#Oracle Touch shuts off when portafilter inserted

Maybe it’s a ground fault? Does it trip a gfci outlet?
It could be.
I'm planning on buying it, so i can't test a gfci outlet. Im just trying to see whether its a known issue or i'm completely on my own to fix it 😄
Oh then yeah no idea; good luck!
This is still unsolved. I have bought the machine so i can provive more photos if anyone have an idea. I hear a small click coming from what i believe is a fuse box. When this happens, the machine shuts off and refuses to boot unless i remove portafilter.
Motor might be cooked on the grinder? I'm just throwing ideas out.
Is it just when it touches the grinder housing/sensors?
My guess would be some kind of short
Yes, when i twist it and a switch activates
So does it work as long as you don’t try and use the grinder?
Yes
For a temporary fix; you might be able to grind using the touchscreen to activate it. If that’s shuts it off it might be something weird.
It wont let me because portafilter needs to be installed
Would it normally automatically start once inserted?
It just randomly started shutting down one day
Based on this message it sounded like this only happens when you twist it to activate. I thought you could just place the portafilter without starting the grind?
It shuts down as i twist and the machine won't turn on as long as it's inserted. I located the click to come from a white box and i believe those are fuses
I’d dig around the settings to see if you can activate the grinder without the portafilter inserted.
Solved. I had to desolder a component on one of the boards. Feel free to reach out to me in private if you have the same problem.
I desoldered Q28 https://imgur.com/a/ZvxTIis and that alone fixed the issue.
You could also just snap it off if you don't have a soldering iron.
Machine has been going strong for almost 6 months now. No issue whatsoever.
