Maybe. If you wanna get the most from the melee tree you can’t currently afford to take Survivalist to restore ammo and Deadshot is also a large investment that detracts further from that pool. You can still run it with good results but won’t get the absolute most from melee. Personally, I feel that the las pistol is a better accompaniment if you wanna go down the melee route without counting on another vet to provide ammo regen but that’s a worthy consideration. Ammo regen being BIS and therefore most popular, can open up opportunities for vets with off meta builds that wouldn’t necessarily function without that feat.

Your weapon can either deal with armor or has a blessing to enable dealing with armor, or it doesn't and 10% rending will do nothing to swing it in either direction

Some things work but it remains a frustration. The tree needs to be restructured so there are fewer tax nodes that provide unimpactful buffs. If every three lane path was replaced with a converging intersection such as the one leading into the grenades, the tree would be significantly better.

ngl, the math required to kill crushers effectively takes a lot more than just 25% or 10% more damage. You need to do more like, 200% more damage, while shooting weakspots and activating abilities, weapon upgrades for increase damage PER SHOT is important. Plasma gun is good but IMO but effective enough if your team is dogshit.

I have it set that my autogun MK V does like 200% base damage, 100% increased weakspot damage, auto crit on weakspot, and stacking 5 18% damage on every 3 and 5 shot in the silo. That is a combination of upgrades, perks, on the right weapon. Get your Blitz cooldown as low as possible, I know Vet has a few where killing elites reduce the cooldown by 6 seconds, curio can also do this with the right upgrade. sorry for the long type.

If seriously, Mk12 lacks versatility. You do nothing to carapace, and headshotting available specials can be done with Helbore with same efficiency - especially since weapon customization mod exists so you can have reflex sight on it. Add blessing for speeding up charge time... You get the idea.
