Depends on the team comp to a degree. If you have a Vet with smokes just keep him on shutdown the ranged twin duty while the rest of the team obliterates the melee one. Easiest way to get twins out of the way is to do it before the mission even starts. You are only going to pull more enemies if you advance. Usually twins comes with a horde in high Havoc anyways. Backing up around a corner also helps you isolate the melee twin since she can keep up with you while the other one walks around like Michael Myers.
Assuming you haven’t selected any talents or blessings that interact with perfect blocks… what if anything does a perfect block actually do differently than any other block?
Nothing. Unless the weapon itself has perfect block features like DC being able to perfect parry overheads.

Darktide's infamous memory leak is finally hitting my regular multiplayer group, and preventing my teammates from loading into missions. What are the usual fixes for this?

Disable Portrait Rendering: Darktide Settings --> Interface --> Enable Portrait Rendering --> Off. From what I have seen mostly an issue for Nvidia cards. You may also want to update your GPU driver if outdated. From there, you can also navigate to the folder %appdata%/Fatshark/Darktide then locate and delete http_cache and shader_cache.hans files. Darktide will recompile shaders when you restart. They have a tendency to balloon over time with patches. Usually shader_cache.hans is less than 120,000 KB but can get to 1/2 GB or more.
Vraks V Infantry Autogun with DumDum and Fire Frenzy is good for spray and pray damage from close to mid range. You may want to swap out Fire Frenzy depending on how you use the weapon but those should work well with Desperado. Be sure to get reload speed from the talent tree where able to keep up the pressure. Perks is somewhat personal preference but you could do +25% Maniacs and either +5% Crit or +25% Flak depending on your other build choices with regard to crit chance.

I haven't played a whole of Auric yet (cause I usually play after work blasted out of my gord) but in damnation I feel like I don't see many bosses outside of the scripted ones like on the train or that specific mission with the twins

No, those two missions specifically are not part of the campaign. I got lucky and saw Smelter Complex on the mission board after posting here and got that done. Then Power Matrix popped up as the maelstrom but the modifier was lights out so I couldn’t get it. Plus the randoms were just plowing through it. Maybe tomorrow!

Havoc 1-10 is basically Malice with some modifiers. 11-20 is Heresy and your stats start to diminish and more modifiers. 21-30 is Damnation but now Emperor's Fading light will always be nerfing your toughness grace period so enemies can do HP damage with ranged the second it is gone and melee enemies like crushers can corrupt your health and eventually do so much damage they one shot you with full toughness. Havoc 31-40 is more of all of the above but still limited to 3-4 modifiers like it is at H21 or so.

no, in aurics crushers get you downed and teammated can revive you, in havocs crushers literally kill you with full health and full wounds because of corruption damage added to their melee attacks

If you have full toughness a melee hit will not touch your HP normally. However, even a single point missing from a stray bullet will let a crusher overhead wipe you with a squishy class in normal Damnation. The difference in higher Havoc is even with full toughness a Crusher will hit you so hard that he deletes all your HP and corrupts it (purple HP) so even with multiple wounds you will still be dead (not downed) with no hope of being revived.
The expense to upgrade is counterproductive. If you have a blue or higher rarity to sacrifice it will give you a bit more XP. The difference between green and orange is not even double XP though. So just buy grey from Brunt, upgrade to green and sacrifice if you have resources to burn for weapon mastery.

trappers are very weak to stagger, if you are happen to be close to them - just push or hit or shoot them

mosty the team splits up when i clear my stuff (crushers and trash together) and i rarely have time to take a look where everyone is so is it my fault? i may have to get better

depends on many factors really, like are you killing crushers and trash behind the team or in front? are there more enemies in front of the team while you are dealing with stuff behind?
also in auric you don't need to hang around and kill every single trash mob, just kill elites/specials and most of the trash and move on, if you hang around to kill everything it's likely you'll lag behind
usually i play hybrids since if i play a support i get left alone. mostly i get overwhelmed even as dps dude clear out stuff and i dunno, its weird : s
on auric i try mostly that i get close to my team but if i get like 4 hounds, 3 trapper and 6 bomber mixes i need some short breath - mostly if i take care of that obsticles i get ironicly attacked by a horde direcly from the fron (where the team should be) im also a solo-joiner (no strike team) so i must do something wrong
when fighting do you usually try to hold a position (a chokepoint for example) or by moving around? on auric maelstrom especially you generally want to be always on the move since the director will keep throwing specials at you
try to take a step back from the fight, look around for a sec to see where your team is and get closer if you're far
if you get separated the director likes to send trappers and dogs
i usually let them get ground and dash to side/back (depends what comes up on disablers) so maybe i get too much focused on the specials and llet too much time pass to get rid of them

also i cant handle the situation when someone is downed, i usally go all in (controlled) which is a stupuid idea.
in those situations you want to clear enemies first, specials and elites most importantly
you have quite a bit of time to rescue them if there isnt anything actively hitting them while downed

hey guys - i downloaded some mods like show healthbars, automatic left click , and i have a problem in that ocassionaly those mods will stop to work for like 10-30 seconds, then work again - why is this happening? and is there a fix?

asking this because I just genuinely do not remember the answer, does curio rank matter? for me it annoys me cause I have 2 toughness curios, both at 16% but one is at 380 and the other is 390, those rank numbers do not affect anything do they?
unless its been changed recently the only curio rank that matters is for stamina in which any +3 at 400 or below is actually a +2 ingame

The playerbase is filled with many mindless players at the moment between sales bringing in new people and pending updates keeping away the veterans waiting for new content. General ways to combat selfish players with no sense of teamwork who chase the next enemy and often lead others to chase them is to bring a stealth ult to lose aggro and allow yourself to reposition when needed. You can abuse this by swarming other players with everything that was chasing you so take care not to become the problem yourself. Once you learn how to move you can begin to navigate mid-fight between attacking/blocking and dodge to create space to dash to the team more often. Expect to be left for dead by randoms because anything that's threatening to kill you doesn't exist in their mind until it comes for them after you are dead.
Curio rating only affects the primary stat of the trinket (stamina, toughness, etc). You may want as much as you can get but max is 17% Toughness, 21% HP, 3 Stamina, 1 Wound so you often are missing very little and can still modify the 3 perks on bottom any way you like after fully consecrating the curio.
ah that part I knew I am just trying to make new-ish builds as I took a break for a while and coming back a lot of my old builds got wiped so had to hunt for Curios again and could not remember if that number really mattered or not.
got 1 17% and 2 16% relics so 1 outta 3 not bad, just gonna annoy me if I get another 17% one and its at a weird number.

If you happen to farm 100K Ingots (weekly bounty currency) you can blow it on stacks of RNG curios from Sire Melk and usually end up with a workable collection of them. Since Ingots serve no other major purpose in the current build of the game you can safely spam them on curios even 5-10K at a time but save some on the off chance a decent one ends up in the daily shop at Sire Melk in the meantime.

Is No Man's Land genuinely a difficult mission, or am I just having really bad luck with it?
I've been trying to clear it on Auric Hi-STG for a long time with either of my psyker or vet, neither of which are particularly weird builds (as a general thing, I can hold my own in Auric), but I've had failure after failure on NML, and my scoreboards don't seem to indicate that I'm being particularly sucky in any category. I'm not taking large amounts of damage, I'm dealing plenty, I'm taking out a fair share of the elites and specials, I'm regularly rescuing other players (particularly with the Vet, where I'm currently running the recently buffed Only in Death does Duty End, and can shout them back into action).
But this specific mission repeatedly eludes me. (Done it on Hi-Auric, just not with STG too).

A bit of a mix.
I'd say that most often it's one of the shelled fields or soon after getting through the gate of the Folly. The cluster of bridges after the first med station isn't uncommon though.
These are admittedly relatively high risk areas.
The fields force you to pick between either not having much cover against ranged enemies, or getting stuck in the craters if you get swarmed by melee enemies; storming the gate also forces you to commit to an area with little cover.
The bridges... when that happens, it tends to be more because the top room is a fairly common area for a boss to spawn, and if you're not really on top of specials, you can end up with very little space to play with.
Open areas with gunners are a threat most groups failed to operate in due to a lack of threat prioritization and seeking cover or making it. Untaggable gunmen have become a greater threat over time due to seeking cover themselves and focusing a single teammate so their toughness is chipped until they identify and eliminate the threat since randoms recognize zero of the bullets not aimed at them especially when the threat can't be highlighted. An anti-ranged build who is properly protected by the team will most likely make short work of many of the trouble spots in No Man's Land.
Both of these builds are reasonable at taking out shooters, although not ultra-specialised at it... but I'll bear it in mind as a thought for future runs.
(I used to run a Vet build with the Mk7 Vigilant Autogun, which was pretty solid at taking out shooters, but shifted away from it because the Zarona is better at being able to quickly splatter specials).
On Auric anything can work so don't feel you have to change your build. The coordination of the team is still likely the biggest missing factor. If 3 people die in a an open field on Auric by running into gunfire it doesn't matter how good your build is at anti-ranged you now have to rez the careless or solo Auric to the next rescue point.
Does the Ogryn Rumbler cause any suppression to enemies or just stagger?
I'm seeing Rumbler builds using the Coward Culling aura but I don't really understand why
... that said, I went back to my old Vigilant build, and just cleared the thing first time, and I didn't even feel it was a particularly brilliant team (decent, but not great).
(Although it did remind me that part of the reason I changed from that build was the introduction of Plasma Gunners. Danged carapace "weakspots" on a ranged enemy are really unhelpful for the Ghost blessing).
I can't categorically see why my revolver build shouldn't be able to do it, but I will admit that the Vigilant has the advantage of being able to walk out into the open, go "LOOK AT ME, I'M A MASSIVE TARGET!!", then tank the entirety of the enemy gunfire as you're shooting their heads off.
I'll give the other builds another shot some other time, with a focus on trying to make sure to keep the shooters in check.
But this at least convinces me that I'm not completely incompetent.
(Although interestingly this time I did end up at the bottom of the rankings on damage dealt).

Damage doesnt necessarily mean impact. If you’re smoking high value targets throughout the run, that’s more important.

question about melee. on the Assault Chainsword the light attack icon shows a swinging sword while the heavy attack icon shows a strike? icon. does this mean my light attacks cleave better or something
I believe the explosion can suppress enemies who don't die in the explosion radius but it is likely safe to swap to another aura. Keeping the Suppression aura saves points if the builds you are looking at branch out elsewhere.
Most enemies with Carapace heads have a weakpoint between their legs you can exploit which is still considered Flak. Plasma Gunners included. Crushers are an exception.
The sniping revolver has too few shots and is too slow to reload for hordes of gunmen. The fan the hammer revolver has trash damage beyond mid-range.
Damage dealt is a trash concept because it factors in overkill damage and is biased towards horde and tank-elite clear players. If you are eliminating major threats like specials/gunners you will never be highest damage. It does not mean you were not a major contributor to victory ultimately. The HP just doesn't correlate.
Yeah, I think a lot of it comes down to that build being able to drop any human sized enemy except a rager or carapace helmet in a single headshot, so once you start focusing on regular shooters (and you still want headshots to keep Ghost procced), a metric butt-tonne of your damage goes into overkill.
There are several different attack patterns. Strikedowns are heavy damage low cleave, usually up/down swings. Relentless is high cleave low damage usually side to side swings. Vanguard is usually diagonal and a mix between the aforementioned. Then there are Stab attacks which are like Strikedown but pointy and may have better armor penetration. There are also some weapon special attacks that are kind of high impact/stagger stab-like attacks.

Until you meet a horde of Crushers. Usually you want a bit of a mix like Relentless light attacks with a strikedown heavy attack to give you options against multiple enemy types.
I don't mean specifically that "the revolver should be able to keep every shooter dead" (although I do run the larger mag size talent and the weapon specialist reload node, which does a lot to offset the Zarona's poor capacity) - obviously the Vigilant is so much better at that - but "It's not just me being entirely useless, so in theory the revolver build should be able to clear that mission".
Revolver is a good weapon. The current (and perhaps perpetual) problem with randoms is the revolver does a good job against the types of enemies randoms chase anyways. Revolver can be a problem solver so long as your build gives you ways to react to the enemies it does not excel at. Smoke grenades or stealth ult can give you breathing room against gunmen to close the gap. Gunners die to melee just fine provided they don't shoot you to death first 😛
I think with Ghost you just want weakpoint hits which means if you shoot them in the crotch and trigger the weakpoint (orange reticle highlight) it should still proc Ghost. Not positive but I am pretty sure.

Not at all. That's two more shots before you have to start reloading, and can increase the number of rounds loaded if you have multiple stacks. This is quite significant as far as how often you have to break to reload in combat.

Every time I ever do that, I get someone dissecting the entire build, telling me it's absolutely rubbish and how can I possibly play with this, I might as well just throw myself off a ledge, uninstall the game, and save the rest of the team the burden of playing with me.
These are builds that have served me fine in basically every other mission, including Maelstroms (I've never got into Havoc, because I'm often playing at night and can't be on voice without disturbing other people in the house). The question was specifically about what it might have been about one specific mission that was proving a challenge.

Okay, I'm perhaps being a bit dramatic about what people have told me to do (although to listen to some people they have acted like I'm practically trying to throw the game and sabotage the team).
I'm just the kind of person who likes exploring things myself and I'm not hugely into looking up meta builds. (Although I do like guides that actually explain the actual mechanics of the nodes, rather than having to try to guess from Fatshark's frequently terrible descriptions. Ogryn "Steady Grip" was a particularly awful example, where the terminology is completely wrong).

I'm sure the build I eventually used to get through the mission would horrify people.
Yeah, I know what it does now, but the way it's worded implies that it's a multiplier for other regeneration, rather than a source of it itself.
(Ultimately, the marksman build I used stacks about all the toughness regen nodes I can get my hands on and Born Leader. It's almost certainly not a top-tier build, but I've levelled everything other than Scum now, and I know that recovering toughness in a purely ranged fight can be difficult for some builds, so... toughness for everyone, I guess.)
It was made as a "I'm fed up of getting chewed up from a distance" build, and I should really have thought about it before.
Although at some times it has just made things even more frustrating.
I do remember one game in the Arena at the end of Merchantile HL-70-04 where the rest of the team was armed entirely with things like shotguns and autopistols.
And there was a certain lack of teamwork.

In that I had a rifle that could absolutely nail the gunners on the other side of the arena, and things would have gone a fair bit smoother if they'd spent less time taking potshots themselves, and more time focusing on clearing up the melee.
(I know the Vigilant isn't considered particularly top tier, but I like it).

You can skip the swap animation with throwing knife
You can use the stealth ult on zealot to alleviate the weapon wield time. Then use the auto-fire to delete hordes of maulers, crushers, etc. It used to work better with a ranged damage buff +40% from behind the enemy for boss damage. These days most zealots don't resort to boltgun. It is a better fit for Vet whose stealth is long enough to mask the boltgun reload and stack ranged damage from the tree with stealth ult x 2 to kill monsters with autofire LMB. Vet can also use executioners stance to whip out boltgun and start sniping to kill almost anything in one shot/headshot. It is a clunky weapon though.

Numeric UI, True Level, For the Emperor, Chat Block are some good fundamentals but there's tons of other QoL mods that are too numerous to count
filter mods by endorsements and scroll through to find stuff that interests you, can always try stuff out, tweak settings, or just uninstall if they're not to your liking
numeric ui is useless, why even do you need knowing exact ammo count of your teammates, default yellow-orange-red indications are enough
the less useless info on your screen - the better

Seasons in Havoc are around 3 months, changing with each quarterly game update. We will receive information regarding the upcoming update next week and it will be implemented around mid-June more or less.
I think it’s still fine to use after the change.

Have you already closed Darktide and relaunched the game? Could be the servers need to sync up to give you the actual option to unlock that zone. Had a few friends with that issue and I'm pretty sure that is what they did to get it to work. In the meantime, you can run the community zone in the bottom right which has 5 regions to explore albeit with more modifiers than Zeta.
As far as I know this is a new Discord policy. They have been making several changes over the past year or so. I don't know of any workaround to date.
Naw, them being locked is Fatshark. They are always locked in private mode. Only quickplay is unlocked in private mode atm.

Hello, Regarding out of memory crashes, I use vortex, ive tried to increase the heap size, but it wont take. I crash after ~4 games by exhausting 1024.
Is there a trick to getting the 2048 setting to stick?
Yes. Unless a patch bricks something. So far as I have seen penances are all earnable in expeditions for now though.
Add --lua-heap-mb-size 2048 to the Steam launch options and it should work every time. Check for outdated mods as that is the most likely source of a rapid memory leak in my experience and disable or update them if possible. How do you confirm that the setting was accepted and the heap size has increased?
Ive used that setting and it still OOMs at 1024.
The log cites the heap size on crash only and I cant seem to find a way to get it to return the heap size without a crash.
I'm wondering if vortex is playing a role. Perhaps it uses different launch settings.

My textures were getting worse and worse. I posted in this thread above demonstrating the very slow load in of the high resolution textures with DLSS or FSR on. I managed to fix the issue mostly after my thread and this post here 1.5.4 breaks overlays - #9 by styky but alas the low quality textures have returned, and the only way to abate the...
Look for the post near the bottom by styky for the folder address and what to look for in the .ini file. This should also noticeably improve god rays/fog LOD but primarily will eliminate texture streaming from bloating the memory cache.
If you are crashing in 4 games you will only be getting to ~8 games by doubling the cache theoretically. I still recommend limiting/eliminating potential sources of memory leak over just giving them more room to grow in the long run. These steps include first and foremost: eliminating outdated mods or updating them. After that, deleting and recompiling shader cache, updating GPU driver, verifying file integrity. Possibly reducing worker thread count in the launcher as the last thing I can think of.
OK, I'll take a look. I verified, GPU is up to date. 8 games would be amazing, I rarely play more than 4 or so, but it crashes around then. If they are longer havocs, its less games. Im pretty sure if I could double the heap id be set. I'll check the command line you suggested

And do the coherency passives matter enough to coordinate for builds? Or just some small extra value?
I imagine as long as there’s some cc, some defensives, and everyone is capable of dealing with hordes and bosses, we should be relatively fine?

Long story short and not to be rude, the average play depends heavily on using the strongest builds/weapons while also standing on top of each other because they aren't fit to solo. It's how the game evolved. But skill carries this game so much more then build/team comp, so all critique depends on your skill level. There is no "meta" is what works best for the situation since darktide has way way too many variables. Coherency regen has use but depending on which talent/perk it varies in uptime and usefulness.
Even havoc 40 is possible to true solo with enough skill

Both will matter, being able to carry your own weights is a baseline requirement, and team comp & synergies will also help
Did you finish a game in order to have a crate to obtain? You have to talk to Dukane every week to be eligible to play after Sunday reset. You may also want to check to see if the the Havoc terminal has you locked in a previously played game. If so it should show you a list of players it believes you are in a game with and won't start until those players are present. You can clear this by pressing/holding the demote button (it should read in the bottom right as "clear previous Havoc mission" if so. If it just says demote don't press it. Afterwards it should resume being the demote button and you should be able to join games again. It may also be someone else on the team who has not spoken to Dukane yet.
Hey quick question! I cannot for the life of me complete the penance “Blessed by Fate” if anyone has any tips that would be awesome! I’ve tried so many different things and I’m still just stuck at 4/50. Is it bugged?
Can't say if the penance is currently broken or not but what you need to do is overheat yourself with a staff, blitz ability or force sword weapon special and then save yourself with either the Venting Shriek ult or Scrier's Gaze ult to lose overheat and not blow up [the penance may require venting shriek since that is the ult the penance was based on originally iirc]. Scrier's ult cooldown is shorter. You will know you are overheating when you drop your weapon, start holding your hands out in front of you and moving slower. This is the time to activate the ult for Blessed by Fate.
Possibly the penance requires Psykinetic's Wrath which is the unupgraded version of Venting Shriek. To use this you need to not choose an ult in order to have the base version in the worst case scenario but I think Venting Shriek should work even if Scrier's doesn't.

What is the best Arbites weapon for horde clear?
arbi maul, arbi shield+maul, crusher maul, exterminator shotgun

yeah I was wondering more for melee. Exterminator definitely great but the ammo. I feel like with the shield and maul I'm not carving through hordes very well

can do push attack + heavy then repeat

also taking cleave on push is not super necessary i would say
if your build leans toward right side then why not

For Voltaic Mandibles which causes the dog to electrocute enemies, does the dog get a damage boost from the HIgh Voltage blessing on weapons?
I want the dog to be able to kill stuff but right now the only talent buff I am giving it is Voltaic Mandibles. I'm not giving it the bleed, brittleness or one of the Keystones
Play malice then, dog should kill.
Dog got nerfed to be more a pinning thing or chase things running away and disable them.
The mastiff itself doesn't benefit from it as far as I can tell, but the damage dealt by it with Voltaic Mandibles DoT should increase if you have a weapon with High Voltage out
I believe high voltage does increase the damage of the electrocution dot from voltaic mandibles, but not the dog's damage
And only when the weapon with high voltage is being wielded

So Voltaic Mandibles plus High Voltage might be enough to ensure the dog is killing enough elites and specialists to keep up talents that give buffs on elites and specialist kills
It has always been enough to kill. The real issue is ksing teammates.
Because when it takes 3 secs to kill, someone just shooting it denies you of the buff.
And people tend to shoot easy targets.
Execution Order/left bottom keystone can also help, and it's generally a solid choice even without the mastiff

I just go by the heuristic that I'd never want to build mastiff damage without EO keystone

Why I joked about playing malice. You simply do not treat dog as damage outside of stacking and EO.
Just long range CC or to chase targets rounding corners a distance away.
Main use for keeping it is it allows for mistakes soloing CSpawns. If you get grabbed, the dog will force a release.

Depends a bit on how you use the dog. With max buffs dog can murder any threat it can pounce even on Auric relatively quickly even after the nerfs. Dog will work a little faster if you aren't targeting enemies all over the map but if it pounces Ogryns, etc it will largely be a waste. If you are mostly sending dog after specials you want gone I would suggest adding bleed as well to speed up the time to kill but see how it works and adjust as needed.
I am right now not using the Brittleness or Bleed buffs because I am trying to direct it after enemies it can pounce on and kill such as specials and gunners. It sounds as if the bleed is only for enemies that are knocked away and Brittleness I imagine is for Crushers?

Brittleness will work on Flak, Unyielding or Carapace but mostly helps with big enemies like Crushers. The bleed will help with anything to die faster. The dog game boils down to how many points do you feel comfortable spending to keep the time to kill low enough to send the dog after something else sooner. If the dog is killing pounced enemies with electrocute only in a second or less then it doesn't matter. I suspect without bleed they will die in 3-5 seconds if elite/special is pounced unless you plan on assisting the kill. If memory serves the brittleness will also increase the size of the bleed DoTs on susceptible enemies.
I suggest reposting in the Vox-LFG channels below for your region(s). People do Havoc assists from time to time there. Often on the weekends. Keep scanning the vox-lfg. Gameplay-help channel is much less populated at least for now.

I've had disconnects happening to my group to a crazy degree lately, to the point that it kicks a friend out nonstop when he tries to reconnect. There's almost no chance it's a connection issue since his Discord comms are perfectly clear while Darktide is breaking. Is this a known issue with a solution?

The bleed applies to pounced on targets. Skipping it is just less damage done to the primary target. It's only nerfed in the, it only applies once now instead of twice like it used to.
Ive managed to double the Lua heap succesfully in vortex. You need to add a tool in the dash board. Target the launch executable and add the command we've discussed from the -- only. Steam confirms the setting. Ive confirmed the heap size by watching the heap exceed 1024 without crash. I can now run moded with no OOM crash for over 6 hours. . . I'll go touch grass now.

No the steam reviews are cry babies who can't handle when something that breaks the game's balance gets deservedly nerfed
People angy about nerfs. Arby is still the class that teaches you bad habits by being tanky in ways no other class can be. Scum is still the only class that can top a good psyker in damage if equally skilled.

The right number totals up to the same.

Depends on what is killing you. Toughness is better till havoc where hp can be valued higher depending.
Mostly because toughness is nerfed harder the higher you go.
For zealot I recommend HP given that the talent tree gives you a lot of solid ways to regen toughness including all of the ults and getting back to full toughness gives you protection from one melee hit which is quicker to obtain if your overall Toughness is smaller. It depends on how you build that class though and what you plan to have to take out yourself primarily (and how). Zealot is mostly a melee oriented with ideal ranged at close to mid range though it is possible to spec out of these guidelines to a degree. Once you know how to protect yourself and have a team dedicated to facilitating this goal you will find that extra HP/Toughness becomes more and more irrelevant. Sure can help with randoms and soloing however.

Wound zealot (bottom middle keystone) benefits greatly from 6-7 wounds. Holy Revenant shouldn't regen enough HP to make you lose stacks with 7 wounds. Wounds give you much more total HP than just adding HP curios but require getting revived by team members which can be trivial for them if they invest in revive speed and have a stealth ult in particular. Your goal is to play safe enough at low HP to not get hit again until you have Until Death/Holy Revenant to trigger.
yea, im running martyrdom, and i have 5 wounds on heresy, but i think i dont really need it that bad, if i happen to end up having 4 wounds eaten the team's probably going down anyway at that point

You get up to 5 stacks, so 6 wounds min to max out.

Dodge have very little iframes, is more about breaking enemy tracking.
Dodging keeps enemies from tracking you and that period is kind of like i-frames but you can still take damage like if standing in fire or hit by something that was aimed at someone else and you dodge into it (like a net).
oh so when a big ass hammer enemy overhead swings me, i should just fuck off from there, instead of iframing it like it's dark souls?
If you can, yes. Dodge to right or left.
Do not dodge back unless you are using knoife or DS.
A crusher overhead you want to wait until the hammer is starting to come down and dodge to the left or right so they can't track you as the overhead lands. Only backdash if you are far enough away to avoid the move entirely which has a large AoE.

Jump every so often to reset your effective dodge count otherwise too much dodge spam will give you worse dodging over time. There is an effective dodge counter below the stamina bar by default now.
For normal enemies and such, sure. Doing that against maulers and crushers is a bad idea.
I wish they'd add an in-game explanation to a lot of the stats listed on weapons. Would be nice to know what exactly 'mobility' and 'collateral' do. Or 'finesse'.
yeah i guess for crushers ill just try my best to circle them. against maulers since i use relic blade i just treat them like any other special and just swing faster than them

You can click Inspect in the upper right on the weapon in your inventory and hover over the stats for more detail about what things each stat affects.
Aim for body unless your melee has high finesse.
For maulers.
yeah with the relic blade since im using the one with the vanguard light attacks, i just spam leftclick and roughly aim for the neck
Several enemies in flak/carapace armor have a weakpoint in their crotch which you can exploit with guns even if melee is hard to swing and hit there. Crushers only have a weakpoint on backstab and around the neck (sides of the faceplate) though.

What about things like impact and suppression?
More so a stat you will need to keep track of in your head and monitor feedback from enemies in terms of how many hits to make them flinch or topple. There is a cap on both and I believe it goes above +100% but not much more than that. The stagger seems to be somewhat determined by the weapon you use or attack type as well. For example, dueling sword can stack Strength to stagger everything up to a Crusher but the mace and shield with Hammerblow can topple a Crusher on his back (quite quickly if you have bonus impact from the talent tree to reach the cap faster). Similarly, suppression tends to work better/faster with impact weapons (bullets > lasers) but a Veteran with talent tree suppression buffs can use almost anything to stop something shooting. You can suppress entire gunmen groups with bigger munitions though (like boltgun).
So I don't currently incorporate really any talents that work around Perfect Blocks in my builds.
I know the sound cue for when they proc, and so I do at least know I am doing some. But tbh I've always assumed that it's very high risk for mediocre reward - and likewise had reservations about how a sudden moment of latency could spell disaster.
Anyone have any experience running this playstyle, and is it particularly worth it?

I can't see optimization being a priority for Fatshark with regard to most things. It is already somewhat of a miracle that it runs on the deck at all. Perhaps cloud streaming will make it more feasible but I don't see that becoming mainstream anytime soon let alone becoming backwards compatible for Darktide on Tencent's dime, sadly.

is it a known bug for poxhounds to be running straight through walls? and how often should i expect it to happen because i think its happened a couple of times to me now with at least 1 time being 100% positive that it happened
Hounds through walls should be pretty rare. They may be going through doors that appear closed on your end however as there are enemies that have initiative to act immediately when the door open occurs often before the animation of the door opening takes place on your end. May be a new bug that has changed their behavior as well but I have not experienced this yet or you may have a high ping connection to a server which can make enemies do lots of weird things like flying.

You need to reach Convict status (time based) to post vids, etc. I think it is Red name but not positive. It was probably a door then. Many of the monster closets have doors that look a lot like walls but they will slide open to reveal a black room with monsters pouring out of them. Some enemies can leap through before the door open animation starts from time to time particularly if they are alone behind the door.
Pretty much. The bottom left keystone with +cleave helps and the weapon blessing to apply brittleness so you can deal damage to armor. Buff attack speed from the bottom left talent nodes as well. Might use heavy attack as an opener especially to apply more bleed stacks to start against bigger enemies but light attacks will finish everything off.

In that vid it could be a clipping issue with the room on the other side for that map in particular. It is also possible to see enemies "teleport in" if you are split from the group and it is sending an enemy at another player but they spawn in at/near your location. Usually they are out of sight but the game does just let the director spawn hordes/specials in out of visual range of the teammate being targeted.

Yeah the dog was still "out of sight" from where the team was upon loading in. If it spawned in the room behind you would never see it but the coding is optimized in such a way that you will catch enemies popping in out of thin air from time to time as you reposition. In particular they will do that from behind you with regard to map orientation.

I think the way it actually works is that the weapon still has the same amount of max stats as any other weapon, but the rounding error just makes it appear as if one only one stat is inflated. In reality the decimal values of the other stats will be lower to make up the same total pool of stats

Only deployable ammo crates or med stations count. Only 1 use per med station per teammate (they just have to touch it once) so just drop them in airlocks at the door opening when the rest of the team needs some HP.

Buy grey weapons at brunt and upgrade them to green before sacrificing for weapon XP. You can use higher tier weapons for more XP but the difference between green and orange is not even double. Make sure the weapon type matches the weapon you are upgrading for more XP as well.

Yeah. If you are starving for resources you may not want to spam purchase at Brunt just yet but the cost to upgrade to green is way more efficient than upgrading further will be. If you earn an orange from a mission you can sacrifice that as well it just costs too much to consecrate blue or higher in relation to XP earned.

And you will use twice as much plasteel just by upgrading to blue. You won't use any diamantine upgrading to green but combat mastery mostly burns through dockets and plasteel when farming. For quite a while plasteel has been the scarcest resource in the Darktide universe due to how often you need to spend it.
Don't forget to do a Havoc each week for a bundle of resources (whatever difficulty you can easily complete).

Assuming you have the keystone equipped and are killing enemies highlighted purple you should be getting the benefits of Execution Order. It is possible the buffs don't show up on screen by default unless you take the Keeping Protocol add-on which will show you stacks in the default unmodded buff pool. The basic Execution Order will just give you some toughness back after killed a marked enemy.

They will have a purple glow. Kind of like a tagged enemy can be red (or yellow if Vet has the Keystone for that). Will affect monstrosities, specials, elites. Triggers every several seconds and can have more than one highlighted purple. May trigger faster with other Arbites who have that keystone equipped.

Look for Maelstroms with the Dreg Only modifier. They are quite rare these days. Also, I believe some of the Campaign missions are majority Dreg or Majority Scab although I don't have them memorized. I know the desert maps tend to be at least 60% dreg generally.

yo I got a weird question. Why does the Tech Hunter (3) penance show a red chest piece and black one, but only gives you the black pair? Also there's the same thing for a red helmet and pants penances, all related to the Expeditions mode. Any ideas?
There were some errors regarding cosmetics around the launch of Expeditions. It is possible you are getting a sneak peak of red armor that will be released with "Tech Hunter 4 Obtain 500,000 remnants" down the road. Fatshark makes more cosmetics than they release in their games. Could be they have an image uploaded by mistake for armor we may never see. But expeditions will likely see more content over the next year at least in some form.
Yup, highly plausible. I see it because I have a mod, but I'm saying it's plausible due to me noticing the pattern you mentioned above. I've seen a red/blue relic blade in the shop, 1 month before the release, I've seen the same with a shovel, again blue/red... I'm more than willing to agree on that theory. Also, there seem to be 3 ogryn helmet variants that I've seen that are for the gold shop that have just been sitting there for quite a while and I honestly have no clue what that's about. You need to look for Havoc missions other people are posting to get credit for helping them in the penance. Any Havoc level will work. In Party Finder clear all search parameters with E (or equivalent console button detailed at bottom of Party FInder screen) Most of the results should be Havoc missions anyways.
how exactly does "current stamina" work? i have something that gives me +2 stamina, but the stamina "blocks" are still only at 4?

Ok check interface settings, there’s an option to display stamina as 4-segments always (easier to tell how much u have at a glance imo) but if u turn that off it’ll show ur actual current stamina segments
Your weapon has a default amount of stamina it will give you which varies by weapon. A knife can be a low as 2. A stamina curio will add the amount of stamina chunks listed to the overall stamina pool so if the default weapon gives you 5 stamina when equipped the total will be 7 and so on. There is a setting in Options --> Interface to display stamina in 25% increments or by individual chunks but the stamina will drain according to the overall stamina pool with either setting you just won't have countable stamina with the 25% version. Some characters have talent tree nodes to add stamina (like Veteran) as well.

It will take a while before you need to consider builds but zealot is a good starter class for melee. Veteran is more for the Call of Duty types. Can mix and match quite a bit. You can play anything up to Heresy with anything. Damnation and beyond it is best to have a leveled character but if you know how to play you can still hold your own while underleveled. Weapon stats don't increase by the percentage listed (for example 50% to 80% damage does not equal 30% more damage in-game but weapon stats 20% or lower will be quite a difference.
Do the events every month or so when they pop up. Run a Havoc at the highest level you can beat once each week. Other than that quickplay the highest difficulty you can safely complete or speedrun.

If you are level 30 you have talent tree nodes that can subvert most weapon power level issues so long as you focus on damage dealing nodes. Some weapons will provide bigger issues if they don't penetrate armor well.

Yeah that is two sources of subpar gear performance. Malice is a solid place to tool up and learn enemy spawn points, AI habits, etc. Heresy can get sticky especially with modifiers affecting the level.
I've been using malice quick play to farm mastery and mats
Tho I do think heresy is more fun than malice
Greatsword is slow enough that it can be hard to work with if it isn't killing things as quickly as it should. You may want something faster/more agile to keep pushing through Heresy until you hit level 30. Alternatively Malice is a solid place to keep growing. Don't forget to equip curios and consecrate them at least once so you can take the EXP boost perk to get to level 30 faster.
In hindsight, I should really get the farming perks on curios

Heresy definitely felt a lot more manageable after I got my mastery high enough for 300
I felt like a liability on my first attempt with 200ish gear and most of my dps was assail which I believe is flat dmg
More than half the playerbase is a liability between pulling too many enemies, splitting from the team to break coherency, ignoring ranged/specials not going after them, stealing resources, etc. I wouldn't worry about still learning and leveling even on Damnation. Good cooperation will take you farther than getting gear from 300-500 as a rule even if the skill ceiling lets many players practice true soloing with randoms. Leaning on blitz until the mainstay weapons catch up performance wise is a valid strat.

My Hive Scum might have done that, but it seemed to turn on and off when I was in cohearancy. And it would turn on and off when I entered and left cohearancy.
I don't remember entering any kind of stim ground thing but who knows.
Yeah that would go away after Stim supply wears off so probably not that.
I think I may have had that happen in a game of Expedition. Did you see what ults the team was using? Maybe a bug where the movement speed from Desperado applies to the team from Hive Scum (or Shroudfield from Zealot) in coherency?

Question about the Rumbler in Havoc play. I tend to see builds that either use Shattering Impact or Shrapnel. However, all seem to use Adhesive Charge. When I use the Rumbler, it seems like it is most effective in mixed hordes and I'm not sure if it worth a grenade to use on Reapers or Crushers or Monsters. Is the popularity of Adhesive Charge to stack Brittleness or Bleed on Monsters? Or am I missing something?
Adhesive charge is generally taken to ensure maximum damage to the primary target. It still has good mixed horde damage, and you get the benefit of one shotting reapers and bulwarks

Otherwise the damage to those targets has very high variance because of the unpredictability of the grenade bounce

depends a bit on what you are doing as well (side arm vs main weapon, like in a gunlugger build)
on gunlugger builds I usually dont even take adhesive
when rotten was around I would go about with shattering and blaze away and decimate everything
but if used as side arm in a taunt build for example, adhesive is good to make sure your shots land on priority stuff
as for shattering vs bleed, shattering can help your whole team since it gives brittleness to enemies with flak/cara/unyielding while bleed just helps with killing
theyre both valid just play around with it and see what you like
You replace the bot and quite often the bot has gotten himself wrecked by the time you join the match. Even then your stats are typically generous compared to the state of the bot so it may just revert to loading you in the state you would be at after a rescue (missing HP but no wounds and half ammo more or less) if you join shortly after the mission has started or beyond. There have been times where you can take damage upon loading in and enter the game downed as well.
Yeah maybe with the way I like to use it I should go with shattering and bleed. But definitely will make me less effective on monsters with the bounces. Probably useless on chaos spawn

How do I deal with the daemon host. He just slaps me or a teammate left and right, kidnaps us, and then leaves before I can count to 4.

there's a penance for killing your first DH, on the event maps DHs drop extra skulls, and what you're just gonna let a demon live you filthy heretic?
"drop extra skulls" these dont contribute to the number, the number goes up itself 
the number is arbitrary, yes. but it does drop extra skulls regardless of what it does or doesn't do.
I will charge head first into every DH now even if it costs the mission

yes the base shots have bigger dmg but the special fire ammo is weird

Slow-down / lag aside from players taking damage before they fully load in & can move -- was it never a design consideration for, quickplay players to join with full health?
You may need to see how leaver/rejoiners have abused such systems to consider the compromise that is the current arrangement.
Shotguns are solid on Vet with the right talent points and blessings for killing anything up to specials and minor elites in 1-2 shots. You want to focus hordes with the fire bullet one and headshots with the slugshot one (which synergizes well with Vet talent tree). The lawbringer is nice if you want to avoid weapon special altogether and just double tap threats with weapon specialist to help you reload. On Zealot the double barrel has some great uses (practically a sniper rifle with the -75% spread on dodge + run and gun blessing). Crit builds with cleave and bleed on crit blessings is also good.
Mixed horde clear with cleave + bleed on crit assuming you can raise your crit chance pretty high (40% or more).
Block cost reduction and high stamina can help you kite an aggroed DH once you learn when you can counterhit between the 2-4 hit combos. A team with good CC (chorus zealot/shout ults) and high boss damage can make short work of DH. You still take corruption from fighting them and they don't give you anything for doing so outside of penances and maybe an event down the road so consider them a punishment for carelessness most of the time and a griefer's wet dream.
If you are going to solo bosses with ranged I would take bleed and adhesive. If you have solid teamwork and plan to engage monstrosities with ranged I would take shatter and adhesive. If you mostly want to keep mixed hordes locked down you can consider bleed + shatter. If you have a gunner ult Ogryn the fire damage alone is solid DoT and I believe Shatter buffs it on appicable targets. Learning floor nade tech can help you avoid the need for adhesive but I don't know if the loss of +15% damage to monstrosities is made up for by the less consistent potential DPS increase of bleed + shatter until you are a pro at predicting where monstrosities will be upon detonation.
I mean, extended fire immunity might be nice. It's most unfun to spawn in on fire and go down because it was an awfully placed one for even the best dodge to get out of. And this assumes godlike reflexes.
Which, if you expect from even just 50% of players is fairly ridiculous.
It could certainly be different. Like many things in Darktide, "it works".
