Scabs: all the traitor guardsmen with lasgun and some armor. Their melee are bald and they have a mace-like weapon.
Dregs: They mostly wear yellow. They are the second type of mobs. Think of cultists. They use autoguns and their melee are shirtless.
The two type of ennemies have their own elites. Like Scab Shotgunner, bomber and such. The only type of ennemies that has nothing are the poxwalkers (the zombies).

Anyone know if shots on a bulwarks shield count against your accuracy?

holy shit
So would this mean.. you could theoretically get 120% or more crit chance?
so I've been testing out other options for the level 25 feat for sharpshooter, and I got to say I really like the 30% reload speed on elite kill in combination of the bolter. Still trying to settle on whether I stick with my chain axe or try and hope for a power sword/ chainsword.
whats your combination on sharpshooter feats so far? ive been really indecisive
I'm curious, has anyone gotten the guardsman helmet yet?
It's not possible since there are not enough game modes to complete the challenge. 6/7
has anyone been able to do a disruption mission without queing for quickplay?
Empty chamber makes no sense, your gun only has 1-2 chambers depending on number of barrels
these are my feats, and this is the bolter that I have been using with this setup. all in all I find the build is decent for dealing with most things except bosses.
Anyone got an idea of how the power scaling increase works beyond level 30? By that I mean there seems to be a pretty standard scale of power increase of weapons as you level up, but once you hit 30 it seems to just sort of stop. I've tried getting higher power weapons in case it works by way of the weapon power of new weapons is based on the weapon power of what you have, so for example I have a power 407 shotgun, my thinking is that I should (eventually) see weapons of power higher than this, and yet I don't besides those sold by Sire Melk.
Do we know which enemies are classified as elite, and which are specialist?
@tough epoch sadly YOUR classification isn't what my penance uses 😛
Elites i pretty much classify as "the ones that take a lot of skull fractures to kill"

no clue. if it's based off vermintide 2 then it might either depend on what your total equipped item rating is or your highest purchased item ratings
max rating ?
Everything triggers off elites and specials the same
Drat, been looking around the forums, the subreddit etc and there's really nothing on this at all.
anything you can mark I'd call an elite, since I have not seen anything that listed elites and specials as separate.
Ran it through a test in the meat grinder, seems like it crits a lot more when under 20 rounds in the mag... Chambers might still mean "magazine capacity"
Specialists = Pox Burster, Pox Hound, Scab Sniper, Scap/Dreg Flamer, Dreg Bomber, Scab Trapper, Mutant. Specials are essentially your "if you don't kill these ASAP they will immediately disable and/or otherwise cause you imminent and irrevocable harm"
Elites = Gunners & Shot Gunners, Bulwarks, Crushers, Reapers, Maulers, Ragers. Elites are effectively mobs that do nothing particularly special but have higher HP pools and increased damage. Also can spawn in significantly higher concurrent numbers than specials.
Hi guys, few days ago playing was smooth, but today after work all my games were super laggy. I dont know why. Happened to u? is unplayable. Couldnt change weapons or thorw grenades. Super Laggy games.
your boltgun is abit nicer than mine haha, but otherwise I pretty much run the same feats, though I do like its firepower on bosses if you mag dump them but I havent played any higher than difficulty 3
It and the name make it obvious it was written for the revolver
But the icon is a magazine, either way looks like it left home
Implying that we can even hope to fracture the skull of an Ogryn.
Its every other part of the body that fails first.
do skills from characters stack? say two ogryn with the 100% toughness healing skill?
Has Fatshark mentioned anything about when missions turn over? I played the Relay mission launch day, and it hasnt come back up in rotation since then. But we have contracts for it. What the hell
Seem to.
I'd just reroll that contract tbh, no specific word yet.
It's really annoying because Relay Tower is probably one of their best maps. Literally the only one that has an out door segment, which is refreshing when every other map looks like the same underground drab
will there be a patch now? fatshark are kind of silent right now 😄
Any tips on doing the ''Just a flesh wound'' (Completing a mission in under 10 minutes with less than 1 wound remaining for 75% of the mission as zealot) Penance? Not sure which mission type is the shortest
I know, I really liked that map and want to see more of it
Supposedly more missions today. But the desert one was broken and caused crashes so its out for the moment.
so is it 2 minutes until the rumoured update?
People are just speculating cus that's when Steam's "daily reset" time is (aka when games get released on steam).
There is no official word on when the next "stage" of beta content is supposed to be aside from sometime today
That time was kinda pulled out of nowhere. I don’t think anything official has confirmed it, and tbh id imagine we would’ve seen something from them by now
I swear to god im dying to the dumbest shit,
3 snipers stacked ontop of eachother are unbeatable unless you got some ranged headbursting.
Trapper and sniper just poping out at the worst times.
This time our team died because me and another ogryn couldnt make a stupidly short jump
Psyker relevant lets gooooo
also no update. RIP.
What's the best talent feat for veteran at level 25?
right right right... This is the flamethrower?
Depends on your build tbh.
Yes.
So what are the best options depending on the veteran build? What's a better choice for which kind of veteran?
Which missons have scabs? i feel like i played though all of them and none of missons increase my contract meter. except specials like scab shotgunners.
I find deadshot amazing if you're stacking stamina boosting curios, and tbh i find it works with just about any weapons that has an ADS function. Ones without it not so much. The faster reload on elite kill is kinda nice but personally i find that if you are in a situation where you need to reload that desperately, you're probably better of just retreating to cover or pulling out your melee.
Thank you
does anyone know if the item level of items in the shop depends on the level of gear you have, ala Vermintide? Wondering if I need to keep buying higher level gear now that I'm at level 30 to keep raising the shop item levels
Just asked this quesiton as well, seems like its not at all clear, i'm testing having my higher power items equopped to see if that does it but doesn't seem to. Nothing really above the 400 level has popped up at all. Most i've ad is 407 and that was when i was like level 27
How does first target damage work exactly?
Is there only five missions in the beta right now?
+-8%
Hey guys, how do you dodge a Mutie? is it possible to sidestep them?
I’ve managed to break his ankles a few times, dodging left or right works sometimes
Yes, best time is when he raise his hand and is about to grab you then dodge left or right
Depends on the mobility of your weapon, you want to get to the side and behind if possible because be can turn slightly
So what kind of curios does everyone run? whats been peoples go to curios?, ive turned to stacking more health than toughness, with like one extra wound
anyone know if weekly missions transfer between operatives? or is it seperate for each
Separate weeklies, pennances transfer though
What are the timeframes for the shops refreshing?
every hour, so in 30 minutes
thanks
Double dodge in way advance, also obstructions help as they can run in only a relatively straight path
You can dodge to the side to avoid hounds, trapper net and mutants, yes.
What classes are good for supporting? I know Ogryn is built with support in mind but who else? I already play ogryn
Ogryn
So scabs/dregs/traitor guardsmen… how should we evaluate these different enemies in terms of difficulty etc?
Hey All, apologies if this is the wrong channel. Regarding achievements. At what point should you attain "Circle of Trust II - Complete Path of Trust chapter 2." Is this based of the rep of your current character or something else? As I've hit 10, so I would have thought to hit it by now.
Smash until dead
idk i assume it comes with the cutscenesu getf or leveling up
It's the level it says in the upper right corner on the quest
Yeah I just mean like, let’s say there are both scabs and traitor guardsmen at the same time, which are more dangerous?
kk, I'll have a search. thanks
Hiya, where should i stand as the ogryn? I charge forward and take out incoming waves but always seem to get hit from behind as teammates can't take out the enemies i've stunned, new player btw
In my experience, the charge isn't for breaking up waves in hordes, but ought to be used to stun priority targets. You might have a better time with a bit more defensive minded play
Anyone have a good map to do the cliffhanger psy penance on?
I think the level is 11
How good is power on kill stacking 5 times?
ah yes i do find it helpful to stun the ragers and mutants as well maybeI should save it mostly for that
whats the best way to get mastercraft gear ? should i just buy it from the contract shop or gamble ?
Best mission to do this penance on, have yet to see all 4 at one time like that only seen 3
Krourk Mk V Twin-Linked Heavy Stubber has anyone seen this weapon for ogryn? - and at what level? im 22 now and havnt seen it yet
I'm looking for tips on how to properly use lightning staff on a moment to moment basis. Lets assume a gunner party pops up behind the party. I whirl around and then use rmb+left click without charging to get some of the gunners. Sometimes it seems like i only hit two or three enemies, other times i hit more. Do I need to sweep my mouse over more targets or is it just an rng thing? Do you then continue to just hold rmb and spam left clicks, or do you pace your left clicks out?
Should be available to you now, I think it was level 20 for me. Just rng now if it pops up in the shop.
is there any way to re-watch some of the cutscenes? i accidentally skipped some by clicking back into the window
Zealot 5% Toughness regen is still bug?
how do you move 70 metres in a bull rush?
What bug, you need to be in melee range of 4 enemies.
check out this steam guide for people's reported unlock levels on various items: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2890127609
thats the guide i was going off was just thinking if it was wrong / outdated because i havnt seen it
unfortunately unlocked in stores doesn't mean stocked in stores, haha, i've only seen one voidstrike staff since lvl 19 (not that it seems that amazing compared to the lightning staff)
Can psyker use bolt rifle?
how do i unlcok the imperial edition content? on release?
Yup
Thoughts on this autogun for a Vet? I personally haven’t messed with the burst rifle yet and just want to see if folks think that’d be worth the 2k tokens
Is the contract shop the only way to get purple/orange rarity items?
Damage looks too low
No, it's possible to get them in the normal shop and from post-mission rewards.
hi guys, question does anybody of you know what unyielding enemies are
Ogyrn's
I think it means the enemy will never flinch/stagger from any hit. Bulwarks, for example
Reaper, bulwark, pogryn and BoN.
Unyielding is just the name of the armour type.
Oh, you can stagger Bullwarks if you have enough poise damage. Ogryn Shield-Heavy can stagger them if you hit them in the back.
Hello I have a questionm, for the quest "vantage point", can someone explain me how it works?
You know what, I've been attempting to find the information, but what does Collateral mean? Everything else makes sense to me
do each of the misson types, sabotage, assassination, raid etc. You cant finish it i think because they havent added the repair mission or atlest I havent seen it
My friend has 6/7, while I have 4/7
either a bug if you both did the missions or maybe some you didnt finish. unless hes played alot without you.
I believe that means like the explosions maybe or just the each bit of the shotgun thingy
I've noticed that a few Autoguns have the stat too. And some Burst Lasguns
Zealot 5% Toughness regen is still bug?
trying to do the dodge 20 attacks without taking damage - what exactly are the parameters? now that im going out of my way to try and do it, it feels impossible. I've somehow managed to get to 17/20 before I started to care about unlocking that challenge reward
Should I just run up to hordes and side/backwards dodge around them for a while?
yes
does consignment yard map actually exist? I have a contract for it but never seems to be available to play
What is "power"?
Has anyone actually done the make every shot count penance legit? Can it be bugged like the no melee one? I really want it as I have completed all the other cosmetic penances I got all the pants and just missing the helmet and this top how do I get this done? I am getting frustrated
just use all your ammo and dont miss a shot then dont pick up anymore the rest of the mission
Everyone says this but people don't seem to remember that Veterns auto regen small amounts of ammo when their team mates get elite kills near them. SO it forces you to play away which is pretty much a death sentence with how insane the director can get like 3 back to back mutants or like 5 dogs. Its not as simple as ammo burn at start and melee cause you will always be getting more back
true, i guess youll just have to keep wasting your ammo as soon as you get it and stay far away but close enough to get saved, of course this would be easier if you had a group to play with
Isn't the Flamer a Zealot exclusive?
What level do zealots get flamers
When does this start happening, then? I'm at level 30 and I'm still get 2-3 blues and a ton of greens and greys, yet to see a single purple let alone orange in the shop.
Also is the psykhanium bugged or do all of the weapon stats aside from ammo do literally nothing? I've been testing different versions of the same weapons with different stats and there has be 0 difference in performace. A weapon with 20% damage meter is doing the same damage as the same weapon with 60%.
There's a bug in the psykhanium where if you swap weapons the stats get messed up, so that might be what you're seeing
Gotta love how I have to use a zealot for a vetern challenge just got my vetern lvl 30 today
Can you even get a class Penance as a different class?
apparently you can
Does anyone know how to voice ingame?
Have we worked out what "Impact" is yet
I know that a weapon's Bash special attack counts as a Heavy Melee Attack. Does anyone happen to know if the Push Block Attack also counts as Heavy?
Presumably stagger
Stagger
default key is V
This seems useless, is it?
So if i got it right, a lasgun with a torch can't bash in meele?
0 damage
So higher impact results in a longer stagger duration? Or they stagger a further distance?
exactly, the special button just turns light on and off
you need a bayonet to melee with a lasgun
is ability damage affected by character level?
I'd argue the lights better. I just pull out my sword if they get too close
I see. I also see weapons having a MK/MG followed by a roman numeral, does that mean that higher = stronger? And is there a way to have a decent comparision between stats of different weapons or do i have to keep wasting money and try them in the psykanorium?
Hi guys. I have a question. Which of these two weapons is better? one has better stats, but the other is legendary :/
Test in the meat grinder
The different MK numbers just indicate that they are different weapons. For instance, the MK I and MK IV Catachan Swords have different movesets
I don't have the legendary yet, I don't want to spend 1700 weekly quest coins if that's going to be, but that's why I'm asking 😛
What guns are essential for veteran on difficulty 4 and 5?
Meh
Wait WHAT? Theyr'e different weapons? So like what's a difference between a Lucius Pattern MK I and a Lucius Pattern MK XII?
has anyone completed the veteran penance of 100% accuracy and no ammo remaining on heresy? any weapon recommendations to make it easier? i'm guessing the shotgun would work best
Maybe not the right place to ask but does anyone know what the "Dialogue Trim Volume" setting does?
Shotgun or maybe revolver. Maybe something like a bolter or plasma gun if you have access to those. Auto rifles have horrific ammo too, but might be harder to get 100% accuracy
have they dropped any new one when the new missions wil start?
Similar Weapon but basically variants.
For Dueling Sabers I know that mk5 has overhead heavy but Mk4 has stab heavy.
My guess would be that the difference between guns is scope, whether fully-auto ot semi-auto and whether flashlight, bash or Bayonet
The different marks generally have the same sights (with minor variations in the Lucius lasguns). Each mark will generally differ in ammo capacity, damage per shot, and fire rate though
e.g. MG VII Kantraels are closer to high-damage single shots, whereas the IV and Is are more well-rounded
I highly advise collecting one of each mark of weapon, they differ enough that you want the various options
can flamers even do weakspot damage?
Can you block with force sword as i seem to take damage when i try? Also the one i have has deflector
I imagine it's all RNG - I've received purple drops and saw purple weapons in the shop and I'm lvl 24
You can block with it, it's just a very low stam weapon so you can't block much.
Blocking reduces time spent slaughtering heretics anyways, and therefore, is in itself, heresy.
Its the God-Emperor talking through you
Nah, Khorne.
Is 430 the maximum weapon rating? It seems like it is.
Btw, do we have some Wiki on what lvl we unlock what weapon?
is the Lynchpin Feat for Ogryn bad? i'm not a fan of using a lot of heavy attacks, but i can only find builds around that
I'm still wondering if it grants increased toughness restoration from all sources or just the passive cohesion regen. That would make a huge difference in effectiveness one way or the other.
@soft talon Nah I've seen 460, some people here have said 500-ish.
@sour depot There's a steam guide up about it right now https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2890127609
Really wish fatshark would clarify...I have looked all over and I don't think a single person knows how this works.
is there -any- way to get a space in your name?
for increasing item level do i need to buy high ilvl items whenever they come up or will it increase as i grind normally? mine are at ~ 300 rn
I want to get ready to take on Malice, and I'm a level 19 Veteran. Is there any sort of setup I should look to before I start tackling it? Like, level 20 first.. Should I find a Plasma Gun? What sort of Curios am I looking for, because all I found were Toughness ones
i think it's only for the passive cohesion regen, i really wish there was a build for light attacks
Classic pascalCase or under_scores
dudes, whats the 6th mission type? i have 5/7
People have said this but I have tried myself and buying a bunch of mystery items did not make it go up by even 1 rating. I don't think so. No idea how it works.... Are we sure people have gotten to 500 or even above 430? It seems like my rating progress full stopped at level 30.
It's really more about how comfortable you are with being defensive with dodges, blocks, pushes. +10% toughness isn't exactly what's gonna save you from dying, it just helps.
heres the one ive seen above 430 not sure if its worth it tho but the extra crit on dead shot for vet would be nice
i think i saw a screenshot of 500 but i havent seen anything higher, though people have said theyve found higher
Well opening mystery items doesnt make it go up...feel like buying random weapons from the shop would be kinda weird system. Maybe you have to get emporers gifts?
EDIT: I just reopened my shop and it has a 395 and 415 rating weapons at orange rarity, had 427 yesterday. So maybe at level 30 its just like really random anywhere from ~380 -> 500?
Should I stop heavy attacking then and focus more on these actions then?
The game is literally in beta, expect them to refine it
yeah im honestly not sure theres no credible resource at the moment it seems folks are still digging around figuring things out with stats weights as well
At least from Vermintide 2, and seems to be Darktide so far, you generally want to find a balance between defensive and offensive stuff, ideally you can dodge while keeping damage up but that's a perfect scenario. Positioning also means a lot, not letting yourself be surrounded or caught by ranged enemies out of cover.
A lot of success in Malice 3 is based around your ability to stay in close proximity to your teammates, even moreso than V2's Legend imo. Keep your back to a wall, stay stacked close together, get familiar with your melee/ranged weapon picks, and learn how to kite well when weaving in ranged shots. I can second everything Meep is saying, too
How many Monsters will there be in the full game?.
What on earth is 'Brittleness' haha
anyone know what specific weapons other than chainsword for zealot that cause bleed?
Eviscerator
Sorry if this has been asked before but does holding left click for longer give you more damage?
Not without a weapon trait
One of his talents couse bleed on crit so u can say all of them (if i remember corectlly)
whats the easiest way to complete on overwatch ?
How do we get the Gas Mask helmet?
oh I see ty!
Ok cool, what is that trait called?
The catachan combat blade (That is the dagger, right?) seems pretty bad when I've been trying to use it, it doesn't stagger any horde with its strikes its cleaving seems really limited and its light attacks do poor damage, but when I search "Catachan blade" everyone's saying how it's amazing vs hordes. What am I missing?
From what I understand, Rending is armor penetration FOR YOU ONLY, whereas brittle is armor pen for everyone
Is this what you're talking about?
nah its that. I guess that's what I'm missing lol
The dagger has a trait that gives it 3 bleed stacks on every hit. Seems like this would make up the damage quite well consideirng how fast it is
It has extremely high mobility for dodges, and very fast attacks. Plus what Me said
I see, is it known if there is a maximum bleed stack limit, how long it lasts and if it applies to bosses/minibosses? ;0 obviously it's a new game and i can find it out myself, just curious.
Is anyone finding that queing up with people is a million times harder then like just going in with randoms? SO many more elites and specials and non stop floods of enemies rather then randoms where its normal
Could it be a modifier on the mission?
In vt2 bleeds just stacked forever
Question about Rager enemies: I heard someone say it was better to dodge them than block them? or that maybe some of their attacks are unblockable? I feel like one of my teams' weaknesses rn is that we don't manage those enemies correctly when there's more than one of them (or really in any situation where we can't manage them by having 2-4 members focus fire on their faces until they stop existing)
Has anyone gotten the preacher challenge where you have to kill a mutant while dashing? I can't seem to get it, I've tried dodging and killing it, using the preacher ability to kill it, a mix of both. Not sure what they mean by kill a mutant while dashing.
Yeah, their end attack hits really hard and it WILL break your guard (considering his combo hasn't yet), so it's better to gain distance instead. They're usually priority targets for me as a Psyker.
Yup, have it. My tip is to charge up before dash, then release the hit while dashing
Is the trait something you have to RNG for bleed? i noticed the dagger i have doesn't have bleed with it
are all blue weapons supposed to have a trait? combat shotguns don't seem to get one
how in the hell do you do the deadeye penance? it seems impossible
@white steeple pants one yeah. 5 highlighted enemies, weakspots during volley fire
what was that one again? i got the pants for it
This feels like a dumb question but what does the number of bars a weapon have do? Like on melee weapons it's the number of pushes but it's also on ranged weapons and it doesn't seem to significantly affect sprint time(?)
i'm sorry what? you mean as a general trait of the dagger? i have never seen it cause bleeding, nor does that show up in the meat grinder
oh. the beast of nurgle makes that super easy. i got mine on my first encounter with one by volley fire and hitting the weakspot on the back. its massive. weakspots range on different enemies. like. if you get 5 headshots on a reaper. that should also count.
so what level will i start seeing the heavy guns for my ogryn?
Yea i saw it on an orange trait.
Using VT2 terms b/c idk what they're called in darktide. Traits are the named abilities as opposed to properties which are just +5% damage to x or something||
@rich cobalt Its def in the game. It was on an orange weapon for me.
Anyone have a good brain burst psyker build?
pretty sure every blue I've ever gotten on Ogryn had a trait, yeah
I think the beast of nurgle has a weak spot on the mouth too I think?
oh I thought it had to be 5 different enemies... but this is on heresy not malice
also, how do you know which missions you've done and havent done? which types of missions
okay so it's a trait and specific to a dagger you've seen and not something daggers just do, which is unrelated to it's general usefulness or not as a weapon. cool but not useful in the evaluation.
Bleed is really not that good. It enables a bunch of great Ogryn perks, but by itself we’re talking single digits damage in the psykanium, vs guys that have hundreds or thousands of health.
I am imagining it is specific to the dagger. It just seems like something that only the dagger weapon would do. Havent seen it on anything else
a little thing called memory. if u pay attention to the mission list you might recognize missions you have already done. keep in mind that quickplay prioritizes getting you into a game ASAP so its not uncommon to sometimes get back to backs of the same missions if they are popular for whatever reason.
@tacit fern literally remembering what missions you have done before...
Hey, has anyone completed the cliffhanger penance? If so how did you do it?
memo-what?
also I thought there like only 3? investigation, the ammo run and assassination
Im trying to. But its fucking borderline impossible. The ammo raid or investigation mission has some places that could allow for 20 kills from falling, but for now no luck. Doesnt help that you cant force it to only matchmake you with bots
Wait, so you don't have to kill 5 during a single use? You just have to...get a weakspot kill during volley fire? And then do it four more times?
Is there any idea of what the "shredder" stat on chainswords does yet?
There's a place in the evac area with a consistent scripted horde in the investigation mission, but I've only gotten to ten so far
I think I did it on a mission where you run along an upward-sloping, narrow catwalk to get to the extraction shuttle at the very end. hordes keep spawning there, and they're pretty easy to push off
i literally got it while shooting the weakspot of the beast of nurgle. idk. i didnt even kill it. the wording may be weird for it. or i got it on a bug? idk
the wording makes me think u need 5 seperate enemies weakspot. but technically i think you just need to hit an enemeis weakspot 5 times in a row.
Run Espionage on whatever difficulty with high hordes. Towards the end there is a tower you defend from and only 3 walkways in. The third (exit) you don't have to defend. The other two you do. The hordes come from those. Just push block while staying still till you gather up enough then move forwards to the side while push blocking and then Ult them to the side off the bridge. Your teammates can defend the other walkway or help you out while you do it and the hordes don't end until someone does the objective so you can just do it over and over again until you get it.
I asked in general but got no reply so asking here coz it seems less... troublesome, plus it was just brought up, has espionage been disabled? I haven't seen it all day?
Anyone know which mission spawn Scabs?
what's the highest level item seen at that point?
Scabs are Guardsmen and Dregs are Cultists (yellow shirts) its random what spawns per mission I think
i found the desert map has alot of dreg spawns. but its really a mix. its like skaven and rotbloods in vermintide
Does anyone know how to turn on a ping count
The highest I’ve seen is 456, perhaps max 500-600?
I believe 463 has been confirmed
Feel like theres no way it goes over 500.
@paper coral yes. I am dumb. Will report to commissar to receive the emperor's blessing o7
will there be more ability choices for classes on launch? Not sure fi that's been talked about
Hi everyone!
how does melk's contract work across multiple operatives?
is the currency shared / are the quests account wide?
at launch there’ll be 4 classes, and they’ll add more subclasses like in VT as time moves on. I can only hope they aren’t paid
How do I farm towards highest gear rating most efficiently?
does anybody know scabs
Do you mean talents? I very much doubt the classes are going to receive MORE options, probably some tweaks for release though
Hey can i get clarification of zealot penence Just a flesh wound? I dont get wound part, do i need to be less hp than one wound for most of match or what?
Play whatever difficulty you can win more than 50% of the time, so you earn consistent XP. Losing gives you very little and it’s not worth losing on higher difficulties over winning lower ones
Wounds refer to the "segments" of your health bar. Once you have corruption (the purple health) into the last segment, the next time you go down you die. Your max wounds are determined by the difficulty you're on and your trinkets.
If that doesn't answer the question, let me know what the wording is, cause I don't know it haha
in vermintide. this was done through crafting because you were guaranteed to get what you wanted at a high power level. but rarity was RNG. in darktide atm, the melk shop will have guaranteed good rarity items BASED ON YOUR LEVEL. thats the big thing. you won't get high power high rarity items as much or at all starting out. gotta grind ur character up.
Anyone got a tip on how to do the zealot penance where you gotta kill 50 stunned enemies in 10 seconds? And before you suggest hordes+flamethrower... didn't work X.x
Im already 30 I just dont understand if I need to keep buying higher items or do something specific to get emperor crates
The preacher Up close and personal, I just beat a mission where I Melee only'd the entire time, but DC'd twice, apparently it doesent count? Is it due to the DC or does it just not work on Malice difficulty
i wanted clarification on achivement rather than wound part
rng from the base shop. or melks then it seems. until crafting is introduced
So uh, when the update comes out, would anyone be willing to help me with the cliffhanger penance? its driving me slightly insane and i'm going to have a psyker moment any second now
Wait, this is why I like vermintide more! I couldn’t put my finger on it but something large seemed like it was missing. You have far less control of your class than in the previous title
A lot of the penances have the wrong difficulty listed. The Psyker penance to stay at max charges for 5 minutes actually requires difficulty 4, not 3. Probably the same thing in this case
You have to be less than one bar for at least 75% of the at most 10 minutes match. If you take exactly 10 minutes, you'll need to spend at least 7.5 minutes with less than one full bar
Is the Helbore any good or does charging suck
Thanks, just frustrating to DC so much (TRhe whole squad DC'd twice) And then not even get it
@rancid flame you could also upgrade the rarity of ur items if you had the right components, so if you got a blue rarity weapon you could ugrade it to orange. the progession rn is super grindy and rng based due to the shop and all. and it really sucks that you can't share items across characters like in vermintide.
anyone have a good ogryn build or know where i could find 1? atm in lv 24 and feel really weak in malice and above levels.
What's the recommended player/weapon level for each difficulty?
I think for the achievements where it requires you to spend 100% of the time doing X, reconnecting at the end counts as a fresh start. So you could be shooting the whole time, DC at the end, reconnect, board the plane and get it - I think.
I am worried this kind of thing might lead to a progress reset haha
I’d say 1-5 for 1, 6-15 for 2, 16-24 for three, 25-30 for 4, and 30 for 5
With how bad these penances are to even get idk why I'd bother unless there's no cosmetic shop options on launch
Anyone else feeling like better tier weapons don't actually deal more damage? I just made a new character and my starter gun (85 rating) kills normal enemies in 3-4 shots whereas my lvl 30 vet's gun (400 rating) kills normal enemies in 2-3 shots. Are we actually making any progress here or is it all a lie?
Forgot to mention this was all in lvl 2 difficulty @polar sandal
depends. i was doing malice games at level 6 onwards because i played alot of vermintide at champion difficulty and have decent fundamental skills for keeping alive, and didn't notice my weapons lacking in damage. but the golden rule for tide games is to jump up a difficulty when things start getting to easy to the point of being boring.
@shrewd pendant different weapon types do different damage, espeically ranged. the blue kantrael lasgun has better ammo capacity and higher rate of fire. but does less damage per shot than the green coloured and longer barrel one. which has less ammo, slower ROF, but higher per shot damage. different melee weapons have different move sets which can affect dps. one of the axes heavy is a downwards swing which means easier headshots which means higher dps
the imperial edition is better than most of the available sets anyway lmao
Idk the Ogryn and Zealot looks kind of ass
There is a minimum level, but yeah waht Nipper said. If I see below level 10 without clear proof that its an alt that is 20+ (through frames/purity seals etc) I'll dip out of a 3+ difficulty lobby
Anybody know how to get that Veteran faceplate with the goggles? I don’t see it in the penances
What levels do new weapons unlock for each class
does anyone know how the Dream Team penance works? I think it might count against you if people late join/get netted/dogged/ or mutant'd
I really like the slab shield. It kinda weaponizes how massive your hit box is, since all the other enemies are gonna shoot you anyway, might as well make them waste their time. I play ogryn more as a tank to soak gunfire and protect the little ‘uns, though I’m only 19 so I don’t have access to the bleed+bleed dmg resist perks, which apparently helps with durability a lot
In what world should my 400 rating blue kantrael deal the same damage as the starting 85 rating pistol for a psyker?
The higher level items DO generally deal more damage, but it does depend on their actual damage stat. You can specifically test this in the Psykhanium though - it will literally show you the damage numbers.
@modest wagon because it kind of depends on when they show up in the store/you get an Emperors gift its kind of hard to say precisely. If you're looking for a specific weapon/s, let us know what class and someone can probably answer
Is this where we go to escape the chaos in gen lol
I mean it barely deals more damage, it's like all the progress was irrelevant. As long as you unlock the certain type of gun you need, even if it's gray, it'll get the job done and you can complete Heresy with it almost just as easy
No.... (yes)
at what ranges? lasguns apparently do more damage the further away you are from a target. while stubbers do more damage close up. i'm not expert on the bar stats but generally in tide games. power really doesnt matter as much as people think they do. the important thing for weapons is if they match your playstyle, and their perks. i would rather a power 250 blue rarity weapon with good perks. than a power 300 salvaged weapon
All good, I checked that steam post. Idek what weapons are available. I want an actual sniper for my veteran
Play with a team in discord, and just hang in the back away from big melees. Paranoia is key because lame ass poxwalkers will sneak up behind you so just be constantly scanning.
I just have a question. is anyone elses bane of existence a trapper/flamer combo, having that happen and just sitting there watching myself cook as my two level 12 sharpshooters refuse to pull out melee weapons is honestly the premiere darktide experience
You just reminded me that I had the perk where I deal more damage when further away and 25% crit chance when scoped on my lvl 30 so the difference in power between the 2 guns is even less than I thought. Why do games do this, just say that the guns deal the same damage? Feels like I'm wasting my time trying to make progress and find better gear
Sure but damage isn't the only stat. For example mobility - I think - lets you dodge further, which is super useful, staffs have quell speed etc etc. All that does add up.
If you keep your starter weapon and then compare it to a level 30 weapon, you will notice the difference. The other important factor is the traits. The first force sword I got was OK, but getting the trait that lets me deflect ranged attacks while blocking is a HUGE difference
Also a small damage increase might push you over a break point - which is a big deal
Also also, certain weapons are going to be more effective against certain armour types. My high level melee weapons still only deal 2 damage to a Reaper, but do a fair bit more against flak/unarmoured
trappers are super deadly if they are left alone on the field. and both trappers and flamers can be dodged quite easily if you a positioned correctly. not to mention they are easy to tag and kill. as for not getting rezed. rezzing is FAR harder in this game than vermintide, even for ogryns. and well, if you are sitting in flame. no one is risking their skin and toughness to rescue you till the area is clear.
really wondering how much of an effect these stats have, on testing the 390 power staff generates ~4.3 peril per light attack, and ~13 on charge, vs ~4.8, and 14 on the 303 staff, the quell speed difference between the two is ~.5 seconds at most, blast radius is near idential in my testing, and damage i cant control for due to how different the power levels are. 4.5% quell on weak spot hit is also INSANE my light attacks cost 0 peril when getting headshots, and i almost instantly quell charge attacks when i hit a horde, its a wild roll on that staff! Also, why do i have +8.5% reload speed buff on a staff :P
My biggest issue with trappers is that I'm getting an audio bug where they play the net shooting sound like 2 to 3 times before actually shooting
for sure for sure mostly im just meming as its just hilarious to watch happen, but the psyker/sharp reluctance to melee in clinches is honestly a problem lol ill be holding off a horde and that will just occur behind me (where my teammates are ) the enemies spawning out of nonexistent floor holes at times probably doesnt help either though
the game actively works against you at times lol. while dead i have literally seen spawning enemies CHANGE to be more annoying mobs if they party is doing well lol. tldr of surviving in tide games. dodge and block. always.
I mean the blast radius isn't that much different, so I'm not surprised that the difference isn't noticeable. Also lol at the reload speed.
possibly an FAQ, but anyone know what the weapon/curio rating cap is? highest weapon i've seen is 412, i assume it goes higher.
yeyeye, its not problematic for me to an extent, the worst part really is just keeping 3 other randoms in cohesion man. the desire to walk off alone for these bois is strong, i do not understand it lol
I just got this from a mission, i guess you can get golden items from completing missions
yeah the blast i was least surprised by, resistance too, it would be nice to have integer values to compare the two other than that, but i believe the devs said its planned. I cant get over how good transfer peril is on staffs is though, it makes them wildly efficient for hordes, and they are already nuts for CC.
gamer mentality, and the fact that vermintide does not punish drifting away nearly as much as darktide with the tougness cohesion system. it also makes clutching INSANELY hard because if you arent a class that can regain tougness, tough luck. as the last person (sharpshooter) i literally 1v1's a bulwark IN MELEE by circle strafing. only to be killed by ranged mobs while taking shots from behind cover cause i literally could not regain my toughness fast enough cause everyone was dead
ah here this channel is. i thought i remembered it existing. alright ill ask here: at what level does the veteran unlock the boltgun?
~20
just a skill issue that won't be a problem later on. Vets should be looking around for elites no matter what's going on
Yeah man - the void strike is my favourite by a long shot. People say the lightning staff is better, but I disagree. So much damage, so much mobility, the no-charge-charged-shot still staggers and pens. Luv me void strike
biggest thing for ALL new players for tide games. biggest advice i can give, is prioritize on STAYING ALIVE. sure, you can clear a horde faster by just left clicking, but in the long run the damage you will take doing so will not be worth it. if you can learn to block and dodge so that you can get out of engagements with 0 damage. you are far more valuable of a teammate cause you will take less resources
lightning staff is really solid, but its too support heavy for my liking, its damage is lacking but the stagger is wild for CCing elites and letting teammates kill, fire staff is fun but i feel like it relies on DoT procs more than innate damage from the staff trauma is fun but weird to aim. Voidstrike has sooo much versatility, DPS, CC, horde deletion, hits all the spots. Plus it goes boom!
yeah ive gotten my block dodge down pretty well here, only mob to clean it up on is rager, but thats just because of how many different weapons im using etc / different situations, swing times kill times bla bla
I think the reason we see a lot of splitting up is for two reasons
Searching for stuff - ammo/scriptures etc. Splitting up lets you do it faster so less hordes etc.
With the ranged enemies, being able to flank is quite important. Trying to have a firefight when everyone is all clumped together is a good way to get stuck, especially if you don't have a linebreaker like an ogryn
for the mission types, is it locations or missions? afaik there's only 3?
oh boy thats high
two options with ragers. either A, if you have the stamina you hold block till the combo ceases before attacking. OR i found that if they are unarmored ragers. you can just back strafe and shoot them to kill them. if you try to attack them while they are attacking you. you WILL lose that trade.
if you have a weapon that you KNOW can oneshot one in melee by testing in the grinder. you can go for a hit and immedietly dodge after. ideally. the attack will kill them. but if not. ur dodge will save you from taking additional damage
< flamer user, and i play zealot so what i usually do is charge up a heavy special on evisc chain axe/sword and if i have the space and they arent in the late hyper armor phase of the chain dash into them for the interrupt and one shot heavy special charge, only problem is if there are 2, because then im stuck with the slow recovery from after the charge heavy
Ragers are the same as berserkers and plague monks. They've always felt kind of janky to fight imo. Staggering them only sometimes works and their hit range is a lot longer than their animation suggests. Even though they aren't that dangerous, they're still one of my least favourite enemy types
just hold block 5 head advice for literally everything and anything /S
theres 6 missions in game now, 7 when repair is added, theres raid, assassination, investigation, disruption, strike, espionage, and then repair
oh derp, i've been looking at the symbols
So I cant do the 7th for the penance?
where is espionage!!!! I swear its gone!!!!
ngl with the force sword the show is insane, it can stagger enemies a good bit away then you can close and chop 'em up. The charge on it too can 1 shot almost all elites and specials too.
@tacit fern the symbol indicates the mission, only a few of each type are avaliable at a time. But yes, sadly you cant do the penance. :(
what's a good level for difficulty 3?
15+
psyker 30 here, I prefer lightining staff in heresy+ runs. because we need crowd control
ty
A good fire staff is really good for cc too, can clear hordes on your own and stun some of the elites
I haven’t seen the desert mission since day one
They switched it out. It's on a turn table or something
I haven't seen that one at all!
One of each mission? I only have 5/7?
if you have good communication its not too bad at 10, if youre solo queuing youll probably want 15, especially since you get better gear at those levels.
@real portal yeah on damnation i usually run a fire or electric, since I can go berserk with the level 30 brain burst perk, void staff still does super solid control with its explosion and penetration. On malice I just delete shit with the void though lol
Also bear in mind that level 3 sometimes just decides to dunk on you and you’re doomed to wipe.
If you have a good team you’ll probably be fine but if not you will die
Yeah to be fair, I've only done one difficulty 4 run and I could see that the voidstrike lost a fair bit of effectiveness from dropping below some of the breakpoints it hit at difficulty 3. I assume getting a high level staff will probably bring it back to those breakpoints though
why? special spawns?
Mysterious stats strike again
honestly not sure which is better
i went a whole day trying to get a high score void staff lol, it was starting to hurt, I have a 380 fire, 410 lightning, and only just now for the 390 void
Special spam, big hordes, both at the same time, sometimes both and a mini boss if it’s feeling really mean
Yeah honestly it was quite funny playing difficulty 3 and finding it easy on my psyker, then going to my level 3 ogryn and being bored at difficulty 2. Don't want to be the guy who turns up to difficulty 3 while still wearing pyjamas though haha
@desert fern yeah I'm hoping post release will have some better systems for getting specific weapons, crafting etc. I'm 28 now and I'm still using the first VS I got. I've had one other turn up, but it wasn't very good
the first one should be a good bit better, ill explain those stats:
Cleave: amount of enemies that can be hit with 1 swing
Hit mass: The inertia in the swing, decides if the swing will continue or not, armor automatically stops it
Penetration: effectiveness vs armor
Shredder: damage when revved
Mobility: swing speed
Damage: well damage lol
the perk on the first sword essentially makes it much stronger versus armored enemies, the second gives it better CC on chain attacks, although I dont believe it will outweigh the higher stat on the first sword
thanks, that helps
yeah, id like to see a sort of gear progression system, maybe a screen that shows your progress, level unlocks, weapon breakdowns, stat breakdowns etc. Crafting is coming on release theyve said, I hope that gives some late game content to perfect weapons and such, and make the mid game easier to get weapons you want, maybe even stat rolling could come with it id hope.
Level 3 WITHOUT modifiers like darkness, endless horde, or fewer hordes is doable at 10 if you’re decent, and comms help a ton. Those modifiers can quickly make things go sideways though.
I wish they'd show the numbers in the bars
my shop has only 2 items that are higher level i think its bugged any ideas?
I don't know how item rating works but I know that it is random and that you dont permanantly increase your rating by buying more stuff like in VT2. I know that for certain.
I love going through an entire mission and then getting disconnected rught at the end. Game really fun but goodness some of these bugs and server issues need ironed out big time
Which classes get the bolter?
Like... is damage bars the same even if the value of the weapon is vastly different? A level 100 sword vs 400+ has the same damage if the bars are the same?
zealot and vet
Dmage bar is a scaling damage multiplier from 1.25 to 1.75
yeah endless horde is brutal at times, its a super fun modifier though, I still find it comedic how the lower horde modifier makes you get bonus rewards though, an easier mission and more pay for it lol
@kindred raptor usually the weapons float around your gear score, slowly increasing, if you want to go faster buy weapons that are higher score, even if you wont use them as it will raise the score for the next reset
@mental basin if you scroll up a little i broke down 2 of my different staffs, buy n large the bars have a very small change in performance, usually a few % (i think it might be a scale of something like 1-25% change off of base stat) Gear score will almost always mean more damage though.
i understand the +1 wound (1 bar) but what is the +2% health? it seems.. super underwhelming compared to a bar
You get one major stat and up to three minors
It's cause of the low power rating, and it's an extra trait
thats just the secondary effect, blues usually only have one minor stat, the higher the score the more powerful the stat, purples and yellows can have 2 or 3 stats respectively. Also be aware that +1 wound doesnt increase your health, it just divides it more, so you can be downed more, but have less health per stage
wounds doesnt increase health
hmmm
can anyone tell, who is "Corruptor"? I need him for achievement "Something in your eye"
Are some penances just stupidly grindy? Like.. Kill 40.000 enemies and stuff like that?
the eye that shows up after you destroy 3 tentacles
the eye that you have to destroy on infestations
@tacit fern yeah, they just happen over time
@desert fern @worn relic Thx for the info
Np
anyone how how to get sick chest pieces for veteran
penance challenges, every class unlocks armor pieces through their penance challenges
when you're in the hub press esc and click the penance tab then class bracket
Still no idea how to run the not getting any melee dmg penance for vet :< all others, sure, skill. I suck, tis can't be helped but i still see the possibility of me somehow getting lucky xd but no dmg? Just how
Be warned though i think the penances for veteran are the hardest to do by far
yeah i just had a look and i wanna cry
You got a source for that info on the weapons level front? just because its been a question going round most of the day and no one has anything concrete for once you hit level 30 of how to increase the weapon leavel.
anyone got any Preacher Lifesteal Penance? If so what tips can you give?
anyone know if its better to gamble rather than buy the master craft items ?
is there a way to set the reload button to a secondary key while still keeping it on R?
Just my own observations so far, it could be tied to player level, but I’ve noticed that going through my second class when I got to the 20s I had issues and was just farming the store and got a solid gear increase form that. But it could also be a range that they can be from. Also might be tied to rarity, purples and yellows seem to have been much higher scores than blues, but on the contrary also seen some white up there with my blues and greens sometimes lol
Out of curiosity whats the highest you managed to hit? Seems everyones having trouble getting much beyond the 400-470 range, few people claiming 500 but nothing solid to back that up.
My highest is 436 on my sword, I’ve seen steady increase by buying constantly higher score, but like I said that’s just my theory
shop refused to give me force staves and force sword until I hit level 20 so I had to play psyker like a budget vet for 20 levels. Now that I have a good force sword and voidboom staff what toughness regen perk better fit them in your pro psyker experience "Replenish 10% Toughness when you kill an enemy with a Warp attack." or "Replenish 5% Toughness for each 10% of Peril quelled."?
I assume its going to follow Destiny gear rules where the items that drop/are available are determined by your highest item level stuff. Unsure if it would be by slot though
Is it true that the penance "Warp Battery" is bugged and only work at difficulty 4?
is there anything like in vt2 where if you had 1 class with really high power weapons it kind of transferred over to your other classes
Yes. Can confirm. I have the penance and I did it at least 3 times on difficulty 3 and nothing, did it once on 4 and it worked. Even used a stopwatch when I was difficulty 3
guys what is it on english version?
Dumb question: What counts as a warp weapon for the psyker talent that increases damage based on perils? I'm assuming force swords and staves, but is it all aspects?
@fiery wagon 10% per warp attack is 100% the best, your staffs can instantly replenish toughness with that perk
What weapon is that from?
My latest buy. I think its gonna be a good one
Its a lifetime goal kinda thing to strive for, it's also across all characters so it's not like just one class
IDK about you guys but I stopped buying weapons other than upgrades once I found kit that I like. Once I hit max level I'll probably pick up all the items I don't have
@young mulch Staffs yes, swords only for the charged attack afaik.
@abstract jolt very rusty, but I believe that is warp siphon, which is 4.5% peril replenish on weak spot hit
I guess its that one
thanks, also I've been using "+15% combat ability cooldown reduction on Elite kill (Allies in Coherency)." ut wanted to try out "Whenever you or an ally in Coherency kills an enemy, you have 4% chance to gain a Warp Charge.", is it any good in your experience? Does it synergize well with "While you have maximum Warp Charges, gaining a Warp Charge instead applies 4 stacks of Soulblaze to a nearby enemy, prioritizing Elite enemies."?
So, after level 30, you don't gain any new level right?
Maybe? The words aren’t right though, unless it’s just a weird translation, I’m very rusty with the language though
Then this one if its staff
Lame that it doesnt' apply to the sword
Yeah that’s possible, the first word is warp, I know that @sour depot
@young mulch yeah but that would be wild though lol, zealot would be weak compared to that
@fiery wagon give me one minute and I’ll get back to you
How do we feel about the curio instead of weapon?
if you have good weapons already and don't anticipate getting better, seems alright
ok how to do the 20 ledge push challenge im lost
I dont even get weapons
Hey guy's is it better to do mission in the requisitorium and buy a weapond that he proposed u or to open boxes with random stuff ?
Chasm Logistratum with endless hordes has an easy spot to do it, near the start hug the left. Very narrow pathway
I would like rather have some buff that helps complete game, like HP or something but that's me
this
I was actually going to ask something along these lines, but my cogitation engine (brain) froze, so thank you for reminding me.
What are the odds, if they've been published, for the Mystery Boxes, are there any influencing factors, and what have people's experiences with them been?
no chasm missions available 😩 but thanks, i'll keep that in mind
HAB Dreyko is also easy with a cooperative team, during the evac section at the pipes
I bought a couple mystery boxes before. I've gotten white items out of them. Don't really seem like the risk unless you have a lot of overflow.
do yall know if the push 20 people off ledge in 2s as psyker penance is additive or if u have to push all 20 off at once
I agree. Great for farming I suppose if you’re going after a perfect set or something but otherwise it’s a bit of a gamble.
Single instance, All 20 within a single 2 sec
In 2 s means it's in 2 seconds. so at once
peps who are playing vet, what build are you guys using the most so far?
The Torrent Espionage mission has some good spots for the ledge mission as well, though it might be a bit more finicky to manage.
Any ideea on what veteran level does the Accatran lasgun start dropping?
Then i think its that one
i dont get this. its been at 6/7 forever
Gotta wait for the next update, repair missions aren’t available yet
The last mission type isn't out yet
Either cooldown bonus or the charge on kill, the soul blaze one is kind of weak, as it only effects one target and doesn’t do a lot of damage, the cooldown synergy es great with the end of tree skill that makes your head pop cool down super short after ability use since it makes your ability always charge faster, I use the one that gives warp charges personally since my build is more focused on staff use. Give me a few until I’m home and I can send you my skill tree
Anyone got some tips for the cliffhanger penance for Psyker?
Not incredibly high level, but I absolutely love Lasguns, especially the Accatran Recon. Also, the Shotgun is, unsurprisingly, fun.
I thought Autoguns were good initially, but I'm less of a fan of them now, though some of the Autopistols with enough ammunition and magazine size can be fun (personally, I like the Accatran better).
The Hellbore feels like it should be more fun than I've had with it in practice
I haven't gotten my grubby, underfed mitts on a Bolter yet
RIP 😭
Higher difficulty with endless horde on any map with a narrow ish bridge, Force push them off and it’s simple as that. Not sure if it’s placebo or real, but I believe the higher your peril the more force your push has. But don’t quote me on that one. The block shove with Force sword also works but is weaker, and thus a little tougher to get although can be spammed
Honestly my recommendation is to wait for release haha the knockdown and stagger feel kind of inconsistent at the mo
anyone know what this means? as in i do more damage the closer I am?
this has been stuck at 9/15 for a few runs now. anyone else have the same issue?
My single experience with the "Let Sire Melk lootbox you" was not great. Got a Base-tier Autogun.
Losses don’t count if you do die, could be a bug however
I always want better 🥺
i thought the same about the autoguns, by now every single one of them i grabbed on had a lot of recoil, not a big fan
I haven't used auto guns much at all, but in my experience the las guns seem better. I am curious if we're going to see snipers and long las though
didnt die. didnt lose the match either
IMO the Burstfire Autogun would be better if it had a little higher damage and much reduced recoil. On par, I would say, with the Accatran in how good it would feel at what it feels like it's supposed to do.
Might just be being slow right now who knows, sometimes it takes time to update
Maybe one or two with more being Reserved for DLC sniper class in future
I hope they alter the force sword special attack. Being staggered out of it blows, since you don't do the damage but are still locked in place and still get perils
Yeah :/ but it’s so damn satisfying 1 shotting ragers and maulers lol
Considering chain weapons do damage the longer they hit for and don't have an opportunity cost, it seems weird. Hopefully they just speed up the animation by like 3x
Well, i'm confused on how you're supposed to do the zealots penance where you need to kill a mutant, i feel like i've done exactly what the penance said yet can't do it
AR Lasrifle felt better, much to the likings of killing elites/specials and even the ogryn type enemies, autogun feels better against horde tho, runned a loadout with it and an axe to kill elites/specials
Dealing with Ranged unit as Ogryn on malice diff and higher? i feel without mace and shield i just get turned to swiss cheese
Zig zag slide
i'll try, although i dunno how effective that will be against 20 ranged units
Pretty sure force sword is the worst weapon in the game. The alt on it doesn't give warp charges and takes an eternity to go off. I literally just died because a flamer started blasting me while I was in mid animation.
Honestly dealing with ranged elites isn't your problem. You should try and pull their attention while the squad kills them. If it's just mooks, gettinf behind their lines is good, so that they stop shooting and either switch to melee or run to new cover giving your team time to either shoot back or close in themselves
For anyone who has purchased an orange from the aquisition weekly store, what kind of modifiers are you looking for?
yes, yes
hear me out tho
(i'm basically ogryn)
Thanks for the advice! I've had imposter syndrome for a while and i thought i did a bad job by just rushing in and try to melee them
its slow but super powerful, you just need a good roll / power level, the alt is slow but does more damage than the chain swords against armored targets. its block / shove is also probably the best since it can get wild modifiers
@restive crystal depends on the weapon, usually if it sounds good its probably really good
I forgot to post this lmao this one is mine
das pretty good, wonder what a legendary version would look like stats-wise
edit: these chat timers are killing me
Nah imo the ogryns main job is to be a line breaker. Probably the most dangerous situation is when the whole squad is pinned in a single area with a bunch of ranged enemies shooting at you. The ogryn has high toughness and a charge for precisely those reasons, to get behind the enemy line and give the party breathing room
will keep those advice in mind next time i play! Thanks again
25 Zealot and still no Thunder Hammer in the Shop
Just use natural cover If you have no shield. Your team should be dealing with those.
I think u just unlock it on lvl 24 or 25
Uhhh what the shit is that second perk lmao
@slow fog 100%, the ogryn isnt a tank in the sense he can take a lot of fire (although he can) hes more for drawing fire, and paving the way for CC and DPS to get attacks off
@fiery wagon this is my staff build, head pop build is 222313, for the 6% resistance per charge, 6 charges, faster ability cooldown
Ogryn with shield is best ogryn. form an impenatable barricade soemwhere, let others do the killing past/through you
Doesn't power increase dmg? that's a dope axe
I've read people that unlocked it at 20 😦
Thunder Hammer is lvl 25
and it won't appear until the refresh after you've turned 25, if you're lucky
my first refresh had a grey one
my next refresh had a nice blue one, that needs trust 28
@slow fog i believe power correlates to heavy attacks, but im not certain, could be blanket damage buff, buff to blunt damage vs armor. im grasping at straws here lol
Unlocks are always going to be gated by the store and emperors gift. Its wishy washy when you will actually get a specific item.
@desert fern my comment was just me marvelling at how busted strong that is
I was using this as reference so may be wrong
@rapid widget 87.5% increased dmg at max stack plus the crit and ignoring hit mass(i'm assuming that's some kind of armor?), sheesh
edit: my bad Zeldric, i replied to wrong person

When you are waiting on the ascender , start it then run back to the stairs and deffend at them. ALL the enemies come from the top of the stairs then .
It's quit accurate i follow it too and have the weapons at the same level at markt
As you said, it is some kind of reference. For example I unlocked flamer at 11 but couldn't equip it until 13
ah yeah, its a WILD roll, waiting for a master crafted force sword or void staff to come today
only 2 locked items appear in my shop and its been like this for hours any ideas?
Yeah its 🎲 im 22 and still didnt see boltgun💔
Why does the lightning staff shoot force blasts for it's basic... seems wrong
No problem buddy! You’re the best! 🙂
Anyone know if i use 2x 10% dmg resist (gunners) will it stacked to 20%?
does the zealot get the power sword?
Hit mass is basically "cleave resist"
It should, so i would be suprised if it doesnt
hey so is there a rule of thumb for reccomended trust level for each difficulty?
any zealot builds ?
Rule of thumb would be "when that diff lvl become too easy/boring." Ive seen people with lvl 29 dieing like nooby on diff 3 so its different for everyone
dont touch lvl 3 until lvl 15 if youre new to this typa game
ive played a bit of vermintide (like 40 hours i think)
So is it just me or they made one of Agripina autoguns litteral ak in space ?
Anyone here think some of the penance challenges are a bit excessive? The grenade one is difficult but it can be easily done with good map knowledge and timing. However, the "On Overwatch" penance is absolute trash. Take no melee damage on Malice difficulty or higher? Who thought that was a good idea in a horde shooter with lots of big heavy hitting enemies. I know with Sharpshooter you can sit a good distance away but 1 boss enemy or a single dreg can instantly ruin an entire run not to mention ruins teamplay on harder difficulties. I've straight up heard from people that they cheese it by completing a mission then lagging themselves out of the match then rejoining it to complete the challenge. Like what the hell?
Keep in mind the game has been (kind of) out for literal days so far. I'm sure some of them will get easier as we get stronger and get more used to the game. Also I'm sure some of them will be unlocked by sheer playtime haha, that's kind of what I'm expecting for cliffhanger, one day I'll just get it
To be fair , game is way harder then vermintide even on harder difficulty , all thx to new enemies and way more aggressive patter
Also can I switch game into English ?
also count getting hit by the dog or mutant for challenge
I think the difficulty is kind of hard to judge at this stage. It definitely feels harder as a VT vet, but also I don't think I started playing Champion difficulty until I was max level with decent gear. Now I'm at difficulty 3 and finding it too easy since around level 22ish with pubs
Today I learned that SOULBLAZE is op. The damage doesn't scale linearly with the number of stacks but EXPONENTIALLY

LF a list what an infested, unyielding etc enemy is
I noticed this too. I don't know if it makes it OP though - it's too fiddly/inconsistent to get it to stick to particular targets. I can see it maybe being useful on bosses, but even then most soulblaze comes from headpopping elites, which aren't always in ready supply
You can get soulblaze on nearby Elites by simply gaining warp charges when already capped. Level 25 talent
If you go into the Psykhanium, some enemies have an "armour" type of unyielding. It will actually say what type of armour you're hitting when you hit them (which is useful for determining what armour covers what parts of an enemy).
Infested I'm not sure, I think thats probably the trash mobs
how does wounds differ from the increased health buff? doesn't additional wounds also increase your overall health?
What is mean 1 ability on 2 tier
Wounds is the number of times you can get downed without being killed
Ah yeah thats true. I'm not at home at the mo so I don't have the talents in front of me (I am a psyker main though).
@crimson hearth Wounds are the amount of times you can go down/how much corruption you can take before you die, represented by how many times your health bar is segmented. If you have corruption in your last segment, the next time you go down you die.
How many segments/wounds you have is affected by difficulty, trinkets and probably archetype
Ah, I misunderstood what the bars were for, figured more bars meant more health
I'm going to try the Psykhanium. Is there anything on Breakpoints yet?
Nah I have like 40% extra health, but still only 2 wounds on difficulty 4
where do you see the sire melk challenges you pick
Is it possible to do the vantage point penance where you do every type of mission?
soulblaze may be good with the fire staff.
all void attack kills will restore 10 toughness, this means whenever i use my staff, or brain burst it restores toughness, so i can become nearly unkillable as long as you use the staff into hordes and such
does the ogryn level 15 lead the charge work for himself
Is it possible to have purple/orange items on vendor ?
Not that I'm aware of, but honestly, probably. I've not made any effort to look yet - I figure its all going to be super duper in flux until maybe a month post release
The difference going from 3 to 4 is staggering. I play solely cata in VT2 with almost 900hrs and there are some moments in Malice that are just unavoidable instant TPK like bursters running around a corner or a grenadier that bombs you during a horde, or packs of armored berserkers.
Meanwhile, level 3 feels like a breeze when you don't have fresh level 8s who run off like it's call of duty
I love to dodge/crouchslide spam. Creates so much useful room that a normal dodge doesn't cover.
Yeah thats definitely fair. IMO bursters have way too much health - they are literally covered in bombs, like 3 shots from a las gun should detonate those fuck bois.
Bombers are less bad, but their stagger is some bullllllshit. If you get hit by the explosion, you get staggered, then you try and walk and get staggered again cause there goes your toughness and if you're being shot at, at that point your dead
Push bursters
Fire in general is some genuine bullshit. It just DESTROYS your shields and there's fuck all you can do about it until you just die.
@bold token the lightning staff I've found to be amazing into them actually
well thats surely interesting, if that does work and isnt useless, that could make LMB almost surely 1 shot normal enemies, and RMB do insane damage, but im gonna assume it doesnt work lol
Bursters are the equivalent of the fat bois in L4D and those lads are squishy as hell, cause of course they are. Darktide bursters do WAY too much damage to take that much punishment
Also THEYRE COVERED IN BOMBS
has anyone done the ogryn 70 meter dash?
if bursters do that much damage, they should be easily killed at range, not take 5 seconds of sustained fire, or require late game weapons for the burst damage
Literally nothing about the Boomer and the Burster are similiar tho
unless you count them exploding if you kill them and covering you in bile i suppose?
otherwise its just a suicide unit
Yep, I almost never try and kill them with conventional means (other than MAYBE brain burst). I always go for a knockdown, since that sometimes just detonates them anyway. Before the last patch, the psyker ult was excellent for dealing with them, now though I feel like the psyker ult is maybe bugged, cause sometimes I'll use it and then get slapped .1 second later by a mook in melee
Psykers - Why do you passively gain chaos corruption damage?
The tutorial only taught that once you get too high in your little % system, you'd take damage.
It's a fat boi that runs at you and explodes, so not a perfect analogy, but I think its a fair comparison. Getting hit with a boomer attracts zombies which honestly isn't as bad as taking 3/4 of your health off and getting a wound worth of corruption, plus they are WAY squishier than bursters. So less threatening and easier to kill
When you have a grim in your inventory
AHA.
Man I did not connect the dots there. Thanks man!
ok
I see people going to sires shop for master crafted and legendary. Is that the only place to get those tiers?
This is the second time I've seen this mentioned. I never gain passive corruption other than when people are holding grims, but then yeah I'm like 95% certain you do get corruption creep past the normal threshold.
Like I'm almost certain I've had games where we are carrying grims as a psyker and I'll randomly slip into near death mode despite no enemies around and the grim corruption threshold not being enough to put me into near death
corruption is only dealt after taking too much damage, getting knocked, or if grimoires are picked up
And emporers gift. Is it confirmed there is a rarity above master crafted?
We all did in our most recent game, super perplexing and didn't notice it was connected to when I picked the book up, I assumed it was a Psyker trait.
Also, at what threshold % do you take damage?
Is it at 100? 90? 80?
I legit could be imagining/misremembering it but I'm pretty sure I'm right
I thought that was only a vermintide thing?
if youre talking about peril meter? 97% is the maximum you can cast at, 98+ you die. Some staffs may be different, i try to stay under 90 for casting unless its a boss fight, then i brain burst, go to 97, repeat
@soft talon if there is they must be wild, those master crafts already get some wild rolls
Riiight...
But do you take health damage before you die, or do you just instantly die? - I have yet to have it happen as I am trying to avoid self forever sleep in a game 😛
I am a lvl 1 psyker so.. assume I know nothing
If you mean grims, I believe it is 25% max hp reduction (represented by corruption) per grim the party is carrying, modified by any corruption resistance (grimoire) trinkets you have equipped.
You die if there is corruption in the last of your health bar segments and you go down
If there is it's prboly just max rolled everything, like how Vermintide did it
Are there any good builds for Ogryn without focusing on heavy attacks? looks like most of its Feats are focused on that, or at least the useful ones
lets just say theres a penance related to killing enemies after your peril gets over 100% :P You make a ~3m explosion when you go over the limit
You have a chance to trigger your F to cancel the deth animation, there's a delay ASSUMING IT WORKS CORRECTLY between when you go over the limit and bakoom.
what's max gear score and is it more worth it so work on GS what? i see a mastercraft in the store 106 trinket but how good is that ?
I can't seem to login to the mission hub, getting a "handshake fail error" on loading screen and if I am lucky enough to get past the loading it kicks me out due to nonexistent room error
I forget this so much lol, you have to spam f the second you start to die
@dusty anchor highest i see is a 140 trinket and a 472 axe at my sire melks, assume it can go higher
between a chain axe and a eviscerator, whats better? if i have one of the two already, should i even bother with another weapon until i hit 30?
The highest I've seen is 471, some people have said 500-ish is the highest they've seen
@copper sluice Your F/ult
Eviscerator go brrrrr
What does "combat ability" refer to?
largely preference really, thats the beautiful part of this game, theres very few weapons that are just objectively better
@copper sluice thats your F ability
That should be your ult
is it better to save my weekly tokens right now till i get a better GS?
Ult, career skill, combat ability all the same
thanks the reason im asking is if i should save my coins for next weekly so i can get a orange weapon or go for a more immediate upgrade :>, guess ill stick with evis for now until i hit 30
Ok psykers... the main question again... how the hell do I push off 20 enemies?
lmao, I got 8.5% reload speed on a trauma staff.
Personally, i'd say no. Spend them if you want. But yeah, once you get to 30, i dont think it matters, can keep saving until the limited time items update or try your hand at the mystery boxes and then yell at Ranald when you dropped 2k on mystery boxes to only get salvaged stuff
is this worth it?
Restore 10%? But it's 5-15 in description, and it increase something
You mean 40k Bardin, no?
id say yeah thats pretty fkn pog
By using the force sword or your F right next to an edge they could die on or Force staff alt fire explosion does knock em off
The espionage mission at the very last hack, let the enemies pile up on the bridge and knock them off. Chasm Logistratum, the raid mission, near the start there's an extremely narrow path if you hug the left. Very good place to do it with endless hordes. With a cooperative team you can also do it on HAB Drayko, in the evac area. There's a bunch of pipes that makes it easy to knock enemies off with a cooperative team. @keen harness
so, as a zealot(i've been flitting around between all four archetypes so i've been hovering at low levels), i finally got the heavy sword/falchion and i don't know what to feel about it. it constantly swings between "wow this feels like ass" to "yeaaah fucking do iiiit".
how is it for other people and am i doing something wrong?
Do the higher difficulties have a better chance of drops at the end?
Idk, is that the 40k equivalent. Im not well versed in the 40k lore other than knowing that there are no good guys and only death.
personally i hate the heavy swords, i used the combat axe(mk 4 specifically) until i got chain weapons
@grim relic@haughty umbra Thanks lads
is the new gear score you get base on currently equipped stuff or?
Does the sharpshooter penance where you have to clear a malice or higher mission without taking melee damage refer to just health or does it include toughness?
I meant that the VA of Sire Melk is the same as Bardin... and therefore if you want to yell at anyone, it would be "that dude"
So, Malleus Monstronum is kinda.. unachieveable rn unless you have a really patient pub?
Just FYI many of the penances that say must be completed on difficulty 3+, actually mean 4+. The Warp Battery one for example
Think it means health damage, there was another class that had a similar penance and it was health damage
doesn't matter, if you get hit in melee at all you take chip damage to HP even if your toughness stops it
Doesn’t Veteran make Psyker obselete in the late game because of plasma rifle and the bolter being way efficient and stronger than Psyker’s non-scaling brain burst?
i wouldnt spend them until you're level 30, sire melk is mainly for late game progression, getting super powerful weapons and such
@keen harness much easier and higher difficulties, get a horde on a bridge, such as the beginning of the chasm station mission, line em up and knock em off with your ult, or force sword push
@abstract jolt sorry i thought you were talking about the first perk, that one buffs your force weapons (sword / staff) based on how high your peril is. For example my force sword does 65 at 0 peril, 75 at 100 peril, my void staff does 300 on headshot to 330 on headshot from 0-100 peril.
So can’t get hit…. That’s ridiculous
In the lategame Psyker is far better at melting Hordes
WHY MUST YOU HURT MY PSYKER BRAIN
But on a serious note I think Psykers have their own utility, being AoE with staves in the higher difficulties. I dunno though, haven't played 4/5 enough
No of course not.
The psyker can burst from cover, so long as they can peak the enemy. Also brain burst isn't literally the only thing a psyker brings to the table. They also have their own ranged weapons, like staffs and their 10% damage increase aura.
Flamer staff bothers me so much. If you charge it up, you get tapped once and lose your charge or you get hit before your flame registers and you lose your charge. The best thing about it is procing brain burst talent. I've gotten more warp charges from that than I ever have with the 4% to get one on kill
I just want a stave that isn't trauma. there's a reason i never used conflag staves even though i was a sienna main, and it takes for-karking-ever to get another one
psykers have their own purpose, they can 1 shot specials and elites without line of sight, dont need ammo, etc. Brainburst is but a small portion of what the psyker can do
Surge is fun
The staffs are also practically a well of util
For some reason I couldn’t one shot a pox hound in Heresy, I assume because of low power level I have so it sort of scales with my strength?
The trauma staff is more or less universally considered the worst one. Lightning staff is the second one you get, which is considered good due to its CC ability.
k thanks ill save then and stop looking till i hit 30
BB doesn't scale with your gear. It only scales with the number of Buffs from your Psyker class passive (up to 12% / 18% depending on talents)
Question: What zealot feats are currently bugged/broken?
buff ogryn damage please
So in Damnation it’s basically/sort of useless
BB should kill a hound in one shot, mutants on the other hand don't get one shot by BB, other than on difficulty 1 I think
@grim relic What? No.
BB lets you kill around a corner and without needing to aim (mostly). It is extremely strong. It also gives warp charges on kill which boost the psykers damage
No, not really. You can still 2-shot Bullwarks with 6 stacks... and 1-shot hounds, too... in Heresy even.
Is there a way to 100% get the extra item after the game? or increase the chances?
kinda, with the BB build you can still spam them like crazy
definitely the regen. i can't tell if the double-toughness regain from melee kills works because i don't know what the base number to regain is.
In heresy?! Dude I had to 3-4 pop a bulwark/crusher with BB in my first mission in that difficulty, granted I was lvl 10 lol
And the F only restores half toughness instead of completely
with 6 stacks he said, which you can only have at level 25 plus
With the L25 Talent that upgrades your Warp-Charge-Cap to 6 (from 4), you can get to 18% Bonus-Damage to BB... and that's absolutely a 2-shot on Bullwarks.
And yes, on HERESY.
Just try it in the range
Praying to Emperor?
Note to self: avoid playing with randoms in heresy and damnation when trying to 2 pop a Bulwark so I can get my charges lmao
Also that bonus damage is to everything. Six stacks means +18% damage to your staff too, which restores 10% toughness on a kill if you have the talent. High level psyker play is very strong
Ok, this might be fitting here.
I just started out yesterday after desperately trying to get the game to run for 2 days, and performance is probably too poor to ever try diff 4+ for the next months, but, theoretically speaking:
Is it possible to spec a psyker for melee? As in, force blade and as many talents as possible so I don't need to use brain burst except to snipe specials behind walls or some such?
Is the +5 damage from matyrdom actually good?
Why have I heard people trash talk Psyker that’s they’re weak compared to Zealot, Ogryn and Veteran then if it’s strong
To some extend, yeah. There's a L25 talent that grants all of your attacks a 10% chance to get a warp-charge (on a 15s CD)
Actually thats made me click that stacking toughness is probably better than stacking extra health as a psyker - since I can pretty easily get 50-100% toughness in a single voidstrike blast and having an extra 50% toughness makes that even better.
@grim relic Nah man - that's people on the internet being fuckn dumb
@burnt pendant Any build where you don't use BB is bad. It's a core class feature and a very good one at that. It's like asking if there is a build that would let you only ever shoot as the Ogryn. Sure, maybe its possible, but melee is still extremely useful and not using it will only make you weaker
any one know IF this mission is in the game yet, or what mission it is?? for the weekly do secondary objectives for mission vigil station oblivium . what map
Would you agree with this as a fellow mad man of the Warp @little atlas?
To be fair I haven't played 4+ difficulty pretty much at all, but BB is still one of/if not THE strongest feature in the game at the mo
Yeah, absolutely. Toughness on Psyker is great and BB is a core part of the Class
(though I'm currently running a +3 Wounds Curio set on Psyker because Nuffle - exalted god of dice - doesn't like me
)
Isn't stacking toughness go to for every class? In higher diff with lack of heal it would be main way to stay healthy. I only played preacher so may be wrong
I love queing into a level 4 with 3 other psykers and immediately losing because 4 psykers collectively have zero health
Yes, it's a core build feature. But it feels shit. It takes long, half the time the target is killed before I get anything out of it, the visual effect from high peril clutters up the screen even more and drops my framerate further, and most of all, I just hate the feeling of constantly having to find a target to keep that buff up. It feels like I'm constantly under time pressure for no reason, so I'd prefer to never use it and just maybe get the odd charge randomly. Maybe there'll be a subclass one day without that mechanic, or something that grants them infinite duration, but a reason to expend them.
It just feels stressful. ... I guess I'm really asking for some way to circumvent that and not bb. Then again, maybe I'm just a contrarian, and my first instinct upon seeing a mage class is trying to make a melee fighter out of it. I love Unchained in VT2.
Still, thanks to the answers everyone.
Just had that happened - got Rek'd on first objective haha
Yeah thats a totally fair and valid opinion to have. I love BB and the way the class plays, but it does work in a particular way and if that doesn't gel with you, that's fine. Like you said there will probably be a different psyker class in future that will suit you better
what is the orange hit marker exactly? i see it on weak spot and also on some big guys with helmets where it seems like im not doing any damage
Darktide has a much larger Range-Focus than VT2... so you need to learn to make use of Range, Melee and you need to know when to switch back and forth between them.
In other words: "git gud"

Although as a level 28 psyker, I don't actually spend that much time thinking about charges. I have the talent that gives a charge 4% of the time on any kill made by myself or party members in cohesion. With this and the natural amount of BBing I wind up doing anyway to pop specials and elites, if I'm in combat I probably have max charges anyway.
Btw someone explained the issue is the tooltip, not the value,
The regen next to enemies works only if you also have allies next to you, looks like it's tied to the coherency regen.
Yeah some values are a bit wonky,
Also a 6% damage increase in weapons is 60, enjoy (all values in weapons work like that)
So far it honestly feels like in high level VT2 2 players are always fighting purely ranged. Infinite ammo and all. Maybe that changes on higher difficulties or with different equipment, but I've honestly seen more ranged combat in vermintide.
Orange means "weak spots"... which means head-hits on normal enemies and "the orange glowy spot" on the back of the Monstrosity. "Weak spot" is needed for certain talents, that's why it's marked despite possibly not doing "that much" damage
That's because elf javelins are stupid lmao. She gets an infinite number of them and they have crazy cleave. There's also two purely melee classes and those classes are considered some of the best classes. VT2 is generally very melee heavy for like 60% of the roster, it's just the wizard and one elf class that play mostly ranged
@slow fog true, but most people consider him to be like the worst dwarf class, if not the worst class in the whole game lol
Anyone got any tips for the Long Bomb penance? I'm really having trouble with that one.
Throw it on a pack of pox walkers
Yes, I fully agree. javelins are retarded and way too strong. Anyways, noob question: Is there a second brand of power sword? So far I've only seen the Mk2
Plus my boi the dorf engineer.
Minigun go BRRRRRT.
Those people are wrong haha. I love the minigun lad
Just got this Master-Crafted Weapon, and as the Sharpshooter I can't ADS like you can with other heavy autoguns. Bugged or by design?
https://youtu.be/TmuFzsgIAGk
I feel that as the sharpshooter, regardless of weather the weapon is classed as “braced” or otherwise, it should be a toggle on a keybind between ADS and “braced”.
It just isn’t that useful for the class given what’s generally expected of sharpshooters during actual gameplay, which generally involved counter-sniper, killing gunners, killing anything with a gun to alleviate pressure on the rest of the group etc.
Otherwise, how is this weapon significantly better in the hands of a sharpshooter than a Zealot? One could argue this would make zealots the master-class due to versatility.
I feel that a “Veteran” soldier would have the wherewithal to determine when sights on a gun that has them is useful, and when they’re not. A simple toggle would just be one of those appreciated features to make an already nerfed class more viable is all.
Is it bugged or by design?
Gotta be bugged, the alt-fire shows the ADS icon
I feel like even with how Psyker plays they deserve a buff what do you guys think or should a buff be blessed upon the ogryn?
It helps if you use the regular left click throw, and not the hold down left click or hold down right click. If you use that, you can easily do it at basically any time you have a bit of ranged because it'll fly pretty high up if you angle upwards
I have actually only played the Ogryn and Psyker so far. Ogryn seems super strong at the moment, but I'm yet to take them into 3+. I also haven't had a chance to compare it to vet/zealot
What I would do for Psyker is give BB 100% armor Pen... because having BB affected by armor didn't make much sense in the first place.
Wait.. its effected by armor? .. That makes no sense
Or atleast scale with power yknow
ok so for some reason i cant load into the game
Anybody got any feedback on the Surge Force Staff? Feels very weak to me, also it overcharges mid-animation... 97% quell doesnt work for it.
I would also make the force sword special attack animation about 3x faster. Also fix the GOD AWFUL switch to BB speed on the sabre, like HOLY SHIT, IT IS SO BAD
BB is affected by the head-armor. Go to the Psykarnium and try it out.
Force Sword is fine but we need another pattern with a different swing-style - MOAR VARIETY
Force sword should grant warp charges on kill / on successfull hit... woould make meele psyker more viable~
At least the Weaponspecial-Kill on the Force-Sword should give Warp-Charges
they should replace one of the usless level 30 perks with that as a perk
Surge Force Staff sucks for higher level whenever I use it. It only chains to like 4-5 basic units. Less with elites/specials (Like 1 or just 2) Doesn't help when I'm playing Heresy or Damnation and I'm trying to stun like at least 30 out of the 150+ enemies getting throwing at the group
Tbf I don't usually use Force staff for higher end stuff because of this lol. I just go full void staff for pure DPS and AoE. Helps take out hordes in Heresy and Damnation better than Lighting for stun
Was thunderhammer nerfed from the cbt, if yes, how?
Is it known how to progress item power level once you hit lvl 30? In V2 you would progress power level through crafting gear and loot boxes. Like +/- 5 from your highest obtained piece of gear. Trying to figure out if I need to keep buying weapons in the shop just for the number after lvl 30.
We are unsure about that, yet to know what Max power is and what are requirements
Highest power level I've seen is like 472 someone posted
What could actually be requirements for higher power weapons?
-your lvl
-current weapon power
-rarity?
Any other ideas?
I've seen speculations that 500 might be the cap
i might pick this up but like why is the crit chance so low?
probably because it's additive and a very easy condition to meet
13% power is insane btw, and it stacks to 65%? They really amped up the power of weapon traits in this game from VT2. Like the best we had was swift slaying and that just gave 30% attack speed for a few seconds after a crit. Now we're getting whacky shit like insane cleave after kill or crazy power stacking
Yeah it’s nuts
I will not be suprised if we get a lot of numbers change with patches as some are clearlly better than others
huh how does that work?
I am a big VS stan. Luv that thing, great damage, great stagger and therefore CC, great AoE, no channeling so great mobility. Plus BOOOM BOOOM BOOOOOOM
Is the store and contract vendor guy random for each player, or do we all see the same items?
additive means if you have, for example, 10% base chance to crit, that +2% means that once you block-push an enemy you will have 12% crit chance, not 10.2% crit chance. and you should be pushing enemies a lot in melee, so it is a very easy talent to keep active and provides consistent value
does it stack? so if you push multiple times it gets to 4% then 6%?
That staff is

It's insane being able to wipe entire hordes on Heresy or Damnation if you line it up right. God a VS with high Radius would be amazing
I'd also assume you can apply multiple stacks at once too if you aoe push, so in a horde you'll probably always have like 20% crit chance for free if you push frequently like you're supposed to in order to control a crowd
it specifies if they stack
Everyone has his own im sure
Does a heavy attack do more damage the longer you charge it or is it just flat as long as the animation plays?
Yeah considering the 0-charge charged shot can stagger and I'm pretty sure still pens, its super useful for saving pinned down allies
Also it dealing good damage means it fuckin rules for gaining charges through the 4% on kill talent
I wonder how crafting will work
Yeah, this is my current VS I'm using right now. It's pretty decent but could be better
Phewww that trait is spicy as shit my dude, especially since it pens so much. I think I've had two available so far an I'm 28. Can't wait to get my hands on a yellow one
transfer peril is such an op trait
What counts as weak spot?
9/10 times its a headshot. On the Beast of Nurgle however its the glowy spot on its back. If your reticle turns yellow, you hit their weak spot
so it just 2% then in this case
what abhout that other perk, is power just a flat buff to damage
Yeah, I'm hoping to get it on an orange. Trait is insane when it procs
im unsure what specifically power means, but it modifies damage
@cobalt knoll yeah i want a master craft so bad
Why do Psykers have "Mind in Motion" while quelling peril with a staff is the same thing?
for when im not quelling with my staff, having to switch to a staff in order to move faster when quelling will get you killed when in hordes with the force sword, not being able to easily dodge when spamming bursts in a boss fight, etc
@cobalt knoll if it does, barely, the staff movement speed while quelling is already close to walking speed if its not already
Doesn't Mind In Motion help with staff movement speed
confused by the ogryn feats, which are worth using atm?
Power probably refer to dmg, cleave, stagger etc.
Ok. I am in love with the exploding staff. The one that shoots the exploding balls of death
Ok, just bought my first psyker staff. Now bb feels even worse, because I have to share a resource between the staff, the melee, and the "hold lmg for 4 seconds button. Well, here's hoping you guys are right and there will be a psyker class with less obnoxious mechanics. Ah, well, I've already leveled that one. Too late to back out now. Also, Force Sword. Are there multiple force melee weapons, or just the mk2 sword?
just trust, it gets a ton better once you level up when you get a good void staff youll forget bb exists
This. This right here. I am having a blast the time of my life here
I have only seen one force sword so far. The first force staff is basically universally considered the worst of the bunch by far
whats a reliable way to get montrosity spawns?
assassination missions always count
is there a glossary of terms for darktide?
For the first tree I use either the team bonus or the multiple target heavy attack.
Second it depends but current I just do the Ogryn DR and bonus, it’s more useful than the nade adjustment and the bleed stacks thing I’m not sure on.
Third tree the coherency increase is nice if you’re running the 100% toughness regen bonus, but the 10% charge on elite kill can be clutch at high levels because how many elites you’re gonna be killing with your team. For the next this one I personally choose the 100% coherency gain on low health since it seems to have saved me several times, but honestly it’s what you prefer for this list. Back to the bleed tree in a second.
Next one will also depend on the weapon you use, but since I use shield mostly the cleave on charge heavy isn’t super useful, heavy, and I found the increase in damage to follow up swings based off how many you hit perfect for the shields club.
For the final one, I would say toughness back on charge is best because not only does it let you wade into crowds to quickly get toughness back, but it makes you tankier when charging because you’re replacing toughness that otherwise would be lost by being shot charging.
Final note, there’s three traits for bleed, first being bleed on heavy, second being DR based on bleeding enemies close by, capping at 50% for five, and applying two bleed stacks to enemies you charge. I personally haven’t used this a ton since I find the shield heavy used like that can be risky but it is a very viable path to choose and make you super super tanky.
Pretty sure assassinations count as a monstrosity. So do those and hope the slug or plague ogryn spawn too
At higher difficulty levels are there enough special spawns to keep steady uptime on sustained fire?
I'd love to, really. Though I'd mostly prefer to get a force sword with a cleave heavy and maybe a 2-stage charge-up.
First force staff for me was essentially VTs conflag staff, only way slower.
I'll ponder the matter tomorrow, but I'll probably rever to my autopistol for now.
power still correlates to higher damage, right? Its not just overall stat balance? So while the base damage of the sword is lower the power level helps offset it?
unless there are hard numbers on the stat, its tough to say for sure
yes, the 390 sword will be much stronger, you can test in meat grinder to verify
@burnt pendant yeah the trauma staff sucks ass, the psyker really is weak until its in the 20s, but by then you are super strong
The best way to check is to compare it in the psykhanium. Looking at the two different ones there, it looks like the dodge range should be significantly different - I would test that
yeah, I just bought it and am going to just go hit some things
My theory is that rating show how many points can be distributed between stats so higher level weapon have better overall stats but can be still weaker in one of those if it rolled porly
Oh yeah its for sure this imo
@desert fern what feats are you using?
staff focused build
Does the game give partial credit for secondary objectives now?
Im using 10% toughness on warp kill, peril resist per warp charge, chance on kill to generate a charge, full mobility on quell, 6 charges, (not 30 yet, but will probably take the cooldown reduction in exchange for charges)
is there a way to get the dockets outside of the wekly challenges?
By the by, my fellow level 25+ psykers, does the BB on hit chance seem off? I tested it in the psykhanium and 10% seemed way too high. It seemed more like 5% chance
the 390 is breaking even or doing slightly less depending on the armor type or target on heresy testing
what's the best way to get higher power gear?
i believe its only when under 50% peril, im not sure exactl what qualifies as critical, but 50% is when it plays the warning sound, it definitely feels less than 10% chance though
Vendors, everything else is rng
Yeah I was testing it with the dueling sword and it was definitely more like around 20+ hits to proc typically and this is in the psykhanium, so I never had any perils
hey, probably was mentioned before, but can someone explain zealot feats - martyrdom lacks "%" symbol in description? so is it 5% power for 15% hp (and with 6 stacks it's 30% power for 90% hp)?
tbf though, 10% doesnt mean it is guaranteed in 10 hits, its roughly 65% after 10 hits,
Yeah I tested it for a solid 10-15 minutes and it definitely didn't feel like 10%
anybody knows how to do the run 70 meters with the ogryn penance? i have the last trait where i run further but this doesn't work
im boutta sit in psykhanium for an hour and mark every single occurance and find the real probability
lmao yeah, it may have just been bad luck for me, but it definitely seemed off. If you do that at least we can go whine to the devs like those dorks in general chat hahaha
Emperor approve your devotion to sacred work 🫡
can you salvage old items?
im bored and love stats and math
Do i focus on rarity or do i focus on ratings as a general rule of thumb? i want t delete some of the lower rating items
Rarity will only give you more traits/secondary boosts. Unless they're actually good, rating is better. E.g. that purple has two small boosts and a trait, a blue will have one boost and a trait
I'm attempting to find more mission types for my Vantage Point penance. Are there 7 different missions types?
we be missing repair and flash atm
wasnt there a list of keywords somewhere? I checked multiple channels for pins. Looking for rending, just removing/reducing enemy armor?
Dang. I want my helmet. Oh well, It'll come out in due time
Trappers activate WAY too fast. They literally jump around the corner and then you have half a second to stun/kill them before you're captured
uhh yeah @sour depot @slow fog 5/145 rn
lmao yeah, like I said, I think its maybe 5%
dodge left or right, same with snipers
Yeah idk how we went from the jingling of hookrats being very obvious, to the Trapper who apparently has some very quiet lines that I have to strain to hear because everything on the map is screaming or moaning or shooting at me and the only real cue I have is the sound of the net gun charging up
10/200
5% looking right now, ill go 1000 and see what i get, maybe 2500
Yeah they could do with more spawn and movement sounds for specials in general. At the moment we only really get it for hounds and mutants.
Im so mad at the trapper for having bugged audio for me. She makes the shooting sound like three times before she shoots so I keep dodging early
Why didn't I try that? Great idea lmao. That only works when he doesn't run around the corner/cover and blast you. Not trying to sound mean here, by the way 😛
How can you forget bb exists when its essential to your damage
Keeping stacks is like, the whole point.. no?
how do i have the flash mission completed?? I'll attribute it to the power and grace of the Emperor
Honestly I don't even know if the lack of special sounds is intentional or just bugged. Like the ragers don't make any noise at all either, but your character has lines about shutting them up
Boy howdy, they really need to add the ability to BB through chain link fences and single goddam handraisl again haha. Getting shot to shit through a fence and not being able to shoot back at all if you have a staff sucks Nurgle's nodules
is this worth it?
its only essential for elite killing and boss damage, which is 1/10th of the gameplay, staffs give insane CC, which is mostly what psyker is for at higher levels
Damnation difficulty Boss https://youtu.be/d137mIk1YfE
good old mates from vermintide 2 modded difficulty (cata 3 dwons etc), trying darktide
Do stacks only affect bb or all damage? Seems like you want it regardless idk
All damage
@ornate stag Looks pretty good to me. Don't know what you're paying though
is it possible to get multiple of the same secondary effects from weapons/curios on the same item?
stacks effect all damage, but running psychic communion and kinetic flayer keeps you with charges most of the time in the game
@slow fog 17/300 now
@slow fog its about 2.6k weekly coins ,_, i've also gotta decide now since I got lucky with a bug and my weekly shop resets hourly.
kiiiiind of. On curios you can have the primary stat and the secondary stats benefit the same stat. I've had one that gave like 15% health as the main stat and 4% health as one of the secondaries. I don't think they can be in the same "slot" if that makes sense
25 / 430, so sitting ~6% proc rate
update: killed the crusher only procking once, doing 1-36 damage per hit, so i did half its health with hits
That is spenny.
Its up to you honestly. It seems like a good weapon, but at the same time, it might be worthwhile holding onto the currency until you hit the rating soft/hard cap. At the same time I think you might be close to it anyway and those last 50ish points might not make much of a difference
Are Sire Melk's missions Daily or Weekly?
Yeah I don't really see the point of buying weapons this early with the weekly currency before we know if we can even upgrade them to max gear score, or if we don't even know what the gear cap is yet
There is likely to be a bunch of rebalancing of weapons/items too
Also, what is the best way to find Dregs vs, say, Scabs?
well I'll just buy it now so I can enjoy before the flamer gets nerfed to the ground. (like in vermintide) gotta purge them hertics anyways
Mission location I think. Dregs are the bois in yellow, scabs are the ones in black carapace armour
Eyo is there anywhere that I can find the info for the max gear power?
100% a dumb question but what are the 7 types of matches that the Praise the God-Emperor penance requires? I'm stuck at 6 types and, I just don't know what to do
besides the different item levels, which recon lasgun normally does more damage?
reapir mission are not yet available
around 500 gear score maybe? @tough prism
Which enemy is a "Groaner"?
99% of general-chat. (No idea)
Thank you, that maybe indicates that we don't officially know yet? Haha
Groaner is the horde enemy that isn't poxwalker, the more living kind.
Okay final number, 51/1000 hits caused a proc, time to make a forum post
Ahhhh, thanks
And you doubted my ~5% call lmao
5% was the number i had in mind, i just had to verify it isnt conformation bias by not paying attention to peril, or just not a large enough sample size, but now im certain
Wait did you actually just sit in the psykanium testing the 10% brain burst on hit for 1000 hits
If there's one guy out there that deserves the solo monster kill with brain burst it's this guy
What do u think about using flamer on 4-5 diff. I played some V2 (440+h) and one of things i remember was that flamegun wasnt used on legend/cata. Reasons for this were mainly:
-at highiest lvl people know how to deal with hordes with just melee weapons
- team lose 1/4th range firepower to kill specials which was crusial.
Do u think that with Darktide being even more focused on range fighting flamer will be overshadow by all kinds of rifles?
+-50, counter reset and some i may have missed, but yes, yes i did. and obs wasnt recording so ill literally do it again so i can upload a file for the report
Absolute madman
TL;DR
is Flamer luxury we can't afford at 4-5 diff?
Yeah thats fair, I was just making a joke over my unreliable napkin math, pretty happy I was right though.
It's actually a really interesting talent, cause it actually incentivizes you to use melee and also to use a fast weapon like the dagger or the sabre.
The other issue with the darkegun was that it just blinds people and that the horde itself is a resource to be managed, just killing it all with the drakegun was denying people temp HP regeneration. We don't have that in Darktide, so it might be better?
I was just one shot by a burster on 4 because it downed me and clipped my 3rd health. From behind with little warning in the middle of a horde
next thing to test, is it on hit, or on swing, IE will hitting 5 with one swing count 5 times, or will the swing itself count as one hit to proc
Are there any guns with an actual scope or are they all iron sights or reflex scopes?
Yeah I tried testing that too but the way the enemies are spaced out makes it quite difficult. It would be nice if they gave us a nice cuddle puddle to nuke
Yeh I just wish brain burst on hit only proced on elites/specials so it wouldn't be wasted on a random trash mob in a mixed horde, that way I'd actually like using it for extra damage. Instead it's more warp charge uptime right now
hard disagree. The random warp charge saves my bacon because of the 30% regen talent.
True, we have toughness tho but its also regen by it self do its better than thp from v2
time for another 1000 swings, this time obs is on
I do think the extra 2 warp charges option is the better one at the moment. The extra peril resist (if you have the talent) becomes pretty significant when you have 6 and if you have the 4% chance on kill talent during a big fight its uncommon that you'd run out of charges, even without BBing
im using staff for psyker but i feel like downtime between cooldown / pressing R is quite a bit, i can get like a good 3 secondaries or so out before i need to switch to melee. is this what you guys are feeling as well or am i not pikcing the right feats?
okay i just did 500 on video this time, 23 procs ~4.6% rate
Do you mean you're filling up on perils too quickly and needing to quell? Cause if so it sounds like you're using the ground pound staff, which is bad. Once you get the lightning/void strike staff, you'll be able to shoot enough to make room to quell ad infinitum basically
Do they plan on putting in guns with higher intensity scopes or is it just the irons/reflex?
Maybe, probably, who knows
Why does every character get a shovel in the prologue and how does the ogryn find one so big
Hard to say, IMO it would be weird if we don't get proper scopes, though it may be only for specific weapons like snipers and long las
Guys does the psykers power get any faster on higher lvls?
https://forums.fatsharkgames.com/t/psyker-kinetic-flayer-feat-is-not-the-right-stat-value/58321 yes i really did this, buff psyker pls
Fatshark Forums
Issue Description: Psyker feat “Kinetic Flayer” is a 5% chance, not a 10% chance. I hit a crusher in psykhanium 1500 times, (500 on video) and got 74 total procs, being just about 5% rate Steps to Reproduce: I noticed the proc chance seemed fairly low for the ability, so to verify i want into psykhanium, used only melee with no peril, and hit...
Ogryn goes for the ol' Poop Scoop.
No seriously it's a Latrine Shovel
Yea, that's why Im asking, I play a Vet. But they may also feel like that the Psyker is pretty much the sniper
Level 30 feat makes it significantly faster after ulting
My shop seems bugged. Had 2 locked items just prior to reset, and now have 2 different, locked items. Is this a known problem? Any resolution?
Isnt the mace and shield for ogryn at lvl 12? actually feels so unplayable without it
feels the same with it tbh
im guessing ulting means the insultingly low impact force push? Also does it make it any better? Since you would normally be pushing a horde so using your power afterwards doesnt really seem that useful, depends on how fast it is ofc
Yeah and I swear I only ever use that thing for the 50% peril clear and brain burst empower, it makes it VERY fast, feels faster than just a 25% charge speed bonus. I usually just use my ult now if I see a bunch of dangerous elites/specials that take more than 1 pop
Disruption of a large group of enemies is nice if your team is somehow slightly scrambled
I do think the first patch messed with the psyker ult. It used to reliably knock down bursters, now I'll use it and some mook will melee me .1 second later
The psyker ult is actually really useful if it works properly. Being able to clear some space is a life saver if you need to BB someone shooting at you, or quell some peril so you can keep shooting
Shotgun better
Also since you seem to have played the psyker a fair bit, do you use the stack system? Since to me it seems like alot of standing still and doing noting for a very minor temporary buff
I use it with inner tranquility and warp battery for 36% peril reduction, gives 29% peril headpops and very nice for force sword/staff peril efficiency. Also essence harvest
Hmm guess i will keep lvling him but what do you think of the psyker so far?
My Armoury only has two weapons displayed. Is that normal or a bug?
psyker is amazing in the late game, once your perk tree is leveled up its super good
how does Deadshot work on veteran? do I need to ADS for it? does the effect get disabled if I run out of stamina?
Bug. @radiant heron just posted same problem
@fair ore Bug, scroll up a bit someone else has the exact same issue.
@tawdry nymph Adding on to what Soup said, extremely good in the late game especially for ranged/special/elite clear, since you don't need line of sight to pop heads.
Does anyone have any help/tips doing the long bomb penace? (the one where you need to kill 3 enimies with a grenade without it bouncing) ive been trying to do it for about 5 games now but I feel like haven't gotten anywhere with it
Fake information again.
I tryied it on heresy with training map. You can't one shot hound with 6 stacks.
he probably got a crit, but yeah hounds have 1350 hp, and the head pop damage is 1000 base, at most it would increase to 1180 (unless something is not listed right but i aint gonna test more shit tonight)
You can crit with BB ?
thats good to hear i will remain hopefull then since currently i do best when i keep the use of his powers to a mininum
Hey, im trying to grind quickly to catch my friends. Is there a mission that's the quickest to complete? (One good for grinding)
I'm not trying to troll or anything, but if you're not using BB much, you're probably not playing psyker very well. Being higher level does help a lot, as it lets you use it more frequently to be fair
only way i could explain it, ive gotten a 1 shot on a damnation dog before, so id assume it does
Maybe someone or something hit him before ?
For me, assasination is quickest couse u can just jump on Boss and finish him in a minute, my jest time is about 15 min run
When server back?
nah it was in psykhanium, 0 stacks too
im playing rn
With/without max stacks I'm not getting any crits or one shot dogs on damnation
ALREADY ON IT WOOOOOO
time to spam BB 1000 times
wanted to post this, mutant toss me over the fence by the elevator in the train station and the boss came by to fight in the tight space (cannot get out so my temamate died in main boss arena)
my favorite yet is a mutie throwing me off the bridge on on chasm station assassination and throwing me so far it passes the zone that makes me grab the ledge
Yeah I've been on a big set of stairs with a hole in the middle and been yeeted over the hole and down a story safely haha
I lost count but no crits at all
Someone please tell me how to play this game, I'm getting SMOKED on level 3 difficulty. Just so much ranged shit
what's a good way to get the "not even close" penant?
||inb4 "oh its so easy"||
Use cover, play defensively, keep moving, and don't dilly dally.
If you're being shot, either counter fire or enter cover. If you're trying to Rambo here you'll be ventilated.
Stick with your team!
What level are you? Also what class?
interesting
Zealot, like level 10. Seems impossible to charge a group of mobs, just get smoked out of my ability, cover doesn't seem to actually cover me when I crouch behind it. Definitely skill issue, but idk
gotta abuse that push/block i dont see many people use it
Sprinting (with stam) and sliding everywhere means enemies are inaccurate (you'll hear bullets wizzing by). Push and Block if you're dealing with melee you can't immediately knock down/stagger. Sounds in this game mean something
melee's fine, just getting to that point when there's 50 ranged mobs, idk, am I just supposed to sit there as zealot?
You probably shouldnt be in difficulty 3 yet. 15 is generally what I'd recommend before moving up to difficulty 3
I mean, I got to Ogryn 30, and cover was fine for me and I'm like 1.5x the size of a Zealot. A lot better than during Closed Beta that's for sure. Keep moving from Cover to Cover, Sprint and Slide if you need to, Sliding into enemies is what I tend to do.
And use your karking gun! Just cus you're melee spec doesn't mean you should ignore it
Let me know if it fixes or etc. Same issue here
@tough epoch That's what I thought, but its been 2 rotations and still have the issue. Hopefully the next-next one
Should fix itself once the armory cycles out to refresh after a minute or two
happened to me too at one point
I haven't seen a 1A lasgun offered in days 🥹
Can't wait for crafting
I want a reroll system for my force sword already
is there a way to make test dummies attack you
how does the armory work? do they give me different weapons every mission I play? It seems they kind of change every time I come back to the hub with or without leveling
Its on a timer and regularly cycles through various weapons as you level up and get access to more stuff
you'll see the timer on the bottom (right I think?)
It's per hour, resets on xx:00
yep mine says 10 mins
seems like a waste to buy anything other than max level
not really
it still helps when you got something else other than your basic weaponry
its all down to the player's choice at the end of the day
blast dmg from grenade launcher is so bad there's literally no reason to use it instead of lmg or ripper gun
Can't seem to find vigil station oblivium for weekly contracts. Does anyone know when it might come up in the list of missions?
That’s a shame, my friend just bought one and was excited to use it
Look at witchfinder coming in here and flexing on us with her three consecutive messages
Yeah I’m getting confused reading though the messages as people edit their previous message to reply to a message that was sent later. Really throws me for a loop every time
@haughty umbra I mean I don’t even need more messages I’m just gonna use this one from now on
@slow fog I had the same idea lol
I would reroll the specific area contracts. We only have access to like two areas at a time, so some of them are impossible
Also hey Wardens, I think this chat can be trusted to have less slowdown. Seems fairly well behaved
@haughty umbra I like to do a new line and an @ if it's a reply to a message ahead of mine
Yeah I try to space out the edit if it's in reply to a later message
Like this
Actually would spacing it out like this help more?
Yeh Ill try to space it out like this more
I guess at least we don't have Historitor in here spamming like general chat
Does martydom on zealot work with wound/nurgle damage? Or is it considered as a max health decrease rather than missing health?
It's already cycled once, no dice.
I’d think corruption counts towards your missing hp but I could be wrong
whts max gear score the highest ive seen is 449
Some people have said 500, highest I've seen is 471
its better raw damage, but those bonuses on your old gun are better. imo i'd stick with your current one
Might just buy it for the item score?
Yeah
Hey witchfinder do you think we could reduce the slowdown here? Seems fairly well behaved/not moving too fast
is there a water mark system in this game or how do i increase gear score
I wonder if some dreg and scab enemies have different...resistance and dmg reduction values, despite health type (flak, unarmored). I'm testing in Psykanium, every single one of them take different amount of dmg than the other, it's like different weapons are good against certain types of "armor".
My EVISCERATOR deals more dmg to scab melee guy's torso (flak) than dreg melee guy's torso (unarmored). While CHAINSWORD is opposite.
huh, apparently Dreg melee guy has 50 hp more than Scab melee guy, despite being unarmored on the torso. Still though, doesn't change the fact that different melees perform differently against different enemies and health types. Apparently.
So how would a Sharpshooter build for 3+ Difficulty? I was told that the Powersword was potentially the better Melee weapon, but what Ranged Options do I have and what Curio's do I want to keep my eyes open for?
Emperah slather me with your love
So how rare is it for a bolter to actually show up in the armory? Seems like I haven't seen the spawn at all up to level 22
Thicc Emperah
ye boi the plasma rifles are quite slappy
Do higher difficulties give you more exp?
So for Vantage point. Someone mind listing the 6 avaliable missions that we have right now?
Despite playing a decent amount (with crashes, mind you) I'm only at 4/7
have any veteran players managed to make the plasma gun work better than the boltor? it has terrible handling
Yes. It shows the xp values on mission select
does anyone get good use out of short ranged guns? I like how they feel but unless playing psyker it seems difficult due to not being able to take out ranged specials reliably
Is there a way to see xp for next lvl outside of the screen at the end of a run?
assassionation, raid, espionage, strike, disruption, investiagtion
is disruption and investigation on the game or not yet?
yea, I think the only one missing is Repair
Is zealot Shocking stuff penece really for Malice or this one is also miss spoken also can i do it with flamethrower?
im still only seeing assassination, raid, and investigation
Plasma gun is only good for single targets. running a mastercraft that one shots every elite with volly atm and its only usable with the feat that gives you handling in exchange for your stamina. I wouldnt reccomend as you only get 3-4 shots before your out of the fight for an additonal 15-30 seconds.
what class are you primarily playing ?
im at 6/7 for that
Hello does the emperor give better drops on higher difficulties?
rng i have legit only gotten white gifts
i dont agree with this. the plasma gun has potential to take out multiple targets either clumped together or a through-and-through due to its awesome penetration
Wooooo got long bomb finally
when does psyker become good?
when you get good with him.
Update, the chest cosmetic you get from it looks worse than the level 20 cosmetic lmao
is blood and thunder broken? it isnt stacking bleed it applies one bleed and then refresh's it
One thing that possibly seemed to fix my "Only 2 items" at the vendor bug seemed to be to let it refresh with me standing around the hub and not in a mission
Isnt that how all bleeds are rn
Is 3much harder than 2? It’s a lot more exp and currency
True but again you can use 3-4 shots before it completley overheats. Imo a high capacity Laz gun or equivalent would be better overall. Or if using all the feats that give reload speed.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwZ1fcOrYF4&ab_channel=Arby
I'm sure people are aware of the damage, but I want to spread the knowledge if not. Force sword does crazy damage to the assassination boss, so if you're struggling on this fight, try it out. 💜
I don't know if the damage on the boss is intended, but it is very strong. The Special Attack on Force Sword doesn't do this much damage to Beast of Nurgle or Chaos Ogryn, so :/ !
Psyker is very fun though. I don't enjoy much other melee weapons on them besides the force sword. They're surely good, but being able to quell with melee out is ver...
So where does Ogryn come into play? I understand the other three classes uses, but what does Ogryn offer? I just dont see them enough to know
Hes the best boy
Isnt it stagger all kinds of enemies ?
id have to test, but i think its more than 3-4. anyway its probably just a question of application, using Veteran's alt with the plasma provides insane damage, also just depends on your playstyle!
force sword any chain weapon and power sword
ooh - too spenny for me to buy right now\
how does emperors gift work is that just a random chance to get something every game?
on lasguns, does stopping power mean stagger power? im confused
So saying good things about the emperor while on a mission doesn’t affect the likelihood of getting a gift?
So as a psyker, how do I play? pop two heads, then reduce buildup, then pop more heads and after 4 use sword/gun?
any tips on getting the 3 or more kills with a grenade without it bouncing penance?
Oi, so... This whole thing where I have to adjust keybinds every time I load the game... There a workaround for it because I'm getting sick of having to fix my bloody settings every time.
in a long and tall corridor or open area aim about 40 degrees up and pray
You can pop 3 heads before having to vent, as long as you start below 97% peril you can headpop, even if it goes to 100%
faster to spam lvl 1s to level or level 3s
open area, enemies are 40-50m away from you, you need to throw at a high enough angle (35-40 degrees i think) and it will explode before it hits the ground
i suggest doing this on difficulty 1-2
Oh good to know. But then the same? Pop 4 heads, use other weapons? Should I spam it on trash enemies?
also: is it worth using as DPS on a boss?
what's the best way to do the no melee hit challenge, dont got people to do it with me and enemies always flank me and i get shanked in the back
So i'm curious, which do you guys think is better vets or zealots? I am a Vet player atm, but had a fewthoughts about which one too focus on. I love my melee sword and full auto and nice I can use it on both classes but not sure which too more play.
Mainly it depends on the staff your using, and just exploring the different uses they bring. You can just not bring a staff.
Head pop is a very good special / elite deleter, and there are times where I literally just spam it throughout a mission.
When a boss spawns, you can spam head pop as much as you want and it does decent damage.
@past quartz You can also just dc and try to rejoin at the end and have your team wait for you, thats how I got it :')
Veteran hands down. Zealots tend to go down easier towards heresy and higher. Veterans can pick off elites. Zealots are more vanguards to aid with horde control. Veterans can do the same but excel as psykers do for elite kills.
Ah thank you. Sadly I don't have a staff yet.
Best way to go is to play the game and pick what you like the most, psyker is a bit bland until you get the staffs. Stick it out !!
Thanks. So far I've been mostly confused as to where to go in the levels. :D
Suppression.
How effective is it, truly? I've heard rumours that if there is no hard cover to get to, it doesn't do anything.
If an enemy is already in hard cover, does suppression keep them pinned, or will they still fire?
I'm mostly trying to figure out how best to use it in higher threat levels since, while amazing, the twin-linked heavy stubber isn't the murder machine I hoped it would be, but has a large magazine for suppression.
ah okay
Yeah with how easily you can interrupt a zealot's dash, it feels like most of the time your "optimal" zealot gameplay will just be playing like a knockoff veteran to thin out the ranged units beating your ass before swapping to melee to clear horde. The one thing I do think they shine in is dealing with really heavily armored specials and monsters because eviscerator damage on single targets is gross, but veteran's ability to just delete all specials and elites make it too good
You'll get a hang of it :') just comes with playing the games
Also another thing, has anyone had issues where the store won't scroll all the way down cant get a new gun? and the entire guns are flashing? I had people say they can buy guns just fine but I cant buy any.
is there a way to tell if a mission will have scabs or dregs as the opposing faction?
do yall just do any mission you want? or is there an efficient way to pick certain missions aside from difficulty that is
any tips for getting the psyker cliffhanger penance
@odd light > Armory Exchange may constantly refresh, rendering the user unable to purchase anything
This is due to the PC's time/date being incorrect. Set to 'Automatic'

do dogs count as a fail for no melee?
OOF
You guys got any good brain burst builds?
has anyone found a solution for the random UI re-scaling when pushed back or knocked down? It keeps happening and suddenly my UI is all off screen until I go into the menu mid-mission and "rescale" my UI
I need help figuring out what class to play
What role do you want to play in a mission ?
Stagger elites/specials/bosses, draw fire, make hordes manageable. Revive people.
I always enjoy tanking so I tried out the ogryn but i feel like im dying way too much
Anyone know where "mission Excise Vault - Spire-13" is? I have yet to see that map but it is part of a quest
None of the classes can really "tank", dodging, blocking, and crowd control will always be necessary. But Ogryn and Zealot probably the two best for toughness replenishment
“Tanking” in these games is usually about crowd control and horde management. Technically anyone can do that but some weapons and classes do better at it.
You could definitely become a main tank as ironbreaker in VT2 and even draw aggro, but we don't have an equivalent of that in DT, maybe ogryn with a shield?
the no grenade bounce will be the death of me
Have you tried throwing the grenade with just a regular left click rather than the hold click? i was able to get that penance done in the ammo level in the room where you have to do the hacking, I just waited for horde to come, went to the lower area, angled upwards so I was looking about 45 degrees at the ceiling and then threw it into the horde and I got it that way
I feel like we draw aggro too well. I been playing ogryn exclusively and I feel like we are a massive aggro magnet without even trying. Snipers, gunners, anything with a ranged weapon is going to be aiming at us over our teammates. Not to mention I feel like most forms of cover don't even work for us. Basically have to walk around a corner to get cover. Try using a shield though. If used correctly you can stop a lot of damage.
Shield Ogryns definitely draw aggro, If you use the Special Block you get a massive Taunt effect that causes most ranged enemies to immediately focus fire into your shield (which you shrug off).
There was also a Trait on a Thunder Hammer I had in Closed Beta that gave passive Taunt, not sure if it's currently in though
Never seen anyone use that before lol, figures. Most Ogryns I've seen are too obssessed with just shooting their grenade gauntlets into everything or walking in front of everyone to block their gunfire
It's very situational, and over-using it is detrimental to the team since you can't do anything while in special block aside from tagging enemies. You're completely rooted to the ground. I use it if approaching entrenched positions but it's not something you use consistently
what lvl 20 talent should i get for my zealot?
yeah honestly it was really the ranged enemies that ruined the ogryn for me it was just way too easy to be overwhelemed by them I feel like
thats why I went psyker but i miss the melee in the heat of battle aspect
Take a slab shield and just block shots and walk into cover and watch your angles, being surrounded by ranged is deadly in this game
What lvl does the shield unlock?
10-12, saw my first one at lvl 9 but level locked to 11
does +1 wounds indirectly help against grims?
It seems like grims reduce a percentage of your total health bar, and having more wounds reduces the total numerical amount that the grim can corrupt.
Grims take a set amount of health away, about 50? Ogryns are Signifcantly less impacted by Grims due to higher Health pool while Psykers and Vets become ultra squishy. Either take +HP as main trait, or find Corruption Resist (Grims) as a secondary trait
Man, the difficulty spike from malice to Heresy definitely is something. It was fun and tense, but trying to play chicken with 3 snipers during a horde event isnt fun. Especially without a real scope on my lasgun
Ogryn shield against assassin boss is funny if team keeps horde off your back. You just stand there and the dude can't hurt you
Any advice till then? I think mine is lvl 6 only lol
It kinda does but not because of what you said. More wounds means that your remaining hp will have more splits even despite the grimoires debuff
Keep an eye out for cover, keep a wall to your side so you limit where you can be shot at (and also keep sight lines clear for other players), Sprinting and Sliding make ranged enemies miss (you'll hear wizzing bullets). Manage your Toughness
I'm honestly not even sure how grimoires interact with the bar system for wounds, because the amount increases over time
I honestly don't understand why people think Grims constantly tick you to death, they tick until they reach a certain amount of HP corrupted (and reapply to that amount if you Medicae), any extra corruption is from regular damage.
Extra Wounds technically make it so you might have 1 extra down with a Grim if the thresholds work out, but taking +HP means you have more HP left after Grims
What ranged weapon is best for the ogryn?
I personally use the Heavy Stubber, but that's lvl 20. Either Rippergun or Gauntlets based on what you like more. I see tons of people swear by Gauntlets.
One thing you have to accept as Ogryn is that you can't handle everything elegantly, pick a role you like and specialize
the grenade launcher gauntlet? i hated that thing, but maybe it was the one i got that didnt have any blast radius. im rolling with the ripper till i get stubbers personally, since they can delete any mutant, dog, or bad ogryn
what are all the rarities there is white, green, blue, purple, orange then apparently yellow(if it is a thing should be called gold)
Gauntlet easily, it fills in the issue Ogryns have which is inability to deal with specials and elites from a distance well. It’s a sniper, one shots a ton of specials and elites
Gauntlets I treated like a Beaner (direct hit nade) that also CCs, the contact damage is amazing and pierces armor, but the surrounding dmg is terrible, CCs amazing though.
Rumbler is a meme but it specializes even further into that Beaner role, with amazing on-hit damage and relatively strong delayed explosion (with strong drop off, but CCs)
Yeah nade isn’t for horde clear, that’s what the rest of your kit is for
You’re an Ogryn, you don’t need horde clear ranged weapons
Although that be said it still stuns them too
so question about ogryn gameplay, I got the shield and in my first game I spent a lot of time just using it's special to tank the damage, while the match went very smooth it's still hard to tell if I was actually useful, is it a good strategy to just focus more on trying to draw fire to myself and just be ur standard tank so to speak?
Heavy Stubber is my goto, thin out a horde? No problem Boss.
Mauler/Ragers? No Problem Boss
Snipers? Not the most effective but you can counter-snipe them
Reaper? No Problem Boss
Crusher/Bulwark? STOMP LIKE BUG (switch to melee and stagger them while others deal with them)
Lots of guns? Peek-a-boo (you can dodge while braced/aiming with no aim penalty which is silly for quick peeks)
Don't bother using special block for melee unless you're specifically blocking off a doorway, if there's a lot of entrenched enemies then take up the special block as you aggro ranged fire under special block. Flexibility and Communication is key, if taking up special block, you can still try to ping specials
does this game treat enemy spawning the same way as V2 for the most part?
oh no I mean mostly when there's a lot of ranged enemies, with horde I just go ham on breaking skulls, like if I don't think I can safely get to the ranged enemy or w/e I just block it's attacks and hope my team deals with it
is there a viable heresy/damnation psyker build?
If I have the team by you then yeah take up position and draw that fire, assuming the Zealots don't charge in. If you're taking up position make sure you have someone that can take out any Trappers/Flamers/Hounds as they can grab/damage you through the shield
Hello everyone, why do I see only 2 items in the store?
