I donāt know how strict they are. The whole process is pretty basic. I did one on my secondary car yesterday. Took about ten minutes. They hook up the diagnostic cable to the cars computer, have you start it just grab a reading. The whole thing took like 10 minutes. I say just to go for it. Worst they can do is fail you and youāll have to do it again.
If you fail once they will get on your ass and make you test yearly.
Oh donāt listen to me then. Honestly I never really thought much about it. The car I have to smogtest is a hybrid and they usually chuckle when I bring it in.

You can't just directly compare the listed max batch size. And also they don't necessarily take the same time. The Roest is faster so ultimately it's only a small downgrade in capacity.

Comparing between air roasters is better.. but if you compare a drum to a fluid bed and only consider max batch size from the mfg it would seem more dramatic than it is in reality
Its not that much faster though. The stronghold isn't really a tradational drum. One of the draws is that its faster than tradational drum roasters with improved back to back ability.
I doubt it makes up for the batch limitation.

There might be other reasons though. I haven't really had hands on experience with the roest beyond their sample models. I'm sure he likes something else about it.

If one machine has 6kg capacity and takes 5 minutes to roast and 5 minutes to warm up. And another has 3kg and takes 5 to roast, 0 to warm. Then throughput is the same, despite half the capacity.
Also Feran states he was only doing 6kg, which is why is my point with batch size. You can't just take what the mfg says and compare. Most roasters can't max out their capacity
Thatās assuming you let the roaster cooldown all the way between roasts which Iām sure he doesnāt do š
And I assume at least 10% the listed capacity is the max batch size across all roasters

Hi, someone sent me a link to this. You're making a ton of assumptions here, friend. Yes, I do let the machine cool down fully between batches to ensure starting drum temps match. After the stronghold "upgrade" this year (hardware + software) this takes an excessively long time. 5-6 min between batches. It just does not shed heat readily. I've had to change my roasting approach (evident in 017 on) to account for this. So for an 8-9 min roast plus 5 min between batches... we are looking at, best case, 4.5ish roasts per hour, or a throughput of 27kg of green at 6kg batches.
On the p3000, it performs better with full capacity batches and is much more efficient with heat, we can use lower air temps and avoid heating the drum, requiring only 30-60s between batches. For a 6 min roast plus 1 min BBP, we're at 8.5 roast per hour, or about 26kg per hour.

Yeah, it's a foolish approach. For example: Diedrich IR-12 series. Ostensibly 12kg capacity but can't really do more than 7kg well, can't roast/cool simultaneously and the fastest sound BBP protocol is 7-8 minutes
A 9 min roast plus 7min BBP = 3.75 batches per hour = 26kg. Better off with Roest P3000

A solid tote bag is highly underrated our modref tote bags from a sample sale like 4 years ago are my go to for everyday carry. Long straps, deep tote interior, flat bottom with extra strong stitching. Itās a beast of a bag, nothing special design wise just quality workmanship.

I'd make sure to buy the insurance on the new tire you get. can't get it after, and if you're driving through areas with construction, you may be more likely to get flats.
I got a replacement tire, and immediately had it go flat with an unpatchable tear (ceramic mug handle jabbed through), and had to pay full price for another tire 
(replacement insurance is coded to the specific tire)

I think turkey is an underrated poultry and I wish it was easily accessible as a whole bird all year long
It was quite good! The right amount, maybe a touch light on smoke. The skin was perfect and crunchy. I'm nitpicky with my cooking so the thighs could have used a little more temp and the outer layer of the breast was a little dry.
I agree that turkey can be underrated. Lots of forums online, I got the feeling people were incapable of cooking it. It is difficult if you want ~175+ dark meat and 155 white meat.

I don't work in a commercial kitchen, but I think you can do it still. But you'd have to log temps and times and prove it in an audit? Idk if this thermometer is enough for commercial use, I think it actually might be
The predictions are done on a CPU inside the thermometer, which models the physics of temperature moving through the food. Which is really cool and requires zero input, but also is the weakest part of the product imo. Just an fyi

You could use only for up to 350F,the internal temperature is limited to 100C/212F, the battery kept draining itself and I had to replace my unit once because it wouldn't hold battery more than 10 minutes
