if say you roll a profane weapon or buy a blue from Brunt directly
and you don't wanna waste resources on a weapon that's got the wrong stats
how do you know if that final upgrade is gonna meet the proper breakpoints?
upping the tier of you weapon only unlocked the Potential of having better Perks (Refine) and more slot to your Blessing (Re Blessing)
you see the true MAX out stats through the second percent number of that stats for EX: 50/80%
which mean that you now have 50% bonus but you can max it out at 80%
and yes the cap is 80%
that is why when you "ROLL" look for the best of the best that your Build require

- Does every hit you block cost the same amount of stamina, or it scales proportionally with how much damage it would make?
- You can't fully block crusher's and mauler's overheads sure - but does it still reduce amount of damage you get, comparing to no blocking?
- Does blocking near burster's explosion help you in any way (if you can't get to safety)?

Is there a visual cue that helps you to understand your current cleave isn't sufficient to deliver damage to all possible targets, assuming it's a strictly horizontal sweep? Like, will the swing's animation stop mid-way in such case? And if it's played from end to end, can I then be sure I hit all the mobs it went through - or the animation is played to the end in any case, but damage may only be applied to the first few mobs it hits, until cleave limit is reached?

Also I've got a mission to kill 'Dregs' but have run 2x missions now and not really seen any - is that normal? Am I on the wrong difficulty / mission mode?
You can upgrade power level, it doesn't matter much. What you really want are the optimal max stats for the weapons.
Psyker Greatsword would 60% warp res, relic blade would be 60% mobility with all other stats at 80% when fully upgraded

All you can do is think back on events.
Did you leave anyone in a net when you could have got them up?
Did you hit a barrel and knock someone off the edge?
Did you overextend and get downed far from your team?
I will say, It's rarely just one mistake that causes a wipe, unless someone is carrying hard
5 havoc wipes in a row gets you doubting
but yeah i generally try to just think back
Watching your teammates getting chipped or an insta death with 2+ wounds is usually how I see a havoc fall apart
Once you're a duo it's possible to recover still but any disabler during a hoard and it's hell

Hello everyone! Been playing for a while but never dived into end game and stats, just sorta ran around on 1-3 difficulty blasting heretics away and having fun. But wanted to start gunning for better gear and I have a Kantrael Mk X Laspistol in Sire Melks shop that has 79% damage 78% ammo 75% Power 74% Mobility and 75% stability
Would this be considered a good weapon? I know you wanna get the better stats to 80% but this seems pretty well rounded, would the lack of a few % make a huge difference?
for most weapons mobility/defence and collateral are dump stats, so these are your goals on every weapon ideally
and about las pistol - it doesnt really matter i think
caring about breakpoints on every single weapon... is it really worth it?..
especially i think that you are new, you dont have enough resources to gamble at brunt for weapons with needed dump stats
so i think you should not care for now

query: What exactly is does the campaign encompass? Is it special singleplayer missions or just a bunch of co-op missions with different dialogue or something?

the campaign is every mission in canon order, you can still play online,
if you skip it you'll be forced to waste 50k ordo dockets and wipe your mind at kralls (dont have to change anything just gotta go through the menu), and you'll be given the option to go through it again.

Should I keep a weapon with the right "stats" (and upgrade it) that's a blue and at power level 80, or pickup a gold one at power level 500 from the store that's not got perfect "stats"
If you're getting power level 80 weapons, you must have a low level character. Better to wait to level 30 to get higher power weapons
But if you have spare melk bucks, you could always grab a gold one to keep you going
Grab one with the optimal stats then 
Eventually you'll have resources for days

If you have no use for them whatsoever you can either sell for resources or sacrifice them at hadrons to level weapon mastery

Hello. I wanted to know if different attack animations deal different demage? Weapon in question is knife. I've been trying out both marks and while mark3 is great at horde clearing with heavy cleave animation, I can't help but to feel like mark6 heavy stab animation works better on heavy single targets. Is this how it actually works or am I imagining things?
they do
yes, you can view attack breakdowns if you inspect the weapon in your inventory
different attacks have different damage, armor damage values, cleave, stagger, and finesse (weakspot and crit damage)
you cant see cleave in the attack breakdowns, but you can see damage against all armor types, and weakspot and crit damage
there are also stagger values there, but they arent very accurate
usually its pretty intuitive
if an attack has low cleave, and/or is an uppercut or downwards attack
its usually a single target attack
while if it comes more from a horizontal angle, its usually meant for cleave and horde clear
any idea why my flawless execution is not counting up? ive played like 6 missions now without anyone getting downed but its not counting
or does rolling steel does not count towards flawless execution since its an operation and not a mission

Its not perfect and the base stats are so low you'll spend a ton of resources bringing it up to 500
Idk what your resource wallet or mastery situations are like but its probably worth fishing for a perfect roll at or near level 30
Then you can skip like, 30 rounds of empower lol
Yeah unless you've already got a lot of weapons maxing that one out is going to cost more than you want to pay probably
Also at 30 it seems like i usually only need to roll like 5-10 brunt buys to get a perfect 60 potential in the dump stat
Weird knock on effect of how empower and potentials work, since empower adds stats evenly until they start maxing out if the raw stats roll with one stat at least 20 lower than all the others it will always be a 60 potential
As a result perfect potentials are actually a lot more likely than they feel like they should be
Its also increasingly rare to have fewer 80s, i've only ever rolled a few weapons with no 80 potentials

An easy trick to gain mastery is to buy a grey weapon of the mastery you want; upgrade it to green and sacrifice it for mastery gain at Hadron. (Sacrifying the same weapon as the mastery you pick for the progression nets more progression)

I wouldnt stack 2 rending blessings. And ruthless backstab unless your doing a backstab book build on zealot I dont ever recommend that blessing
Rending has a hard cap at 100%, and ruthless backstab is just a bad blessing in general
Rending and brittleness don't work on unarmored and infested enemies
Everything else rending will have some effect on
If I was in a mission and there was a horde coming from both in front and behind, is it better to attack the enemies behind, or should I just ignore them and focus on the horde in front, then run to the next mission objective as soon as possible?
kill the enemies that are the most dangerous 1st
running away is never a good solution, it creates bad mindsets
kiting is another thing
Whenever there is a horde coming from multiple sides, the rest of the squad focus on the horde in front and run away, leaving me behind to deal with the other enemies because I can’t just turn and run from enemies like ragers. So I assumed I was doing something wrong by attacking the enemies behind.
there is 2 ways to think about it
1: To win the mission you just need to complete the objective
2: This is a horde game, centered around fighting horde
if you want to fight the horde and have fun go for it, but rushing objectives does complete missions faster and is usually the only thing people think about
if I was on high havoc level missions, are my teammates in the wrong for running to the next objective and leaving me behind while I’m fighting a horde alone?
Or am I in the wrong for fighting that horde to begin with instead of just running ahead with them?
alot of variables can change the answer, but if its just trash horde (poxwalkers) and there is no active threat, ritual/boss/special rush, then leaving the trash is fine
if its a mixed horde
one with elites in it, best to clear them out

What does that mean exactly? What’s a wound?
Your healthbar is split into segments, each one of those segments is a wound.
When you are downed and picked up by a teammate, one of your wounds will become corruption. and once you have no more wounds left, you will immediately die instead of being downed.
If you have more wounds, then you can be downed more times before immediately dying.

Usually backing a bit when a boss spawns is safe to avoid spawning more or triggering rituals

if you're lvl 30 and have 300-350 gear, you can easily do Havoc 10
maybe 15
that's already some "free" diamantine every week
Havoc 10 is like Heresy, maybe even easier
im still not nearly confident enough to do havocs

what does clearance level really mean? I know its havoc related but, is it just play 25 successful missions?
so if I joined a havoc 25 public party and we succeeded I would finish the penance
you can only advance your clearance by up to 3 per mission depending on how high the mission level is relative to your clearance

What's up with the Chain axe's heavy/strikedown doing less damage to carapace than the light/relentless?

there’s the zarona and the agripinna, zarona has ADS, agri has brace
the zarona deals more damage but shoots and reloads slower, and has less ammo
agri braces, so shoots faster by fanning the hammer, but with worse ADMs against carapace, and reloads via speed loader and has more ammo
It does however have 176% damage versus unyielding

That would determine what sort of mark you got and what sort of blessings are good for it

Bracing in this case means that your character simply brings the gun closer to the screen and braces for any sort of recoil the gun is about to do. In this case, one mark has the character's left hand over the hammer, as if ready to fan it

Do trappers take less damage if you hit their gun when shooting them? I just had a trapper survive a critical hit from an achlys mkII heavy stubber, which is usually a one-shot on auric.
There was also a ricochet sound effect when I shot them, and I don’t remember trappers having carapace armor.
the only explanation that I can think of is that I shot their gun instead of their body and it reduced the damage that they took, but I have never had that happen with any other enemy type.

What confused me is that I heard a sound effect similar to hitting carapace armour when I shot them
Was the hit marker blue? That indicates hitting armor
The sound effect could have been the Crit sound
Nevermind, I recorded it happening earlier, and after checking it a few times. the sound effect that I heard was from firing the last shot in my clip, which makes a different sound effect.
I still don’t know why it survived the shot, but it was probably the range
Probably, damage falloff starts around 12.5m for most weapons iirc
Im testing it in the meat grinder, and occasionally my shots will deal half of the usual damage or maybe less when I’m shooting the body.
I think I might have shot the trappers hand which seems to do less damage
Shooting their hand, it can survive a crit even on heresy difficulty

Hi so I’m new to dark tide and I was wondering why is my frame rate capped at 60fps

i think it’s capped in the menus and maybe in the mourningstar
so if it’s in those, try going into the psykanium and trying it out in there
if not, try updating drivers, checking monitor settings
I put my settings on low and messed with a bunch of settings and I’m getting 120fps+ now

Move the dot around until you get one that turns white, then click it. Do this 3 times

Yeah maybe, I'm a newbie to Havoc myself tbh, but when I was clearance level 4 I didn't join assignment 20-21 groups.
I only started joining groups a couple of levels above my current assignment when I reached the 15-19 kind of area.
And I only tried my first Havoc 40 yesterday, after some in a 23 group suggested it, I said I'm happy to try but I wasn't sure I was capable yet.
Did better than I thought I would, need to get better at using the meta builds before I try again.

Yeah the run was going fairly well, but then one person ran upstairs while we still had auspex stuff to do on the first level (phage tree map), and someone else followed them, I was trying to stick with the Psyker player who suggested the 40 in the first place who knew what they were doing, but between splitting up and having to regroup again it chipped away at people's health quite a bit.
The run failed, but it did feel like I was doing better than I thought I was and I was the 3rd to go down, even then it was to an unlucky burster putting me off some stairs.
for the arbites shock maul suppression shield, what combo should I use for horde clear? spam lights? or light 1 - light 2 - blockpush - light 1 - light 2 and loop it
when should I use heavies?
Push l1 l2 push l1 l2. This is with the mark that bonks hordes with light horizontals for 1 and 2. Also assumes you go right for the push for more cleave.
how about bossing? and which mark is the best?
I can't tell you. I think the other mark is more used by people. I just prefer handling crowds than bosses. Pretty sure if you wanna boss, you go arby shock maul instead.

I was wondering: when rending/brittleness is helpful, and when it's not? Is there a rule of thumb? Is it helpful against anything with obvious armor, like flak or carapace? Or only carapace? What about Unyielding mobs, do they have any armor that you can reduce by stacking brittleness on them? Like on bosses?
And I would assume it has zero effect on unarmored mobs, no?
inspect your weapons and see how much damage they do to different armor types
if it's doing half of the normal damage to carapace - that's where rending\brittle will be useful

But rending and brittleness both make you do some amount of damage in between your damage to that armor type and your damage to unarmored
So it works on flak, maniac, unyielding too if your weapon is bad for that type
I think its like brittleness 40 makes you do target type damage + 40% of the difference between target type damage and unarmored damage

Rending works on flak, carapace, maniac and unyielding, which leaves out unarmored and infested. It reduces the damage penalty you have up to 100%, and when going past 100% it'll convert into damage at a 4:1 ratio
So if you deal 50% damage against carapace and get 70% rending, you deal 100% damage against carapace and the remaining 20% rending is converted into 5% damage

rending/brittleness has a combined cap of 100%, thats the maximum you can have and see an effect from, even the 4:1 ratio, anything beyond that wont do anything
though this is irrelevant most of the time cuz lots of sources dont stack up that high when all put together (except you, uncanny strike, which literally goes 20% above the cap on its own, functionally doing nothing with that extra 20% holy shit this blessing is stupid)
Does anyone have any suggestion to reduce the visual clutters and effects? Both from the team and from the enemies. I just started playing Auric and to me feels like half the time my visuals are blocked either by fire, pox gas, explosions of an Ogryn or flames from a psyker.
I am starting to get annoyed by it. It's not even that i am losing, quite the opposite. It just feels like the best way to play is just spamming dodge and slide and praying the emperor since you can't see shit about what is hapening. Playing the new event on auric just brings the visual clutter to 10000. Yesterday i was playing with some dudes and i asked "guys i don't see shit with all this green, explosions and stuff, what can i do?" and the answer was "We can't see shit either". Is this considered "hard gameplay"? Feels like the best way to play is pick up as much aoe damage and stagger as you can, as much toughness regeneration as you can and just pray the emperor that nothing really harmful hits you in the insane visual clutter.
You really just gotta pay attention to disablers, burster and not stand on shit. It feels so bad playing any melee weapon or ranged weapon that requires any kind of precision or finesse while playing unga bunga weapons feels insanely powerful since you don't give a shit about the visual clutter.
I come from Vermintide 2 and even on DWONS i had no problem seeing stuff after some tweaking in the options. In DT seems like even tho i removed so many effects and stuff i still can't see shit

I think i was not clear. What i am trying to say is that i feel like that the game promotes spamming and abusing some way too strong and easy to use mechanics while other are ineherently hard or feel bad to use due to the insane visual clutter, not really due to the fact that they are bad in game

It really does come from situational awareness, while the game does throw bullshit sometimes that the players can't see or hear (blaming on the game engine and audio mixing) it all goes to how much skill you gain no matter how visually clustered the game becomes you still got your ears and what's left of your screen
Though there are mods that can slightly improve the experience if you think the vanilla game and is visuals can be distracting

Honestly I felt the same way but gaining hundreds of hours, I managed to be clear of what I am seeing and not panicking most of the time while playing higher diffs

Damnation or Auric is not the problem for me. I am used to it but the things is that players i dealt with does not know how this game really work. Some of them does not even know that you can not out run or "ignore" the mini boss the stages will not let you through. Yet they still do it then got mauled in the elevator. They are all 100 plus levl (i use true level) which mean they should have had experiences.
for me it's just block the front vision and distract me from what is up ahead.

One good thing about the phage tree mini game is that the path will always be the same whenever you drop or get hit so if you already made some progress each phase you will know what they were if you got hit
Either way trusting teammates on the phage tree is a 50/50 that they stand fighting somewhere else or just don't wanna bother do the mini game

It is better sometimes to clear out enemies before proceeding but I think that the spawns are endless in that section
I always go for defense if I see a teammate doing it, keep pushing and taking the hits and since I play Ogryn he can't be interrupted while doing the auspex unless toughness broke

More horde intensity plus mods depending on what's up at the moment. Don't be afraid to make the jump between damnarion and aurics. Once you get used to auric intensity you'll find damnation and lower boring
You'll also find bigger specialists/elites packs

I pinged them, but it’s an open question. I don’t like leaning on shooting like that generally, so I’m not sure how to help them
do they usually go down as a result? from what ive seen here, a tough love approach might work faster (let them die and pick them up later), though i've not had enough experience to say if that'll work or not
i just know thats usually how players would deal with someone who seems to be intentionally lagging behind in public games

I am watching an havoc 40 gameplay of a knife zealot. 10 mins in the only thing he is doing is spamming m1 to farm crit to get back chorus asap and spamming chorus. Group is vet - flame psyker - rumbler ogryn. I think on the kill feed he has not killed a single elite, used a single push stab or a single heavy/move tech. Is this what should i expect from h40?

Zealot is more effective as a elite mulcher but chorus bot is preferred because golden toughness is good
Nothing's stopping you from running charge or (god forbid) stealth. It's just that the mission will be a little harder for you and your teammates without chorus

A good FotF zealot is more effective in a well run team

I skipped the first difficulty, so I'm punished
I doubt the first difficulty matters at all, just the amount of missions completed on the higher difficulties
but I do think it's slightly too strict as is, though I do like that it ensures that people at auric truly have played the game properly and should know how to play at that difficulty

So wounds in general aint that good, considering only few talents corespond to them?
In current build I go down to 2 wounds rather fast, but stay there quiete a while
Only take wounds with Marty, and even then you just stay at like 20% hp so does it really make you any tankier? No

And with toughness damage resistance talents it will absorb more and deal less HP damage to you
Why can't we have a shield pulse like from captains when our toughness breaks that sends enemies backwards

yes, you're right. but there are talents that trigger DR from taking health damage or reduce health damage taken in some way

played a few games, I think it works really well for shotgunners bc youre sliding so you can dodge like, a whole volley of them without getting hit
say less. i stayed on heretic to do the maelstorms but the grind still felt slow lol.
heresy maelstorm arent that great or grinding resource
just spam quickplay damnation for plasteel

Yeah one of the main reasons of sliding is ranged immunity. It also let's you keep your momentum without costing stamina, which is particularly beneficial, dare I say "exploitable", on a few weapons. Not to mention more obvious things like letting you move further to avoid a hitbox, if you were to miss the iframes (like avoiding overheads from crushers/maukers in particular)
so Ive got sort of a stupid question
I know weak point hits are headshots, even for melee weapons, right?
but Ive also heard that the knife gets bonus damage on a backstab
so which am I supposed to go for? headshots or backstabs?
and when you add in uncanny strike which every knife uses at this point, does that mean you have to attack armor head on?

light attack spamming and bleeding a crusher to death with a toothpick is funny
Knife does not get bonus backstab damage, they are probably thinking of the zealot talent

just in general, coming from weapons like the heavy eviscerator, thammer and chaxe, the knife seems very lackluster and doesn't seem to do most things as easily

It's a single target weapon with insane mobility and a little bit of an attack combo you need to learn
I was completely shocked to hear three different people call the knife a safe weapon/personal survival weapon because when I took it for a spin it went horribly almost every single match

Safe in the sense it can easily build to 1-2 crushers and has the fastest mobility
