Damage type perks are actually more effective the better your gun is against a type baseline. While the gun is severely overtuned and ultimately you could run it gray in auric 5's no problem (I have on my zealot), if we're talking about optimization then +maniac is still the best value along with flak.

You presumably already are, and flak/maniac are way more omnipresent as enemies. You'd overall save way more shooting them and then have that ammo for the ogryns. Also you ended the kill on 45 from 56 so 11 boolets.

Keep in mind that performance =/= rarity or large numbers. As a fine example, a gray columnus IAG will outperform fully built versions of many other guns. And a high statted caxe that's missing brutal will have much worse horde clear than another melee weapon with lower stats.
