The lmb have no penetration right ?
^
i kinda wanna use a mk5 inf auto on melee vet so what would be good blessings for that
i just hate the revolver too much
Same as before
dumdum and fire frenzy/deathspitter
^
You can also run stripped down since you're going melee and will be running at enemies
Stripped down cool too
stripped down is also a very viable pick i've heard
It would mean that you can run through gunfire, without taking damage to get into melee with enemies
can't speak on it since i've never used it myself
Stripped down is just a melee vets friend
It makes gunfire not exist while you're running. And if you have duck and dive (which you should on melee vet) you have infinite stamina while being shot.
if you're confident in dodge and sliding though i'd say you could probably free up a blessing slot for more damage
and there's nothing cooler than sliding under a sniper shot while you're running him down
Totally a woman.
They're our three femme fatale
Naturally they'd make all the females specialists

the mutie is a female
Ones the crazy cat lady
(trapper)
One's the crazy one that'll burn your house and shit down
Ones the ex military shit, cause bitches love cannons (points if you get that reference)
which of the infantry lasguns is generally considered the best woudl y'all say?
MK12
1 or 4
sniper is a dude
Grab Headhunter + Deadly accurate
he has a male grunt when you hurt/shove him
oki ty
Nah nah, she just smokes really heavily

Got that 50 year smoker lung, and nurgle rot
they're all good enough that it's personal preference
use what you like
was thinking of swapping +4% crit for flak since I mostly use it to take out gunners, flamers, and trappers ASAP.
I prefer Mg4 but i think current best is mg1a
i do think the 1 is just better than the 12 now, though i could be wrong, but they all still are good, just now the 1 and 4 are much better and the 12 isnt as supreme anymore
MG4 & MG1a have higher DPS than MG12, but MG12 still hits reliable breakpoints that the other two may not
Laspistol is a crit weapon keep the crit chance and just stack more of it
What’s the optimal level for grabbing t2 blessings?
Trying to get manstopper for the lawbringer and I’ve got a new vet around level 10.
Why are you grabbing t2 blessings?
uh
Because I want to put manstopper on my lawbringer instead of flechette
If you aren’t lvl 30 yet don’t worry about gear yet
I can't even be assed to try and roll some decent ones
MGiv and MG1a haven't had their damage buffed
So there's no reason that they'd magically have more DPS than the MG12 outta nowhere
the only thing you should care about is putting +10%xp on all your curios
I am level 30 on all chars I just made a new one for this single purpose
When the MG12 has always had more Damage and more DPS
Cause it’s difficult to grab those t2 blessings on a 30 char
manstopper is a t2-only blessing, which is why they're asking about it
then roll for it on your zealot and use the t4 blessing on your veteran?
Or just upgrade 320 brunt weapons to blue
I'm doing better on mg1a and mg4 than mg12 in this current patch tbh
motherfucker you can just say it's "t2 only"
That holo sight trying to kiss me with every mg12 shot gets annoying after a while
You can be right without being a bitch about it.
i'm a bitch about it because it's the second time somebody remarked on the conversation without being aware that it's a t2-only blessing
lasguns having recoil at all is stupid fucking nonsense bullshit
just shut the fuck up about things that you don't know about
lasguns are lasguns BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO RECOIL
I heard there's a lore reason for it or smthn idk
Gas ejection or something
I am also equipped with gas ejection
You can eject me anytime
the recoil thing is a gameplay concession
guns feel weird to shoot in video games if the gun doesn't move around
revolver hits harder than bolter bro
Lasgun have recoil in the novel though
They dooo
some planets, for whatever mother fucking reason known only to the omnissiah himself, build lasguns with artificial recoil
Man, it's a weird, misunderstood quirk with videogame itemization. Not whatever happened to you in childhood to make you so edgy. Calm down.
Oh, that has an in-lore reason
most PDF are trained on auto-guns.
Solid shot guns, in other words.
not much of a misunderstanding to be had when I directly said it was t2-only before you commented
The guns having recoil, artificial or otherwise, makes them easier to adapt to as they're not having to re-learn new muscle memory.
And most Guardsmen come from PDF
Almost wanted to correct you until i saw the spacing hahaha
shit lore reason
Well established PDFs even become Guard Regiments such as Mordians
That's the in-lore reason for artificial recoil on lasguns
like the docyument?
Planetary Defense Force
I'll stick to the lore that the gas release cause a bit of recoil
Can't remember exactly, was it the cooling system?
I stopped questioning a long while back hahaha
I don't think the artificial recoil thing is always the case. Vitrian Dragoons' lasgun has an actual recoil. One of Tarnith's tried shooting the lasgun and it basically knocked him to the ground.
theyre lasguns at the end of the day
variations dont change much between marks
Only if you're very special and can't read the post times. Did you know, people online can reply at about the same time? No? Well believe it or not, it happens.
Except guns like Rippers
Technically, if the photon density is large enough, you could have some recoil. But I imagine at that point you'd be shooting so much "laser" you'd punch through everything in existence
im talking about infantry lasguns
executing the heretic behind artificial lasgun recoil is now priority ultimate
Yep yep I know, just pointing at other marks for comparison
dont think so
Definitely a "I'm gonna need to be carried" weapon
oops wrong quote
dont think so
also very special to tell somebody to use the non-existent t4 variant of a blessing
Only lasgun I like is the lucius helbore series. I've tried many times to warm up to those, but I just love killing things with a bayonet
i use the mg4 a lot its definitely a very good weapon
just shut up about things that you don't know about, and I won't have a problem
because I'm not fond of correcting misinformation
only thing is you'll need to live with carpel tunnel or get the autoclicker mod
I don't think I've ever seen you upset before.
I just want mk 3 slash to have less delay, kinda fun using it as a pseudo halberd
Not especially. It's a pretty obvious change from the expectation and an error others made as well. Having a panic attack over needing to correct two people with your super superior special videogame knowledge is what's actually special.
Though I think we both know you actually love an excuse to mouth off and cuss out strangers over a videogame. So. You're welcome. I look forward to the next time I can help you out with that. ❤️
Frustrated?
Wait, riddle me this, do one of the kantrael variants have a bayonet attached?
I think frustrated is more accurate.
Honestly honey, I should really charge you for this level of catharsis.
i'm being pretty aggressive yeah
Haven't played in awhile
but I'm prob just going to take this attitude to people who just spout misinformation out of nowhere
I guess you could mod it in but functionally no
Understandable. I get the same way about planting the shield over on ogryn
I know its not super rational or fair, but I just can't be assed to keep saying the same things over and over again when people refuse to just accept that planting the shield is dogass bad
Helbores are great so go on king
helbore 3 makes me sad
Please stop spouting misinformation. Misinformation is purposefully and maliciously misleading someone, not a person making a mistake about video-game abilities and then conceding after.
If you wanna justify your hissy, dont' spread misinformation to do it. ❤️
It has the longest charge time, and on top of it, it has a delay before you can fire it after shooting
precise definitions aside, I don't see the point to bring up information that you're not even certain about
mk1 gang
Yea as much as I love mk3, i wish the delay was reduced too
Mk3 laser musket gang
Bad weapon swap speed though. So I prefer plasma over helbore.
I much prefer the mk1 helbore.
True it is not for everyone
Also, why do some* low level players queue up for higher ranked matches, then leave if they die to the green ghost thingy?
Hes actually wrong too lul
Yes
Its basically taken over the role of the mk2 helbore from before patch 13
I dunno. Why do you keep bringing up terms you aren't certain about their 'precise definitions' of? How dare you use a word incorrectly. I'm gonna cry now. D:
Mk3 is when you REALLY want that Reaper dead in one shot
On crit
Surgical helps there
Speaking of, seems that there's 3 viable perkerinos on the plasma gun
Unyielding, Carapace, Maniac, Elites
so four
I'd say any combination of the four is totally acceptable, with Maniac being the most important
Sell me on it. I haven't played enough with any of the Helbores but I keep seeing people say that the Mk. 3 is the "good one" but I am curious what your thoughts are.
Love how the dmg profile vs carapace for helbores are misleading as heck
Plasma is just in such a good place now
Its highly reliant on surgical on the infinite ammo talent on veteran
Its pretty overtuned lol
17 dmg on charged sure....
People like big damage, so they prefer mk3.
Do u think bugged surge is also in a good place 🤭
If you run Surgical+Onslaught you have a solid foundation for firing speed and infinite ammo
And the mk3 helbore has a ton of one-shot breakpoints
I avoid using that until its fixed hahaha
As long as you can deal with its clunky firing issue, its a totally fine weapon
Well plasma is also busted LOL
Very, very good, even.
cant stand helbores
I'd hardly call plasma busted.
great weapons but so slow on the draw
It eats ammo left and right, which is a team-wide resource.
As someone who have been playing plasma since the game launched, I'd say plasma is in a very good place now.
Lol aint no way
And isn't super responsive to changes in the battlefield.
At least you don't take health damage when venting heat.
what do
Not as bad as Surge bug, I'm fine if the cleave is reduced to 60 from 100 or something
And that's the final piece of the puzzle, its heat mechanics.
Its manstopping time
I've gone through some matches without ever needing to resupply whilst using a lucius mk2
change both perks to flak/maniac
aight
more like its suck ass bugged up dumbchanics am I right
There's no way you actually think its not overtuned
Replace crit dmg with maniac, scattershot with no respite.
no
scattershot actually gives you pretty good damage on shotguns now
Its giga overstatted and has xbox levels of aim assist
Just queue for damnation and use a combat knife
it's the same size and thermal properties too
i got full bore 3
Slug shottie have a very tight spread.
I still see Vets pretending to be Periled Psykers a lot haha
No
Lmao twas a joke
So scattershot seems useless on this slug shottie to me.
The agri shotty?
not sure how much scattershot benefits on the slug
You dont scattershot on that onelol
but overall its just a good blessing for shotgun dps
for the other two shotguns at least
If slug could pierce 3 enemies then maybe...
Lucius Mk2 + combat knife + krak is my only loadout (atm, as I'm still leveling my alt)
Zamn
Mk 2 is very reliable
I'd love to use a shovel, but I like my knife.
That would be nice
That would be sick as fuck
Yes, bring back infinite shotgun pierce please. This time only for slug shot.
YESSSS
Still remember that bug. People were using fire shotgun because it pierce through everything.
Even map terrain xpp
But I'm screwed if the rest of the team is downed and I'm getting chased with no ammo by a helluva lotta enemies
It is like a teaser for melta gun.
No Infiltrate?
What kind of blessings should be found on an infantry autogun?
What perks am i looking for an the mk3 helbore?
should I grab born leader or competitive urge?
Mostly on cooldown, otherwise idk
Gotta go back to check my build
surgical and onslaught
Depends on the gun, generally perks are more impactful than blessings, but ppl use dmg, power and close tange dmg on hit/kill
That's blessings friend.
So i would prio getting the correct perks
I'd consider +crit chance and possibly +crit damage, or a enemy type that you're killing.
...well. Maybe skip crit chance if you run dead aim and enough +stamina regen delay reduction nodes to always have stamina for every shot.
something that's confused me for a little while, wtf does hadron even do?
surgical guarantees a crit.
thought it was so you could increase a weapon's stats or its initial dmg
If you're running surgical, then crit damage and a enemy type of yoru choice
Check your breakpoints in meat grinder and perk accordingly
Check gunner, shotgunner, flamer and reaper BPs is what I would recommend
But what I really want is Heavy shotgun with Endurant shield on veteran.
my last game as vet was with 3 psykers. wdym team wide? /s
would be a cool concept, basically you forfeit your melee for that
interesting balancing too
I've spent 10k plasteel trying to roll power cycler iv
fml
got loads of cycler iii but no dice
And stub revolver with scope please. We are supposed to be sharpshooter.
Now wait until you try and get Sunder and Power Cycler 4 on the same weapon, lmao.
Shorpscooter
I mean... you can do that right now.
just let me put a scope on bolter
You mean with mod?
Yes
i tried putting a sight on revolver with the mod, but went back to ironsights in the end
just blocks too much of your view
using crosshair remap to put a little chevron there in ADS was much better for me
Dang bros, I just realized I don't even own a Bolter.
check the shop every reset. I got my first power cycler 4 in the meltbucks shop. Then got another from Brunt's shop.
Just wait until it shows up in limited time daily store.
Rip
cause he's set to drop certain blessings very very rarely
I prefer Slaughterer on powersword.
I feels like ps already cleave through every trash mob when you charged your blade.
hecking sword dude
yeah i dont notice a difference either
give it to me
why not
heathens hands off my stick
Why do Orgyn players have this need to always go between you and what you are aiming at ?
Why single out the big lads? Literally everyone does it to me, including other vets ... especially other vets sometimes -_-
Just use plasma and free yourself from ogryngate.
Havent had the chance to get one yet
Playing with 2 Orgyns now they woke up the DH too
I use Ogryn shield combo with my friend plasma. Have a blast watching my friend killing sniper and shooter behind slabshield.
Good ogryn will hug the walls
Naw, honestly it doesn't matter where the Ogryn is, if has between you and a heretic, just let him have it. Plenty of other targets.
Guessing drop unarmored for maniacs?
I really, really, really hope that they changed Executioner's Stance so while it is activated, your weapons can shoot through allies, because CHRIST. I am really starting to get tired of using the Plasma Gun despite putting up huge numbers with it and playing the gacha with millions of dockets and Plasteel to get a near perfect one, but the capability to fire through the Ogryn in front of you is just... God, man.
is tactical axe any good at all?
Yeah.
taxe is an underdog weapon right now, not enough uplifting qualities to make it a high-end choice
I stopped using Executioner as soon as I could because the average team ensured I never got to actually use it lol
thoughts on those blessings? do you need headtaker or something?
I do HT + Deci on mine, Shred if I'm crit Zealot
headtaker + decimator is a common combo, but All or Nothing isn't horrible if you push attack often
Ngl I fell into the rashad axe gaming
Feels so good melee killing crushers so fast
headtaker is the way to go if you're picking either it or decimator, since decimator falls off a ton with spamming any attacks and just is a super short duration. But that's a good enough combo you can figure out if you like it or not
what perk do i get if i only use it as a piss off stick for ragers and maulers
Brutal momentum blessing
flak, since flak ragers exist and maulers are flak on body
Push attack light combo kills em if you headshot
i suggest overwriting Specialists
Exactly man, it's so fucking awful.
stamina will actually be useful
maniac/flak if doing both.
he doesn't have mod slots for both*
thats a suicide with 3+ of them
i just stagger them to death with power up
Sunder is much better than BM.
oh, i thought both were just magnifying glass symbols. Yeah, then flak is the way to go for just one
Do what you will
What's the point of Sunder? Energized attacks already cut through everything, more or less. I'm not sure what MORE cleave will do
@trail totem Take Maniac, because you can't get a light attack breakthrough with that damage and finesse on Carapace, but you will still hurt them a lot. This would be really good, but man, those perks...
it chokes on carapace without sunder
Controls packs on Auric extremely well.
Also what Dzecar said
Oh, fair. I wonder if wrath does enough as an option, that's what i have on my non-dueling powersword. Wrath four is... 250 cleave I think, fully stacked?
@bold ibex watch this for why you want Sunder.
there are 2 diff cleaves, hitmass and armor cleave. sunder gives you big armor cleave. energised attacks gives you big hitmass cleave
And +250% cleave from wrath wouldn't give anything beyond hitmass cleave? Huh
PSA use Only in Death Does Duty End with your Commanding Shout, it costs 1 point and is probably the most clutch ability in game
correct, cleave from wrath is hitmass not armor
not bad.
...now I want sunder on my dueling sword, yes. :<
It has +25% maniac/carapace, power cycler/+brittleness on energized. Which... doesn't seem to do a ton, tbh.
but the day I find another 377 sword with that and sunder is probably not any time soon D:
do you have any data sources about this armor cleave
What to change on this sword
wrath to powercycler 4
sprint efficiency to +25% flak or carapace
brittle mostly shines vs bosses. it does deff add up with crusher packs etc
just now realizing this penance only applies for the unupgraded version of scavenger
Is there any worth to the Tac axe for any of the classes at all?
Nah, it's bugged regardless.
it brings crackhead energy to the team
Ahh okay. I guess it works out since I mostly use it for bosses or doing one crusher at a time.
Because it’s the weapon I get constantly good stats for
But I never want to use it
slightly more useful for zealots with crit builds, but they usually run knife
I actually forget that penance exists in this game. Stopped doing all penance after unlocking all the cosmetics.
it's fun to get all the +power blessings for hitting stuff a lot... and then hitting stuff a lot.
Not the best option but it will kill just about everything fairly quickly.
Took me 1 whole month to do it without exploits.
its kinda fun to m1 horde with power+BM blessings but is inferior to most other options
Hmmm. I will try it on some of the other classes. To be fair. For as much shit as I give it, I haven’t actually used it. It just feels… weird
Should I change Shred for Decapitator ?
decapitator? not a fan
wanna try it out
Tried the % to insta kill on my Orgyn weapon and now Maulers and Maniacs are as soft as butter
now that one i love
you can only stack decapitator reliably on horde
funny to whack 4 ragers from full hp in 1 swing
True that homie
not sure if enemies damaged by your team still count as "oneshotted"
Hitting a mauler and he just decides that it aint worth it and takes a nap
2 handed axe for veteran plz
while being the highest damage buff you can get on caxe it just doesnt work when you need it to
which infatry lasgun have high dps ?
all of them if you aim straight
MG Ia does pretty good dmg but guzzles ammo like a v8. I prefer the MG IV personally
mg4 and 1a have roughly the same dps after the buff but breakpoints on them suck massively
Shred for Brutal momentum
Is stacking Headtaker and Decimator a viable strategy ?
After using it... it's a fun meme. But... Headtaker+Brutal Momentum is way better. Decimator falls off stupid fast and disapears when you miss a swing.
After playing with the agri brauto for several rounds I dont really get it? Is there a specific way to use it (aside from never bracing already got that) because it just seems kinda meh compared to some better options right now.
Where as Brutal Momentum will do pretty comparable damage most of the time if you smack them in the face
Why is BM the meta right now tho is it the extra weak point dmg or the ignore mass ?
Yes.
Yup. Weak point damage isn't as much as some other options... but that + you kill someone, you cleave everything, is real good
I've been using the Fire Team aura since the tree update and Its pretty good.
If you're running something like a boltor or you're spamming shotgun to all the things, you're kinda SOL... but otherwise, both the other options are pretty good. +Movespeed is fun for melee vets for sure. 5% might not sound like a ton but it's noticeable.
not bracing is outdated info, it's good enough now for eliminating vertical recoil so you can crouch still and fire fairly accurate volleys
they're good comfy guns, but if you have good aim, an IAG will serve you better because they have almost as much ammo and huge headshot damage
taking the suppression talent with a brauto is actually hilarious, you'll get a whole gunner patrol to cower in place by firing 5 rounds

will try the suppression thing for funsies but will probably move over to an IAG
is there a good resource on how supression works? I kinda get how it plays out in practice but... my understanding is pretty vague.
no supression talents = gunners are a bad time
Excellent question, probably a poor answer.
this worth getting?
stats are lovely but id want to reroll every single thing on it soooo
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2909606925&searchtext=suppression this guide might be outdated, but it has a list of weapon suppression values and a linked second guide of enemy suppression resistances
that illustration
Perfect veteran aristian work
All I know is that with the +25% suppression on plasma it only takes 1 shot into a group of shooters to get them to scatter
I didn’t feel a difference at +50% but I didn’t try that in AM
heavy weapons like plasma and bolter have a substantial aoe effect around enemies they kill, so they may not need it
like you explode one guy in the middle of the group and everyone around him goes "oh shit he exploded"
melee enemies except pathetic groaners ignore suppression
Nobody likes to shoot when an ogryn is ripping up a new hole with a stubba
That explains that
shotgunners are immune to suppression too
roach scatter
They do stagger if you do the destealth from infiltrate
anyone else with a gun should be fair game, though i have never been confident at suppressing snipers, i feel like they try to get 1 shot off before they react
Yes. This is the best way I’ve seen myself.
My experience too
that might be a special quality of infiltrate to force the suppression status
Infiltrate suppress/stagger has been really good.
Useful when in a clusterfuck
kinda funny when they go "oooh scary veteran"
Had a tough AD game earlier where I basically could only spend time resurrecting my blueberry teammates
Ofc VoC is just better in those situation imo
id be scared too if a british person just appeared out of thin air
Nurgle never told me about this shit
Agreed he might do the london handshank
I’ve found that the reposition, clutch, and objective capabilities of infiltrate have just been way more valuable in pugs than VoC
VoC is better with a team that isn’t completely worthless. Infiltrate I’ve had far more success with 2-3 brain dead teammates
(the auric modifier i mean)
spudems needs to wake up a bit
I'm trying to do a shout plasma vet with power sword, I spend a lot of time in melee, should I go all the down the right tree?
Infiltrate got that "Sounds like a lot of Not my Problem" and do your job before teammates die
They just delete everything before I can get a shot xp
Pretty much. The only problems I have are the ones I choose to deal with and I have enough resources to deal with every problem. Let’s me prioritize better
Tru
i do like maximizing revive speed on vet
1 sec
especially useful with stealth
totally fine, you can just use plasma like a fat revolver and whip it out when something needs to die
Just dont stand between teammatws when reviving getting in cross fire sucks
@obtuse dawn
This is my build for plas + ps
I usually use infiltrate as scouting and putting in my nose in
Yah I don’t use infil for any of that
what do i do vet chat
uhh dump stat for MK VI Power sword?
sustained - > onslaught ranged weak to flak/cara? if you are adamant on this roll but 62% damage is :\
idk how much itll actually affect the weapon
doesnt the mk3 helbore already do insane overkill
Just got this as an Emperor's gift
cleave damage/targets
youd have to test that but its possible to miss BPs
blessings and activating your sword carries your cleaves
never trust anime
make lasgun shots rain from orbit instead
lol what
How can we save this?
I had to endure playing like that
?
but im glad I could bring salvation to veteran
put on a blessing you 100% don't want so you don't get it from upgrading, so you can swap it off after upgrading
Not great but weakspot to maniac and i guess supercharge to PC4
The rule for power swords is power cycler or bin
Not sure what you mean by "protect".
The only thing you can do to a weapon is refine perks or rebless.
have PC, just not sure what to replace. I guess keep BM even if tier 1 since its not that much of a difference in weak spot damage
Take your Swing, take your Swing
wanted a 550 weapon, no luck yet since start of game
dont really need one
difference between 500ish-550 is going to typically be not noticeable
^^
sure but monkey brain wants perfect weapons
I’ve been using a 486 PS for forever in AM and it’s always done me just fine tbh
then you are at the Gacha's mercy
Which one do I pick?
You were so close to having a 550 stat weapon
Thats the highest stat you can get
This close to greatness
But change brutal momentum for energized
No i mean power cycler
Weakspot to maniac
Youll have to suffer with a 535 stat
💀
middle, dumdum 4 and flakiac
and a magazine size that's an even number
THIS
Bolter kinda needs Survivalist. You can try it without but you'll feel the ammo pinch.
Other than that, Tinkered Frag Nade is a much better companion to Bolter than Krak!
Just make sure you grab Frag with Tinkered, otherwise stay with Krak.
got it.

Is it worth trying to fish for a better plasma gun?
Absolutely.
Does anyone know, if I'm going for that penance that requires 90% accuracy in a mission and ending with no ammo left, if using a shotgun, as long as you land at least 1 pellet, that shot fully counts as a hit right, and doesn't count against your accuracy?
If you'r running surgical/pinning shot, you can play around a good bit lower in the trees. I like cutting out the non-reload talents higher up, personally, to excessive toughness regen on elite kill. Then you can choose between the psuedo capstone and having the team toughness regen. Or perhaps some of the greneade abilities.
and since you're less able to chain the class skill to full refund due to boltor reloads, the class refund on kill isn't bad.
Only one pellet needs to hit, yeah
cool, i tired doing it with a bolt and it just struggled too much with too many shots missing cause the enemy was already dead, or misclick and it would fire a burst instead of single shot. Hoping a shotgun might prove easier to ensure every shot at least hits something
Personally I used a plasma gun
i'm tempted to replace infernus with deadly accurate 1. It's 70%+ crit damage on weakspot but... it feels like it'd still probably do more, wouldn't it?
Any tips for "make every shot count"?
dont miss
Just take a single shot gun and aim very carefully
Change infernus 4 to headhunter
deadly accurate better on most targets

Right right, deadly accurate. I only have 1 unlocked rn though.
yeah i just... I never see it actually DO anything. But by my luck, burn will get buffed the moment i mod it out D:
abnd should I swap +25% flak to +10% crit damage? Since.... everything's crittin
Infernus and headhunter ping pong off eachother very well tho
And
Dont chance to deadly accurate until you roll a lvl 4
flak is good
also burn is only good against high health targets
Crit damage is rarely worth it even on a crit build
If you're a crit build, crit chance can be good
so is deadly accurate
Close to max level on my Veteran, looking to gear up my weapons next. What are some of the top picks at the moment?
does it work differently than +flak damage?
Crit damage only effects the bonus damage of the crit, not the entire damage roll
deadly accurate can help with breakpoints though no?
So random example. if you do 10 damage, plus 10 crit damage, +10% crit would give you 21 damage, not 22.
Ahh. Right right, I forgot that. thank you for reminding me
Np
So you do need something insane like +100 crit damage to be meaningful. Where +25% flat against flak is just gonna be a better time all around
lots of options, plasma gun + powerswords + chainsword + columnus autogun + hellbore 3
It's good if it hits a specific breakpoint on a crit build
But it's pretty specific
Like 20% more
I guess I'll just wait to see if I get a deadly accurate 4 then and make my decision then
Its the difference for me one hitting a scab and dreg gunner
Imo, claw swords have the greatest utility of any vet melee
With the 1A
cuz compared to my deadly accurate 3 headhunter 4 autogun, lasgun does so much less
been thinking about the statistics behind getting a weapon with properly allocated stat arrays, successfully rolled blessings of acceptable tiers, and obtaining reasonably useful perks lately
I haven't tried the columnus or plasma gun yet. Powersword feels nice but I might try chainsword again. I'm sad Vets don't get access to the Eviscerator, yet have 7 different axes
Autoguns are solid
and I'm not happy about it
was about to say too that claw sword is amazing once you get a hang of it. I got converted to it on vet and havent looked back
We can be twins
the riposte is very nice on the claw

idk about the statistics, but it takes me about 20-40 hours to get a good roll+weapon.
The real unforgiveable thing was them massively buffing and nerfing blessings but not resetting the mod slots, so all the old modded weapons needed replaced
yes. I mean, at face value "gambling" seems alright, except that even gambling isn't pure rng
Though for the columnus, which mark do you prefer?
anytime i run auric its always claw by my side
You can take my luck
wild, almost creepy how similar they are
I got it second roll
and yea, having gear that isn't broken just viable, then having it completely trashed with patches
columnus infantry auto, think its mk4 MK5
That right there is the greatest weapon for veteran guardsman
Courtesy of kantrael
I don't actually care too much about the blessings on most of my gear
Right? I'm incredibly pleased by how it performs. It and laspistols are slept on
I want gunner reduction on my curios, I want maybe one specifically good blessings on my weapons, and i want flak and something useful for the weapon
idgaf about better unless it's a main weapon
should I take competetive urge or born leader?
Born leader is handy, but urge can potentially hit some nice breakpoints during a mixed horde
We sort of passed this
Kantrael shotgun
A no ammo pickup maelstrom is your best friend
Remove scavanger
Be a melee vet with a shotgun basically
I played for 1.3k hours on zealot and psyker
Started playing vet recently
Rolled cycler 4 on my 2nd or 3rd sword roll
My luck on crafting for every class is complete trash tbh
my first ever psword i consecrated to gold had cycler 4
but this was after melk sold me it twice
lmao
Hacker
im darktide jeff bezos
On a side note, I'm slowly starting to like las pistol + claw almost as much as dagger + revolver
today i forgot +25% toughness on elite kill with my lasgun spam build. I feel so dumb D:
why do you like Claw so much and how do you build yours?
my claw is trash atm
And mainly because the main heavy attacks are decent ,and the parry is just, both fun and neat
Your parry can one-tap ragers
owo
Blocks overheads from crushers and bosses, etc
I would probably just put rampage and savage sweep on it
dont, dont give me hope
This is my current totally not scuffed claw
I have a theory that whatever weapon/blessing you're trying to game the system to get, the DT server detects your aura and deliberately avoids giving it to you
it senses your chakra and reverses it and sticks it in your ass
I'm not even going to talk about how long thrust 4 took me on zealot
It hurt though
lmao
I feel you
D o g
I was stuck on thrust two for so long
DT on switch lookin good
I had almost every other 4 first
iPhone port
based, platform finally catching up to the monetization structure
the way DT was meant to be played

Is there anything the mk6 powersword does better than the mk3?
Everything lol
all if you get good
Main tips for using claw (specifally IV, probably). Light heavy for hords, push attack or heavy one for single target damage
parry lots
What doesn't it
I thought people said the mk3 was better last time I checked.
Hold up there's a video for this
In this Warhammer 40k Darktide Deep Dive, we take a closer look at The Power Sword, its hidden mechanics and combat complexities.
Warhammer 40000 Darktide Power Sword Breakdown
Warhammer 40k Power Sword
Ok thank you. Wanted to know what I need to buy 20 of to try and get a God role.
rngesus be with you
You want at least power cycler 3 (4 is a solid upgrade, but not needed), and brutal momuntum, at I think 12.5% damage
Perks are variable, watch that video for info
spend 250,000 dockets and highest was a 365 with 56% damage. fml
Perfect
At least dockets are easy
Btw, mobilty is dump stat per normal, but you also don't need a high roll on cleave targets
It's good to have, but brutal momentum largely does the same job better
Got it. Thanks for the info!
mhmm
The big deal is to make sure you have as high damage and finesse as possible, and preferably solid cleave damage too
i just spent 1mil trying to get a good claw mk 4, nothing higher than 355 lol
is this a good one then?
Well at least it got the brutal momentum like you recomended.
Swap super charge for power cycler, change melee damage, and you're good to use it for now tbh
Good enough
I continue to bring justice to the xenos via shovel in Lethal Company. Feels like I'm doing the Emperor's work still
Can this be saved?
Got any suggestions on what melee damage to switch to?
with a time machine
Watch the video I posted :v
Got it. Thanks again!
today i just had the bestest death.
Dodged down steps to the side, which I guess lifted me enough to count as 'falling' over the ledge. Dangle on ledge.
Less than one second later, a burster showed up and went durkadurka and, regardless of damage done, i guess it knocks you off ledge grabs
I was looking at the reddit thread about how "vet is bad" from 23 days ago and it's so funny how little understanding people had about things back then (and now still probably)
to be fair.... Vet was pretty bad. They got nerfed down to the level of the other classes, where the other classes got buffed to where vet used to be. Fatshark's kneejerk buffs really helped a lot
Nah I played patch 13 and still beat out everyone for awhile, imo right now we are busted, but in an unhealthy boring kinda way
for a while, until people figured out how to play their new classes.
I wouldn't call us 'busted'. Other classes can do pretty well too. It wasn't like before the reworks where vet was just... the best at everything
My favorite weapons weren't working as well during patch 13 so I used the recon build, now in patch 14 my plasma and argi are back on top and I'm happy again. Took some getting used to not relying on 75% DR in executioners to faceroll everything, but Vet is in a good spot rn. Just needs some reorg of the talent tree to not be annoying
Honestly Vet feels like both a good Vet and a good Zealot, while zealot feels pretty lackluster unless you go full zoomies
i'm really curious to see what the keystones do
if they're even half good vet's gonna be great
moments before disaster
Yeah vet doesn't need much right now, just slightly less talent tax and we golden
If you take out bugs like the surge staff shenanigans or the fact that there is an unreplicatable bug for zealot that allows them to channel their symbol indefinitely , veteran is the strongest class right now, 30 second cd (reduced by 6 seconds for special kill on high stg is 100% uptime when it matters), if you build right you will never die, but every solid build relies on kill confirmed/iron resolve or w/e the toughness dr one is called at the end. You are vet from last patch except you can stagger bosses and mutants. It's too strong but it gets old
I'm stoked for the synergy with ping spam :u
no rashuns for jenkins
what should i do w this
LOL following the ancient ways
he said he didnt see it, btw
did he shout LEROY first?
Nah, not even close. New vet is way weaker. I'm not arguing it's not a good class and we're not in a good place, but we just don't have the same level of any of that. also the lack of reload on ability use neutered boltors, so rip
If you used auto reload on bolter patch 12 you weren't using the good build
I set one off today, I shot my kickback through a crate and aggro'd it from like 80m. Oopsies. We killed it just fine tho
With the right set up bolter was counter fire king still 100% uptime with the reload feats, you just had to do tech to pull it off
Maybe he’s playing with these settings
If it were me I'd roll crit chance to flak damage. Volatile helps 80% CR plasma's so maybe leave it. You can save your second modification for later if you feel like you need to hit a different breakpoint
Idk, I'll call the build that never died, full toughness restore on demand, and circumvented Boltor's one weakness without procs or wonkiness is pretty great. And it's much less playable now than when it was.
Again. Not saying it's bad now. It's very workable. But it's not what it was
hows my plasma?
not 73% charge rate? trash
oof
why in the world are there still psykers out there that only use assail
assail is a good answer for non armored stuff, such as regular shooters and gunners and stuff
so for the things that most frequnetly make a run much harder, assail is great
yeah, thats not good
okay, whoever said shotguns can work for "Make every shot count" penance is DEAD WRONG. I've done two heresy runs now, used all my ammo on kantrael taking note that i got a hit marker for every single shot. And no penance completion. It has to be counting missed pellets against your accuracy or something.
Also is there any way to track accuracy while a mission is ongoing, so you can see if you're staying above 90%?
IM WRONG, ILL ADMIT IT
it was me I think
what are the bis blessings for plasma
This is more or less what I like to use but I usually use chainsword with plasma for quicker reaction time since plasma is a slow draw
could also switch field provisions for extra crit but I like being a team player 🤷♂️
do two or more vets with the scavenger perk add to each other
here is my "what on god's green earth is wrong with these pubbies, please just let me finish one hi shock dam before bed" PS + plasma build
It was fool proof before, there's too much fool proof stuff in the game imo, for example I think DH should be pretty much an auto kill for 1 person unless you can DPS it down (witch had better design because 1. The witch had a variable degree of alertness that degraded over time 2. It only punished the person who fumbles the mechanic but lfd2 doesn't have rng variables to the degree DT does so I understand why, but maybe that's why something like the DH doesn't feel good imo.)
lmao I feel that in my bones
ill try that guys build first, then ill try yours after. Thank you!
how comparable is the revolver to the plasma gun?
Yes. Exactly. It's no longer fool proof and everything was nerfed even if, after the balance tweaks, it's still good.
They are both goated, revolver currently applies it's blessings to all weapons (ie hand cannon's rending on crit applies to melee weapons), plasma is great for filling the kill feed with your name with how it cleaves + how elites spawn in groups of like 6 shotgunners/gunners
Yeah I was thinking about switching from the revolver to the plasma, just played a really tough round and felt like it was underperforming a bit compared to the plasma
how important is the cleave targets stat on a Psword?
plasma can shoot through large cover which is nice
should be noted that the revolver applying it's blessing effects to melee weapons is apparently a bug, so probably not worth taking into consideration or building around, as fatshark will likely fix the bug
I usually play revolver as a sidearm, quick drawing to snipe a target then keep meleeing. Plasma I keep out all the time until I need to swat some trash. I think Plasma is stronger but thats just me
Main advantage is that the plasma scales better with bad situations because you can put out more rounds in a shorter time
Yeah plasma has like 8x the magazine and can 2 shot all ogryn
Revolver is good, but it shines due to the bug for sure
plasma is pretty much better as a weapon though, both of them fill the quick draw (relative to power) long reload archetype
It's definitely not intentional, but it's been known, hard to say if it wasn't understood in time for the Xbox patch authentication time
Revolver loses so much uptime from reloading if you’re constantly shooting it, I feel it’s a better fit for zealot than vet
I like it on stealth vet
But stealth vet feels bad because no over shield toughness from shout
Stealth vet can make great use of it I agree, especially if we get a holster reload from weapon specialist
I use revolver on my shouty vet
That'd be really nice, kinda like the passive reload ability in drg
I would argue the plasma is just straight up better, having used both revolver and plasma, the revolver feels better when supplementing a primarily melee-oriented build, as a good revolver with surgical + handcannon doesn't really need support from your talent tree to stay effective and do it's job, which is to deal with elites at distances too far for you to reach with your melee.
Plasma, on the other hand, gets noticeably better once you build into ranged damage. Despite it's heat mechanic and needing to learn to manage venting, it feels more forgiving to use than revolver, and feels like it does farm more damage with far better mag size and ammo economy. Plasma makes a better dedicated weapon for a ranged-oriented build, I'd say.
Imo you don't need ranged focused talents for plasma, it plays so well into the middle tree that I run it with that + melee stuff from right side and it feels solid
I wanted to remain a VId chad but the plasma just does it 100% better
Like if you run it with shout over exec, you will do less damage overall but you will never die
ever since they killed shocktrooper with crit strings and recon crit string length life hasnt been the same
get hot blaze away
Going ranged focus with plasma is so much overkill that it will only really help you against monstrosities
have you tried columnus mk5?
it's basically the same level of fun dakka
Hot take that I've always believed in, recons are boring and will never not be boring compared to their IAG cousins
Needing a build to use it kinda sucked
it's time for las pistol memes.
That's a good las pistol meme
Useable but missing one perk
Beast of nurgle killer
I mean, honestly ,just change the perks and you're fine. Though infested isn't the worst thing
Reload is wasted on a las pistol but eh, it's fine
good ol columnus
Switching speed load to dum dum and switching one perk will be better imo
He shootin
alright, finding out Finesse is not very impactful on Power swords overall performance is useful
but but but mutie oneshots!
are yall just spamming light attack on chainsword?
Finese and damage are the most important stats by a good bit, then cleave damage, then cleave targets, then dump mobility
Chainsaw heavies are good too
i thought people spammed the heavy
columnus- what's the dump stat?
gotcha
because spray while moving is worth more then 10 ammo
and you cant give up stopping power, damage or stability
It's the reverve you want
But 500 instead of 600 isn't terrible
And realistically it'll be more like 550
Between vetern ammo ability + pick ups you won't run dry even on a gun with 67% ammo
Depends on the gun
On Columnus? Ammo is the last impactful impo
Light attack on chainsowrd is meh
Would anyone be able to tell me out of all 5 stats for Plasma Gun
(Damage, Stopping Power, Charge Rate, Ammo, Thermal Resistance)
I know Damage needs to be high, but what would be my stat I shouldn't worry too much? I'm guessing thermal resist?
Light attack on chainsword is for killing bruisers and that’s about it
At least I've never personally run red in an auric
orange maybe after a really bad wave
but never empty
Thermal resist is the dump yes, all the rest directly affect your damage except for ammo(charge rate is bugged)
Damage + Stopping Power > Charge Rate > Thermal Resistance > Ammo
No real dump stat though
testing tho, its a couple % difference (in the realm of 2.5%) in attack speed between 60% and 80% finesse, and the weakspot damage increase is not enough to significantly change number of hits on tough shit like crushers, maulers, etc.( by ~9% on heavy, and 3% on light). dunno, seems overrated. Finesse, that is.
Thanks a lot!
aint no way ammo is last 💀
YEah it's probably the last two reversed
I don't use plasma really, so that was just at a first glance
I found a super meme plasma but I've never bothered building it
gets hot fast lmao
Attack speed is basically always a DPS upgrade. The damage all matters with breakpoints really, which is a really complex thing to get arranged
I mean, that's solid
Perks are very unfortunate
I was talking about perks
Ah, am dumb
I mean technically I could swap both perks
Gets hot and blaze away are the meta blessings for plasma
Ranged weak spot might hit a breakpoint if you swap reload to something
Problem with ranged weakpoint is that it doesn’t increase the damage of the whole hit, it only increases the additional damage from the weakpoint hit by 10%
Gotta have glory for than toughness regen, because everyone know vet is really hurting for that :v
I think i have a better plasma sitting around somewhere
but I havent bothered much with it after a handful of games
IAG life is too fun
if milkman gives me good perks for Helbore I might just try to craft a better one, it's always felt so clunky to me though
well yes, categorically that is true with DPS; its in the name DPS. But DPS on the power sword gets weird when you gotta take breaks from swinging to reactivate the power attacks that actually do the mega damage; and those are limited to 4 an activation. Lowers Finesse's value relative to the power sword specifically in my mind. Ah well, both swords I got have PC4 and Bromentum 3 on it, so I will figure it out through trial and error. Thank you for your input.
I will contemplate it as I get devoured by a mob of poxwalkers.
There's some good finesse damage to be had with power sword 6 actually. Push attack into light attack is really high burst damage
finesse speeds up the charging animation too
You can just cancel the animation so that'll be minimal
Eh, it still gets you into the block faster with the 4 one. I'd say it's a huge QOL buff regardless but definitely not necessary
i use it with my lapistol build because i don't ahve the points for all the +melee speed
bet ya'll feel real jealuos
...really wish it had high pen instead of mobiilty but
Ngl Bloodthirsty seems like a fun meme
Yup. I'm debating on replacing rev it up with headtaker 4
but i hate replacing a level 4 i don't have learned
Does chain axe suffer from the same problem as eviscerator where only the impact of a revved hit will count as crit?
Does thrust increase the tick damage of the special attack?
even if it does, it's the least of chainaxe's worries
Chain axe gotta worry about the great chainaxe
Well it’s the difference between your chainaxe having one good blessing/perk and zero
Chainaxe is an interesting gimmick with it's extra tick of damage on the light attack
I just wish they would shorten how long it sticks for
Only hope it can kill
overclock the motor a bit
every time it gets hung up on shit and twitches the camera around
okay i confirmed that the special attack ticks all crit
Sheesh
Ngl, it would be kind of dope if chainsword light attacks did that, because right now it's basically all heavies
Chain sword doesn't need a buff though
Good to know
Chainsword is fine
be interesting to move the power to the tick rather than the initial hit
Definitly should try mixing it with Thrust :v
chainsword go brrrrrrrr
Special a poxwalker, rev and full Thrust special a boss, see what happens for science
would likely make it objectively worse though
granted if I want my chainsword fix, my zealot with an eviscerator scratches that itch a lot more...
Thrust is power, and not just damage, so if anything will boost the specials damage that will
chainaxe has thrust?
I might switch out rev with headtaker until I find one somehow...
it does
but rev it up... 20% move speed on special attack use is insane
To be clear, I'm purely talking about special attack memes, it's probably not that great
okay.... what are the guys with flak armor, carapace on heads, with mauls?
with 3 new people
cuz my chainaxe onetaps them with body special attack blows with the guaranteed crit
Maulers
Yeah. It can one tap maulers on damnation which is nifty
You probably do over half of a crusher
Killing elites is the only thing chain axe can do which is why it is bad
I mean, heavy attacks on axe can do hordes, it's just not amazing
about 1/3rd but i don't have carapace. with carapace, yeah
Running any rending talents?
Rashad with the funny 25% atk speed thanks to desperado and trench drill
What should be prioritized on curios for veteran?

EDIT: actually... with crits, you're right. over half a crusher
if chainaxes and similar applied the bleed talents/rending talents per tick they'd be pretty interesting
Stamina imo if you want a deadshot but still useful overall
so I'm noticing a trend there... you really don't like gunners, huh?
Yes
run 3 of these or no balls
When the director spawns a full fucking wave of gunners, sometimes you just eat hits and there's only so much you can do
probably the worst chip damage in the game
Don't get me wrong, I like stam, but I don't find I need more than +3 stam + 12% stam regen
And I push and block a lot more than most people I see
I totally agree, on my stealth knife zealot my main nemesis are packs of gunners. If I can get close enough that they all stop shooting im fine, but if even one starts spooling up their gun, I'm dead, as I can't outdodge a machine gun
You can dodge one machine gun
You can maybe dodge three machine guns, some of the time
your average, fuck the team, what even is a crafting material, gotta go fast zoomies speedrunner
You cannot dodge eight machine guns
Bar code life
gunners are about the only thing that will instagib you in damnation
Oh he is ze spy
barring nets and dogs i guess
Tf2 spy gaming
I run melee shout vet actually
oh yeah good point. I do laspistol shout vet and melee shout vet usually.
lasgun crit does good against gunners by contrast
I sweqr to god trappers always spawn with flamers
that's not true. they sometimes spawn with poxwalkers
If you're standing in front of an ogryn, a knife with decent mobility can dodge in a curved line and end facing their back
So you surf around then, special to apply bleed, light attack heavy attack
Sometimes mutants grab and take you to flamers or poxwalkers
Trapper is a hoe she be doing it with the whole gang

I love when I get hit by a trapper and two poxwalkers yell get down mister president
my favorite is mutant throw into trapper into poxwalker spam
My favorite is a mutant yeeting you over a ledge to instant death with no ledge grab
okay these chainaxe is not good, but it's hlarious. Rev it up 4 + the 5% speed vet aura = zoom
Zoomer axe
Pox burster explosion normally,
I fly
Pox burster explosion on netted people.
Nope.
Just want to give a shoutout to the "Crosshair Revamp" mod, as it let me change out that stupid, four chevrons spaced out around the area your aiming in, reticle that plasma gun normally has for an actual pinpoint crosshair reticle, and the same exact thing for charged attacks but with the charge meter a helbore has. Makes such a major distance when I'm trying to hit distant headshots. Great mod
Cool stuff. I've honesly played too much KF2 though, I don't really even use my crosshairs
But it's always good to see cusomization regardless
Kf2
mk 4 claw kinda makes me think of executionar sword in how spamming heavy 1 is good dps on single target
Killing floor 2?
Killing Floor 2
it's just funny cause the plasma gun doesn't have accuracy issues whatsoever, it's pinpoint accurate. But its default aiming reticle is what you would expect for a messy, inaccurate aoe weapon, like a launcher or something
can u link mod
Might as well be with the blade profile
Dunno
Claw swords are actually fucking clubs yeah
They are supposed to be pinpoint accurate and no recoil by lore...
Executioner swords are actual bladed weapons :v
if you do get the mod, just hit F4 to go to your mod settings, and in the settings for Crosshair Revamp, you can set what you want your aiming reticle to look like for prettymuch any weapon. Really nice customization
Fatshark's statement on this was that initially lasguns in this game didn't have it, but during playtesting they found it felt too jarring/weird and so implemented recoil.
Common misconception, las guns do not have recoil. Your Vet is being spooked every time the gun fires and he's jumping in reaction.

yeah i've been using crosshair remap for so long that when i saw a clip of plasma gun's original crosshair, i was shocked and disgusted
It gets hot
i had forgotten how bad it was
ow, not the spicy fingers
Use faith of empra to aim
Exactly
do lasguns cannonically have no recoil in WH40K lore? Cause of that's the case, why do they have stocks? They'd be kinda pointless with zero recoil
The heat causes the gun to jump cause hot bahahaha
More for stable aiming
Learn to shoot without your crosshairs
That way you can draw your revolver and instantly headshots enemies like the emporer intended
Yee haw amen
Cause stocks are cool
Fastest draw in the west (side of the galaxy)
Dual wielding lasguns like its a wolfenstein game
random but is there a day of the week that darktide usually gets updates dropped on? Hyped for traitor curse and wondering what the potentially probably days of the week are
Vermintide is lucky I love it enough to put up with dual wielding smh
Yeah, the day you're wanting to play the most so you have to wait for the update to finish
On aniversary likely
So 30th of november
