The overkill unfortunately isn't just a blanket thing because overkill on a poxwalker isn't overkill on a bruiser or elite or specialist
Yeah but on the overwhelming majority of weps the dmg stat adds so little that the snowball isnt really a thing here
Look at say the knife
M1 at 50 dmg vs 80 is literally unnoticeable
A 30 damage difference at base on a weapon with high finesse already makes a difference
No it doesnt
Also
Fun fact the dmg gap on a knife like that
Is not 30
Its not 10
Its not even 6 for the normal m1s
i just noticed i'm doing 200k + ovk dmg with Rashad lol
It is what it is
on normal dams
Ovk is perspective on total
revi and rashad on zealot is very silly
seemingly rashad is one of those weapons that actually needs min 70 on all damage stats
Dont get wraped up in thinking about it
In your pursuit for scab bruiser 1HS, you deal like twice the dmg needed to kill 1 groaner
It is what it is
Its mostly a thing for trauma staff psykers and plasma vets
Where they do 1 mill dmg screenshots with 600k ovk
Like yeah real hsrd to do buddy
Feels like my hellbore runs lol
Yeah but hellbore doesnt hit 29 things at once

So its actually pretty nice for hellbore
Love me Hellbore
I feel like plasma vet getting overkill is kind of... obvious
This is why BP's do become important
I mean
You can minimize it, by building for the dredge gunner bp
This is the difference between like 100 overkill and 1000
No kill like overkill
noob here, what is a good weapon of killing the hordes of mobs
i hate getting a good rashad and it doesn't hit breakpoints
400k dmg / 200k overkill
Any melee with a cleave blessing
Then it wasn't good

I'm level 9 so I don't have access to blessings
There's also things like using the same weapon on different builds, which in my case was the difference between two hits and three hits on a scab bruiser using the green shovel
i mean with right perks and blessings
err most
Find a melee you like with fulls creen attacks throw wrath slash savsge sweep on it and its good
Don't bother with any combat axe that doesn't have brutal momentum
On psyker is running the one blitz that allows 1+ jumps on smite really worth it?
Or should I put that point into something else
No
Hell no
God no
Anyone know any good Veteran builds?
Well yeah I got a suboptimal rashad and I only have the 4 hit crusher BP
wait thats the crusher bp?
4 overhead crusher is standard for Rashad
dammit its 5 for me
Did u take 20% ogryn/monster and 15% elite
this is my zealot, don't have a non bricked one on vet yet sadly
so far hadron has bricked 4 375+ :(
3 if 1 crit
This is what I'm talking about TY
For me its 2 if crit 3 if no crit
Oops
Do u have +carapace or +elite on ur Rashad
Yeah weakspot and carapace
That’s probably why
4 hit crusher can vary a lot
U could be hitting for 1180, or just over 900
breakpoint moment
Im hitting it for 1200 plus consistently
this is the current one i'm using (zealot)
That’s the perks doing their work
17mil dockets and this is the only non bricked one
What is "good" to you? Many builds are viable and will play out well with proper gameplay. Some standout to how much value they give for laxer gameplay
Unless you have blessings that scale you should be hitting consistent numbers
If you take 15% elite + 20% ogryn/monster + desperado, the dmg gets very close to a 3 hit, but not every single build takes that so I still consider 4 as standard
I didnt take 20%ogryn or desperado on it and still consistently 3 hit them with out crit
But what i mean is dmg doesnt vary unless you have conditional s like a blessing
So 1180 to 900 shouldnt really be a thing.
I wonder if they made staggered enemies take more damage by default
It was a thing in Vermintide I think
Not by default in this game I think
Its not in darktide at all
Ogryn has an aura that does it
Thats it
And yes after the major bbp for vt2 they changed the game from cleave focus to stagger level focus
Skullcrusher blessing kinda does that
Darktide definitely seems to want to distance itself from Vermintide in some ways that may be percieved as flaws
Stagger levels were the best god dam thing in thebgame
Skullcrusher does exactly that even
That too
Yeah theres loke 2 blessings and the ogryn talent
My point is its rare and not a mechanic
Where as it was built into to vt2
Like stagger = damage boost isn't much of a thing anymore
They gave us mainstay, the talent nobody fucking picked
Ironically
If stagger level 60% dmg came back
Support builds would sky rocket to top of meta
Smite psyker woukd stop sucking ass lul
And for good god damn reason, it was useless
God i miss stagger dmg. Things like bash knight were very impactful ways to help a team
Uhhhhh, what's your rashad roll?
I'm running baseline minimum 70's over here
No BM4
Bmomentum thrust carapace weakspot dmg
Being able to hold an entire horde steady while the team obliterated it because of your damage increases
Oh thrust
All maxed out t4 blesisngs and oerks
I'm hitting BM with Headtaker
Oh thrust that makes sense
Head taker on c axe has always been iffy esp if you take bmomentum
apart from +melee dmg, are there any other talents really needed for rashad?
Since half the reason for taking power goes away with bmomentum
I may give thrust a try
And it stacks it slower than all the other weps
Well u want both bruiser 1HS so build for that in any way u can
Yall ever alt tab and discord gets a seizure?
True but headtaker + bmomentum allows you to hit one shot breakpoint on scab shottguners and scab melee
I'm really into Autoguns. I also like the Recon Las Gun, but I prefer the Autogun lately.
You're already playing vet
One shot melee on shot gunner is a non issue
How
these are bruisers right?, i'm not being really stupid
Wtf do you mean how?
That’s dreg bruiser
The ability to one shot packs of shotgunners is handy since you can 4 of them per swing
687.5hp flak
This is such an annoying fantasy
Cool when it happens
It is not though I do it consistently
You gotta hit the scab bruiser one tap
But lets not pretend
Which is required for rashad
Ok dude im just gonna block you you do you lmao
ye, the scab bruiser is the one with unarmoured as head too right?
???????
Scab bruiser 625hp unarmored
Funniest interaction I've had today ty for making my day
What the hell they can take a bolter shot to the body?
Wait I forget how much the bolter does but aint it like 500
Eh there's probably a damage modifier on it that makes them obliterate anyways
I’m only counting the “head” portion of their body because that’s what axe tends to hit (and what the game wants u to hit)
Body is 625 flak yea
with or without ht?
625 on a horde enemy is crazy
It’s a lot simpler with headtaker
Not for axes
Yeah, the strikedowns usually ignore everything that isn't the head, if the swing will meet the head in its path
Is it?
I was under the impression BM and unarmoured was what you needed for scab bruiser one taps
U can reach scab bruiser 1HS without unarmored, it’s just a lot harder
They are weak compared to like power sword
Power sword supremacy!!!! (It's been more than 50 hours since I last used one)
Lack luster crusher killing
Honestly after the talent trees were added
That was such a huge boost to power
Weapons only stand out if they are god like p sword iag
Game literally became easy ngl
Or awful non cleave shotguns
Or new revolver
Even with legit horrifc guns people confuse the power of the talent tree with the gun
And say look guys its so good
Its nota coincadence that the ammount if true solos skyrocketed after the tree
new revi is bad but funny to use
True solo damnation is the new heresy (with prenerf hound packs) with a full team
I wouldnt go that far lmao
Hey those hounds were crazy
It is a great way to get people into more serious tide though
I do think min max rashash is up there with the heavy hitters
And speaking of ease of use too
It isnt brutual like true solo cata was
It isnt poorly made like true solo malestorm
Its in a good spot
Each one was almost unkillable, and they were almost impossible to stop from hitting you before they made them fair
Vt2 legend hits different than darktide damnation fr
Slave rats when they scratch your back and take a quarter away
Will a qp party be competent in damnation?
Darktide only feels easier when you play it normally
Main reason I've been iffy on it, good to know
True solo legend is a joke true solo damnation is literally impossible for 99.9% of people if they do it with out stealth
Theres more tide magic when you're alone in darktide
Yeah since darktide has good movement if you arent bw lol
You can actually make more plays
Well I guess the better term for it is tide bullcrap
But I digress, Darktide goes kind of insane with how much it wants to kill you when you're the last person alive
Yeah it spawns more stuff
Yeah, Vt2 did the same but not nearly as much
Also the average skill level in darktide is super low right now
80% of people came back post update 13
So its effectively only been out for 3 months for most
Where as vt2 has had over half a decade to develop
I wouldn't call that entirely a product of youth though, the average skill in vermintide was higher even when it was released I think
(It also has a community that isnt outright hostile to the idea of being good)
^this
Look at reddit talking sbout grims atm
People outright refuse to do anything useful in my qp matches
The average 40k player wants an unstoppable power fantasy
The average fantasy player wants to grt ground down it seems
Grims were always kind of whatever to me and only meant I'd be doing the mission faster because of the health ticks
They are so not a big deal
And if you kill people over them you are somehow more toxic than me
is it me or does every veteran build suck except shout + revolver usually
Though there's an argument to be made when 3 people don't want it and another guy insists on keeping it
Nah theres ither good ines
Raking fire infli is good
Exe stance with iag does stupid dmg
Shout is just the best since gold toughness is way over tuned
Shout and revolver being one of the most busted combos in the game kinda makes everything technically worse in comparison, but it's easy for everything to be worse against the best
whats going on with that lol
I run knife stealth, exec helbore with shovel, caxe and shotgun and they all do pretty nice
Guy posted he let a grim holder die on pourpose
Le reddit moment happend
Now its all they talk about
idk I just feel like mobs with other guns just don't die unless like raking fire as mentioned or revolver
Is it greifing to kill teamates barrel of ledge etc
truly a dt moment
Or is it grefing to touch one at all
so its like you have all these nodes and so on that don't do anything
Shoot them in the head and stuff
Thats fair, not like its making everything else irrelevant
I can proc full bore and one-shot scab gunners with the agri shotty, for example
Really the only problematic thing in that set up funny enough is neither of those thing its fucking survivalist
Most enemies in the roster are a headshot or a headshot+bodyshot
Apparently its griefing to be helpful too ig, people like to let you die on purpose for killing everything for them while they look for the 3 ammo they didnt want to waste
are recon lasguns dead atm?
No
Bad players will say yes though which is so funny
Nothing is dead atm
Litteraly everything works
They're not as good as they could be imo
Sure but far from dead
what's a good mark? VId?
Definitely not unusable
The best one is the slowest highest dmg one
The blue one and the brown one
Since they reversed the inverse falloff on the blue one, people got a bit miffed
My fav thing is going in this channel
And watching the circle jerk over hellborns
And the constant hate for recons
Eh there was ljke
The previous game
When vt2 was new it was bad
I like helbores because I think they're cool
They like helbores because they think they're perfect
We are not the same
Also, uh I will say the tutorial in vt2 is better than darktide
The first year if vt2 life legend qp with books was un bateable for most
Im probably thinking of a different time
Cause it at least teaches players you cannot dodge overheads
You can't?
I think you mean block
I mean, you can here
Ill make a whacky prediction 5 years from now auric qp will be the norm that everyone plays with 90% win ratr
I almost exclusively dodge overheads in vt2
Without nerfs maybe
You underestimate qp's incompetence
Eh auric is just so so easy
^
Yeah but they are incompetent due to low hours
When i was malding over the revolver that one day
Those guys were jacking each other off over their hours played
About?
Dude really said he doesnt know how much people like us play and posted a 300 hour screen shot
what
Like dude my steam is at 150 hours last 2 weeks
Give it a few years and auric qp will be easy pz
damn im a elder gamer
Its just weird because auric damn is just
Wave control the gamemmode
Long as you keep moving its good
Smh niso the god wow so cool 😉
im such a giga gamer wowie
We have needed post damnation for a long time
keep in mind xboxers post in here
Its the issue that the "we" here is the minority of players
Fuck xbox
2 weeks have 336 hours in them, playing 150 hours in that time calculates to about 0.44 of your day, or on average 10.56 hours a day
You're done
some guy was posting about his build being god tier with a full page of heresy wins
Folks can barely make it out of 3's and 4's
very impressive stuff
Im luck i dont have to work
Im already retired at 24
No way
How in the hell
You taking VA?
Family's very wealthy
What did you do? Win the lottery?
Oh
The genetic lottery at least
Won the birth lottery
Yes thats how i can stream 10 hours a day for days on end lul
Imagine being born rich and never having any kind of struggle, I got envy
In any case, yeah I mean hour flex is
I just play games man
Kinda cring lmao,
Like yeah I got a job
You can have less knowledge with 1000 hours than someone who has 500
No use flexing hours
Who would win: working for your things or being born with money
Yep, gotta spend the time learning
Hard work is a scam
Which is valid
No one values it

Labors are treated like shit
But talented people who got to the top by luck are envyed
Unironically being born with money ngl, not like you can't work anyways and when you find it you tend to make a crap ton of money anyways
It is, but what is that compared to no work?
Well yeah
It is an achievement to get out of no money
Can't be understated
But uh, damn today's society tough
Financial status is passed down across generations
I think my mother makes like 10x the minimum wage here, not that it's very high to begin with
I wanted nothing to do with nepotism, so I'm here doing food delivery
Chances are if your great great grandparents were poor, you're also probably poor
All im saying is the dad who busts his ass to raise his standing a tiny bit no one cares about or looks up to but the celebrity who adds nothing gets worshiped and i hate it
At least you do something, really glad there's less nepotism
Hard work is a scam
The only people telling you to do it are like my fanily who make ten times what you do because you will do it for less
Some say work smart, not hard
Its just sad and makes me sad to think about
Why bust your ass as a mason hauling sacks of cement when you can do some professional gramming?
Learn to cold
Yep, college tends to lead to a more cushy job that pays better
Guy works hard to work no one appreciates it guy works hard to throw ball better everyone is a fan and loves it no one values work at all
But I think the real crime is conditions being bad enough that people don't lead a fulfilling life on the wages of garbage men, masons and other lower workers
I wouldnt say sports are an easy career, the risk of lifelong injury and the effort involved are pretty tough
It doesnt take more effort than any manual labor job
I can't feed a family on the wages of food delivery
The common worker is 100x more respectable
Thats fair, but to be in a pro sports team you have to be really good, among the best in the world depending on which it is
And yet you still provide less than the average worker
The wonders of entertainment
Course I won't deny that, but its not like they didnt have to do all that work to get where they are
I like to think people who worked a lot of jobs involved in their life get wise
You learn the struggles of the people who deliver your food or create the website you're using
It does
When you can sympathize with people, it gets harder to just think fixing things is "that easy"
It humbles people hopefully,
You certainly don't wanna be on YouTube or world star as a "Karen" because you've never worked a minimum wage job in your life
Absolutely
Main goal in life if you're poor is to get rich enough so that your kids can have a better life, and so on until your family is rich, which usually takes a hundred years or more
Main goal in life if you're rich is to not make an unfathomably dumb decision, but with the education you probably got that isn't likely
I learned to value education after I went to the army
yeah, hearing all the stuff about the army I'm glad I focused on my education
Realized my place wasn't in getting belittled by power-hungry idiots
And that even if I was to become one of them, my life would be so boring it might as well not exist
I'm perhaps fortunate the army memes asking "why aren't people joining the army" when the army is full of people who don't realise the way they treat recruits and troops is the reason why people aren't reenlisting or joining
Its helping my decision not to join, and I'm in canada
Admittedly my biggest problem with the army is dumb people overriding you because they're older
Rank too powerful
I do reminisce about folks, I mean I guess if you're gonna join the military industrial complex you don't want army you want airforce
You don't want marines
In pretty much all aspects of life, your social rank outweighs your intelligence
I remember the cold days of guard duty, chilling wind giving me a splitting headache while I had to stand for 2 hours each shift
especially not marines
And the twat officer saying using the hood we had on our uniform winter jacket was against dress code
But why
And that the gloves were against dress code too because they weren't full finger and olive green
Instead they dared be black and fingerless
The gloves they did give us honestly sucked
Military grade gloves let's goo
But in the end, muh dress code from the snob officer who was older
Did you manage to get VA after?
My friend who was former marines got very lucky, diagnosed with bipolar disorder and then applied for VA
They get payed 2k a month now for the rest of their life
I don't know the lingo in English, but essentially I made the wise choice of telling the doctor I wanted to shoot myself and they discharged me
Oh depression
Which basically means I committed a federal crime if I'm lying, but good luck proving it
It was that or getting arrested for skipping work
Funnily enough, boot camp was the best part for me
A rifle, the wilderness and knee deep in shit
"Be as uncomfortable as possible"
I mean at least they're black so they can absorb more sunheat but damn
idk why but power sword feels first really good to use with power cycler lv4
I want them to give two charges at base and remove that blessing
or make it up to 6 charges
Ew no
2 base and with each lv of power cycler 1 more charge
what would you recommend as second blessing rampage or slaughterer
For psword?
BM imo
I use slaughterer because I can't be assed to keep activating it for hordes
If PC4 was baseline
but activated is the only reason to use PS...
I'd probably do like
also gave graia braced a try... and not a fan
BM+slaughterer
much rather use agri braced or CIAG
its better on zealot
maybe, not a fan of having to brace for max rpm, and then when bracing, it feels like i'm using a shotgun unless i use exec stance
ig that means the gun's actually balanced, unlike CIAG
always felt like extra rof should have been baseline on it
also agri's stagger is just too good
but its not the main problem of braced guns on veteran
love the stagger on that
Okay need some input; for a support build would you rather take focus targets to 8 stacks (and have the redirect fire buff from 7.5% to 12% damage buff), or covering fire, mostly for the times your teammate gets trapped and you need to save his/her ass. Extra damage is nice though
i can't decide where to spend my last point 😩
you just dont have much that synergizes with braced weapons
Either that or i take 8 stacks, i cant decide
Graia gets really accurate on zealot
Is there a problem with them on Vet? they fit my playstyle extremely well at the moment
Take 8 stacks
Imo you want, the best buffs to give
And focus target is more consistent than covering fire
fair enough
Yeah i've been trying out both and i can't really decide. Its not the damage buff thats the reason i take covering fire, it's for pubs mostly to help keep peoples toughness up
extra 3 stacks of redirect fire never hurts either
Brautos felt like IAGs for people who don't want to aim while not having a noticeably better hipfire to make up for it
I can hipfire and headshot shit at close range with IAGs, I feel like I have no use for brautos
if imma be hipfiring allgame might aswell take the higher damaging but less accurate gun
higher damage for magdumping hordes and just bodies in general
they have better ammo
How does Cleave Targets stat work? I don't know how to interpret the numbers
Also that. Can hold M1 with them the whole mission 💪
I mean it does play a lot better on zealot with their talents
it also becomes very accurate with that dodge talent
likely more accurate than average iag user lol
I miss invincible agri brauto rambo vet
I treat them as different. Agri braced on my vet is a spray-and-pray infinite ammo machine, and on my zealot its an accurate crit monster
What do the numbers mean exactly
Enemies have mass values that get deducted from cleave
Once an enemy reduces it to 0, it stops
Poxwalkers, for example, are 1.5
If your heavy is more than 1x that and less than 2x, it will cleave two poxwalkers
Well consider the 8 stacks also makes more damage
You get a higher damage buff, more damage on bosses
More toughness regain
from 20% to 32% mhmm
I'd go with 8 stacks, people in 5 metres are pretty close and at that point they're probably in melee while 8 stacks would benefit the team more against bigger enemies and by proxy increase the damage of redirect fire (especially if you keep tagging before the bonus wears off)
On paper it doesn't sound too good covering, but i've been trying it out the last few days and thats why i find it difficult to decide. Multiple times a game now i've had teammates trapped far away getting mauled on, but with Covering Fire i can keep their toughness maxxed out while i run towards them
But thats of course only useful in situations where you have teammates getting trapped, but that does happen in quickplay a lot
More testing to be done, that focus fire is too good
What's your current build by any chance? maybe we can change round some less useful points to achieve both
Y'know
Good point, let me put it in the website real quick. i'll rather take both if its possible on my support build
I've magdumped netted people since the dawn of time and it never occurred to me to get covering fire
It's so noticeable
Lucius Mk.2 Helbore: Did I do good? Anything I can change or do better?
im pretty sure the toughness regen from covering fire doesnt have a cooldown (doesn't feel like it anyhow), so if someone got 5 weak enemies on them its free toughness
I think it might have a worse flak modifier, but as long as it hits breakpoints do whatever
Wait so cleave targets is a dump stat?
What, no
oh I might be stupid that's the strikedown heavy
The horizontal heavy has more cleave than the lights
Also does it apply to yourself? if it does it might be more useful than I first thought
It does not
but it does apply to all 3 teammates at the same time if they're close enough to 1 enemy
;-;
https://darktide.gameslantern.com/builds/9b2419a8-1d34-4f80-8948-888772e13cc1/vet-support-grenade heres the build i have, i need to scrounge a point away from somwhere but vet tree is too good, too many good skills
mostly torn between the 8 stacks and covering fire still
I'd get covering fire between the two
8 stacks is a pure "If I literally want nothing else"
3 stacks is nice, but having 5 already is really nice
I suppose thats one way of seeing it yeah
but in my brain i'm always like "well im already 3 points deep in the keystone, might aswell"
it isnt going to provide any meaningful change over the other 2 options. At least dont be like some people getting 8 stacks over the side nodes
huh, wonder if covering fires effectiveness in your play throughs has also has anything to do with the increased aura
It buffs something you have, while the other adds a whole new thing you can use
True. 5 stacks is still a massive buff, maybe i want too much 😩
Nah it was probably because I forgot that devil claw 4 has strikedown as first heavy and didn’t check the other heavy
how good is powersword against crushers and maulers?
noticed it has 0 stagger
If I was to change anything it'd probably be demo team for the 8 stacks and maybe rending for ogryn/monstrosities damage (depending on the base guns rending)
rending i have mostly for the frag grenades
specifically PS6 excels against crushers and maulers due to its push attack
demo team could be a swap, its not really needed on a support build yeah. Might give that a go
but just swinging with both do work
light attack power up till they're dead 💪
though when you generate back like 50 grenades in a mission from Demo Team
nah fuck the team, more nades
Yea demo should probably go as u have like 3 grenades so chances are you're always gonna have 2 prepared and 1 on cooldown if you use them often enough
I say as I take Born Leader and all the toughness replenish nodes
People who take born leader are the real MVP
or just take competive urge instead
Born leader haters when I give them 5 toughness back
but demo team possibly giving me a full restock from the enemies that just died to grenades is an amazing feeling
how to use shotguns effectively
i've not tried it out, but it sounds good on paper. 2.5% on any enemy kill by an ally is quite a high chance
hey man 3 toughness off a poxwalker headshot adds up when theres a lot of poxwalkers
true although at the point why have grenade regen on top
always need more nades
more consistent in always having 1
i do more bleed damage than melee damage in auric games with that build
fair fair
But I play Exe. Demo Team is usually my only nade regen
best braced autogun?
pick your poison
they're all in a good spot atm, but my favorite is the agri. Fires the slowest but hits the hardest
agri makes the neurons fire with its chunky bullets (that do penetrate ogryns), columnus is solid, graia has fuller auto
graia braced when you actually brace with it 🤤
full auto and fuller auto
dam is unbraced really that accurate?
Honestly, it was really unreliable
unbraced graia is a laserbeam for some reason
fair enough
Even in thick hordes it felt like it struggled to proc
Had a match where it activated twice
Yea competive urge to me is weird. It will proc but how much are you gonna see it AND make use of it when it procs? At least Demo Team has 5% of just giving back a nade to use whenever
mhmm, and a nade is just there to use. Doesn't go away like the 8 second buff
8s off a random poxwalker at 2.5% doesnt look right to me
but demo team is 5% on elite and special kill, and competitive urge is 2.5% on any allied kill. So i don't know how easy it is to compare them
But if people say it rarely procs i can believe them, its 1 in 40 enemies
Well, demo team will proc less but it also has good use and you can store it
Very true
I wound compare them to a degree off of the principle of chance to proc vs your ability to make use of it
You can't build around comp urge breakpoints and ideally your build already is in a good spot
game decides it procs off a pox horde with no specials around, I mean it proc'd but also its not doing much
Demo team giving you a grenade that can be used at any point of the game is a really nice bonus, if prone to RNG
I escaped the casino once I am never going back
considering auric enemy spam, 5% feels like a lot
when the game gives you back 3 nades from just 8 ogryns you feel like you've been treated right by the AI director for once
This is why I hated warpriest's fury in VT2
It do be a lot. Sometimes by the time i'm done throwing my 3rd frag i'll already have magically regenned two
Felt like I'd work overtime to proc it and then not use it because I worked overtime killing shit
at least zealot's blazing piety is 8s of a buff that happens off of any 25 enemies killed in 25m and stays up as long as something dies and/or you crit. That stays up when it procs. Comp Urge? I'll laugh if it procs off the single trapper that spawned or the last poxwalker of a horde
but you cant work overtime to proc it! Your team needs to work overtime
I mean it says when ever an ally kills an enemy and it doesn't say anything about them needing to be near you
oh for VT2
It doesn't say in coherency radius, so if thats not needed that'll be nice
but an 8 second buff on a random trigger... yeah i can see more useful talent point to spend in between the 3 in that row
problem being is that its still a random moment with no consistency
Sounds like a talent that will get a touch-up in the future anyhow. Soon™️
One day
Haven't tested it myself so I can't fully say for certain and understand the hesitancy
Like Vermintide is getting theirs
if it was like chance to proc off your teammate and as long as you killed an enemy or X enemies during its duration to add to it or refresh it, I could see more value
Cough
I mean its "Comp Urge" it should make you want to show off with a moment of power
I wish competitive urge was a tighter version of piety
Less lenient, but causing people to go on a murder spree to keep it flowing
Piety happens, comp urge should be forced
I think that would be a good change. Chance to proc but its on you to keep it going
yea, maybe it starts off slow with like 2% increase but lasts for 15s and each hit or kill increases it's stats to the numbers currently listed on the passive
oh yeah, another bonus about having max 5 stacks of redirect fire; most people take 8 stacks max and the buffs stack if you have different max stacks but have two veterans with redirect fire
seems a bit busted, probably a bug
would you look at that
best perks for a chainsword?
i used to run extra cleave blessings with it a couple weeks back, but i've not had a proper go of one for a while.
Hopefully some actual chainsword enjoyers can give some input
which melee is the best one that can make use of power cycler
mk6 is the laziest one. just spam light attack into hordes
charged up light attacks
mk6 chain is 2, but the 3rd attack is decent two
this is kinda ass
mk3?
no, the power up thing every 4 hits
ahh right, if that isn't your shtick then don't use the powersword
ive had this discussion a few times here, i hate melee in general unless i can just lightspam
they told me that before
Honestly try powercycler 2 with mk6 sword then, its by far the laziest veteran weapon
just have to get the charge up in your combo, but no complicated heavy-light-block combos or some bs
Jesus Christ how do you play ogryn and go down 5 times and die twice as an ogryn with 3 wounds
Like bro you have a fucking melee
I used my god damn shovel more than he used his
so far ive been using this, i might change tho, got nothing to spend on other than curios
sorry sah, soaking up the boolets so dey dun hit lil 'uns
oh
AND ONE SHOTGUN
If your devils claw dumps mobility isn’t it not much better in combat than a power sword if at all
Then got knocked off the edge by a plague ogryn because he refused to switch to his melee to block the charge and just kept shooting at it while crouched
mk4 devil claw is a good sword, i use powersword personally because it fits my playstyle. In the end the best melee weapon is the one that vibes with you the best, so thats why i always find it worth it to try out differen stuff. Can always go back to your old weapons
On a Plasma Gun, are shattering impact or gloryhunter worth keeping?
only times I find myself mulched as a ogryn is when I have poor positioning when the director goes "oops all gunners"
Hadron bricked me
I did a better fucking job killing the crushers than he did besides his ogrynheimer
only power sword can use power cycler right
Yes
and mk6 is the strongest one?
Yes
if you dont have anything better its still gonna work. gloryhunter is still nice. shattering may not play out well when you only look at your dmg but may be nice for your team to eek out a lil extra dmg
if you want to be lazy in melee then ye
and does it need some combos or is it just lightspam as i was told
Difficulty?
charge up, light spam
yea that
block attack for a stab, good to get crusher heads
I was leaning that way, going to replace shattering with Get's Hot. Still don't have Blaze Away 😦
how would a perfect mk6 look
just power cycler and you're rolling tbh lol. It's a knife through hot butter
I haven’t done auric damnation yet isn’t it literally just damnation but with some more modifiers
this won't be fun
If you can run damnation consistently* you can run auric damnation, or at least give it a go
Yeah
well there has to be the most desirable second blessing, and what about the perks
always hi int
And at that point you should have the skills of not dying to a group of trash mobs and knowing how to melee
Man fuck it I’ll graduate to auric damnation today with a recon lasgun and devils claw
I can parry crushers now
Brutal momentum is the current favoured, but theres a bunch that are good. I have Slaughterer on mine
as for perks, either unyielding, carapace (or extra crit or something) because everything else dies too quickly to benefit from a damage buff

On a side note though how does Cleave Damage work then, if it gives numbers like 136%
yea aurics are just pretty much just damnation with Hunting Grounds/Hi Intensity at minimum
ok rq why is the mark 4 devil sword considered better than the mark 7 when they're pretty similar with the mark 7 having a better light combo and just a reversed order for heavies?
Surely it doesn’t mean it deals more damage on a secondary target
Laziest moveset on the mk4
spam light for hordes, spam heavy for armour
theres value in keeping lights as sweeps and first heavy being a strikedown
That's the thing, I find the mk 7 has the better horde moveset (although it has been a bit since I last played with it)
i've not tried the mk7 either in a while so i can't comment, but i do know the mk4 is just horizontal left right left right
need to slice them heads 😩
In any case all of the Mks of weapons are sidegrades rather than upgrades. So always find the weapon that fits your playstyle the best
this is what i found about mk6
cool, now i just have to roll a decent one
For claw sword is it worthwhile to get it with +carapace damage specifically to fuck over crushers and maulers on parry
@tall torrent you once told me the required stats for a decent Rashad, does power sword mk6 have something like that too? I just got power cycler 4, idk what else would be the best to put on
Or go unyielding for boss damage on anything but beast
I hope we get a bolt pistol soon
what does WS mean
Not really, mobility and cleave targets are the stats to take a hit, the others you want as high as possible (but I'm not aware of any super important break points). For the other blessing you want Brutal momentum or sunder, for perks carapace and then kinda whatever (maniac/unyielding/elite)
Power sword 6 doesn’t have nearly as many prerequisites to be good
It’s basically good out of the box
oh yea i forgot people on the internet will only answer you to correct you
WS must clearly mean wide sweep
usually see it refer to weapon specialist keystone
how is sunder effective? i thought those had insane cleave already
Huh, thought there'd be a pin for listed vet terms, what's the context?
this here
power swords cant cleave through carapace normally, sunder allows you to cleave through it
that makes sense
Yea it's probably wide sweep aka heavy 1 I believe
Sunder iirc staggers crushers reliably as well right? Or was it superchargw
i promise you i know the ogryn youre talking about
WS means weapon special here
so in the context of the combo posted above.
Weapon special (power sword charge up), then 3 light attacks
ah my bad
It isn't the most clear term
But yeah just means that
Hmm, that old He-Man design with the iron cross looking kinda sus
Fits for the Warhammer theme in here suppose
Very close to a good revolver
Not taking any chances
Slapping terrifying barrage on it just to eliminate that from the pool
WS means weapon special. I'll tag you too incase you missed the message
Which shovel is the good one people are using, and which modifiers are good?
Never used shovel but got this one
what are the blessings perks you want on a hb mk2?
because the pin said surgical with onslaught but does it not fire too fast for it?
it will always have at least 1-2 stacks between charged shots, and there isn’t really a 3rd blessing good enough to actively seek as an alternative
i would have thought sustained fire and onslaught were a good pair
some additional crit while ADS which you are always going to do with a hb, is good especially with shock trooper. You can minimize the time reloading and the lack of other nice blessings. mk2 doesnt really need sustained to play around it, your headshots are gonna be 1 taps for the vast majority of targets and if not, most will die in a follow up shot
sustained fire is only gonna buff your 3rd and 4th? shot if firing in rapid succession
thanks!
yea, weird thing to keep in mind and I dont think the extra power is really all that needed, I guess you could see it do something when shooting at a crusher
also I would say onslaught is the real blessing that you can forgo on a decent stat roll mk2
but helbore doesnt have great blessings, so onslaught good
as for the perks?
definitely swap weakspot for maniac
defnitely maniac over weakspot
👍
shame about flak, kinda meh perk on helbores because the only head target that matters to eek out more dmg is scab ragers
Now for the moment of truth
but yeah Surgical is gonna give you more mileage over Sustained Fire, in both situations where you can pre-aim waiting for a shot, and when you're trying to unload your magazine into a Beast of Nurgle coming down the hall
since you just gotta crit enough to overtake 40% damage of a charged shot
Perfect
Never felt onslaught was needed on the MK2. Prefer surgical and No Respite myself.
Now to remove the temp blessing and slap on maniac
that's true, it's better to have Surgical over Onslaught on mk2 if you take longer to aim than the speed at which it charges
partially the reason why I use a mk1
falter enjoyer
I actively avoid onslaught to build surgical stacks per max charge
just hold your fire?
Then why pick onslaught?
Honestly, unless I’m playing casually outside of auric damnation, I can’t stand las guns. Plasma, revolvers, and even the las pistol have just ruined every other option for me.
But I always want to have as many stacks of surgical when hitting max charge
lasguns good...except recon
Give helbore handcannon
laspistol is a lasgun, gotcha
They’re good. You can achieve excellent results with the hellbore for sure. I just prefer being able to effectively snap shot enemies and rapidly swap to another target.
No
It's mine
My hand cannon
How in the fuck
trust in the emperor, with faith 10% crit is the same as 100%
Sigmar balls
Real satisfying to kill a conga line of ragers with a single round fired from a revolver snapping back each of their heads.
Is this worth crafting? If so, what should I change?
Why does the emperor look like nearly like Jesus
I think it's the crown
Take the surgical and run
Lore-accurate messiah of the monotheistic religion
I love titanfall
legion gang
I found that power play was the game insulting you
As in sacrific it for the blessing?
It treats literally anything else as more important
Ion gang
Legion fans after I rip their fucking minigun off
Legion shields when i laser
3/4 with excellent stats should you swap out groaner for unarmored and Infernus for onslaught. I’d grab it just to take surgical regardless.
Nuke eject Ronins after I walk backward
Ronin gang
Tier 2 perk is bad though...
Fuck you
Fuck you
Monarch mains ignoring 3 enemy titans for the doom melee battery finisher
Wowww
Sorry that was rude of me and uncalled for
You're forgiven
🌝
Thank you luna she they fr
Try it without Onslaught then and if you enjoy the weapon’s rhythm you can go without.
pulls out the smart pistol Its gamer time
I just try to imitate the Boston fast boy from team fortress 2
Talking shotgun
Stim
Pistol
ejected pilots when i turn them into confetti with the spread power shot
And entirely blue
Jerma self-insert
Just pretend it's a shotgun
yeh
Why do you not use raccoon wife skin
Racoon what
Lame language
Its joever
I just rolled a 379 shotgun which has 611 damage and my current is a 376 with 591. Is it worth?
Boozin
too small of a difference to matter, the rolled perks and blessings will be more important
assuming they kill everything in the same amount of shots
We're so donald, gamers
which 99% chance they will
I get this system, but I kind of hate it
mk2 and all helbores with onslaught?
Mk2 doesn’t really need onslaught as much as the others
But yes, the entire hellbore family is effective in auric though I’d personally recommend the mk1
I prefer the MkII, but only because I like the aesthetic and use of a spike bayonet, I don't really care slashing with a a knife bayonet
MkI also has a thrust bayonet attack. The MkIII is the only one that uses the slash
Damage isn't everything. It really depends on the other stats as well. That said, a difference of 3 is rarely worth upgrading (unless you are switching to a better stat distribution).
How did this turn out?
I figured, but I like having second opinions
I'd rather keep my 80% stopping power
I can replace the Supercharge with Supercharge III or Power Cycler III
back to the grind brother
not very good, sorry
I don’t think that’ll impact ur 1 shot kill potential much
Screen shot it

For the recon las gun, I have the shocktrooper talent, how would I build it so that my las gun can shoot for far longer?
headhunter + dumdum would probably be the go-to
recons sadly only have one crit modifying blessing
Picking up the crit on dodge attacks talent is pretty good
Yeah thats good
Could dump more stability but I'm a firm believer in perfect weapons having only 70's
And you got high damage so
figured I'd try out a tac axes, got this result on my melee vet first try
thoughts on the perks/blessings?
my blessings are too strong for you traveller. You know not what you ASK
cara to maniac and deci to brutal momentum
since I have some extra cash lying around

good ole flak/maniac
I dunno how to build a shotgun but
Fulbore let's goo
terrrif to no respite
and carapace to either flak or maniac
probably flak
Just made this build
https://darktide.gameslantern.com/build-editor?id=9b1689f3-9542-49e1-bde4-928aff196248
It plays super well, but wondering if anyone has things they might change about it?
im not at home rn but
Definetly replace the corruption resistance
Damnation corruption doesn't come up alot,
You want to get at minimum 2x gunner res, which is important so you don't turn into paper
And
At least 1x sniper res
Because that's what gonna help you if a sniper does connect
I personally never have trouble with gunners or snipers so don't need it. But I hate grims, BoN, and DH corruption so I like taking the resits
resist*
I'd also personally recommend some stamina regen speed because vet has some of the lowest stam regen in the game instead of toughness regen
Well like ahh, its future proofing, grims few people take them, BON corruption is
Very small
I always take grims
And Daemon hosts, I mean you got another problem if you activate one
Urghh
Thats okay
Wouldnt do it personally
And other people activate DH
Even worse when it's someone who does it to kill the DH but they mess it up and die
I used to always take stam regen
What changed its much better than toughness regen imo
Only times I run out of stamina is after I've been sprinting while moving in between engagements
I very rarely run out of stamina during a fight
In melee it kiinda matters but that's fair
And I mean
Veteran Query, is 'Deadshot' good? Playing on heresy it seems like we spend a lot of time sprinting, I guess because people are trying to speedrun or sometimes because they want to rack up dps, it feels like I don't get much out of it. It destroys in training area but when you're trying to keep up with some zealot who's determined to outrun the team maybe the weak point perk is better? This might be a stop queuing with randoms problem
it can be good but to get any real use out of it you'll need at least two if not three stamina curios because the way it scales and Vet's already somewhat terrible stamina rates mean you need to build very into it to see it not gut the stamina economy
it makes a pretty big difference on revolver
Sounds like I need the damage to weak spot then. I'm only recently 30 so my curios are kind of weak and are on toughness and health. I'm using the autogun
anything makes a big difference on revolver lol
I'll try to dissuade you from picking corruption resistance because it's not corruption that's gonna be killing you, I mean if you're also picking up grims you might as well pick up grim resistance
Because corruption sources from enemies is small
Corruption source from grim is HUGE
What are the lore implications of the rejects hotboxing the Mourningstar
Iunno but I'm hotboxing any and every elevator I walk into (I throw smokes)
is it just me or is vet made of tissue paper
Stack max toughness curios
I think the only real damage mitigation vet has is to not get hit. I feel like the vet's toughness talents are actually pretty good at keeping a high toughness percent to allow you to take 1-2 hits but the idea is to either not be in melee or to be a dodgey little karker
😌
voice of command is pretty good
NOW TO BE FAIR we can make toughness pretty well even for a weapon spec melee build
And infil literally just
Refills your stamina
level 4 blessing that I dont even have to rebless into a level 2 feels so weird
it is done
This is also for the normal shot so yeh
I had to level a new character just to farm those two
I wonder how good the horde clear is with this
6 bleed and fire
its a bit annoying that I hit 30 before they introduced that system.
Hey kiddos. Knifemaxxer here. I hope everyone is having a good fucking Saturday evening. Stay hydrated and stay STABBING
on my vet*
So young to be doing a job like this
you are never too young to die for the Emperor
reminds me of that crashed mutant vessel right into the ventilation of the vat halls
Our leftenent for the 491st regiment was awarded the rank at just 6 months old after being the only survivor of an attack on a convoy
whats the top 3 meta range and melee rn for vet?
Wonder if I can spray it at a horde from afar and kill it before it touches me with two crits
Some babies his age couldn't cut it but Leftenent baby face rose to the occasion
knife
Knife
knife always goat
Recon, autopistol, boltgun
Knife

other than reigning goats
then swap to zealot so you can throw them too
there is your melee and ranged meta
haha saw that today and thought the same
What more on earth could you possibly need. The knife brings love the knife sparks joy
keep in mind to buy the cadian armour so you are a veteran anyway
zealots can be guardsmen too
The knife cleans game the knife cuts tinder the knife slays your enemies
with the right fashion
The knife is the roof above your head and the bed beneath your bosom
My entire house is made of knives
Ouch
Don't put the bolt in the same category with recon and shredder lmao
typing on a keyboard of knives
a poetic expression of your love
I don't use cream key switches o use cherry red lubed mx knives
rapid finger tip stabbing sounds
impressive
Like all the autoguns are fine, heck even autopistol is usable
Only recon is in a shit spot
It's really hard to pick a bad gun with vet tbh
Even the shit ones are still "useable"
Infantry lasgun is just that
yeah my experience too
Solid all rounder
support vet makes good teams that win games lol
it's overtuned
If you can't hit your shots it sucks
People who can shoot think it's OP
i one deaged my way though pcomps in counter syrike 1.6 guys i think i can revolver
Slow the reload even further, nerf the rending blessing a little bit
You're sacraficing literally every other stat for damage. I better get my fucking damage
revolver has a massive hitbox. im bad at shooting. it IS overtuned
Anecdotal evidence throw it out
even i can hit literally any shot with that thing
Your modesty is appreciated
I dont think any gun should be able to kill a crusher within 0.5 seconds
can you hit my ass with it?
if youre my ogryn teammate i already have
Not even a bolter???
what else can u hit my ass with
and the 5 ragers behind you
I mean for bolter you do have to unload more than half your clip
I don't think the revolver is overtuned. But it SHOULDNT DO MORE DAMAGE THAN A BOLTER
laspistols
So its fair
A BOLTER FIRES A 2 STAGE .75 CALIBER EXPLOSIVE ROUND
heavy lasguns too
Also honestly
Why does revolver even have cleave
THAT IS MUCH FUCKING BIGGER THAN THE REVOVLER ROUNDS
baneblades
beyblades
heavy stubbers
It makes ZERO sense for a bolter to do less damage per hit
Revolver’s shooting better bolter rounds than the bolter
