Yep. You're there to pew pew when you see a lot of targets like a shotgun or rager squad. Use assail as your filler and melee. Vets with scavenger are your friend. You whip out the gun when you have the ammo and need to. You see things dropping.

Had a plasma vet flame me one game "stupid gun psykers wasting all the ammo" like 3/4 of the mission. While in reality I didn't pick up any ammo if anyone was yellow and had already walked by and was basically sustained off the aura and he was struggling to keep up in dmg

Blaze away drops too fast without using charged shots, you end up spamming and being inaccurate/wasting ammo, when tap shotting gets the job done efficiently. Volatile helps charge rate but again you hardly charge. So that leaves Gets Hot as BIS with either Gloryhunter or Shattering as your second depending on if you want defense or some rending on heavy armor. And I think things die too fast for Shattering to be noticable, leaving GHx2 as your blessings

2. "continuous fire is easier to control". it becomes a laser pointer after first 5 bullets.

In terms of straight damage stat Vraks 7 is highest but each has its out time to kill (ttk)/dps. I think CIAG and Agri Brauto (and headhunters) are more or less the undisputed kings, while the other guns vary in effectiveness
