#veteran-class

Shout is great
Oh mb typo
Was thinking bomber
oh yeah speaking of that
what's the different type of like
damage increase for anyway
and how do you tell
need to go find em in training sim eh
what about the ones on the
big dude
ones that when i hit em my melee keep getting like
bounced off
What are veterans best guns at the moment? Assume auric damnation for breakpoints
Flak is the most common armor type
Basically u see any enemy wearing black or silver looking armor, that’s flak
Maniac includes both flamers, trapper, mutant and Dreg rager (most guns have +% dmg to maniac compared to base)
Unarmored is just unarmored
Carapace only include crushers (full body) and maulers (head)
Unyielding is generally boss damage, but also includes bulwarks & reapers
Infested include poxwalkers (horned zombies that come in waves) and pox hounds
I made a Columnus infantry auto after some discussion I read here, was really satisfied
It’s so good
Those are crushers, carapace armor, can only pen that with melee heavy attacks or specials depending on the weapon
consensus is plasma and revolver
i see
The accuracy on the Colombo IAG isn’t great but man that stream of bullets is 🥵
Is revolvers actually good now?
but my chainsword revving attack can work just fine
plasma, revolver top, autoguns are good, hellbore is good, basically anything other than recon las
- The best gun is subjective and depends on a persons playstyle and particular build
- MG IV Lasgun
- uj/ probably plasma
Yes
Always has been
Extremely
the most busted weapon rn
i love mine
^
it's a handcannon
Plasma. Revolver. Columnus IAG. Helbore. There’s quite a few
There’s only a couple of “don’t use” guns with recon lasgun at that level
Which blessings for revolver? Assuming perks are flak maniac for general purpose?
Hand cannon surgical
handcannon surgical
Which helbore are people using. I’ve got a couple 3s
just two shoted a crusher with this menace
im using a 1
And yeah, flakiac
helbore mk1
The sights on the 3 are my favourite
3s
I don't do revolvers and don't have a good one yet, wouldnt you get more out of carapace than flak?
is shotgun good?
it penetrates carapace
Carapace is pretty rare damage type
havent used one yet
so doesnt matter that much
With a very specific build, yes
Shotguns are solid, but they aren’t crazy
Maniac is best imo. Comes up most often on key targets
Carapace is basically just for crushers
gotta note these vital infos down
Which melee are people pairing with revolver? Assuming there’s some fun stuff in right side tree for weapon swap build
anything that suits you really
I’m forgetting a A but u get it lol
I thought revolver damage was already plenty high enough on flak and it needs a boost for the OHK on crushers and maulers
if you:re talking about vet that is
You usually (not always) want maniac on your guns because it allows u to deal with most priority targets very quickly at range
Anything with good horde clear, like shovel. You can also trade some dps for mobility and take dagger
I want to like the psword, but as a zealot main the lack of Dodge distance on the thing gets me killed because I’m spoiled
Horse clear is back
What did those horses do to you
like, why do you have blessings like this one? why use at gun at close range lol
A good rashad axe is godly
mans got a thing with horses
like a fetish thing?
Combat axes are all good
I like to clear them apparently
i dunno i cant vibe with it
i need my melee weap to clear hordes
Brutal momentum and headtaker still the way to go on Rashad?
and axe just doesnt
You have to have brutal momentum
it does with brutal momentum but you might want attack speed
seems like a single target wep to me
Get you a devils claw, horde clear and single target with the parry, love that thing
depends on which axe
I think going right side tree with Rashad sounds sexy. 10% atk speed
what with the downward vertical strike
Unarmored perk (must have)
Flak perk (good for saving talent points to reach dreg bruiser 1 tap)
Brutal momentum (must have)
Headtaker/decimator
My favorite melees atm are shovel, ps6, and knife
what's considered elites?
Combat axes are light attack spam weapons
im doing this build with rashad 2 combat axe and its pretty bonkers
Unarmoured a must have?
Gunners, ragers, etc
havent tested on auric t5 tho
Hits scab bruiser 1 tap head
Rager, Gunners, Maulers, Crushers, & Reapers
That’s sick.
Usually elites don't have a unique spawning voiceline
17% toughness
im just running +exp for now cause still leveling
but i assume that wont be the case at lvl30
Stam toughness toughness
Gunner resistance is big money
Both ragers
Mauler
Both shotgunners
Both gunners
Bulwark
Reaper
Crusher
so gunner resist, toughness and stam?
x3 gunner resistance
I like stamina health toughness, with sniper, gunner, and toughness on all
HOLY GOD ROLL
Gunner resist also includes shotgunners but not normal shooters
brunt trolling me today
Mmh knife
Rending backstab is funny
2 handed knife
is wound a good relic perk
A lot of people like to run+1 wound
Defensive which is nice
and what's specialist?
+1 wound is fine
Using 3 wounds is less fine (unless you’re martyrdom zealot)
are they different from elite
Ye
They have an introduction voiceline on spawn
Wound can help. I run 1x wound on vet because I find myself getting fucked occasionally when I forget I’m not on zealot
Trapper
Both flamers
Sniper
Bomber
Mutant
Pox hound
Pox burster
nah they ruin my auric runs they ain't free from invalidity
so elite > specialist?
usually ye
or am i misunderstanding this
Specialists are quite squishy
Depends on what you need
More toughness doesn’t really help if you’re only dying to flamers and grenades
muties being only exception
In most cases, yes
On some weapons, not necessarily
Muties are also quite squishy if you have a chain weapon
Most weapons don’t want elite or special damage though
Muties just have weakness vs melee overall tbh
this game confuses me lol
You get used to it
Elite is less relevant on slower firing weapons that care more about killing in as few shots as possible
Is chain sword still good? Or did it get nerfed since patch 13?
Is ok
Sure but a chainsword will one shot a mutie while a crusher will need quite a bit more effort
still great
It’s fine but I find it lacking against mixed hordes
what about this infested?
It’s fine, not a huge chainsword fan myself
infested is Dog and Pox Walkers
ok thx
Infested usually isn’t what you’re looking for
Really not big tbh
I feel like I just want psword but with higher mobility t.t
they dont concern me that much yea
Yea that’s a Rashad axe
unless you got pouched on by one
You need like fifty something mobility on power sword
when you're alone
infested is the only perk I think it's underwhelming since there's no Infested enemies to take priority
XDD
Just get max dodges and you’re fine
I play too much zealot and psyker for the puny psword Dodge
or, alternatively, throw the wish.com lightsaber in the muthafuckin trash and grab yourself a SHOVEL
Learning to push dogs mid air is a game changer if you get cornered
Also friendly reminder that Boltgun has abysmal damage modifier vs infested by 60% dmg modifier

Shovel is great, but pair it with something like revolver or plasma
if the psword has a negative weakpoint modifier, why does the attack breakdown show that it does more dmg to weakpoints? shouldn't it do less?
It doesn’t have a negative modifier?
All the stat modifiers are “+%”
Lore accurate😔
If only they could explode inside a target or something

Yep
maybe negative was the wrong word, it says something like "x0.83%" so if the base dmg is say 100, wouldn't it do 83 to weakpoint?
Still a decent sized hole for though
not like they poxxies need that part anyways
Idk I want to like bolting

But it ain’t there
intermission
Nope not clicking it
it hasn't gotten nerfed, it just also hasn't gotten buffed so it falls behind in some areas relative to other weapons. It's still a fairly flexible weapon, and a good CS is a decent if not spectacular melee choice
Chainsword is fun,
not fun if you get surrounded by ragers
Vet death condition, playing the game

Idk it just never felt great to me, always enjoyed other weapons more
Fair
vet meta is taking sprint aura and sprint node and outpacing their teammates away from danger
spoilers: ||it's actually wholesome||
I have enjoyed Knifing the bosses
The big change for me is being willing to use power sword now that it’s not actually game breaking
Knife is fun as hell
Yeee
Been running a knife and shank ragers with infiltrate for backstab like TF2 Spy
Revolver + Knife
TF2 gaming
I mean, the cleave on PS now is still virtually infinite so practically speaking doesn't matter a whole lot lol. But I wouldn't say it's overpowered at this point, aside from maybe the mk6 overhead
Did you know you can dodge fully around crushers by curving a knife dodge
The dodge is that long
Knife dodge speed + distance is just nutty
Dance around enemies and backstab em
like Swipez
Then again, to make a PS really work you want BM 4, PC 4, good rolls and weakspot damage node
I don’t even run Invis on my backstab knife
So it's probably fine honestly
y'all making me wanna burn all my plasteel again for knives\
I just do it for tf2 gaming

Ye
You don't have the reserve supply of 2k plasteel?
Rip
Never
I pray for bountiful loot for thee
It’s not virtually infinite
Your cleave gets stopped by 3 dreg ragers or 2 scab ragers
What was loose cannon's snarky comment when someone call-out a elite/special kill?
'keep those update coming, i'm sure they'll be useful one day' or something like that?
Even pre-nerf you'd (or I'd, at least) traditionally back up enough to only be actively engaged with maybe 2-4 at a time wherever possible to make timing strikes and blocks easier. I have never noticed an actual gameplay difference anecdotally
"Stop Showing Off"
nah, nah, that's the headshot one
Don't hear that
fkn love the loose cannon, wish I could change my voice
I mean the one that trigger after someone kill a elite and call out their kills
i love the loose cannon female one
so toxic
i love it
man I miss morning and day drinking
I used to be canadian, I miss my wake and bake
I still remember how the pilot got loose cannon broke from gambiling
Blud doing blackmarketing
oh yeah, i remember hearing that quote
The cleave nerf now makes a case for sunder to be used although BM is still better imo
Masozi is a con artist lol
sunder does improve stagger as well
Yea I vastly prefer BM, it just synergizes well with vet talents
reliably stagger ragers with sunder in intense moments so fair enough
I think she has scammed both LC vets in gambling and has gifted both fanatic zealots fake relics
Damn
See anything worth stealing round here?
LC male is hilarious and I'm glad I picked it
at least I get to make fun of the Cadian chuds right in their face
didn't she knock out an ogryn and gained his respect from it instead of getting disassembled like a lego
Cutthroat vet’s comments when the female fanatic zealot talks abt Masozi’s gift:
“Are you actually an idiot?”
Something Something.... SHOOT IT
I really gotta level my heretical psyker so I can delete the snorefest cop I made and work on a LC vet
I legit have no idea why that personality is an option they are a hard conditioned by-the-book cop
we’re criminals
They’re the nicest Psyker personality though
Even the professional vet has lines about getting kicked out of the guard and being salty about it
They concur with the ways of cryonic rod
What the advantage of Recon Lasgun? I feel like basically everything are lower than Autogun and it very ammos hungry too.
You hit the nail on the head
Professional vet is on the way to become officer but the bureaucrats just fucked him
Good question
Maybe fatshark will provide an advantage in patch 15
you should ask this question to fatshark themselves
Durr, funny continual las gun fire

To be fair, becoming an inquisitorial acolyte is probably a higher status position lol
infernus proccing = neuron activation
They even nerfed the interaction with shock troopers
I came here for the answer, I got concerned instead.
well it wasn't part of the plan

I’m sorry it has to be like this
Yea there’s no reason to use recon lasguns unless u just want to try it for fun
Ye recon got the short end of the stick
is knife a reliable horde dealer weapon?
wat
what in the fresh kentucky fried fuck
Its main pro is mobility
i saw chocob melting hordes in auric with knife psyker and i was like ayo wtf
it keeps you safe from trash because it hits them, but they won't die in a timely manner
Is it alright for me to say I got blueballed by the latest hotfix?

ye you make the enemies follow you to control the flow of trash mobs
by outrunning them
Question, which is better to pair with a plasma gun, chainsword or MK6 power sword
whylol
whichever you prefer tbh
but if you're not keeping power sword activated at all times, then chainsword
chocoB builds are questionable sometimes tbh
dude is good but I swear he just bought a random clicker to do his builds for him
legit
both are good, but a pure meta-built powersword goes with anything
What were you expecting to come with the patch?
Man do be goated in gaming
i should know better by now that taking notes from chocob is by all means wrong
oh yeah, the fact that he does so well with crackhead builds is a testament to his skills
yeah it used to be like that too back in vermintide
mf doing ranger vet bardin with axe and shield
in true solo like wth
built different
chocoB rolls up with a speedreload autogun no CD reset VoC support vet be like yeah this game is so easy 💀
i asked him in his twitch stream why he was running knife on a psyker and he basically replied in japanese something like "figure it out yourself, if you dont come up with any answers then you ask me again"
although has anyone seen his Bolter video and look at the Marksman Focus stacks?
honestly, is that keystone even worth it?
it's like sub 7 most of the game... Truly one of the keystones of all time
i feel like its impossible to stay still in auric
Didn't he actually use crouch walk in that one?
he did
i stay still by being hogtied
no that's the point, dude was doing so well and still it's not at max stack
based and traxis 77 pilled
ye stacks do be like that,
esp since moving is life
standing still is death
imo
not for the full stacks, but maybe even 1 or 2 stacks could be a good trade? idk
from my point of view on marksman's focus you don't want to use it on a hard-hitter gun like bolter
since it's already gonna drop most things in 1-2 shots
but one of the playtesters said that they wanted Boltgun to be a DMR
especially for Marksman Focus
boltgun dmr????
whats dmr
now obviously that's not shaping out
Designated Marksmen Rifle
oof
the stacking bonuses seem more impactful on a lasgun or non-braced autogun
it's a lot more like a mid-close range skirmish rifle
Just a role to shoot things far but not far like sniping
DMR needs higher mag than 15 rounds
precision DMR headshotty guns are your best bet with marksman's focus really. mk7 headhunter, infantry lasguns, the quicker firing helbores... guns where you slow down a little bit to get the weakpoint hits and try to maximise your accuracy.
plus the fact that you can unload your magazine to melt a crusher already states otherwise
Helbore and headhunter autoguns are both better DMRs than bolter lol
Halo would beg to differ
if only that was the case
Fixes while welcomed are just fixes that dont affect the talent trees or cosmetics etc
who tf is using boltgun as a dmr
Helbore mk3 feels like it's nearing the sniper range

the boltgun... "can" do ranged shooting but it's not exactly... precise...
Helbore 3 basically is a sniper
Without a scope
that was the intention of FS said to me by a playtester
go figure
which is why they buffed the recoil significiantly path 14
It's very nice, since it's crit/weakpoint modifier is high, and you get surgical for blessing
and more finesse damage
shitty iron sights
huge sway
intended to be DMR
what were they cooking?
Btw, does weapon specialist work with bayonet on helbore?
Aim with faith of empra
clearly they were already cooked by that point
you actually have 0 recoil if you go left tree with deadshot
huge sway is NO LONGER an issue
if i want a DMR i'll just use the vraks 7
Agile Engagement works on Helbore

perchance stalker bolter with no full auto
Still weird after each Bolter shot the gun has a delay before it aims properly again
oh, really? ill have to try it at some point i suppose
it's just people don't bother to test the Boltgun dmr so the myth remains
you need deadshot
I hate how the gun jolts back into aiming position
oh god im terrible at using deadshot lmao
i always get caught out of position w/ no stamina and die
the animation will sway but you can't fire during that time anyway
once the animation stops it's basically 0 recoil
i dont even use deadshot on my vraks 7 crit build even though i really should
Why are we only limited to 5 builds?
the technology isn't there yet
just waste all your perks in right tree so you can get that keystone node that recovers stam whenever you kill a enemy in ranged and swap to melee weapon
lmao
okay I want that Remnant Challenger armor in Darktide
like that definitely fits in Darktide aesthetic
there is another path
a way to get more slots
Have to try that out, I often have to give a few quick pokes at stuff between shots in qp
not something vanilla players will teach you
why would you want more than 5 loadouts on vet anyway? lol
it depends on how tryhard you are
let's say you have 3 loadouts, if im really try harding, I would have 2 variations of each
one for surivalist if teamdoesn't have any
ohh
one for fire team/movement if there's another vet
fair
uj/ I want that too
i love the "parry this you filthy casual" energy
SCAB GUNNA
just deck me out in medieval armor and give me a big gun
Godspeed, you madman 🫡
godroll chasers be like
i take like 10 minutes to craft a gun
Change perks to flak damage
nope, scrap for blessing
Bad bad bad stopping power
And elites on kill
Nope don’t listen
I’d just recover the HH blessing
by the throne not with that stopping power
that value actually will increase shots to kill on tougher enemies
They can’t listen to us, all they can do is read
look at those flak damage/maniac modifier and tell me it's okay to have 25% stopping power

I have a right side skill tree question : for the perk Onslaught, do shotgun pellets count as "Continuous hits" or not ?
Are these values w/ 25% SP in mind?
nope, only counts as 1 hit
it's 0 to 80
Mhm, I see
still, stopping power is too important even if the scaling isn't linear (which I think it is? 🤔)
that 25% sp lasgun, according to the calculator, needs 5 headshots to kill a scab gunner
even with tier 4 flak
I picked that voice for my male psyker, I like it
He's a cool dude
not accounting for talent trees effects, of course
If the other 2 weren't literal psychopaths I might have picked another
implying that there are non-psychopaths in this game universe
forget flashlight, this shit is a super soaker
i picked it for my female psyker because i like the accent lol
i accidentally deleted my prized 7% damage MG1a and I've regretted it ever since
now i have the weapon favoriting mod so that will never happen again
there are so many QoL features that would make game better
like buy until rarity, mass sell
weapon favoriting
I spent thousands of dollars and uprooted my entire life to run away from that accent irl
better inventory menu
/uj the voice ain't for me but I'm loving people being happy
any one here playing Remnant 2?
literal flashlight
Moral of the story even if you have 80 charge rate on plasma, 5 damage isn't a make or break lmao
74% loses you 30 damage or about a 5% damage node which is relevant

how people managed these plasteel/dia ratio?
keep spending plasteel trying to craft shit, ran out of plasteel, repeat
but I also craft and my ratio seems okay?
pretty bad, the no stopping power is not good whatsoever
Surgical and opening shot on a Vraks is a lot funnier than I expected.
Are you crafting everything up to orange?
Was getting one hit kills on Damnation for chest shots on Maulers.
crafting costs a lot now which sucks
ah most of the time i dont need the t3/t4 blessing
Headshots on a Plague Orgyn were chunking 2000 plus if I too time to 'charge up' like a Helbore
People tend to stop at Blue because while the chance for a T4 blessing is a little lower, the cost is significantly less. I don't have any math or code to back that up though
but then i upgrade to purple and 3/4 slots are bricked
it was misinformation, allegedly
Seems about right lmao
And because if you get to blue and both Perk and Blessing are bad, there is a very high chance for the item to be bricked if you upgrade further
some dude made up some bogus code and people ate it up
they deleted the post and now everyone is saying to craft to blue but never post any sources
¯_(ツ)_/¯
i take it to purple, but usually 3/4 slots are bricked so...
It bears repeating that I hate this crafting system so goddammn much
you usually just need like 1.5 slots being good no?
like 1 slot being BiS and the 0.5 being close enough?
then replace 2 and you have 3.5 slots being good which is great?
Depends on weapon type, the random base stats on it, and the breakpoints. And if I'm going to grind for something why the hell can't I just have the thing
I mean yeah, though for base stats it's Brunt gamble so Ordo is what's expensive
I spend like 1M Ordos for maybe 3-4 good tries
but usually 3-4 good tries are enough for a decent Hadron chance
The very fact that items can be bricked (or whatever you want to call it, locked in to things you don't want) is a significant diminishment from Vermintide 2's system, for all its flaws
good or bait?
bait
sadness
Who the fuck decided items having variable base stats was a good idea
looks so good tho
stopping power isn't a dump stat 😦
Crazy that they managed to downgrade their crafting from Vermintide
oof
Same, the accent is dope.
And it happens every game: They make a grindy, heavily RNG-addled gear system that is met with overwhelming negative feedback. They walk it back partially in the months or years after launch, and then release the next game with a grindy and heavily RNG-addled gear system.
The problem with excess Diamantine is almost identical to excess Orange from VT2 but they just don't learn
you've gotta wonder if its entirely seperate teams disconnected from each other that're doing it
man imagine if we eventually get lucifer black cosmetics
Oh they did learn
100,000 aquillas
It’s a player retention thing
seems about right
You want you crafting to be just barely bearable
The devs and artists do an amazing job, which is why these games succeed. Management pushes the bullshit because psychologists told them it's how you maximize whatever bullshit performance metrics, and MBAs aren't taught Goodhart's Law: Any metric that becomes a goal is no longer a valid metric.
what should i change on this?
And Infested to Maniac or Flak
or should i take fire frenz and stick on this gun
ehh, keep that one as is imo
the 21st century called they want their squad automatic weapon back
seems to cater to a different playstyle
yea i was thinking that
21st century squad automatics had 100+ rounds on tap. Also took an hour to reload though
its not one i would play but its definitely good for its role
Still wish the game had a proper LMG analogue for Vet
Rashad with BM still viable or nah?
Still meta, if boring as hell IMHO
its boring but the thunk of carving through six heads at once goes so hard
wdym had
Spam light for trash, spam heavy for elite, it's the most efficient possible moveset but also the most simplistic
which year are you posting from
the 41st millenium?
Simple is best.
time traveller proof
shame i dont think brauto can have dumdum
also, i dont like the song and dance i have to go through to make the mk6 psword work
would much rather use the axe or chainsword
or dclaw
deathspitter then
i have a FF/deathspitter agri brauto and its hilarious
I used to build characters (in games in general) to be as simple as possible while still being effective, the thinking being that complexity would make it harder to play and thus I would shit the bed when things got difficult or I got distracted. Which may be true but I just found it boring
nice. now not sure whether maniac or flak would do better
Me too, but haven’t played much since BM change. Didn’t feel that great to me and went back to PS. I’m gonna try Rashad again later today.
Yeah to each their own. I like playing "simpler" characters/builds and master the game through general gameplay I guess.
can always swap it freely
i would go maniac
agri brauto doesnt have issues chewing through enemies with flak armor, but muties will always be a problem
I like making vanilla stuff shine. But I understand why others love flashier stuff.
you have to make sure to aim for the head, its not as braindead good as it used to be
ahh thanks
also im assuming you know this already so this is more of a general tip, but ADS with the brauto sucks
hipfire forever
anyone got a decent plasmagun build
I think it's one of those guns you can literally do whatever you want
real
yeah you can literally throw it on whatever you want
If you crouch, stay still, and shoot in 2 or 3 round quick bursts it's pretty good.
i have it on a grenadier build with every single grenade talet + shredder frags
if i wanted to burst fire id use an IAG or HH

Fair, but it works in a pinch on brauto
i was thinking of going right tree with a psword since the guaranteed crit and enhanced melee is pretty nice
gets hot blaze away seem to be most popular
ah ok
Powersword is for everything
i have a nice power cycler +2 so i was gonna use psword
right
chainsword works nice too im sure
mk3
thanks
Horde? Yes
Specialists? Yes
Elites? Yes (Crushers can be 2 shotted btw)
Monstros? A bit shakier but yes.
Mk6 is more generalist
chainsword with bleed is pretty good aswell i think
What about the Mk6?
Take the Mk6 if you can
for horde i think itd mk3
Vraks 7?
heavy laspistol maybe?
i dont think i've used that one but the burst autoguns i have used before are all like
busted
maybe i need em with higher stability or something
melk almost had something useful
plasmagun kekw
rngesus does not favour you
It's a single shot rifle with really high Finesse damage
Otherwise Helbore is good
a semi auto?
Or the Mg Series
huh
The kantrael infantry line is great for kt.it
well i suppose as long as it's not burst fire
Just about anything you can shoot that has a moderate rate of fire and better precision potential works very well with marksman focus.
Why is everyone dunking on burst-fire? In other shooters I really enjoy 3-round-burst guns
I find it kinda funny when I'm able to keep up in ranged kills with an assail spam psyker. With a Vraks mk7.
Although, any added utility that you'd want for defense will change dramatically depending on how much you invest in your ranged damage output.
Wouldn't know. I don't use them mostly because I'm addicted to how the infantry lasgun family feels to play with. I also just tend to enjoy semi-auto carbines and combat rifles so /shrug.
The burst guns veterans have aren't something to scoff at though. They feel more ammo efficient even if they don't always have the same or better reserves or magazine capacity.
So it's a percentage? I see
Some of the super calculative autogun users prefer the burst fire headhunters due to how it interacts with a few blessings and talents
Me? I like Scout Rifles.
its not a flat % the amount of damage you lose is equilvalant to a 5% damage now
Solid high impact head clicking adventure gives me neuron activation
the mk3 hh is fine, i use it on my zealot a lot. i think the vet gets more out of the 7 with the right build though
Definitely prefer the full auto weapons on right tree
Gotcha 👍
I want to be mobile with weapons like those. Feels better than having to fight for a position where om higher difficulties, there's more dudes with guns that shoot fast compared to one veteran. That's just my common experience though in pubs.
For me it’s cause the recoil is dog water in this game for most of the guns imo and the 3 round burst weapons don’t feel good to use for me personally
Very much so, but that's what you get for fatshark making the left tree all about glorious headclicking.
it’s the way it needs to be tbh
Although with the same build you can do some funny one clicks on trash mobs in the chest.
a mid mk3 hh is way better than a mid mk7 but the mk7 has greater heights
Also personally? It hurts to use so much ammo and stamina for a single 'shot' on the burst rifles
Deadshot is just a must if you run a crit build, which helps headhunters incredibly much
i’ve never had ammo problems with the mk3 on any class ime
but i wouldn’t bother running dead shot on the mk3 anyway
Compared to other games the bursts are very slow (especially the Agripinaa Mk9, with its very widely spaced two shots)
I...cannot stand crit builds in this game. Mostly just because of how long it feels to actually set one up to be effective. Shit is annoying for me. And I hate the talent that burns stamina for crit chance. It's not even particularly bad, I'm just not going to be relying on it when on average I'm with people that aren't going to be reliable to coordinate with if I ever get singled out or something.
yeah deadshot is almost uniformly a non starter for me. i don’t want to trade stam for crits
I don't think I've ever read anyone recommend Deadshot, it seems it was just never worth it
it used to be more necessary pre surgical update
It's easier to manage when you start messing more with stamina regeneration for it to be super stable but eh, all that for a yellow number when I'm effective without it? I'm fine.
Does feel good for the crits to be coming out though when it happens.
And of course it doesn't work well on high ROF weapons, and doesn't work at all on the Plasma Gun (despite its tooltip implying it does)
I think crit overkills a lot and you pay for that extra overkill damage by flexibility and durability
Bruiser-ish builds are great
it depends on if you have a weapon that doesn't already have surgical on it
You kill everything and most things can't kill you
The damage is nice but people are just as much after the on-crit effects e.g. Hand Cannon on revolver
like a shotgun with fullbore can benifit a lot from deadshot
Yeah that's the operating logic and get that. Very sound for shutting down a lot of shit without needing to worry about if something is going to actually kill often tougher targets without using more limited resources (like a krak grenade or something)
I mean, with deadshot I reliably get crits so often I dont think I've ever been not the top of the scoreboard for crits done. And with it, you can do some really amusing stuff like getting a headshot crit on maulers and crushers more often than not for just aiming for a second or so each time
Can be funny when you shoot a single boolet and you hear that crump. Crusher just goes plop.
lmao the hotfix didnt touch Bayonet bug?
glorious on purpose bayonet mechanics
blessed be
Oh yeah that shit isn't a joke. Ironically a crit gun build for me would probably solve problems I often have with some ragers breaking through and blitzing straight to me anyway and stuff starts to fall apart.
That's where crit builds are particularly good for me specifically.
I'm not about to do all the labor of setting it up though on average unless I'm lucky as hell.
the other day i was doing the limbsplitter bayonet thing and the dead psyker was like “holy shit bayonet rocks” after they spectated me for a bit
my wave clear is attached to the end of my rifle’s barrel
I even bragged about the build but since my region is Asia all that came back to me was silence
Oh? Fellow Asia region player .w.
until you show the team how to ohk a mutant with your gun’s knife
is the bayonet the pygmy in this scenario
Yes.
is mankind the descendent of bayonet
Perhaps.
some things here worth ruminating on further
I'm just a veteran. All that cosmic magic crap is for the higher ups. I just don't want to die in some nurgle sludge pit or something. Idk 40k
so ironically the axe will get the axe next patch
bc limbsplitter blessing
Which axe?
thanks gang i’ll be here all morning
(Head Canon that my veteran got clapped with sedition for shaving supplies to gangers connected with smuggler circles that mostly just tried to get people out of collapsing hive sectors. She just wanted the newer line of hive guides to have marginally better chances)
the limbsplitter blessing is what is making the bayonet so overbusted rn
Oh huh
applies the extra power on literally every stab
Like overcalculates it?
i mean as i understand it it’s adding 60% power to the stabs
So it's a bug?
will still be good, it surprisingly ohks a lot of specialists on stab without the bug
At this point it's a feature
for the people who play enough to define what is meta, they’re all bored and trying the weird busted shit, that’s my perspective
weird probably unintended interactions end up defining metas in games like league too
we’re all just monkeys trying to break our favorite games
yeah, I saw a video/podcast somewhere of people trying to "classify" different types of players
(with varying success of course)
but it boils down to something like
you play games for new experiences, wacky stuff
you play games for self expressions
you play games for mastery
I play games to fill the void in my life and escape the thoughts of the unstoppable entropy of existence and how it will one day consume me rendering all my accomplishments to dust in the endless march of uncaring time.
sir, this is Wendy's
i play games because it makes the monkey in my brain’s cymbals clap
Triple baconator combo, water for the drink, watching my waistline.
I play games because it's fun to complete a difficult task that most people struggle.
I love clutching in QP lol.
half the times I die to trappers though
I play games to feel powerful and save the world unlike my wage-slavery cubicle existence on this rapidly-warming planet
reminded me of a time a while ago when i was playing an auric damnation with someone who clearly brought their less good friend and at a moment when i was clutching with the other last guy in my team he was explaining my choices and why they were good choices in voip to his friend
that felt pretty good
also one of the coolest neat thing I stumble upon in this game is the Mozambique technique with the Boltgun
you two shot body a rager (tap hipfire) to stagger and then one shot ADS headshot to kill
it's tacticool that way
u gotta open them up first
works with Bulwarks too, but you need 5ish shots I think
make sure the final present gets where it needs to go
one to open, two to body and two headshots?
is it one to open a bulwark shield? i always two burst them from the hip
Three bolts to kill one heretic? The Munitorum will have you flogged.
one Bolter round is enough to open
it’s ok he found the ammo on the ground
Thoughts on plasma for melee loadout? Charge shots seem to be good for staggering things for free hits, and tap fire seems okay for the occasional guardsman behind cover
technically 2 rounds because you get 1 back 😄
or she or they idk it’s a mudkip pfp
im a he 😄 but thanks for checking
Everyone is "them" or "dude" on the internet. Safest way.
no grill on the Internet
truly i’m am a them though
Alternatively, live in the 90s/00s
Men are boys, women are men, children are the FBI
i appreciate these guidelines for they benefit me specifically
I apply dude universally, also guy
i do the same with guy but it makes me feel weird sometimes when i notice i say it in a group of exclusively women
i got flack once for saying fellas to women because it’s a male term and i was like… isn’t it just short for fellows? is that gendered?
Everyone has a different opinion, it's a minefield
this feels like a tweet from 2019
That why when a woman attempts to speak to me I assume a threat posture and scream. Only way to be safe.
i go samus ball form and roll off
women are real because i remember the times i’ve embarrassed myself in front of them as i try to go to sleep
i cringe, therefore i am
truly so relatable 😔
Gotta laugh at those moments
when you cultivate them it’s called improv comedy
I was in a freshman in college, so a lil while ago.
Hit it off with a girl. We talked about random stuff and then international news came up.
She told me she's from Venezuela and that her country wasn't doing so well.
In my infinite wisdom, I said, "yeah I'm sorry. African countries usually struggle with civil wars right?"
She stopped dead in her track and said "you know Venezuela is in Latin America, right?" then walked the opposite way.
the thing is i passed AP History, ik where venezuela is
real.
shoulda been like latin is in rome idiot!!! as she walked away
doin some testing, and hitting a flak rager with the 10% rending on melee does less than without it on a ps enhanced light but more to a non flak rager?
On one hand, geography fail.
On the other, to be fair ut doesn't look too different to me and I've been to Africa.
when in doubt, double down????
My joke has a quota which is me and that was met.
I've seen a lot of things being fucky-wucky on damage calculations all over the place. If you can replicate it then report it to the forums.
Also, non flak are maniac armor, so that may change it
but they are both considered armored no? so the 10% rending should work corrently for both id think
on further retesting
are you hitting limbs by any chance?
i cannot read numbers.
I don't know if maniac is considered an armor or if mitigation is calculated differently
maniac is a type of armor
I can't read
its hit for 898 without it, i was reading it as 988
the damage table is available if you inspect the weapon
maybe different modifiers there?
Damage table is flat I believe, don't think it accounts for anything in your build.
what was the tiny update for
I could be wrong, haven't sat down to test all that much
i hate when they update the game and don't say anything
Probably just hotfixes
Tbf they did
where at
could also go to the FS forums
is there like a news
but that was on steam
They posted it on the forum and Reddit and link at #📢news-bulletin
oh okay gotcha ty
forgive me im getting older and this stuff is slowly starting to fall out of my grasp
hard to navigate steam sometimes
is there smth wrong with using the FS forums :(
look man
don't get me wrong
I adore this game
i play it daily
but the last thing I want to expose myself to is yet another branch of the wh40k community
Not with FS particularly but with game forums in general
this too
Fight me
They are all so toxic
Fight me
tbf ive never used a game forum untill darktide so i dont know muc abotu that
No, you can go to the forum for that
this man is writing PHYSICAL THREATS TO ME COPY PASTING IT INTO MY LAWSUIT
YOURE UNDER ARREST FOR THE DISCORD MESSAGE
90 million years in jail
I'll fight discord too
Almost every game is like this. Forums are filled with angry people, 70% of which have severe skill issues but think they know more than they do.
served in 8 real seconds via a brain wave emitter
You can tell this is true based on how polarizing the revolver is to people
mm i see
hey is using the healthbars mod to see the health of every elite/special enemy a cheat
either they think it sucks ass or it's OP
how do we feel about this
The twist at the end of the movie is that you are the architect.
Dun dun dunnnnnnnn.
eh, it's a hud mod. can't be something worth caring about.
i was using this as a test to see if i could get some rager 2 shots with Psword
There is no build better than one that suits your gameplay style
but morally speaking, isi ta cheat
At that point, someone gettin worked. that's some successful mk ultra type shit lol
:)
i like that answer
if it works in your moral calculus as one, yes. If you could care less, like me, it's nothing that has a place or bearing on myself.
i look at other builds for idea, but generally I run my own unique build thats based off my own experience and critical thinking
Health bar does make the game easier.
Anyone saying otherwise is coping
Having a health bar over an enemy is incredibly inconsequential.
No lol, you still have to hit them the same number of times to kill them
when i go down in a match I think HMMM where did I fuck up and how can i compensate for that
But if you use it idc tbh, not like suddenly you kill everything
and honestly im happy with it aside from the usual vet problem of just needing one more point for it to be what i want it to be
and i tweak my build accordingly
is my melee weapon not doing enough
is my gun too weak
I agree but I'm still gonna bully people for posting clips with 80 hp bars on their screen
this is the first time ive actually sat down and looked at numbers and tested it in the grinder
am i not supporting my teammates
go nuts
¯_(ツ)_/¯
It's good in like 5% of situations in helping to decide if you should run or fight
Especially in low mag
You can follow any "meta" build you want but everyone and i mean EVERYONE plays differently. Make different decisions, has different target priority
Helps you form decision-making you'd do in the long term either way so it's just assisted improvement at that point to me.
following someone elses build kind of cripples you in a way
Hell, wallhacks are a common staple in a lot of games rn. That shit been quintessential cheater boy activity.
which is why im somewhat happy with it
sure there's some mathematic and intrinsic law
Not the same kind of conversation but you can kind of see where I'm going with it (I think?).
like wtf are you doing not taking scavenger
Yeah I'm not saying it's overtly powerful, I'm just saying technically it does make the game easier by a tiny bit
The same way I am using a rehud mod that moves my buffs to the middle
the other 2 perks at that level are nothing compared to scavenger
whatever else I'm doing that doesn't require it. Still turning out some of the same results of efficacy.
especially if you're using a low ammo weapon
So I don't have to strain my eyes accounting for buffs
i like it because im not sucking down ammo that could go to my teamates
i can support my own ammo supply
Melee vets don't need ammo
Hybrid vets don't need Survivalist if the team can share (big if though)
should you stack more toughness or health on curios as a vet?
okay lemme know how that sniper fight goes
you're being silly if you never pull out your gun
It's a strong aura because, yes, it is fluidly a good thing in a game like this in the same way certain weapon perks and talents did the same in vt2. You're not going to get away from that fact. There are definitely, though, plenty of builds that forgo this, still are effective, and aren't really going to be doing anything to mess with team ammo economies.
Well at least that means they won't need to nerf it
You aren't spending your entire ammo reserve killing snipers I hope 💀
Also frag nade kills sniper
Honestly, they should just remove Scavanger at that point
i sit in a corner with my eyes closed hipfireing at them with a CIAG why do you ask
So i don't tilt at every single Veteran that isn't running it
yea honestly, its painful not taking survivalist bc its just sooo good, but ive had so many builds i want to do that if i take survivalist i just cant get what i want bc it takes too much to get to what i want that way
krak nade the sniper
It's one of those things that I keep saying but again, the default veteran setup before leveling is due to the class being a cornerstone of the games' design space. You're not going to ever have a case where scavenger is bad because it's tethered to an aspect of the game that's core to a positive thing to have. In order for it to be nerfed sufficiently enough, it'd have to be outright destroyed with its output OR the game would need to restructured in a way where the position of that aura is heavily challenged that it's not worth even struggling with.
i like that the justification is killing the sniper enemies in the most round about ways lol
just say you use your gun bro its ok
I will take 10% Fire Team or Close and Kill
I honestly don't believe they can even nerf Survivalist, unless they make it so bad to the point where they should just remove it
Over Survivalist
Or OR how about buff the other ones???
like wahy
If it could still pull it off then that continues to show how strong the class is you know? lol
make the other ones not suck??
The other ones really don't.
most of the community disagrees lol
You might be honing in on a single approahc to the game.
Tbf 5% damage team is really strong if on other classes
Honestly, they should buff the damage so high to make it competitive it's not really an option
buffing the other ones wont ever bring them up to survivalist i dont think
Psykers get 4% crit lmao
and I don't care what this community has to say what sucks, no disrespect.
HOW
FUCKING
DARE YOU
¯_(ツ)_/¯
IST NOT EVEN CHRISTMAS YET
EXACTLY
Mariah Carrey is officially done
most of the community is less than mediocre at the game and wants changing to adapt to that medicority. Tat's not to say that being "bad" means you get no meaningful thoughts. More so just...bro you getting clapped in t3 complaining about changes that only matter for higher content (naked example from older convos I've lurked and all that).
MICHEAL BUBLE YOURE NEXT
You're right the devs should appeal to the top 10% of the game that will go over well lol
no patch is going to make up for significant player issues that have nothing to do with things like accessibility or disabilities and the like
I'll assume you're being sarcastic because you'd be able to read the rest of what I said.
We had a T4, sometimes T5 player, saying just "play better and git gud" to Auric Maelstrom players in this server lmao
imagine if the devs dropped a patch and was like "we didnt change nothing yall just suck eggs"
no game dev should ever create game states that are solely centered on that experience.
when confronted with the fact that he's talking to T5+ players he called them no lifers
¯_(ツ)_/¯
i don't recall saying that
in fact I think i opened with the fact i said I play this everyday
guilty conscience I see 😄
i play T5+ and nothing but
it wasn't you lmao
oh gotcha
but you really do have people, that play at higher levels, that have horrible ideas because it comes down to something they're lacking fundamentally that they just refuse to think anything else.
And when you see them play and what takes them out.
um...
it's uh.
Sunrise we all know you play tier 1
literally the most light work shit that has nothing to do with the game being arranged poorly. bro literally doesn't know how to manage shoves and swings and is bitching about whatever the fuck in the discord or something.
some playtesters are very opinionated, but you can't say that out loud
well you got mf's playing solo aurtic maelstrom and trying to make balance suggestions like WHAT
because they can't do no wrong
t1 is literally harder than t5+ and ill die on that hill
They're whatever in the minority that don't really have that kind of representative sway in reality.
bad team mates will fuck EVERYTHING up
Like, they really don't matter like that tbh.
like some Ogryn playtester thinks vets take no skills
but now look at Ogryn kickback
and thank god for that
when it comes to dealing with ragers, i already have maniac (even tho its only 20%) would it be better for dmg to elites or flak?
The fact that maniac is pretty much paramount on every single weapon is a testament that they need to be tweaked
anyone know much about the weapons specialist plasma glitch? cant find any info on it but ive heard it like 3 times
in which direction im not sure
I'm not going for any disrespect at all here: you need to consider how developers actually make their decisions by understanding methods, patch plans, etc.
Hell no I ain't no dev
I am going to throw shit at a wall and sit on my rocking chair and shout at youngsters
sip my lemonade MMM
but why is this? i feel people only do it for ragers bc they (in my opinion) are the only maniac that truley matters
i need some lemonade
There's a lot more to how these things play out than essentially memespeak. Not saying that's what you're doing, but that's how a lot of discourse is steered. People really don't know how some things work then run with that as their sole metric for understanding anything relevant to the situation and conversation.
its mostly to do with the INSANE rager spam you can sometimes get
games shouldnt be balanced for the 1%
one shotting or two shotting mutants are also nice, especially on mutant train modifiers
They aren't.
look I don't need to be a chef to know the soup sucks
Literally just about no game has balance patches designed around the highest performing playerbase.
i agree with this beacuse the fun of oneshotting them but i never really see mutants as that much of a risk
all im saying is there needs to be more balancing at the end of the day
Games that do that...are very niche at that point
if ragers did not exist i dont think id take maniac dmg bc i think mutants are such a non issue
incredibly such a late response but it is a good visual indicator of packs in dark areas. i only have health bars on elites and specialists and when i see a hallway far away light up with health bars that’s incredibly relevant info lol
well the thing is almost all balance proposals are done by playtesters who are the top playerbase
games with like 1k-5k playerbase do this kinda well sometimes ngl
and the fact the meta is so skewed towards certain things like scavenger and maniac damage is an indicator of that
and flamers are weak enough that i dont think they warrent an entire perk for them
Just got a good Graia IAG bricked by hadron
Scavenger literally just a standalone very strong aura. The meta wouldn't discredit it because it's literally just a safe option.
literally just another Tuesday
i dont mind maniac perk spam atm. game is already complicated enough
I’d like to see a stat of just how much of the community runs t5
and im telling you I play less effectively with it than without it. and alot of people are the same
give people simple things to hook on to less hour players
without it than with it*
we need crab to come back and rework the flamer
