Incoming balance update on Bolter: Slower cocking speed.

Eventually bolter will get a nerf anyway cuz i dont think a regular human should be able to shoot with it full auto.
and if you want to go into lore wise. bolters is used by spacemarines, even custodes. so yes it's in fact god('s) weapon
This is a human sized bolter, not the same .75 that Spehs Marines shoot. Somewhat smaller in caliber and bulk.
its also used by arbites and lots of other high ranking people, but in the "pistol" variant that we also get in game
Dont think so unless its just broke for multiple guardsmen, had me and another guardsman together, killed an elite, only got one shell.

that's why i inclined to take the + reload speed after kill specials feat
i have yet to try my speed reload build with plasma
im a poor zealot that only gets +25% ranged damage at close range in terms of gun perks

yes the bolter can't oneshot a crusher, but can you do that in actual combat where the enemy is moving too?
yeah they sure can, ive seen it *while i was charging at it trying to get the oneshot in melee first and being too slow lol

get a voidstrike staff and a chainsword *with the perk that adds 175% cleave on multi hit

do you voidstrike elites or pop them? Brain burst seems kind of meh after the 2nd difficulty

when theres LOTS of elites use staff, when you can single them out and youre not getting overrun/have cover use brainburst
Crushers when my entire team unloads autoguns into them probably doing like 1 damage each shot
if you dont have a zealot with chainweapon or a vet with plasmagun or several people with bolters always focus ogryns with brainburst
other than that spam charged voidstrike and line up as many enemies as you can (unless its maulers or armored ragers, it wont go through them)
void strike is a line? I though it just blew up in a circle
but in exchange it crunches maulers ragers and crushers armour for on my staff over 450

void strike is a single orb with a decent radious effect that travels in a line it does explode on impact but only to stagger or knock down

can you translate the perks and bonuses pls, those are much more important than the sliders

idk about reload duration on this weapon, damage to unarmored is meh, speed when equipped is meh, the last perk is quite good
id highly recommend getting+ 20% damage against flak armor
how can this weapon be with godroll perks?
i have never used this specific one but some perks/bonuses are just straight up better than others

till this day i still don't understand how salvo works. you hit one guy multi time? you shoot multi time in quick succession? you fire on full auto? no freaking clue

if I hadnt seen salvo modifiers on single shot weapons before I would have said its for auto fire, but ya know
@blissful geyser none that i know of but the best rolls (from my experience) on what id call precision weapons are damage vs flak + damage vs indomitable (i might have gotten that name wrong), weakspot damage and power bonuses, tho even those can vary greatly depending on which one it is, but reading them will usually make it pretty obvious whether theyre great or not
i did on the infantry lasgun. even on the helbore ones.
im pretty sure its just "continuous fire" on the same target with a tiny bit of leeway, since ive seen it on a bolter

anything melee with +%damage to basic horde enemies is pretty sweet depending on if its a cleave weapon, +flak is good too, generally god rolls are gonna be something we gotta find out over time, way too early to make calls on that especially since shit is likely gonna change a lot in the coming weeks
for anything that you wanna use against hordes the +150-200% cleave for x seconds on multihit seems pretty godlike to me

carapace bonus is sadly completely worthless except against crushers, slaughterer is great, shred not so much *i wouldnt buy it but i also dont like force swords to begin with

👀 Poor mobility, but that is an impressive meat grinder. Though admittedly for single target it doesn't offer as much besides its base stats
not really, for maulers just do body hits, even with +carapace damage and headshots youll prolly do more damage that way
mobility is a joke at this point. well, not entirely but it's definitely not an important one
Carapace bonus worth it for melting crushers alone.
Hit maulers with special to the head and itll do more dmg
theres other ways to get rid of crushers, never worth skipping on +20% (flak) damage turning 3 hits to 2 hits on pretty much ALL other elites
except hit them in the body would deal more damage than that anyway

It's head, but just hit the body
still their head it's just that body shot is greater anyway
the head, but thats also the only spot that has carapace armor, try it in the meatgrinder, its not worth hitting them there with 99% of attacks
I should have been more specific, in this case, it's clearly not better, my mistake. As a psyker you aren't going in and hitting the dude with your sword unless you can help it. (I may have bolter brain)
i can see how youd still aim for the head with force sword special, for chain weapon special its pretty similar too i think but i always go for body anyway
I mean, a weapon with an armour-piercing special, bonus damage to carapace armour, and a high finesse bonus sounds like a weapon you would hit the head with.
yeah but thats a very niche application, id take flak bonus over carapace any day on any weapon *if you already have it then ye head might actually be the same or slightly better
If you can reach that high and don't animation-bug into its behind in the process.

yes *it also refreshes duration on any application of it from anyone, just like bleed

There's a level 30 talent if memory serves (the emperor) that grants a 10% chance to give a charge if a target dies from soulblaze "from any source". Just wondering if that includes other psykers, and if not, well..

Yesterday I learned that the big number on gear is NOT an itemlevel... it's an itemrating. Bigger Itemrating doesn't mean more powerful (since that itemrating is also tied to it's rarity).
A grey 375 item is far superior to an orange 410 item.
it's down to the bars, the rating just provides more points for the bars
i doubt that, the number supposedly is currency for the sliders, also traits and bonuses can do much more for a weapon than its base stats if you got good ones
Well, we can't be totally sure that higher rarity doesn't come with a hidden bonus or a discount to traits. But yes, rarity does not equal power. (traits cost an unknown number of rating points.)
higher rarity = more traits...higher item-rating = more bar distribution thats pretty much it so far
higher item-rating = more bar distribution + stat on traits
actualyl the stat on traits is determined by its own system denoted by the little lines on the trait squares. more rarity just increases the chances of a higher quality trait afaik
Bonus-Attributes make up between 5-10 of the rating points, Bonus-Traits make up 25 points each... which means that the base stats of a 375 item are equivalent to an orange 435-445 item... and therefore significantly stronger than a 410 item.

For trash on lower difficulties, certainly.
For actual Bosses Soulblaze is pretty powerful if you can consistently apply/refresh stacks
They should probably up the base. Sure, 3 psykers with flame staves can probably stack over a 1000 dps of dot on a boss, with the only kink in that plan being that the boss won't survive that long. But this still makes it hard to apply and sort of niche. I will try once I get a high enough level, but I'm not expecting being positively surprised.
Just seems easier with a lot less setup to just get some vets with bolters
I will say, bosses are by far the least of my worries in this game so far across all difficulties. Basically everyone has a way to melt them, and they’re easy to kite.
With the bonus of having better melee survivability and grenades for utility for a singular enemy that isnt that hard to deal with regardless
The Assassination target with his shotgun is easy to kite and melt?

If your team isn’t ganging up on the assassination boss then you’re doing it wrong.
The only issues in the fight is special and elite spawns which you just have to have a team with four braincells to know to peel off and deal with if needed

Idk if I’d say there is a clear easy and hard they all have a skill set to them, Psyker I guess has less aiming but you need to know to melee properly.
I feel like all of them have a very similar skill set if you understand how to play them.
The chaff is 100% more likely to cause a wipe than the boss itself

If you can get the Boss to switch to melee-mode, sure... but if he consistently spams his Shotgun, then he can be pretty dangerous since he will melt your Toughness and then stunlock you
Between zealot and vet easiest leaning towards zealot personally. Psyker is probably the least useful atm while having a decent amount of mechanical complexity

My friend has an issue where he can't equip curios. He can't left click them or equip them but he can discard them. Any advice?
That’s why you move in on him, since the update I haven’t had an issue getting them to switch to melee. But yes if you let them use their ranged weapon they’ll fuck shit up
so far I like the revolver and zappy staff but I dunno why I can't have both instead of the melee weapons

It's a skill-issue... learn to dodge (instead of tanking everything with your forehead) and pick your battles (instead of charging into everything as if you're invuln... because your invuln has a CD)

I would suggest playing the game more, maybe bump a difficulty level up to understand why you always need a melee weapon.
I just press F and then zap them instead because the sword is really laggy

I can't find a mission with Dregs in it. Need to kill 750 in melee. Cleaving through the whole mission but counter doesn't rise. So I have no idea what enemy that is and where i can find em, yet alone 750 of them.

Those 8% damage bonuses are bug and they are x10 as people said, but for example 20% Damage (Carapace Armoured Enemies) are x10 too?
How do you get the different melee weapons? so far I only see the sword in shop

I dunno man, I got a purple 410 gun vs a blue 380 gun, I tested them - blue had same damage or more in special cases "headshots on capace armor"
But everything else the purple one had DOUBLE, even tho the 'sliders' on purple were all lower than the blue one (Hence why I tested it)
Level up even more, they'll show up eventually

If you look around there's some steam help sites that people compiled for you, shows you at what levels what you unlock & generally the weapon list
Which goes back to my point that the BARS, Bonus-Attributes and Bonus-Traits are more important than the actual Item Rating (since we will be able to upgrade the Rarity)
I think I get tunnel vision as ogryn especially behind a shield and my teammates just run off on their own instead of following me and I'm not fond of babysitting
"double" sounds way too high to be a rarity interaction.
And even further, the most important part are the Bars on an item since we will also be able to re-roll the Bonus-Attributes and Bonus-Traits on items once the Crafting-Station of the Tech-Priest is unlocked.
I literally just told you that my testing proved otherwise,
My blue item with higher bars and lower rating did half the damage of the purple item with lower bars and higher rating.
So rating > Bars from my test just now.

As for melee weapons, there should be a plethora of options at level 10.
Remember, the Roman numerals (Mk IV or smth) mean different weapons.
At level 12, I've seen a knife or two, a dueling sword, five different axes, the force sword, and 2 or 3 different makes of regular sword. Then level 14 chain swords.
Bars are rating specific. Green shows a bar from 0-20 , blue from 21-40, so on?
Yeah same grenade launcher on Ogryn.
I speculate that it could be that the rating might actualy be an 'Armor penetration' and might be like a thereshold for higher difficulties, i'll test it rq and be back to you
And I had a blue item with about equal bars (25 points higher than the same in green) deal about the same damage.
Which I for one don't believe proves anything, but there is a tendency.
If it was 10% damage difference, ok, but 50%? Nah, I chose to believe there's something different at work here.

The Damage Calculations are more complex in DT than in VT or VT2
BUT... in DT the damage calculations will also be more transparent - hopefully leading to us being able to make a more informed decision.
(note: I wrote "will be", not "are"... FT is still working on the UI part of it by turning "bars" into numbers)

I completed a damnation run for the first time ever yesterday with a pub group I just randomly queued up for a damnation and found 2 good players
I'm not sure if min-maxing is that important tho,
I mean, dealing 12 more damage won't make or break a run,
Altought I suppose some people just really enjoy the math and min-maxing, so for them data is important

It can get a bit to obsessive around numbers at times but breaking points of how many hits to kill things is massive on higher difficulties, how could it not be?
Yeh, some people enjoy min-maxing and math. And so do I, though I'm not so fond on certainty. I'd prefer enemies having a little variation in hp so there weren't any clear "breakpoints".
but, it is what it is, so a single point of damage more could mean you kill a target one hit sooner.
Yeah if that extra damage allowsyou to reduce the hit needed for something it makes a big difference
Howdy all, I'm playing Zealot Preacher at level 12 at Malice 3 and I noticed that I am straight up not having a good time. It feels that melee is very much High Risk and Little Reward especially when ranged can just chain slow you, any good guide videos out?
Eventually you start learning where to stand and what to look for so that it's not as hard, just keep playing
If the Difficulty you chose seems too difficult, try a lower one and see if you can get a perfect (no-hit) run there
before lvl 30, completing the run is far more important than trying to do a hard one and failing constantly
A no-hit run might be excessively demanding but at least it is a good mindset to progress
I just wish it felt like my time in VT2 would carry over more, right now it feels much more RNG reliant as melee then VT2 was but idk
VT2 combat is mechanically different from DT combat... and not just in the sense of "more ranged enemies". The Dodge-Timings are different, too.
you have to switch between the 2 constantly. Even as vet, I'm constantly having to switch between melee and range several times in 1 engagement
Yeah I'm probably just flying off the salt handle cause I brought Flamer to a map and felt completely useless 80% of the time lmao

plenty of discord groups steamrolling through malice runs and they'll take lvl 10+ so you should try joining them instead of working with randoms

Different patterns (as in different roman numerals) -> different variants of weapons. Different stat-distribution, different movement-patterns, different sights (on guns), etc

There's such little info on weapons you're gonna have to just buy both, go into training and test them, and lose out on the 13k or however much it cost you

Voidstrike staff feels like a total downgrade from Surge
So this is the blue weapon(255 rating) dealing 182 damage
I'd say avoid any automatic fire guns or smgs as a vet but that could be personal preference so you can't really rely on it
any tips on what abilities to pick for a veteran?
This is purple (267, lower bars) dealing 204 damage
depends on what level you are and what guns you like to use
I like being able to kill elites instantly from long distance with my skill so I take Confirmed Kill, Sniper, and Deadshot
The bars are broken they adressed this issue awhile back you can just ignore them for now as having maxed out bars means nothing at the moment. If your still seeing an issue with it id say the issue isnt fixed yet then.

Hey, how exactly do random modifiers get assigned? I assumed it was random, but lately I've been trying to do certain Heresy missions, and the only missions that don't get the Endless Hordes modifier are the only two I've done before (and im trying to complete each mission type). I've been waiting for a few hours but this still seems to be the case

get the last middle feat that highlight normal gunners. bring a high accuracy weapon like the bolter or infantry lasgun. it should be smooth sailing from there

Hm.... the Purple one has RENDING... so consecutive shots should ramp up in damage. Would you be a good lad and test that?
Just from a glance the extra pen from the purple is giving you more damage to armor than the blue launcher even though it has a lower damage stat
The Purple one also has RENDING which works as a Armor-Pen-Buff on the Player. (the debuff-equivalent for Foes is called "Brittle")
sometimes it doesnt highlight the reg gunners tho, am i fucking up somehow or is it bugged?
So many beautiful modifiers. Sadly, half of them don't work as they should, most have no or faulty descriptions, and some are broken.

yes i do believe it's bugged right now but it should be reliable enough to complete the challenge.
Well, the Damage Calculation of DT are far more complex (and complicated) than VT2... so there is obviously a higher chance of bugs

No, not confirmed.
get close to them just enough for you to reliably getting head shots back to back. keep in mind you don't have to kill them in one shot and you can miss, you just have to kill them with the last shot being headshot. the last feat refresh the duration enough for you to keep it coming
I would even go a step further and say that that assumption is actually going to be proven wrong. VT2 chests and DT shop work differently since the Itemisation system is fundamentally different.
any tips on "going out with a bang" penance on the psyker? hard to do it in pubs :(
My guess is that the items in the shop are more tied to your level than your gear... since I've observed (caution: anecdotal evidence) that the item rating in the shop goes up after a level up despite not changing my actual gear.
It's a bit hard for me to screenshot as I have to alt-tab everytime and rending debuff is over, but :
on carapace armor, I got 273 - 274 - 275 -276 - 277 - death
On flak armor I got :
204 - 212 - 220 -236 -236 - 236 -236 - death

Yes.
Also - the blast itself doesn't do rending (no damage increase), but I see the blast's damage increases if it taps the Ogre prior to exploding,
So rending - is only applied on direct hit - increases direct & blast damage, and is meaningless on the carapace armor, atleast for my slow grenade launcher, I imagine a fast RoF low damage weapon can benefit more from it,
On flak the numbers go higher, (altough many times my second shot deals LESS than my first one) But still not enough for me to care about the rending on the weapon,
Lastly, the blast radius seems to be VERY important, as the purple one loses half of it's damage over just a few cm's, while the blue one indeed does more damage over more radius as the bars show.
So my take from this testing :
Rending isn't useful for slow firing weapons (maybe at all)
The bars were closer to reality than the weapon's number,
In this case, no bar was correlated to direct impact damage, thefore the weapons' rating 'took over' and had superior direct impact,
The bars' higher blast & radius were shown however,
In the case of the grenade launcher, I'd argue that the bars are more important, as I now see the blast does much more damage than the direct hit, and having extra range is a lot.
It's basically 527 damage if in range of 1 foot, and 182 in range of 1.5 foot by gross estimate,
While higher radius can keep the full damage damage for up to 2 feet, which then drops off about the same rate.
I'm gonna stop testing for now tho as I'm not a math guy in any shape or form, but it was fun, thanks for entertaining me in that regard.
Hey guys, I'm unable to complete the penance for "Praise the God-Emperor" for the Zealot.. Says im 6/7 but Ive been up to date with the new mission releases.. im also level 28 so I dont know how Ive missed it. Any ideas?
btw - the ranged' weapons melee attacks are counted as heavy,
So for elite takedowns it's better to use it (faster bleed stack)

Hm... from what I understand, RENDING is a buff on you... so if you apply that until you get the max number of stacks and then switch to your melee weapon, you should still get an increased armor penetration / damage vs armored enemies until the buff falls off.
Since it's a self-buff and not a foe-debuff, you should also be able to use that on multiple enemies without having to re-stack
So the rending is basically a melee bonus for the grenade launcher? ^^
Looks similarly useful to the "more damage on 2nd/3rd shot" on a single-shot weapon.
The blast radiushaving such a massive effect on a direct hit is notable, though.
Rending works a bit like the Warp Stacks from Psyker... except that it's not +damage but instead +penetration

Nope, applying rend to one enemy and smacking another doesn't work, applying rend to the enemy and then smacking him works.
You're not applying "rend" to the enemy... your applying the "rending" buff to yourself.

Which would technically also mean you can apply it to an armoured enemy and then a teammate sprays him down with an smg? I thought it was a weapon-exclusive thing, though. Might be a faulty assumtion in some youtube video. I wonder if there are autoguns with rend. Should be. Why not.
I just told you it doesn't work, like, just now, in my previous message, hence you do apply the rend to the enemy.
I just - shot one enemy, smacked him, saw damage increase due to rend,
Then shot the same enemy, smacked someone else, no damage increase,
I tried to shoot, smack the one I shot (confirm damage increase) smack the other guy, no damage increase, smack first one to confirm buff is in effect - damage increase confirmed,

If, say, an smg has high collateral, and a rend trait, and fired through a mauler, would that work? And would the enemies behind the mauler also get their armour shredded? Because a high firerate weapon with a debuff sounds pretty useful in a team game. 🙂

From what I understand, Penetration only means "how much of the damage mitigation by the enemy you can ignore"... not actually increasing how many enemies are affected by your shots - but I might be wrong.
Also smacking with the launcher applies rend, so rend is only on direct hits, not explosions, even tho they're affected by it.
For now I don't see the point in rending in a big slow weapon, so for the launcher i'm gonna use the higher blast zone/damage over the direct damage/rending.

That, I aagree on. However, I assumed that an enemy with armour you can not penetrate would also stop you from penetrating that enemy and hitting behind it. Though I never tested that hypothesis. In VT2, the two were synonymous, as weapons without armour penetration also had low armour cleave.
I believe the "shoot through enemies" bar was called "collateral".

So if by "Rating" you mean "how much of the bar is filled", then that's essentially a percentage... and those are usually between 0% and 100%
If each bar can house a hundred points, I would assume the maximum to be around 400, and higher rarities going maybe a 100 higher.
400 would allow a weapon to be really good, but not get more then 3 full bars. 350 obviously also works.

Yeah, %power is a damage buff
In previous tide games, "power" was a general thing, that included damage, stagger, cleave. Not sure if that's changed. there are damage buffs, after all.

Be lucky you have stats in traits to begin with. In some languages it simply says "x% for every hit that hits x or more foes, stacks x times"
BUT some of the ratings overlap in what they do - Finesse and Defence for example

I thought finesse was the finesse multipliers, that is, weakpoint damage? Mobility and defence would overlap, though. And if a weapon has both, defence may not buff a mobility stat thatit does on a weapon that does not have a mobility stat. 👀
power likely just gets thrown into the buff damage calculation so functionally its just an unspecialized damage buff

You're right, I misremembered. Defence and Mobility overlap... and if the combination of both bars are over 100%, some of the actual stat is lost since it is capped
Here's hoping the unlock changes don't work like in VT2, where they changed a weapon unlock to a lower level, unlocked when you reach that level, and then the people already higher up didn't get it at first. 🤦♂️

Tox flamers are always dreg. Meanwhile scabs have snipers, just as an example
if you have a bolter, pop ur passive in a large group of enemies and then use your ult to get the damage boost and go full auto into the group of enemies

It's hard to say what mission type you're missing. They added a "Repair" mission yesterday. Otherwise you might be missing a mission type that isn't available right now, like "Disruption"

Yeah this, mind the damage is way less than if you had no toughness at all
Yeah. Depleted Toughness means 100% health damage, Full Toughness means 10% health damage (the percentages obviously refer to the amount of damage the hit would do)

it's not an itemlevel... but you can get over 400. The Item Rating is tied to the Rarity so it'll be more likely to get 400+ on blue and orange items than on grey and green

It's not an itemlevel... which means that higher rarity items of the same "basic stat" will ALWAYS - NO EXCEPTIONS - have higher rating. But since you can upgrade the rarity of an item, that will also increase its rarity by adding perks and traits... but keeping the base stats

Yes and no. More doesn't automatically mean "better". Some Traits don't affect damage at all but still increase the rating... so an item with a lower rating might easily do more damage than one with a higher rating
So I'm level 20 and I have not seen a Purple rarity item show up in the store once, is that normal? it was not like that in the CBT

When you inspect a weapon it should show you what their primary and secondary attacks do: Void Strike is the Warp Ball/Grenade where Void Detonation is the Ground Targetting AoE.
Smite is the Lightning.
Coruscation is the flames.
It makes sense, maybe the staves have some sort of conduit that helps calm the psykers roiling energies
You also move faster when quelling with a staff

So there's a Vet Penance to complete a mission on Malice or Harder without taking Melee damage. How have people been doing this? I feel like you want a strat involving an Accatran for mowing down hordes, probably to try and find a "Fewer Hordes" mission, and a weapon with decent block, but I haven't managed it yet.

Why did they change the gloves? For the killshot the heresy penance I know its a small thing but also not really ALL the other tops have those fingerless gloves except the kill shot and then they just said nope fuck that and gave it copy and paste? I've also noticed unlike VT2 where I knew for sure an enemy was about to attack me and roughly which direction in the horde they were coming from to turn to block, I just... can't seem to hear the audio cue for it when I need to in DT.

not in every case, i have lower gear scored weapons that are more powerful than some higher gs weapons that i own
higher power rating, which does mean more stat points. However you could have a rating 200 and a rating 400 revolver with the same damage stats

In general, higher power rating is obviously better. But where the stats are allocated is vitally important is my MAIN point here, and how lower tiered gear can still hold up

an item you get at level 3 will probably not deal damage like one you get at level 30 for sure. but theres a lot more going on than just player level.
The Bars in the Item-Tooltip represent ABSOLUTE values... they do NOT represent values that scale with your level. So if you find a L3 item with a fully maxed Damage Bar, then that item will ABSOLUTELY do more raw damage than a L30 item with only 1/3 of it's damage bar filled

The devs did mention that they're aware we want better stat transparency, keep eyes peeled for the 30th
any weapon of higher of much higher rating will have more damage "effectively" than one that is massively lower, from pen to finese so you hit more making you do more damage, saying one is higher then yeah you're right, but reducing a weapons effectiveness to a single stat doesn't make sense, because it will still have higher effective damage

As I said, since Shop Items are Item Rating Gated by your actual player level, increasing your player level will give you access to more powerful items... but not everything you can buy at a higher level will automatically do more effective damage than things you had access to before.

even then, if the differences are in defense and mobility for example and the damage bar is the same, it probably wont deal much if any more damage
Well, the Bonus-Traits and Bonus-Attributes on Orange Items account for up to 70 "rating"... so if you have a white 350 item and an orange 400 item, then that white one is better in terms of base stats.

The big problem I've had with lack of stat transparency is that it's hard to tell that, even within the exact same weapon type/mark, XYZ weapon will differ between ABC weapon. It's been tricky knowing if say, this low-# weapon just rolled high on damage while this high-# weapon rolled low on it, and so forth
worse is trying to compare weapons of DIFFERENT types since the min/max values are totally different the bar comparisons are worthless practically

Stats on curios depend on your class. Toughness is more effective on zealots etc
Health is really nice for them, toughness, stamina, try to have one extra down at least.

Upgrade your item tiers (i.e. blue to purple) so far. There are more options for crafting, but they are still locked for some reason.
Some very wrong answers in here. If you throw the grenade at a very specific angle it will blow up in the air even close range. Practice it in the psykhanium, it's about 45-60 degrees up. And dont hold the fuse, just quick toss it.

Charging does more damage yes. Bosses youre probably better off brain bursting, unless they're assassination bosses then you should use a force sword
I do know that it explodes in contact with first enemy but does continue traveling through unarmored/flak, pretty sure Carapace stops it

Is the Shocking Stuff Penance for Preacher bugged? I know I have killed more then 50 in a single grenade stun but I still don't get the Penance.

So when I use the thunder hammer I noticed that sometimes I'll do wide sweeps back to back after only heavy attacking once but others it makes me completely charge another heavy attack to sweep again. Is there a trick to keep sweep attacking or am I just doing it wrong somehow?

There is also just some straight up bugs with some of the charge attacks from experience, notably for me in psyker staffs, specifically trauma where it will immediately start charging regardless of input after release

Evis is currently strictly superior afaik, the default AP that’s supposed to exist on thunder hammer is currently very under tuned
What's the verdict on good main traits for curios? I play veteran so I've been stacking toughness curios due to vets high base toughness.
Also having a hard time choosing between shotgun and flamer, flamer is amazing for hordes but shotgun feels better to close gaps and take out those pesky specials before I can get up to whack em
They are weapon decoration probably. Go to a weapon, then the appearance section, then click the other tab and you should see your trinkets
Max stamina, max health, max toughness. If this were Vermintide 2 I would say more important than all of those is curse/corruption resist but 🤷

There is also a point where wounds are more useful than HP, but that’s only really on Heresy or higher, and stamina has diminishing returns for certain weapon types

I know but not every mission has grims like V2, so if you’re doing a grim mission I would suggest just having a trinket with corruption resist in your back pocket to equip in the lobby rather than have it on at all times when something else could be more useful in a normal mission.
Also straight up I do not know how corruption resist interacts with elite/special corruption damage
I think they're separate, at least based on curios. There is corruption resist and corruption resist (grimoires)

So I was thinking about possible support classes and the best idea I could come up with is a Zealot - Tech priest
In concept this would be a esoteric class that focuses on buffing your teammates and manipulating resources for your team
The grenade slot would be replaced by intense burner that has different effects based off the users inputs (similar to weapons like the hunting horn from monster Hunter)
You could have unique melee that does the same thing with different effects.
As for an F ability I just adore the idea of sending out a servo skull to a teammate to buff their crit chance significantly.
This was just a neat little idea I had and wanted to share.

The bolt gun is incredible. A lot of people like the shotgun for its alt ammo fire and stagger potential, but I personally use the bolt gun.

the boltgun is good for quickly killing armored ogryns at close to medium ranges and that's about it, it feels like, though maybe I'm just bad with it
Yeah I liked that one too, I've been trying to use the bolt gun for taking out ranged enemies for my team but it's also a great 'oh shit' button

Getting used to its iron sights is rough, honestly. But when you do and combine it with faster reload perks it shines.
for taking out ranged enemies I prefer almost any other gun because of the bolters awful sights and relative inaccuracy, again maybe I'm just bad, but I find it easier to headshot people with the shotgun's ads or the autogun's brace than with the bolter

It has a ton of kick, too. So your 2nd shot+ is really rough.
Really just means slow rof for long range
That’s why you pace your shots.
use low ammo guns (revolver, plasma and shotgun, shotgun best imo since it's the easiest to hit), play missions with extraction endings so your passive doesn't ruin your run, don't pick up ammo and mostly shoot chonky targets so they don't accidentally die, otherwise cosplay a zealot and fight melee, don't bother with regular veteran stuff like killing shooters

the bolter wracking is also really annoying, and it seems to trigger from the most minor stuff, also it has a very low ammo pool, which would be fine cause the revolver is great and it has a low ammo pool except it's alot harder to control than the revolver and alot less accurate than the revolver
Yeah, snipers and other ranged enemies feel like our domain as veteran so I'm trying to get a good lasrifle for longer range engagements, but in the interim it's all about the bolter ^ ^
Perks are passive properties on the weapon (+10% damage to ragers etc.) Blessings are traits like bullets shred armor or something, or headshots give 1 round back.

Yes it is. Requires more accuracy and less spammy, not good at hordes though I’ll still shoot into them until they close

If you don't like bolter, the recon lasguns are great. They shred hordes and range targets, and those that aren't dead yet get suppressed

I hope it doesn't get nerfed too hard. It's a power sword, they are literally designed to be crazy. Maybe damage nerfs, but keep the crazy penetration because that penetration is the entire point of the power field.
If anything, real power swords are always on, so we already have nerfed half broken old power swords

You need special collectables, « tech priest currency » to do so
There are more reliable spots for it but that’s one way
The ogryn doesn't perform as great as zealot and vet, because currently those two don't really need cc to perform well

I was more struggling with getting shredded by ranged enemies and the enemies not swapping to melee while you were close
So I found myself sitting around a lot waiting for my other teammates to deal with that
