyker
Weird
Yea that’s about as much boss dmg as a shovel veteran lol
They weren't doing shit against that boss so I had to move simply because the dps wasn't gonna be enough
Sometimes you just gotta know the strength of your team and I knew the psyker wasn't gonna be a help against a boss bfnfbd but hey at least she served the god emperor as a meat shield for a loyal vet.
Sometimes you have to fight a plague ogryn in the middle of a horde. The team is not around and they're not coming to help. It doesn't matter what they're doing. Kill the horde. Kill the plague ogryn. It'll feel cooler doing it solo
It wasn't a plogryn
I can 1v1 a plogryn confidently
It was CS which is arguably the hardest monstrosity to 1v1 due to quick combos and a grab
I have a clip of me basically 1v1ing a plogryn before the third veteran skill tree rework. They are not that hard fhjdnf
Chaos spawn's attack moveset is very dangerous yeah. Still the hardest monstrosity to fight 1v1 even without horde pressure and the occasional special or elite sneaking in
Plague Ogryn's attacks are very slow and telegraphed. Easiest monstrosity to fight for sure. Burgle is annoying because the weak point is behind it so it's tricky to solo
Beast is in the middle simply because it's the slowest and easiest to kite but still a meat tank
Yeah
Not to mention the eating part
CS has speed, mighty combos, a grab that heals them, hard hitting. It's the worst.
CS heals by eating you
Burgle is just dangerous for leaving a snail trail across exits and taking so long to kill solo you will definitely have to fight more specials, elites and hordes before you take it out vs others
Easy to keep controlled but it makes it harder to deal with everything else coming at you too
Beast is the only boss that is threatening towards ogryns
That's in a bad case scenario I'm talking 1v1 jfjdn
Can safely kite a Plague Ogryn and kill specials and elites, mop up a horde and still kill the Plague Ogryn safely
CS is just a pain
You can kite it sure but focusing on anything else will be near impossible without being cracked at the game.
Depends on your build but ogryn is too easy to predict and still slow between charges. Using the environment especially railings or church pews to trick it into running circles gives breathing room to quickly put a shot or stab into a pox hound or trapper sneaking up on you
But also depends on the environment and map awareness
I still rather face a beast than a CS by myself. Hate those things fhjdjd
You guys ever see the tox ogryn boss?
Plogryn?
Plague ogryn
Easiest boss to destroy
No. Tox ogryn
Homies a chump ong ong
It's in the files
still have to figure out where the foooking weak spots are on those things
