#veteran-class
1 messages · Page 312 of 1
This one is good in terms of blessings and stats but the gun itself just hurts right now
i guess i could take it for the option in case they buff it later on
bex is if you liked the vanilla game and just want improvements to it
Definitely a good one to keep around
roguetech is if you want a very challenging and masochistic experience that completely changes every aspect of the game
and BTA is imo a solid medium
fair warning all big mods give the game some serious performance issues
the game is on unity you see
also on another note, if you like the universe of battletech but want a non turn based experience there's mechwarrior 5
the vanilla is dogshit
but with mods it's a kickass experience
and the dlc's add some fun campaigns to play through
I still need to play that game
I hope the success of armored core makes people consider making mecha games
and tell fromsoft that the franchise is not dead
Gotta be careful what mods you get though, I tried to do the one where it balances the game closer to MWO
That was a huuuge fucking mistale
At least in early game
which one?
I tried to do it with the base campaign
if you mean yaml the difficulty is very customisable
I wouldn't touch the base campaign with mods
it's already kinda buggy
just start with career
there's even mods to enhance that and allow you to start in a custom year
with differing amounts of money and mech types
It just wasn't pleasent to fight like the 3 urbies the game wants you to, but they have ac20 BF's
prolly yaml then
or one of its addons
urbie early game with an ac20 is a real nightmare to come across
but yeah yaml and its addons are basically a must have
without it there's a lack of variety in weapons, mech variants, inner frame parts etc
@formal lake just did a auric maelstorm with the axe its pretty good indeed
m1 tier for sure
mech games
is a genre i think could have a lot of potential lol
MWO completely fucked it up
mecha doesn't really have any mass appeal so most avoid it I feel like
but i think there is a world where a good one can take over the market
armored core is like the peak series in the genre
this works for melee as well right
Yup
ok wtf vet just takes a poopy on every other class
Not that big a poopy
eh I doubt it will take over the mass market but ac6 sold over 2.8mil copies so hopefully it means fromsoft will make a sequel game like they usually do (and make new ac games after)
it's like jet games
ace combat 7 wasn't exactly winning goty awards but it sold very well
Ace combat 7 won my heart
I can only hope ac6 will get it's project wingman at some point
ace combat 7 is some of the most fun I had in a game
i do think it's something that consumers want
mw is just way too incomptent
for owning the ip
mw?
vet doesnt have the most immediate and braindead add-clear some set-ups can do
the ip belongs to from themselves afaik
flamer on zealot / flame nades, purgatus / fire trauma psyker
they can do whatever they want with the series
i know i play with a psyker who does 1mil dmg regularly
vet has really good support in general and damage for important targets
psyker is the strongest class in the game for green circle
piranha games currently owns the mech warrior license i believe
but the games theyve made are pretty meh
I was talking about armored core lol
but yeah i'm aware
maybe clans will be decent
since they should have learned a lot from mechwarrior 5's lifespan
Ogryn has the best designed tree imo
The old old mech warrior games were the shit
so i just leveled up vet from 1-30 today and I have a question
go outside and touch some grass
ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
eeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Focus Target gives up to 20% damage right? So mathematically speaking Focssed target doesnt need to be taken over superiority complex right? Because 3x 4% is 12 vs 15%
and so on and so forth
Ogryn's tree is just simple
"Heavy Attack"
"Body Guard"
"Gun Things"
Its uh. . . too straightforward for its own good imo
I like tryna spec into the 1st 2, heavy attackin shield with body guard to boot
bro it was only like 3hrs man
Watch all the fodder troopers run to me cuz my shield is shiny
No
Heavy Hitter is stupid
its +25% damage
+25% damage
Yeah
its fuckin nuts
Shits OP

Lucky bullet when it only refills 20~ bullets in over 100 rounds
Makes a shield look like the mace on his other hand in terms of speed
Is major funny
Sorry 200 rounds
we get mk4 cleaver

and bull butcher
and mk3b basher
(Mk3b basher best ogryn melee)
Uh
its the mix of "lemme delete this real quick"
and "I am now invulnerable"
heavy attacks are good, light attacks are good, it gets +80% damage and +80% rending
I'll be honest
laughs in kickback
Ogryn weapons should be the baseline for melee
The human melee weapons are all super fucked right now
from top to bottom
literally only the combat knives are actually balanced
Oh, and I guess the two vet shovels
Yeah, they're not even bad either
Tac axes shred
just not combat axes/dueling sword/power sword
eviscerator
crusher
blablabla
so whats the point in bringing a tac axe
when you can bring literally anything else
Its toeing the line
Also opinions?
but its not
so that's cool
I'm fine with things that graze the line
but when you get antax/rashad/power sword
its like well alright, we've gone from toeing the line to moving it to denmark
and its just like "why"
Video is processing
basically every human melee, in one shape or another, needs a huge balance pass
And guns
tbh
just. . . fuckin gimme operation health

I agree
You want to know why?
A moron can top score on Ogryn
I was saying Ogryn folding shovel is better
You actually need to be good at vet to do well

Depends on staff
trauma staff is lower skill floor than vet
literally just aim down
and you're invulnerable to melee enemies
What about Gunpsyker
Purg staff supremacy
Opinions please…
and he isn't now
I've yet to implement Bubble into builds, any recommendations?
yes and your crusher kill was slower than shovel
Illegal
your crusher kill bit into my bruser footage
Only in some states
This is why i say Ogryn is better than vet
well
and a bunch of my crusher footage was walking towards the crusher
Crusher is better melee than Zelot
and ~300hp
was my point
and has the best melee toughness regen talents in the game
clear hordes with ease, one shot elites
So you're just invulnerable all the time
what's not to love
so what
That straight up doesn't matter
I can beat a mission in 25 minutes as ogryn
or 25 minutes as veteran
I kill for brusers per swing and stager a ton after that
¯_(ツ)_/¯
swing again
litterally doesn't matter
horde is not important if you know what you're doing
Like yes.
I get it Azrael
you're coming at this from a "I wish to approach the game as a true solo player"
and aye, vet is better in that regard
because you get -6 seconds flat off your ult
when killing a special
and gold toughness makes you functionally invulnerable
not faster than killing important things
and you don't have to deal with ogryn's weird movement penalties
But in the, I guess "regular", game, ogryn and vet are on equal footing cause ogryn gets infinite toughness regeneration for just touching people in melee
watch it again, your crusher kill was slower they both end at the same time and yours was biting into my bruser footage
All you need to really adjust to is your humongous hitbox
and I kill multiple elites many times in a game with one swing
Though i will say a 4 ogryn pub is generally harder than a 4 vet pub
PLUS I didn't use my main weapon vs crusher = the charge - or even shoot them with the kickback that knocks them on their ass
yeah, new ogryn shovels are dumb
and brutal momentum needs to be nuked
that's the real issue
the shovels have legitimate drawbacks for the nuke
Yes

Yea you just might have to swing twice
Just look at VT2
not a single weapon in that game has brutal momentum
and all the melee are good
well
elf axe aside
Even shield and hammer and shield and axe are, shudders, good.
They're just slow.
Puri I'm curious if you think Vet melee is better than Zelot rn
Depends on player skill level.
Can you take less than 400 damage a match?
Then vet
are you bad at melee mechanics?
Zealot
^
why would i take damage as a vet
Vet's skill floor is somewhere around the stratosphere
makes no sense
so vet better melee than zelot, Ogryn better melee than zelot, both have better range than zelot. This comes back to what I said earlier today that set you off Azreal, what's the point of Zelot?
ogryn's skill floor is in basement sub level 6
and zealot is just the basement
But worse survivability
so it evens out for the average player
Shield of Contempt, Holy Revenant, Bleed For the Emperor is dumb
I agree
Especially on a martyrdom build
But ogryn gets literally infinite toughness for just interacting with melee
so like
Does shield of contempt get used up by braindead teammates though?
Uh
Ogryn gets 71% flat
36% x 30
or something like that
just for existing ogryn gets 71% TDR
well that is good to know - but also Ogryn gets a stacking 10% DR from bleeds nearbye
so it can have insane TDR
Then from there its down to specific talents
FNP is great - I wouldn't run an ogryn without it
60% from bleed
30% from stat nodes
36% from being ogryn
25% from feel no pain
so like
ogryn's survivability is out of this world
I wouldn't be surprised if its multiplicative
thats why you can feel the difference if u lose stacks I guess
Oh, I know that Bleed TDR is multiplicative
its insane
I meant inside of itself though
but whatever number it ends up at, it is yes, multi with other talents
but I'm pretty sure bleed TDR stacks additively inside of itself
like FNP does
I made a dumb ogrn build for running the hidden assault condition
The ogrynomicon build "Tyrant" is the best build for solo play.
But its still going to take way more effort than zealot or veteran
How do you even get it?
Ohh
veg12 is the most fun modifier in vanilla darktide
definitely not bad i think
it sends horde at you non-stop and then it feels like HI-Gauntlet on top of that plus rare heal pickups
veg12 otherwise
Though melee only with the new ogryn shovels is probably uh
pretty fuckin snooze fest
just pickaxe the whole map to death
all 5 shovels have good movesets
all three ogryn shovels, and both veteran shovels
I don't like the new vet shovel with the vertical sweeps though - when you fold it the attack comes in at an angle
yeah exactly it's ass lol
Almost a nice aur damn reward
This is where my ogryn hours come in handy
To hit head
I'm WAY more fair to weapons

I'm not enslaved by power sword/combat axe
new chainsword
its fuckin great
I love the new chainsword
can you make the new chainsword do well vs hordes?
I don't think I've used a combat axe in ages since it got really boring
The Rashad is neat though
I don't like how I haven't gotten a good one yet 😦
You have defended the case that stubbers have effective range so I'll give you that for sure lol
I can dig that opinion
I like the old chainaxe too
it actually teaches you melee fundamentals
on how/when to dodge
I don't like how the chainswords take so long - when it comes to hordes I'm camp Rashaad all the way - but I Like the strike downs and activated chain vs elites of course
when to use push attacks
when to take risks(gluey light attacks)
Its a very, VERY good weapon for teaching people how to get good at melee
Negative
All time when you push on it since the push and push attack are like the same animation time
only if you run it without BM
cause with BM, you ALWAYS have a get out of jail free card
negative
If you decide to learn how to melee on a knife, you instead get carpal tunnel syndrome
using push attacks on the regular as veteran is dumb
and extremely dangerous
So you need to know when
only on the xg13
I always felt like the Reshaad's special attack was weak compared to Antax
or whatever
in terms of stagger
the stab on the og chainsword is lightning fast
The old chain sword
I just do push attacks when I want to push on the old chain sword since it's the same animation time before I can attack anyway, so I might as well get something out of it
ohhh
you want flak/unarmored on rashad anyway
It took me so long to get a reshaad axe with the right perks/blessings I don't think mine is good enough to do that
What enemies does Rashad's Finesse overtake a good roll Antax anyways? It feels like similar # of hits to kill for me
I'd probably do carapace or unyielding for crushers/bosses
More towards unyielding
cause its funny outdueling plogryn as vet
Crab really monkey pawed the rashad
which is hilarious
if the rashad still had the old hitbox detection
it'd be a footnote in history still
You had to aim at literally the roof to hit anything in the head
fucking hilarious
having trouble getting better # hits on Ragers, but that may just be shoulder-hitting more
no you could
Crab has a few videos around here of him only headshotting a DH to death
You had to literally be looking straight up

Point being: old rashad was unuseable dogshit
I wish fatshark would just make it where the crosshair is
and ignore the weapon animations altogether
Its infuriating trying to fight maulers as ogryn
I have literally aim at the floor
to avoid hitting their head
WHY
WHERE IS THE SKILL NEEDED IN THIS
I just wish it were tied to where my crosshair is
Depends on the weapon
the clubs can't hit chest for example
unless you aim at the floor
same with shield
The mk4 and mk3bb can
cause the hitbox is "tiny"
relatively speaking
so aiming off to the left or right nets the body shot
No.
I uh
solved ogryn
a long time ago
and rarely deviate

In that way, I am very ogryn
"big stick hurt hard"
and not much else thought goes into it
I mean
I run glugger FNP
with achlys
not exactly a high skill playstyle either
I literally crouch in the open, and shoot 300 rounds without reloading
No
Achlys got a new buff
a few weeks ago
if you crouch and brace
you get 100% accuracy
give or take
out to 50 meters
So if you take the rending node
instead of fire bullets
you just delete the whole map with almost no ammo wasted
No
that got patched
It was because each pellet that hit a new body part would proc +3 burn
so a body has 2 arms, 2 legs
torso
head
x3

Fatshark patched it so the ATTACK procs the burn
not the pellets
So now you only get +2 burn per shot
Granted
You can light 21 enemies on fire with ripper mk2
per attack
which is pog
But yeah
Rippers fell off hard for me
due to the magazine nerf, reload speed nerf
and doubled special spawns in auric
I'm working on vet and psyker now to get them both to level 250
I know, that's not 250 missions
But I want zealot, veteran and psyker at level 250
So I can go play ogryn more without feeling bad
My zealot's done
veteran is level ~220
and my psyker is level ~110 or something
I only used counterfire MG12
bolter
and SAP
before patch 13 on vet
and it was obviously not super entertaining
Ogryn you just smash your face into the keyboard
and somehow do 900k damage in 30 minutes
I don't question it

I'd put it to 10%
tbh
and move them to different spots in the tree
so you can't grab both
and need to fully commit to a tree to get em
sucks for the newbies leveling
but too bad
use confident strike
Vets dogshit
is this any good or bricked
and I refuse to change my opinion on that
He's a VT2 career in darktide
and its just outright not fun
I have no idea where to even start putting points into vet tree. So I just keep coming around and then going 'eh maybe later'
Without VoC up
the only mk3 I have is a meme
a poxwalker does full damage
well, VoC and Ironwill
no
just all heavies
or all light attacks
either one works
Use light attacks on middling size hordes cause you don't need to worry about stagger
heavy attacks for big hordes
cause the stagger comes in handy
Mk3 shovel is the combat axe on light attacks
regardless
one of the heavies is a top down single target
the push attack is an overhead
this is the standard issue and mk7
the mk3 is not
Oh
did fatshark give vet two shovels
I thought it was just the blue one
and the OG one
there's 3 m8

there's standard issue, original shovel
Ogryn Colors showing
heavies are sweeps
blue folding is mk7
similar to standard issue heavies are sweeps
I quit caring about new weapons a long time ago
and has diagonal fold
because this crafting system actively punishes you for using it
and mk3 is more for single target
Slab didn't have their fingers up.
I just saw the patch notes that vet got a new shovel
I didn't know it was two new ones
But yeah, I only try new weapons after someone here says something interesting about it.
Otherwise they aren't real
probably heavy light or just spam lights..?
Solid weapon
Yep, I love the new evis, and the fixed Chaxe.
I run mine with momentum and rampage
Cause its just an ogryn weapon in disguise
so I build it like an ogryn weapon
yeah @formal lake check and get back to me if you can on if you think thrust/limbsplitter works for hordeclear or if my shovel is shit
going to play now
you can just do that already without shred. Well, not literally EVERY swing. But you can manage every other
Can I get some opinions on a build
Since the skill trees came out though I've played so, so little Veteran, and now I'm utterly lost with it.
you dont kill enemies fast enough so you get the +30% crit from scourge
Yeah, OG vet shovel is one of those "Holy shit this thing is actually balanced" weapons
I like it
a little tedious to use, but that's because everything else is mindbogglingly op
You'll make it, just try things out (Focus target, weapon spec)
COUGH
Are there any lasguns that are in a good spot right now? Kinda new to the endgame
I can give you a couple solid builds
Also voice of command
that have the puri stamp of approval
I can't tell if I hate or love the agri shotgun
I'd appreciate something that works with the new knoife, and columnus infantry, or one of the ... whats the keystone called... weapons specialist the swapping seems fun
The big thing with vet though is that you NEED to be great at melee
it's so gimmicky
otherwise you just get shit on
but it's kinda fun
Voice of Command notwithstanding
VoC lets you do dumb shit like this
that thumbnail is hilarious
Build one bonnie
specifically
build 2
any ranged weapon works
plasma and revolver
Ah does the columnus not work well with the wep specialist keystone?
No
Weapon Specialist wants you to use that guaranteed crit
plasma and revolver get a bunch of oneshots with critical hits
ragers, ogryns, specials
I see!
you name it, its a oneshot with a critical hit
the attack speed buff is neat otherwise
but it works best on volvo and plasma
What about one for picking off specials that isn't a revolver?
Mg1a, MG12, MGIV, All three IAGs, all three brautos, all three shotguns
plasma gun
all three vraks headhunters
all of the guns on vet are cracked except for shredder autopistol
that shit is digustingly bad now
the damage profile on it needs to be brought up to the graia brauto
at the very least
smh, i enjoyed using the auto-pistol early game
I ran MG12, Bolter and SAP pre patch 13
SAP pre patch 13 shouldn't exist I agree with Fatshark there
but it now its just dogshit
cause everything got its HP buffed through the roof
and the SAP still has a terrible base unarmored damage of ~70
granted
the SAP has like 90% adm on everything
Well I don't have a revolver on my vet, so plasma it is
so its damage profile across the board isn't bad per se
its just that the damage it does isn't enough for the ammo pool it has
either double the damage, or double the ammo pool
I don't really care which
Honestly, I'd be cool with it having 1100 ammo in reserve
Is there a specific build for the infantry lasguns or should I play around with the tree? Hahaha
Uh
Not marksman focus
that keystone is trash

But anything that works you to the ping node is good
Is the survivalist aura not important so much anymore?
I'd do something like this
The fact that HH is asking you to get headshots doesn't mean grab marksman focus IMO
its good for passive elites
like machinegunners
but beyond that, you're just gonna be drilling torsos
where exe stance comes in
I dunno, maybe you're a pro fps player
or have an aimbot

Is it still doable with the shout? Hahaha
I keep getting gimped by hordes during exec stance
just miss out on survivalist
bring a combat axe or power sword
Or should I just try to stay with the group?
because they remove all the difficulty of hordes
they're like. . . the perfect melee solution for counterfireExe Stance vet
which I both hate and love
You should always stay with the group
Speaking of; i still haven't tried the combat axe yet; been pretty much exclusively using a power sword.
The axes are fun
Eh i usually run a chainsword or power sword
No I mean I get cut off a lot of the time and when I get swarmed there's nothing to push back the horde hahah
Im not sure how fun the axes will be
I think I'm playing the game wrong tho
No
that's just what happens when you have a "mediocre" weapon
(Which is how the game SHOULD be balanced)
getting cut off from the team should be a death sentence only the best of the best can scrape out of
But for now
just run power sword and delete everything
Chainsword gang 🤝
Ahhh okay okay hahah gotcha. I'll try to roll for a better powersword
It's somewhat backwards looking back; i'll use my chainsword for armoured enemies and my Graia to clear hordes
This plasma alright, or do I need to change something?
What's y'all pet weapons, that you like without looking at their strengths
cause the spray is too much fun
I'm more of a colomnus guy but I see the point
I tried it
i will admit if i could go back i'd keep mine now
Or Agrippina if I fucking got one
the Graia has a little too much kick for me
but then again; hip firing auto guns doesn't seem to have any recoil
power cycler
that's really all you're looking for
I wish I could get a mg1a
brutal momentum or slaughterer besides that
you can forget about perks for now until you really care about minmaxxing
So for reference, it's better to 'find' the weapon you want apposed to just requesting it yeah?
I've heard of people burning thousands of plasteel looking for power cycler
From brunt ?
Brunt's a bitch
Keep your 320 Greys
You just spam it to get something mediocre after spending 300k dockets
It's sort of a do you want to trade more time, or more plasteel thought
auto pistol run
You can wait for Melk to give it to you, and save plasteel, but gods that could be months
autopistol kinda poopy
fun with raking fire tho
i was thinking of manstopper scattershot agrip shotgun
laspistol? heavy or not
I'm running that right now actually
It's fun
I have no idea what to do with this shovel
Consume it
But I don't understand why it's damage is so low relatively compared to other shotguns
Nutrients
change thunderstrike to thrust
change sprint efficiency to flak
and you only use heavy attacks
literally extreme; corpse starch can't be that bad.
Hahah... uhhhh, I may have to bulk up my repetoire.
Aggressively relatable
Buy or nah?
bruh
My only non power sword
right I figured
huh; there's a tier above orange
shows how little i knew.
Nah orange is current highest, thats just picture quality
No reds like VT2
Theres plenty of rumors of reds eventually, since we have such low caps on weapons and everything.
Tbh now that I'm remembering it what did reds even do different from orange I can't remember
me getting flashbacks to playing total war inquisitor martyr; seeing that red
I never got good at VT to know sadly.
I have like
One veteran
Doesn't feel different compared to the orange next to it
I will say, until a dev confirms it I gotta wait
Also people are gonna hurt, whoever spent the 5m just to roll for 1 good weapon
They always rolled perfect modifiers
nah they'll add a way to up the tier; if they add another specially after so long
While orange just rolled the range
i can't imagine they just pull the finger on everyone
Between like 1-5%
which melee weap are ppl having fun with, not loving the chaxe and am bored of powersword
Dclaw is always fun
For the parry
Become shovel warrior
ive never beena fan of the shovel just cause its not a cool asthetic buuut maybe its time to join the cult of the shovel
Ah
Thoughts?
Yeah regular shovel, and the mk3 shovel are good options
Sure, a bit low on the stopping power. But otherwise it's a good lad.
Pretty good
Besides critical hit damage I think thats one of the best
3/4
Nah it's still good enough, anything 65 and above is good
And stability
It's a melter, I tell ya that.
does this mean your ADS fire?
correct
anyways what do you guys think I should do with this
yes
replace trauma for thrust
and take a swing for uncanny
or decimator/uncanny
brunt please
hey, is it outta pocket for me to say that vets with headhunter and plasma guns should be the ones targeting gunners
like is that crazy
Should load boltgun ammo in headhunters instead

Nah can we just get a shotgun that shoots bolter rounds?
Look at this swag ass coat.
We kinda do
It's clunky as fuck, even more so than the bolt
But we do
Which shotgun lol.
Agri
Not really.
The slug shotty
That one is shooting what I would assume to be a 4 gauge slug when you alt fire.
The slug actually does more damage than bolt rounds though
I'm talking about a shotgun that shoots the same ammo as a bolter which is rocket propelled explosives.
It's not about the damage.
It's about the cool factor.
Yeah I'm just saying it'd be a cool addition to have, it won't ever happen so that's why I'm just saying it'd be cool.
Only like 38 more weeks till we possibly get Cadian outfits people!
🥳
kill me
how good is the onslaught talent ?
Best I can do is make it red and have an ugly camo pattern
dont forget to mention by then theyll have creeped the price up to 20bucks a set
Nah I am guessing that the sets will come out on September 19th and cost 2900 Aquilas a set.
MAYBE September 5th, but probably September 19th.
Is it level4?
Which blessings should I look for on an Agripinaa Mk 8 BAG?
only got level 3 atm
what is the dump stat for plasma?
Plasma dump stat... HAHAHAHAHAHA
well, one's got to be less important with fatshark's 380 cap
I'm considering whether it's worth it to buy stuff like that
even if blessing is not so Hot (pun)
Some lobbies just make things waaaaay more difficult than they need to be by running around solo. 2 zealots just playing a solo game makes it a super uphill battle
anyone know whats best blessings for shredder pistol
It was Pinning Fire and Blaze Away, not so sure now since PF nerf
Is there a throwaway stat for the plasma gun?
thermal resistance is the "least important"
but not throw away by any means
Well how much does ammo actually do on plasma
You can check on the inspect screen
By hovering the ammo
Like the 33%
Oh its 99/99
Yeah that ain't great
yeah lol
Before I accidentally spend Ordos. Which recon lasgun is the slower shooting but harder hitting one
My honest reccomedation is don't bother
I don’t care. I want one
Yah that’s it. Thank ya
7a
I think I'm a convert, this is sick shit
Yea man bloodletter is insane, esp with brittle crushers melt like ice cream on a 400 lb hooker
bosses are a speedbump
yes, it's literally the best blessing to have
now everyone begin arguing about whether sunder is completely useless or not
yes
This makes the Kriegsman feel complicated
oh and be sure to take the weakspot talent node too
I mean, in general, always take it. But especially for psword and plasma
Imagine dying first in a Twins fight as a Veteran with shout, kraks, and a refusal to swap off the MG XII. Now picture them demanding to know why the other Veteran didn't use their shout to revive them, asking them how they didn't know it revives teammates, and then disconnecting.
I don't think they even know that's a separate talent node for it. Like they must have seen someone revive with it once and assumed it was baked in, never reading the description.
What are best in slot blessings? should I change my perks?
Rampage and Savage Sweep are the typical blessings.
I'd see if switching elites to maniacs doesn't let you one shot ragers on rev.
autopistol large flashlight meta
it always shows when i quickplay lol
kinda wanna take it for a spin with the suppressed damage bonus
of course, without a flashlight weapon
should I swap the melee crit chance blessing for manics?
only if you want extra help killing muties and dreg ragers
omitting other specials because they crumple like paper
I love how the DC 7 and 4 are just reversed animations. I used the 7 for like hundreds of hours and just switched to the 4 because I realized H1 being an overhead would be better
I still do the wrong animations
Hot take. I don’t like the revive
i greed the point and don’t take it
big stagger radius and more overshields is quite nice
more shouts over the course of a mission
revive arguably makes shout worse
Anyone got a good hybrid build perhaps? I really wanna use both gun and melee. Preferrably lean more towards melee but still be able to heavily use guns.
sadly the ps mk6 only has bm2...time to wait for another refresh
if you really need to revive someone with shout, just, you know, shout and revive them while everyone is knocked on their ass
You can shout revive? Is that a Veteran thing?
alternatively revive them instantly into flame or gunfire which they won't be expecting and will stand there like a moron for a half second before dying again
yes
and Kruber's
yeah, shout then rez them. very standard
POV: Your Vet is level 5 and you just came off Zealot.
Lol
lol, I think he meant the subnode for it
happy gasmask noises
very nice
nice
my first 30 was zealot, then went to vet. very happy to chance
**change
but perks/blessings?
what is at the bottom that you are not showing us? ;d
i feel like its another building material from hadrom
Yeah I'm currently working on my Ogryn. Then I'mma focus on Vet. I'm saving Psyker for last cause I hate how frail they are. I know Vet CAN be frail but he was ways to off-set that in most of his trees if I recall.
Psyker really doesn't have many options.
vet is kinda in middle of squishy tiers. positioning, using kit to escape/make distance, and awareness will save you
later on when you have access to good weapons it really gets fun because you can 1 tap specials via plasma and horde clear with multiple diff melee weapons
you'd be surprised
and if you go meta plasma/power sword mk 6, you can be pretty safe with good rolls
in terms of raw EHP psyker definitely is a bit lower comparatively
but KD, bubble, crazy toughness recovery
and the sheer power of the psyker exclusive melees
make them pretty strong defensively
smite/flame staff, good melee options on psyker too
I am... two of those things. Positioning and using my kit to escape. My awareness, however, is that of a bird who constantly flies into a window thinking it's the sky still.
it comes with time. took me a week to break into damnation after moving to vet
still get in bad spots, but not as much as when i go full zug on zealot
I haven't even tried damnation on Zealot. Heard it's very, uh... BAD with pubs.
ive seen zealots do great in damnation, but some of them in heresy and lower have made me walk away from my computer and take a break
I'm running one of those builds where I just
run forward and click.
clear out whole hordes with a few hits
Damnation can go either way really, either you get a team that doesn't seem to understand the concept of cohesion or a team that makes the mission smooth as butter
gotta weave in those blocks/push attacks, throw in some ranged too
I dodge, but I personally don't block. Idk why, I just never block in most games. I'm way too aggressive. I think the only time I ever block is against the daemonhost.
I just rolled this shovel
i got a crew of 4 vets one day, we were on eachother like white on rice in damnation, it went so smooth and there was ammo raining from the sky
or against maulers n shit
It's always nice when a full vet team just demolishes the mission, especially if it's damnation hi-intensity
why would it be bad or hard?
just did 4 zealot damnation pub, half under 30, was pleasant and very problem-free experience
I said heard.
Never said it was.
Most pub lobbies can be really hit or miss from what I was told.
I also experience this frequently on Heresy or Malice.
I had a moment on Malice where I had to carry two level 10's and a level 15.
Like, WHY ARE YOU EVEN HERE
we had 2 iag/braced users, 2 plasmas, 2 people running frags and 2 with kraks, entire maps melted and we moved through it so damn fast
This is not the right level to be doing MALICE on.
im outtie, may hadron bless yall tonight
My experience is that both here and in VT2 higher difficulties are sometimes even easier
what should I reroll on that shovel?
unless you're already good lol.
because people playing them are better
Ooooh boy... do we have different experiences.
I did ONE damnation and quit halfway through after seeing how bad my team was.
Astra Militarum gets the job done
I do play mostly late late night; maybe this positiviely affects quality of players
one dude ran off from the group, the other was constantly lagging behind like 50 feet from us and kept dying before dropping down to the next zone (he wasn't being a loot goblin, he was just outright sitting there.) and the last guy was the only guy who was doing good and staying with me. And, go figure, he was a shield Ogryn. He got overrun later though and the other two were the only ones left with me. I couldn't save the Ogryn cause of how many specials there were... and yeah I quit out.
That match was just really annoying.
and the fact half the team had the attention span of a goldfish
yeah I don't think we were clutching that
especially not with the only other competent person in the group being dead.
The average attention span for the notoriously ill-focused goldfish is nine seconds, but according to a new study from Microsoft Corp., people now generally lose concentration after eight seconds, highlighting the affects of an increasingly digitalized lifestyle on the brain.
sounds better than the tiktok crowd
I'll give them that.
They paid more attention than the Tiktok crowd.
by 1 second.
anyway, what perks for this shovel
I got decimater 3 and thrust 4 on it, mk3 sapper shovel
If only there was a way to launch yourself 30 feet into the air and scream 'SCREAMING EAGLES!' as you elegantly descend and smash an enemy's head in, dealing a guaranteed critical hit.
lol
The joke was there, I made it.
How so? Lol
Oh also I just got Vermintide 2. I gotta find a group to play with at some point.
Because the fold up thrust strike down is hilariously good
wassat
lol
(POV: You haven't booted up Vermintide 2 yet)
this shovel's special attack is that it folds up into a pick
also the bonk noises are incredibly satisfying
I'm not a fan of it either in its current implementation.
That’s just peak skill issue lmao
It was truly something to behold.
I kited Rinda around the entire ring for a whole lap while the other three were bogged down by crushers and ragers seemingly unable to kill any of them.
Then that vet died and they all collapsed.
MG12 is just incredibly unfun to play this patch idk
Fighting Rinda is fun, ngl. You get to see who's even more cracked between her and you.
It's still fine to me. It's just middling.
But for the Twins fight in particular, using it is asking for pain upon you.
Wish it had helbore’s 1 target penetration
It does not perform well there.
MG Ia just overshadowed the MG 12 rather than being weakened, yeah
It’s not just that
Nah, not overshadowed. Just easier to use.
MG12 is like the only gun in the game that forces u into 2 super specific builds
The XII's TTK is still the fastest.
MG12 can't deal with maulers and crushers
But the XII's base characteristics aren't strong.
And in today's current balance paradigm of high density, high quantity enemy spawns
It won't cut it.
But if you go left side your melee isn't as good to compensate
U can actually scrape by with left tree
The issue is more the gun itself
Yea powersword6 is just that strong
It's been left behind by all the buffs other weapon archetypes have received.
I have both a MG 12 and Ia and it doesn't feel like the TTK is that substantially better on the former.
I can't even say that definitively because my Ia's got better Perks than the 12, so it might be just that.
New shovel too actually but not so much
As long as u have 2 points to dip into the 10% melee on the top right
And as a result, the disparity in the base profiles of all vet weapons is apparent.
Having tested them, the difference isn't major at all. But it does exist.
The XII will always have a faster TTK if you're landing headshots.
12 has a better ttk if you just 1 tap pop everything in the head
I find it really hard to like helbores too, even with the busted melee lmao
But 12 is miserable because only 2 builds can reach those 1 taps
If you're going for bodyshots though, the la and IV serve better.
That would explain it then, because as much as I would like, I can't always be landing headshots. So I make it up with accuracy by volume and body shots.
You’re forced to run either exe stance or marksman keystone
Both are team dependent
Or both if you're a lunatic like me
I wouldn't mind it so much if the marksman keystone wasn't such a worthless footnote for slow firing, hard hitting guns.
That keystone honestly just needs a complete rework imo
It’s so counterintuitive how it works exponentially better with rapid fire non-precision weapons than with actual precision weapons
I run the MG Ia with my Marksman Keystone, works well enough.
But I do cheat by just taking Rending Strikes instead of taking the MF Subnode for Rending at 10+ Stacks, since I'm already taking Iron Will as is.
Precisely.
Crazy right
Is it possible to rename my character
No
F
My soldier’s name isnt as unique as I originally thought it was
Poopenfarten69
:c
MG4 and MG1A are so fun rn but MG12 just feels very unfun
It doesn't even stagger flamers right?
MG12?
I mean, you’re aiming to 1 shot flamers in the head
MG12 is imo worthless without headshots
Sometimes you don't get the headshot but it still doesn't stagger
Which is another big thing
Feels bad
Yea lasguns just have low stagger
Yeah cause all the stagger is directed backwards.
Such is the will of the Omnissiah.
what even changed about the MG12
Nothing has changed, really.
i used to love it but something changed and now I can’t stand it
