does the beans and roasters channel itself see enough traffic to justify two channels for discussion? I'm not sure it does.

I think beans and roasters gets as much as say... profiling/water-table/pourover
but i do agree trying to use it as a child of the beans-roasters is more difficult than it needs to be

I think BANA is better off as something for people to seek out on their own tbh. BANA knows what it likes and the conversations are geared towards that. It’s like a thread for fans of a specific team in a sports-discussion server. The opinions of those fans should not be considered the default, and the fans themselves know that, which is why they have created a separate thread. The server is meant to cater towards all kinds of coffee drinkers and discussions in BANA can feel pretty inaccessible/off putting for newcomers and users who don’t necessarily hold the same values.

(This is coming from someone who has thoroughly enjoyed the conversations happening on BANA)
