Minos brewer and adjustable negotiator tool. I have their pour over kettle so I was very happy to see the brand with a booth there. Two blue cups are just little demitasse cups/tasting cups, really like the color of it all. The dripper was pretty neat too so I picked it up pretty similar to area bottom.
I bought the 12 pack so I could freeze half a bag of whatever nice stuff I have at a time and use the rest as normal. They are meant for 20 grams but can handle 23-25 depending on bean

also pretty sure the mcu was fried the moment I plugged usb in because of the voltage issue (I think this is the case, but need to verify)

if your pc/mac isn't recognizing it, you gotta try the boot mode.

most common way to enter boot mode is holding down ESC key (or in this case, using a tweezer to actuate) and plug in usb-c
and run qmk software to see if it loads there
its getting 0 signal through, I hooked it up to rpi
the board has reset pins to short
its a more fundamental issue than boot mode I feel
it might be, but this is easy thing to check

Yup definitely have a few basic questions. I'm basically at a point where I've had some fun with my Profitec Go and looking to upgrade to something as reliable in the espresso department, but want something that'll give me an easier time for steaming.
I think my main question is how is the learning curve to the Decent? It's definitely geared more to the coffee geek and experimenter, which is where I want to be, but I'm afraid of messing up too much if it's not as user-friendly and intuitive for basic drinks and easy morning pulls.
I also exclusively like to make light roasts, but will need to go back and forth with medium roasts for the wife. I'm able to have a repeatable workflow on the Go, but wonder if it's any easier on the Decent?
Lastly, thoughts on the DE1Pro compared to the other offerings for a at-home use? Especially if there's anyone with actual experience with their MASHUP versions?

i have a DE1Pro right now, theres no learning curve if you want to pull a "stock" shot
it works exactly like any other modern spro machine - small preinfusion, pressure ramp to 9bar and goes down from there
i think the stock DE1 UI is not my favorite but the community around the other UI is pretty big and im using another one i like more.
you can have several shot profiles favorited for any drink you wanna milk - i always keep a default 9bar for milk/trad spro shots, but also have ULC, turbo, blooming, and filter3 as my other shots
the real key is dialing in beans/grind range so you know whats appropriate for each shot profile. also the Brew by Weight is clutch. Once you have that, its hard to want to manually stop a shot. The one thing the decent doesnt really have is great on the fly adjustments of a shot - it is possible but finnicky.

at the end of the day, no one likes being lied to, so its on consumers to pressure roasters and roasters will pressure producers to be more transparent about processing.

There's also a definite witch hunt happening where accusations are thrown without evidence, or accusations are made with supposed evidence which isn't ever shared publicly
if theres no transparency from producers then it forces consumers to speculate until someone does test for hard evidence. that has its own issues

I've talked to "serious" coffee shop owners who feel like better to not keep up with the trends and just be known for good coffee. No syrups, no cream tops, simple matcha (begrudgingly). And I kind of agree — I can sometimes unfairly judge a shop by how many sugar drinks they are pushing, even if their coffee is fantastic. But also, the economics are what they are. Small margins, etc.
yeah. its more like do you want to lean towards "commerical" success, or "artistic" success. ideally you can combine both. but that slice of the pie seems pretty small.
I always judge by their espresso. Espresso makes up 80% of the menu so they better have decent beans that are dialed. Maybe I'm old school though
