#Grinding issue

Hey everyone! Got another question for this great community. I've been a happy owner of a KINGrinder K2 for a while now, and I've never had any issues grinding coffee—until the other day, when I picked up a bag of some popular Italian coffee.

Here's my problem: every time I grind these particular beans, I end up with what you see in the attached photo. The ground coffee just sticks to the grinder, and it's super annoying! This only happens with these specific beans.

Could it be that these beans are somehow more humid, causing the grounds to stick?

Or, on the flip side, is it an electrostatic charge issue? I was thinking of trying a spritz of water from a spray bottle, but I'm worried about the KINGrinder K2 burrs rusting. Is that a risk?

Thanks so much in advance for any help you can offer!

Cheers!

It is electrostatic charge most likely. A spritz of water shouldn’t do any harm. I used to grind espresso daily in a JMAX and always spritzed. Never an issue.

post above nailed it, but if you want to be really anal about it (me!) you can wipe down the chamber and bottom of the burr regularly to remove particles and oils - over time those are going to want to build up anyway, regardless of static.

How do you wipe down the chamber? I got some caked oils there but there is no way to disassemble the grinder completely so I can’t get to the actual chamber. I just clean the top and the bottom and the burr spring dial and catch cup.

I sometimes use those air puffers as a quick way to clear out the inside

And have a little brush for the bottom
