Second time my entire team died in campain IV. Sometimes there are heavy units than nobody seems to be able to kill and the boss gets shield of out nowhere
It's fine to lower the difficulty or skip that mission if you need. The game is balanced around players knowing most of the fight mechanics and having high/max gear and player level
But where do I learn the mechanics? Let's say how the boss works and so on

the game doesn't teach you that much tbh
while being a veteran/zealot guide, it also teaches you a lot of basics if you wanted to learn more

I can dash left, right and back, right? And it's 2 to 4 charges that seem to reset when they run out complelty. What's the benefit of never letting it run out, they seem to recharge quickly anyway

There was a mechaic in the proloque, I block and hold attack and it does an animation out of the block. Does that work for all melees?
that's a push attack and yes
it's often used to start combos on various weapons as well
or has some very good qualities that normal attacks don't
And combos, currently I'm just making some up while I fight. Light here, heavy there ... is there actually a mechanic behind it where I have to hit certain predefined light/heavy attacks?
there are weapon attack flow charts that show how attacks can flow in to each other
but you generally just need to know what combos are good to use on a certain weapon for either single or multi target
I'm using the dueling sword, not sure if it's good, I got one for free. I googled combos for it and they talk about special attacks, what's that?
all weapons have a special attack/function, I don't remember what button you use as I've rebind it
but dueling sword in particular has a parry attack
which can negate an attack towards you and hit them back with a special attack that is called parry
it doesn't reflect damage or anything, it's just a really good attack that is particularly strong against ragers
but it costs stamina on successful use and leaves you unable to use other attacks while readying said parry attack

What do you mean by better weaponry?
Shields are on at start of any captain fight and they regen after dealing a certain amount of damage or on a timer. Light, rapid hits generally break a shield faster than heavy hits. The shock maul weapon special attack is very good at popping shields assuming the boss is not attacking you. The twins mission is better to come back to in the story campaign after you have reached max level and are upgrading some weapons to customize for the encounter. You can google build recommendations for your character or watch youtube videos depicting the part that is giving you trouble to start committing animations to memory.
You can also jump to reset dodge counter. The more you spam dodge the shorter and less useful it will become when you run out of effective dodges.
With these Special Events is there something to track or some sort of target you can hit for a reward? Where do you view it?
Hold Tab and Press E to cycle through your Weekly Challenges, Event Rewards and Penance tracker (if any are tracked). They will appear on the right hand side of the screen while holding Tab.

I'm fairly new to Darktide but I've started dipping my toes into the endgame stuff... Theres a penance/reward for something along the lines of "help others complete their auric missions" ... What exactly does this mean?

there's flamethrower (inferno), lightning (electrokinetic) , bowling ball (voidstrike) , exploding floor (voidblast) staff couple of those have their own unique blessing
try aim down sight while firing on each staff

well marks of a weapon all share the same blessings
different weapons don't have to
so each staff is basically too unique to be different marks of each other
it's not something you need to know in advance, but you can look up all weapons and see which have different marks or not

I think it also helps that most if not all weapons that have different marks have Roman numerals somewhere in their names.
This somewhat implies different marks/variants of whatever weapon you are viewing exist.

Depends on the maelstrom, some give about 10k xp which is basically an auric HISTG mission without quickplay bonus
But others give way more, some up to 23k xp
Modifiers with pox gas give the most xp followed by monstrous specials (the ones with "I-II" in them)

havoc difficulty feels so inconsistent cause ive had a clearance 30 that just dumped bosses in the first 5 minutes

Error Code: 2002 Connectivity problem He restarted his router, verify the files, uninstalled/reinstalled the game and deleted the cache and still having issues.
let me double check online, IIRC sometimes it can be your wifi or other times darktide servers sometimes explodes without warning

We did everything, it’s just the server at this point, we even ported and ran it as administrator. Nothing. Hope they can fix it for my bud, he really enjoys purging heretics. Thank you again for the updated again.

Legit I hate it when the Server explodes While I'm penance farming

I don't know if it's a good mechanic but I sometimes dodge and then slide out of it. So I tried to bind both dodge and crouch to space and for some reason I'm not longer able to slide out of a dodge
dodge have limit, if you keep spamming it you get less distance
normal dodge only consume 1 dodge
dodge + crouch = dodge slide (consume 2 dodge)
Yeah but if both are bound to space it never turns into a dodge slide for some reason

If you're on PC, Better Movement on nexus mods is convenient
It's the range of sound loudness. Dynamic highs makes it harder to hear softer sounds but louder ones are more 'realistically' loud. Dynamic low is the equiv to sneak steps being as loud as a frag bomb.
They are close on the range to make it easier to hear certain things.
Default is inbetween both. Nightmode is dynamic low but quieter.
@crude barn Hey man, you helped me out with some havoc 25s a little while back; I was wondering about your voidblast support staff, how'd that work out for you again?
Electro's been doing good work, moreso on the rotten armor missions but inferno just aint kickin up what it needs to; never really gave the voidblast any credit

the cleave on voidstrike even with surge isnt great, it definitely locks you into specialist/elite hunter rather than hordeclear like it does in auric and below

if you pair voidstrike with scrier
it allows your crit chance to be really high so you can fire out 2 balls at all times which allows you to clear horde effectively

but at the same time, like you said, it is very good at killing specials as well, voidstrike just take a little finesse to use since i agree with you that it's not the best to clear horde but it's good once you get used to it

4 poxwalkers per ball is not something i would call horde clear, but it could always be worse, like chain axe
Scrier's Gaze isn't even that bad once I tried using it myself for penances
Only real upside to shriek is more soulblaze and stagger
it'd be the whole horde if they line up since it'd be 2 balls hitting crit, of course you gotta aim for head shots and crit chance take some time to build up
Just got to Havoc 30+ for the first time. Any videos or tips on how to not get blown away by gunners? My team basically all were downed by gunners in like 5-10 seconds on an open bridge, shooting from the rafters as well.
play smokes
look for cover, main thing. if you need to pull back to get cover, do so. if you break line of sight, the gunners will come to you, which depending on environment can make them come into melee distance
Does coordinating with teammates become essential or can you still get away with no voice? I sort of see people repositioning and falling back based on feel and just copy them at the moment as I sort of get used to the rhythm
Was sort of surprised we could get past 30 without voice coordination but immediately dumpstered at 31 it seemed
Not really - for me, Havoc 30-40 has been a lot of gut feeling
Having VC co-ordination is helpful, sure, but once you understand your role on the team and get better with positioning, it all just kind of clicks
That being said, I do find with random queuing, I have to put a lot of trust into the team to know when to fall back or push ahead, you still end up babysitting from time to time

You won't need teammates to coordinate smoke placement if you throw them based on the map geometry and enemy position. Placing smokes at chokepoints or adjacent to naturally placed walls gives the team somewhere to gather and duck into cover should your smoke run out before you have placed another with enemies still around. Your team can do what they want so long as they can keep themselves alive and you will provide additional means of staying safe which they can utilize or not. Smokes are best saved for gunners including tossing one at or between you and the twin who shoots and drops mines (which he won't do with smoke blocking his vision). In the event of Rotten Armor you may be better off with Kraks but this will leave you with fewer places to hide from stray gunfire which may be more prevalent if the team isn't seeking out ranged enemies you can't ping. Be careful when throwing smokes in dark areas of the map as some people's gamma settings will make it very hard to see with both the smoke and darkness.
I have a feeling I'll throw smoke and no one will utilize it unless we are coordinating a bit. I think I understand the utility although not how all enemy types respond to the smoke.
Think of it as invisibility from things that shoot if the smoke is between you and them. It will also prevent things that want to trap you if you are inside it. It is a free wall to avoid getting shot more often than not.
Sort of a poor man's shield?
Maybe more like a bubble shield with fewer perks but way more potential uptime.

People usually say no. You won't really need that unless you can't move at all.
Does havoc assignment rank ever decay naturally? Like if I don't rank up in a week will I go down or retain my ranking?
With all the grenade buffs I almost never find myself without a smoke to throw so you could probably save yourself a point or two. While often more time than you need, 100% duration is very good at providing sustained cover in the event that the group needs to prioritize melee before picking off the ranged in H30+ at least. I also like duration for twins in Havoc because it can shutdown the ranged twin for the entire fight in 1-2 smokes leaving you free to focus the melee twin. With duration I feel like I'm halfway to my next 60 sec smoke nade cooldown before it clears but haven't timed it. You can almost always fall back to use the map for cover or find that Ogryn who rushes gunners down to keep them from firing on your position. Lone gunners flanking your position seems to be more of a threat this season of Havoc and I have seen patrols of gunmen from behind that will advance through a lot of the map to flank you recently.
If you are playing a match of Havoc it will retain your Havoc rank until the season reset (every ~3 months) drops you to the nearest 10th rank below where you were. You don't need to win the match just play so if you are Havoc 20 just join a Havoc 3 and it will hold your rank. Otherwise, if you skip Havoc for one week it should demote you 1 rank. The safest way to play is to give yourself 2 attempts per week at your current Havoc level or above to try to rank up. If they fail you can just wait until the weekly reset to try again with renewed attempts and no demotion.
If you don't play for a week, it'll go down by 1 rank. Win/lose, doesn't matter. Just need to play a havoc game.
This is excluding seasonal resets which happens every 3~ months.
Earning assignment rank 40 means you do not lose rank from losses anymore, but heard you can still decay from idling.

I swear, too many Auric Maelstorm players only got good at somewhat speedrunning. Because the amount of times I've had an amazing run and then they act like absolute morons the moment an objective is infront of them is astounding.

I've been away for the game for some time. I know a lot of balancing happen and I just want to ask if I am starting over what class would be the most newbie friendly to play with? and what build can I go with it?
Simple is usually arby, but may teach bad habits. Zealot still easiest to just pick up and go, though may feel meh.

Coming from Vermintide 2 and having a hard time getting locked into a class. I primarily favored Ranger Veteran Bardin using Cog hammer and Masterwork Pistol, using his special to get under monsters and blast with the pistol, or use it to res teammates. Is there a class / weapons you might recommend?

How should Slogryn deal with Ragers in melee?
Chain between melee hits and pushes
Closest to Ranger Vet Bardin is a short Veteran with inviso ult. Similar weapons might be force sword and revolver variant of your choice but you may want to experiment.
They just feel slow. Pushing doesn't break their attack animation though does it?
It is difficult to break a rager during their attack string. You can take the +250% stagger on push to at least knock them on the floor between their combos. Often it is helpful to rely on the extended reach of the Ogryn to try to hit them at a range that the rager is unable to hit you back. It can be difficult to maintain this distance particularly the larger the rager horde is. I believe the shout ult will stagger ragers mid-combo and the dash ult definitely will. With gunner ult you just blow them away while backdashing.
I am annoyed at the fact that for the run 50 missions in Interzone void penance I can only do clandestum Gloriana. -_-
You can always break up the monotony by trading 100K salvage in expeditions. Or work on getting 2500 explosive barrel kills when you run Gloriana as there are a lot of explosives in that map.

No it only quickplays you into your selected difficulty
thanks, i thought so. I recently installed scoreui mod to track my performance (or lack of it) and noticed that it shows difficulty as “Damnation”
never heard of that mod but it probably has to do with the change they did to difficulties (they removed sedition, which was old lowest difficulty, and made uprising the new lowest while making Auric a new difficulty)

Base crit chance is 5% for all weapons iirc

Weapon switching requires multiple button presses for the game to register. My ability can have the same problem while other times I only need to press once, but the ability does not activate until 3 seconds have passed.

There's a mod for it but some ppl say, issue so bad, it's not working well.

Best 'counter' is to 'nade them back, but those are either limited or on a delay.

Hey so I’m brand new to this game and want to have access to all the dope weapons and future builds, is there a fast way to level up from the start?
Win on the highest difficulty you have unlocked using Quickplay and modify any curios you unlock and slot with the +EXP perk. By the time you get to +50% EXP from all those sources you will be gaining a level per mission clear at least all the way to 30. Damnation difficulty gives similar XP to Auric so you may want to power level there since Auric is designed with leveled characters in mind. Bear in mind you have to level weapons as well to unlock blessings for them and fully empower each so get the one you want to use as early as you can even if you don't like the stats to pump XP into that weapon type. You will be starving for dockets, plasteel and diamantine for a while so hunt what you can in the maps. Additional characters may be easier to level since you can use resources to power level weapon XP once you have a surplus. Do the event as well as they have large resource rewards dispensed across 10 wins in the event missions. There is typically an event each month. Current event Nurgle's Might starts showing up on Heresy difficulty and above.
I forget, do the current event give more EXP than maelstrom?

am doing a clearance 23 there this inferno staff psyker that doesnt do inferno staff pysker things that died about 9 times already not to mention getting trapped about 5 times and he is havoc 40 and has that title, I am very confused
the low clearance guys are doing so much better than him, he keeps going the wrong direction or moving solo

they could've gotten H40 on any class
and are just a bad psyker

skill usually translates tho, like it's hard to be able to both clear H40 and die that badly in H23

It's usually any combination of uncanny Riposte and precognition on zealot

Most people who "just beat H40 once" did it as a zealot with survival perks and played around the team. Just because you brought your A-game to get a penance does not mean you will do so for others every time you play. Psyker is squishy and can trip people up if it is their first game back after some time. True level helps you at least see if they have some experience with the class but you have no idea how many of the levels they gained happened at launch/years ago.

the thing is just to be more discerning, at least while I am still climbing, I dont mind failing havoc runs as I am sure I still am far far from being a havoc 40 player, but also helps knowing how much weight i might have to pull while I am still at 28

this is why I dont play my 1st psyker much anymore. Some days I play well, other days I play like shit and feel embarrased.
If set to one, only 1 ragdoll can exist, everything else just vanishes instantly.
Setting to 0 crashes so IDK how Fatshark codes their clean up.

A friend here pulls the mobs that he can from up there downwards by shooting them before riding the elevator, certainly makes the fight up there a lot more manageable
takes a bit of patience tho when I play with randoms people dont wanna wait
That elevator in Dark Communion can be made easier but the poxbursters can actually jump you DURING THE CUTSCENE in the end event on that map. Best you can do is Chorus ult as zealot right before the door opens to try to soak the damage but it is rare and there is a med station right before the event.

Overlapping triggers and bad kiting/los
For example, vigil station after elevator is just a straight line with a lot of tickets and ambiance with like 3 boss triggers

They help with downed bots for sure. Watch them ignore a downed player even when everything was on me though. Like a, I don't need you two idiots helping me. Go pick up the other player while I kite the karkers.
This just happens nowadays. Got stuck in a horde spawned in the air above me and around me before. Stealth was the only reason I didn't get bs'd.
Yes*. Throwing knives, etc. Subject to change with a future patch perhaps but they have been counting. However, if something dies to bleed/DOT I believe it does not count for ranged/melee weeklies/penances. So shredder/chem nades may be an exception. Although flamer staff kills do count for ranged weekly.
Maybe 25-33% of normal HP give or take? They go down much faster.
Do taunts work on monstrosities?
Some ults do. Most (if not all) taunts do currently.

Play a map with bottomless pits in the beginning like Ascension Riser with a couple stamina curios and a force sword. Wait for a horde (may take 5-10 minutes after pushing into the map a bit then fall back to the pits at the start). Then use the push attack on force sword to get the kills after the horde piles up since the knockback on venting shriek sucks these days. Some block cost reduction may help as you wait for them to gather. Flame staff LMB may also be a decent option for stagger provided it isn't killing enemies before they drop.

what does stun immunity mean, what stuns you>?
When you get hit by a melee attack you will be unable to complete an attack in progress, drop a barrel you were carrying, etc. Gunners can stunlock you from repeat/multi shots making it hard to move/dodge. Stun immunity prevents this inability to take/complete actions. For example, the zealot talent tree stun immunity will let him keep carrying a barrel after taking a hit and increase speed to reach the destination sooner. Ogryns have innate stun immunity but this doesn't prevent getting downed or taking damage. An ogryn can charge a heavy attack, get hit and then complete the heavy attack because of this stun immunity.
There may be stagger states that exceed this stun immunity or circumnavigate it, however. Not positive. For example, melee stun immunity will not protect you from a horde of gunners and reapers shooting you.

Playing as what class? Is stun immunity equipped? If so, are you getting shot and dropping barrel due to this damage type? Bullets will make you drop it once you are out of toughness and the melee hits will still drop your toughness. Again, there may be other factors that exceed stun immunity (crusher/mauler overheads, getting disabled, etc). Generally, stun immunity is not a cure all to let you ignore damage, particularly repeat hits. There may also be variables such as changes brought on by a patch/hotfix unintended or otherwise.
Does the presence of pox gas modifier increase the spawn rate of med stimms?
Yes. Although in Havoc it does not.

You can hold a heavy attack, press ability and then release when you get to the mutant
If you hold the heavy attack as the mutant is charging at you and then ult while aiming at the mutant it will give you a longer than normal dash that is locked on to the mutant. This is how dash worked on release. Don't think it has changed. Release the heavy attack as you reach the mutants face. Damage vs Maniacs can help but is not necessary.

At 500 rating any weapon should be 80%x 4 with a 60% stat or some combination therein. The way I made a low warp res weapon was stopped at 430 rating or so. The end result was 80% x 3,, 60% in defenses and 30% or so warp res on a force greatsword. You may be able to get better RNG for the spread but I don't think you will ever find a 0% stat on a 500 rating weapon.

There is a bug currently that does not select your current loadout when you open your inventory. If the loadout you have in the upper right is not highlighted orange then you need to click on the loadout before you make any changes otherwise the game does not recognize any changes you make as being a part of that loadout. I believe this bug can occur even with only one loadout so check the upper right for your build to be highlighted orange or else click it to turn it orange. This is a known bug and devs on the Fatshark forum told me there is a fix in the works. Hopefully we will see it implemented before the end of the year. This issue may not affect all of your builds but it will consistently not highlight the same loadouts over and over. I'm not sure what the nature of the glitch is but hopefully the workaround of clicking the loadout before making changes helps you for now.

At the Havoc terminal, I see the current hosting assignment number?
I use True Level mod to see the highest currently cleared Havoc mission for the season to the right of my name. Outside of showing you the current Havoc mission (which is your rank at the moment for the season) at the terminal I am not sure Darktide displays that information to the player or other people. The penance related rewards are the only in-game acknowledgement of how far you have gotten overall.

I didn’t have a loadout nor multiple so I know it’s not selecting other loadouts but I did try making a loadout to see if it’d help which to no suprise seems to not work either, neither does having 2 for it to select from

The problem is that with this bug it does not select ANY loadout so until a loadout is manually selected no changes will be updated to the loadout. If you have only one build it is just a single icon in the upper right of your inventory. It should be highlighted orange to denote the active build.
In this photo one of the loadouts in the upper right should be orange but none are. That is the bug. If you have no loadouts there should just be a single icon like the ones in the upper right. You may have to hit the plus button to view it if nothing is there.

You could try reseting the talent points. I think you press E to clear all of them. Is it possible you have a gap in tree distribution that needs to be filled? You can right click to remove any point now for things like swapping auras or blitzs.

Any tips on the shocking stuff penance? Trials campaign etc?
The main thing you need is a horde preferably on heresy to balance density and HP. I suggest a flamer to get the majority of your kills after throwing a nade. You may need 2 shock grenades to shock enough for the penance. One spot that works is the twins campaign mission. When you encounter both twins at once (right before the elevator to the final encounter) a horde will spawn behind you. If you funnel them into the narrow hallway on your right as you enter that area, throw a grenade, swap to flamer and start burning. You may need a 2nd grenade to stun the rest of the horde as they funnel in. This strat can benefit from a teammate to keep the melee twin off you. If you are solo you can choose any map with a chokepoint and wait for a horde. It helps to not have bots with you so they don't steal kills but bots will kill less than randos who don't know what you are trying to do. The stealth ult should give you some breathing room after the horde is bunched up to throw the nade, switch to flamer and start firing.
Spec as you see fit since things die on heresy but damage vs unarmored and a crit build with everlasting flames blessing can ensure you don't run out of ammo before they are dead.

Unless an update has changed something which I don't think is the case, the penance will unlock so long as you kill any enemies hit with any stun grenade from a zealot so teammates can keep throwing them to stun more that rush in after the first is thrown to assist you.

I do not enjoy havoc at all. I got to 21, but it just isn`t rewarding, and the demotion thingy makes it also very stressful. I also do not enjoy expeditions, as it is kind of a stealth mode and it makes zero sense to me in an horde shooter (I do want to shoot the bad guys not to avoid them).
Repeting auric maelstrom ad infinitum doesn`t sound fun tho, suggestions?

Idk me personally I just play new weapons or try some different builds instead of caring much about the progression, havoc reward for me is just getting better, the jump in difficulty that i went through 20 to now 34 has been insane and very much so engaging
if you need some progression or reward though I'd say that is just a weak point of the game

A vet has the shout and stealth ults to create space. The shredder nades will also stagger and weaken enemies. Krak will delete big threats. Either ult will give you time to prep nades. Fastest way to throw them is RMB/aim down sights and LMB/fire to lob it at the floor in front of you. Until you are good at reading enemy telegraphs it will be easier to stick to agile weapons so you can block, dodge and attack during openings. The bigger the mass of enemies the fewer openings you will have. Parry on devils claw/dueling is good for one on one fights but will not protect you from more than one attack at a time. Make the enemy chase you by jumping over ledges or dropping down a ledge to give yourself some time to attack before the horde is back on you. Circling/kiting is a good counter to things chasing you down if you don't have enough crowd control to suppress them.

You want to split jump and dodge so they are not the same keybind. It will be faster/more responsive that way. I have dodge bound to Mouse 4 and jump is spacebar but whatever you prefer. In Settings --> Keybindings look for separate inputs for jump and dodge. You can clear/delete the combo input.

he definitely can
If you hold jump you will be able to hurdle railings/ledges. It may still glitch out from time to time but should be much more consistent.
like I can't properly exit the Rolling Thunder level because I can't get on top of the crates to jump inot the Valkyrie for example

Ogryn became more difficult to traverse obstacles after a year or so of patches to the game. It works the same but his hitboxes became less responsive to mantling obstacles. So long as you hold jump or release and hold jump again Ogyrn should get over ledges more consistently but they made him more of a pain to get over railings a while ago and never changed it back.
Yeah I just found some old videos and reddit posts talking about this often being an issue. It seems to indicate I might need to look down at the object I wish to vault differently than human sized characters. Unclear to me if there are places that other characters can vault that I can't or if it is purely mechanics or if I did something when I rebinded the controls that is only impacting my Ogryn
It may be more pronounced with separate keybinds but I have had them split since launch and Ogryn was much easier to vault with back then. Looking at the ledge may also help. When it comes to trouble vaulting vs trouble dodging I would still keep the binds separate personally but try it out for a while with someone other than Ogryn if needed and see what you think.
This might be silly but does anyone have a clip of an Ogryn hurling an object to give me a sense of what height he can get over and maybe I can find the same place in the level to try to hurdle? Im actually not easily finding clips of Ogryn hurdling over things

Yes. It will do a vault animation at times but I have had to stick with it until the animation kicks in after a few attempts. Ogryn is just a problem for now.
Yeah I am unable to get over that exact fence with Ogryn. Tried messing around with different jumping options. Pressing it differently, holding it and such. Changing the key binding back to default doesn't seem to fix it. I'm wondering if perhaps a mod I installed is causing an issue.

My wife and I are playing mostly Auric Maelstrom. Because of our child we don't have so much time for playing. We play mostly in the evening. We are from Germany and would appreciate any help from other players. German would be beneficial, because my wife is bad at English. Ukrainian would be good for my wife, but I'm not good at it... but English would also be fine.
I'm playing mostly Arbiter (meta build) and my wife Zealot (don't ask about that build... 😅).
We've played over 300h... that's not much, but we have a little bit of experience.
Our Havoc level should be 16, due to finishing Auric Maelstroms. Otherwise we don't have experience besides a few games with only bots... 😅
I fear we need people who can clutch or aren't afraid of losing a round.
We are playing for fun and don't mind other average players. So, we would even play with other newbies and could figure out Havoc together.
No that fence in particular is very tricky for ogryn after a patch impaired his vaulting ability. Which is one reason why you see every Ogyrn in a youtube video avoiding it altogether and just dropping on the open side. I have done it with and without mods. Makes no difference he still won't leap the railing 90% of the time.
Well if anyone has a clip of their Ogryn vaulting over something easily that perhaps includes the animation let me know so I can try to recreate

Must be stun. Can be someone elses's stun grenade though. Is why a dream team is oggy, vet, another zealot and you. Assuming they are all in to helping.
Oggy taunts and slabs to build up horde, second zealot to save seconds upkeeping the stun, vet for ammo crate grenades (skippable if you two are careful to not waste them.)
How do curio perks work? Friend suggested I run 3x revive speed and 2x gunner resist. I don't remember if there's Diminishing Rwturns or not.

It spawns a big horde right at the start when you jump down
Mortis trials, wave 3 earliest. Wave 6 if you need the ammo crate refill or box refill.
Will suggest stealth on the other classes to decrease aggro so oggy can pull more to a corner.
Make the chaff pile up.
When it looks big enough, toss stun and burn with flamer.
I have helped someone who decided stun into activated relic can work, but note you need to be a little more precise then to make the most out of every swing vs just flamer burn.
Map doesn't matter, you just want a corner your oggy can stand with his back against so the only hits he takes is on his shield.
Wave 3 is infinite, so if you 'afk' for like 10~ mins, it'll more or less build up.
Can be less, but better a bigger pile to have insurance.

Generally i don't think a certain build is gonna do much to be honest, it's much more of a "skill requirement" achievement. Ogryn and Arbitrator are certainly easier to play and might therefore be the go-to if you really want the achievement.

Yeah arbi is very straight-forward, and has some pretty cool weapons. I think the class that's closest to scum is Psyker, melee psyker specifically

its changed alot but its alot better with gear etc
yeah getting levels and power on gear is much more intuitive now
the reason i'm asking is because on the lower difficulties players are often less experienced, so things like barrels knocking you off the map happens less when everyone know's what they're doing

The way I see the two, brittleness is best combined with something that attacks rapidly (flamer, recon lasgun, light attack spam Ogryn, etc) to help light attacks do significant damage from you and the whole team. Rending is just for you and most benefits heavy attacks to ignore armor/resist and reach one-shot breakpoints easier/kill things in fewer swings. There is some overlap and you can utilize both together but videos I have watched show greater damage increases on light attacks compared to heavy attacks from brittleness which often needs quite a few hits to reach max stacks anyways.
Are people running health on Havoc now?
Because health technically has more value per point due to being hit less with the nerfs from havoc. You still want to balance it to prevent toughness break from a single random hit.
A lot of Havoc builds I've seen recommend maxing toughness and health in every possible spot you can on curios. I think this is generally overkill given the amount of other utility you can get from those curio slots but it can be useful to stack enough HP to survive a poxburster's corruption in high Havoc (100+ max HP). You don't need HP or Toughness buffs to beat H40 with any character though. It just serves as accident forgiveness.

you are probably better off just finding hunting grounds missions. you can probably get 3-4 at least per wave.
But in general, the AI director tends to send punishment waves and specials if you dont progress on the map

How do you do eta for the wasteland mission? I see no guide on youtube and the internet is empty, there is no nagavation so everytime I blindly looks for scavenge zones I pick up 200 tech remnants total it sucks
The map is a circle and you can see the door/evac zone icons on the compass (at top of screen) so use that to walk away from where you want to end up and go around the edge of the map looking for sites of interest. It helps to have some idea of what they look like so do other zones first and get acquainted with the layout as best you can. Often, red cargo crates contain tech as well as chain link gated squares. You only need 2K tech to be done with it and you can get 3K if you know where to look in a single run. Often it is best to scrounge around for tech/salvage as you explore from one potential site to another in Eta's no map modifier. If you make a complete circle back to where you started just aim for the middle until you run out of time. Rad stimms (100 salvage) give you more time in the next zone so buy them if you see it in the shop.

You will likely want to repost this in the vox-lfg channel below for your region for matchmaking purposes. Make every shot count is easiest with a revolver if you aim at hordes to help prevent the team stealing your kills and ammo dumping into monsters with >25% HP. Avoid Bulwark shields and anything that can make your hit marker turn blue (allies, etc). Don't take the ammo regen aura and when you are out of ammo finish the map with melee. For On Overwatch you should be able to get that fairly easily these days by running an expedition with stealth ult, running to the evac point and leaving the first area without getting hit.

So many of the other talents buff reload speed so it makes it seem even worse when I consider it. Getting that third shot for the Double Barrel is nice though but I'd like to think that isn't the only weapon it is intended for.

newish* bug. I mostly see it in Havoc. Should correct itself as you enter the mission but it does sacrifice the loadout managing pre-game. As with many FS bugs the best fix is to wait 6 months to a year for a fix. Possibly related to server sync issues depending on how far you and your randoms are from a central server. I have seen it less since updating my Nvidia driver to the latest and deleting the shader cache found in %appdata%/Fatshark/Darktide by deleting the file http_cache which is usually 111K KB but can balloon to half a GB or more as well as shader_cache.hans which will re-cache when you load the game again. No guarantee these steps are related to this bug could just be a case of correlation --> causation.

It's likely lag. The Mourningstar you drop into after missions is related to the last game you join. So if you join a 500 ping game, expect to join a 500 ping Mourningstar after mission.
And basically menus are affected since they take forever to ping servers with packet loss to load your stuff.
Hello I am new to the server so sorry if this is the wrong chanel to ask this.I have a problem that started happening recently.I play on pc and whener i get in the game i play normaly for like 5 or less min before everyone just like moves in a place or freezes.Then after like 30 sec i get kicked out with either error 2002 or 2014.Just wondering if anybody had the same or similuar problem and how to fix it.Any kind of help is appriciated
Check connection to server. Mission table, look for settings, confirm if right server or try other servers even if higher ping to see if more stable. You can also try restarting your modem/router, but that might not do anything.
The errors are usually too much packet loss or unstable connection.
Does havoc count as a private game for the purpose of penances?
To make a private game you need to press E (or corresponding input listed at bottom right of hub menu) in the mission terminal and select Private Game --> On. You need at least 2 people to run a private game. So long as those conditions are met I believe any mission type including Expeditions/Havoc should count for unlocking penances. Subject to change as new bugs/glitches enter with patches/hotfixes.
Is there such a thing as stims etiquette? generally agreed on pecking order for who gets what stims or just 'whoever wants it gets it'

You can build a class around prioritizing for a certain type of stim and get greedy for that one type of stim. The Hive Scum who can heal the whole team with a heal stim for example. You can also save red for DPS ults and orange for long cooldown ults. Generally, it is good to apply a heal stim to a teammate who is on last life unless they are proving too likely to waste the opportunity (underleveled, etc). It is better to hand a stim to a teammate with weapon special rather than try to use it on them in a crowded room with the whole team around to prevent wasting the effect.

For Havoc 30+ how does the OG team of Ogryn, Zealot, Vet and Psyker handle Moebian 21st? I'm finding with them coming in waves from both sides, it feels like we almost need another Ogryn or Arbitrator to maintain space so we don't get overwhelmed

If I start the event specific mission before the event timer runs out, and I beat it, when I arrive on The Morningstar I should still receive the reward. If not, then they shouldn't have event specific missions available within a certain time before the event ends. Also, I have beaten an event before where I did the same thing, and I still got the final tier reward...so I'm hoping I'll still get it.
Horde clear belongs to the team. Depending on builds 1-2 may specialize in deleting trash quickly such as a flame staff Psyker. Chorus zealot can make room while the team clears. Dash or Taunt Ogryn can keep things on the floor pretty well and off the team. A lot of time in H30+ you are best served by moving as a unit to keep things off your team more than rushing around killing big things. Even the worst horde clear player on the team can poke at one thing at a time if they know to push every so often to stagger an attacker in between dodges as you circle with the horde so long as every 20-30 seconds someone is taking the pressure off with their abilities and not pulling more by running ahead to trigger more. Many teams will tell you coherency has no business being utilized in Havoc once they learn to play well enough to take care of themselves but a dozen little buffs can stack up to a lot of survivability especially for the uninitiated.
Sales are quarterly give or take with potentially slightly better sales around XMas or a Warhammer event or game anniversary. They will likely also offer a bundle of DLC classes like they did with Vermintide 2 once they have released a bunch/all of them which will go on sale in the following years.
Can't say for certain but so long as you can access the event mission you should unlock the next tier reward upon completion automatically if the +1 mission brought you to the reward milestone. Might not see the rewards listing on Tab menu after the event is over so it may be harder to discern if this was the case if you don't know how much plasteel/diamantine you had beforehand. There is an event tracker in-game at Sire Melk's that will show you prior events and reward trees but it may also be not accessible after an event meaning you would wait until the next one goes up in around 2-4 weeks.
Thanks for the reply. Maybe I need to get a sense of how to rotate more because it felt like waves upon waves were pushing us back and once the bombers got involved we got pushed into a corner. I could create space as the Ogryn with the power maul but I wasn't sure if the Zealot without chorus or Vet really has the tools to provide space to navigate
For beginners to H30+, I recommend the whole team familiarize themselves with the "meta" builds for Havoc for their class. Not bringing gold toughness and maybe a bubble shield (while not a death sentence) will make the job of crowd control and keeping teammates from being chipped to death by gunners, etc much tougher. It should not be all on the Ogryn to hold a horde coming from multiple directions at bay. The LMB on the flame staff can stagger anything up to a rager for creating breathing room and chorus zeal/shout vet also provide CC while making the team somewhat immune to one-shots and incoming damage. You want cooperative builds rather than lone wolfs who can protect themselves. Psyker or Vet may be a good fit for running console objectives while the rest of the team keeps enemies off them with ults and attacking but anyone can so long as they can make themselves vulnerable with support from the rest of the team. It also helps to get a feel for the rhythm of advance and retreat that keeps you from pulling too much or getting stuck in a position that gets someone killed. Usually this just involves falling back around a corner to avoid gunners and circling/backpedaling with the team as you whittle down the hordes. Quite often this also helps funnel threats from multiple angles down a single chokepoint to narrow your exposure.

Pretty sure the IX gives you a strikedown on heavy 1 and then chains into repeating sweep attacks after heavy 2. You can also light, heavy repeating to get a slightly faster sweep combo for horde clear. Just block cancel to return to the strikedown. Meta may have changed over time with balance patches. One of the marks may have a better weapon special for chipping away at Carapace but that is the biggest drawback to heavy sword. You can Heavy 1, weapon special on repeat until they die though. Mostly the difference boils down to swing patterns but I like the IX the best among them.

Your GPU may also be altering settings. Assuming you have Nvidia, go to Nvidia app --> Settings --> scan window for Games and Apps --> disable the toggle for "Automatically optimize newly added games and apps". Not sure what equivalent is for AMD these days. In this case it may be turning on frame gen.

I turn Volumetric Fog quality down to medium for performance but everything else is high. Nvidia tells me they recommend even higher settings but I don't notice the difference so much as I notice more stuttering when set the way Nvidia recommends.
V-sync is monitor dependent. If you have a Freesync or G-sync monitor you should not need V-sync. If you notice lots of screen tearing, particularly when you look around turn it on.
I mean ive never had video card or cpu lag and the graphics are fine for me as are the frame rates so i assume those ones are fine. Thank you for this advice and i will report back in a moment to see if its inplementation has ameliorated my issue

Turn Ray Tracing off for Darktide. Too much of a performance hog and I believe poorly implemented in this game in particular.

However I cap to a bit below my monitor refresh rate to improve my 1% lows and frame time stability

im trying to que for quickmatch and keep getting an error code
The most times I have seen an error like that in a row is 5-6. Usually it seems to be a hiccup in matchmaking. Maybe a team wipes while you are joining, etc. When it happened multiple times in a row I closed Darktide, restarted and had no problem after. Assuming you made it to the hub you should not be experiencing network issues on your end. You may want to go to the mission terminal and press E (or equivalent input listed on the lower right of that screen) and check what server the game logged you into. I'm usually NA East but the game has logged me into China/SE Asia before because it lists that server as having negative ping. Hasn't done that in a while though although the ping remains negative for that server for whatever reason.

Is havoc 35 with poc gas one of the hardest modifiers (in rotation) now
Because there isn't a ton of (if any) med stims in the Havoc version of Pox gas it does force you to counter the corruption or else limit you to playing hopskotch as you run through the map since Havoc already deprives you of HP which is difficult when Havoc hordes have a tendency to push teams around already. Corruption resist on curios or class talent trees may help. Wound curios and revive speed is another solution in theory for the Pox gas. Generally, pox gas is a hassle most people don't want to deal with in a Havoc situation but you can build counters that make it more trivial. Inferno is arguably also one of the nastiest 4th modifiers. The fact that Pox Gas only appears as a modifier on top of the usual Havoc setup makes it much more to deal with than a standard Havoc mission.

Captains you want damage vs Flak. For bubble shield it is best to bring rapid fire attacks rather than high damage, slow attacks. Monstrosities you want Damage vs Unyielding. Pretty sure elite does not cover either.

Events offer solid returns and have been showing up monthly for the most part. Apart from waiting for them I would quickplay for the tiny bonus it gives on heresy or damnation. Auric drops should be equal or nearly the same as damnation so no need to farm there while underleveled.

Likely removing files and permissions. If you want, you can try verifying files before you play, but that can also take some time.
I haven't tested this but from looking around it appears that if you take the Power Maul blessing Power Surge to add a second explosion you can get 4 stacks of burn potentially from one weapon special. Needs to hit armor to proc though otherwise just 2 stacks. The source I read is old so I also can't vouch a patch hasn't nerfed this. Right ok so it isn't exactly just a larger explosion but a double explosion. Since the change to Batter do you know if the horde combo would be spamming light attacks or spamming heavy attacks or is it something different? I had assumed heavy but I've now seen a couple videos where it looks like light attacks and I'm assuming that is Batter related.
For starters, I assume you have leveled far enough to unlock the ability to use it? If so, may need to lower settings and restart game after deleting shader cache in %appdata%/Fatshark/Darktide. Delete http.cache and shader_cache.hans. When you restart the game it will recache shaders. AMD cards in particular have had issues loading the in-game menus (penances, inventory, crafting station, etc). The shader cache has a tendency to balloon over time with patches which may be part of your issue accessing it.
The explosion and burn stacks are the same and the heavy sweep attack takes so much longer to set up alongside the weapon special that I would think light spam would be the best way to proc it. Also, to hit armor you may be better served by the overhead light attack to make sure the explosion doesn't trigger off some trash standing next to a mauler, etc.
o sorry to clarify I meant in between special attacks.

on what aspects should i focus on if i want to be better as a veteran main? i play a sort of sniper build with plasma gun but i wanted to know if maybe i should focus on certain aspects of the team like covering them when they’re agaisnt a mixed horde (mauler in between 8165 rotters) could a veteran main suggest on what to improve?
The first thing you want to focus on is making sure you are prepared to defend yourself from the hordes the randos leave you for dead to handle since Vet is squishy. Shredder nades can accomplish this to complement the plasma gun since it can often handle the bigger enemies itself. You may want to play shout or stealth to give yourself some breathing room until you know you have a team that will protect you as you snipe or until you are comfortable enough with your melee weapon to dispatch threats with that alone. Vet support options revolve around running objectives and rezzing with stealth or feeding toughness with shout and middle tree talents. Vet toughness can be very good with Iron Will so long as you can get back to full toughness when needed. Field Improvisation isn't needed but feeding nades to the team can be useful depending on team composition.

Do you think with the Power Maul if you take Slam which adds an impact bonus, then for Loyal Protector it makes the most sense to go with Go Again! so you can spam the ability? If doing it with the Rumbler which I assume staggers, does it make it a no brainer?
If you are running Loyal Protector, Go Again is generally going to offer more utility than Valuable Distraction due to uptime on holding aggro for the team. Slam is a good skill and mandatory if you run Loyal Protector due to being next in the tree. May be overkill if you happen to be running Impactful on the Heavy Hitter keystone or at least you will hit the cap on impact/stagger potential.
Rumbler will stagger the types of enemies who will usually die right after from an explosion provided it does not bounce too far away. Depends on what types of threats you plan to go after with it. I find I am often running adhesive and shrapnel on Rumbler which won't stagger anything it sticks to anyways but stands a better chance of killing them and chipping away at monstrosities.

In Magistrati oubliette tm8-707 if the twins appear immediately when you enter the tunnel at the beginning of the mission. Are you supposed to stay in the tunnel or get out of it? Or do some teammates stay while others leave?
