Reset your talent tree and don't choose a Blitz upgrade so you are left with the grenade box that does not explode. Last I checked the Rock does not count and the other Blitz abilities will reset your counter when they hit anything else with the explosion. It helps to run a mission with hordes of mutants and just whip your box at a mutant running towards you. If your rando team kills them too quickly run Damnation and just wait for regular mutants since they have a high health pool, don't move around much but still die to one grenade box.

Best to have a coordinated team with 3 people working on bosses/specials and one person clearing the horde at the door they spawn from (different door each difficulty). Going in with randos, my advice would be to build an Ogryn with a shield and the ability to push enemies to get their aggro with bull rush to get in position when you need to outrun the gas. It is not the hardest job so if you can find someone else to do it more power to you but it is vital to prevent most wipes from occurring as the team gets overwhelmed by ads.

When you enter the match run to the left and cover the door that 90% of the enemies run out of. I forget which number the door is on Damnation but it should be 3-4 four doors down from where you enter the arena and it will be the same door every time provided you are on the same difficulty. Keep it pinged so you can find it again easily after running the gas gauntlet.

Your job is to keep all mobs from leaving that door and/or getting aggro on the rest of the team for the whole match, leaving only to ult to the nearest safe spot when the gas arrives. If your team does not hold aggro on the bosses this can become quite difficult but so long as you don't attack the bosses they should lose interest in you as the team damages them.

Get used to setting off gas mines without taking damage by walking on and dodging off in order to make space for yourself.

The rest of your team will still need to be capable of clearing specials while holding aggro on the two bosses but this will give you the best chance of keeping the team from getting overwhelmed by trash mobs and makes the most noticeable impact regarding the mission getting out of hand.

You could also bring a ranged weapon to help snipe specials when there is a break between door openings like the shotgun and the big frag to help thin out the wave that spawns a horde of the big armored dudes mid-fight.
