#Slayer Single Group: Scale or something else?

It’s a leak with ‘scale’ forming, sure.
Unless your water is completely demineralized, evaporating the water will leave all mineral behind, this is what you see and yeah is a sort of scale
The tube is hot, water evaporated when it gets out.
Sometimes this closes the hole
If that’s the case, you could consider leaving it.
You can also remove the tube, clean it off, and assemble it again but now sealed. Might be a bit hard to get to
Thanks. I suspect a small leak somewhere in the machine, but at the other side of the unit (left side), as I see a few drops coming out from underneath on the countertop.
I can turn the machine off, clean up that area and then tighten it. is there anything else I should buy to properly seal this area?
The leak is most definitely from that exact spot.
No, I often use a bit of grease (can really be anything, vaseline or whatever) on the place where the nut pushes on the flair or fitting, so it can rotate more freely and tighten easier.
thank you, i'll try this and report back. can you recommend me any particular non-abrasive chemical that can remove this scale?
maybe citric acid?
Id remove the tube from both sides, then clean it with a sponge physically.
Dumping it in citric acid / descaler would change the color of it, showing difference to the other tubes. Works too though, but becomes more pink/gold (when polished) colored
Got it, i'll just clean it with sponge, without citric acid and then add caseline around the fittings and tighten back up
i believe I have two leaks since the water is dripping underneath the unit on the other side of the machine.
Yeah not on the threads but like on the backside of the fitting when you slide the nut off
Could be, I’d first check all the silicone tubing (opv etc) and pre boiler loops. Most often drips from the steam / coffee boiler will evaporate too fast to create a liquid leak
yeah this is definitely leaking and i am wiping it up off the counter, directly underneath the machine (left side, front of machine)
