Hi folks, I have a eureka atom 75. I am changing the grind setting to fine from coarse, but the ground coffee still has the same level of coarseness. Elsewhere I have seen people recommend running the motor while changing the setting. What does this mean?

Run the grinder while adjusting finer.

That's what it means.

#

You don't want the grinds getting compacted between the burrs as this can stall the motor and cause damage

The ones I saw don’t move the dial while pulling the coffee

what do you mean?

#

just hit the button that starts the grinder and stick a bin or something under the chute while adjusting finer

I mean I have seen people move the dial a little bit and then get more ground coffee out

Could also be retention. Believe there's like 2 grams of retention on that grinder according to this online reviewer: https://www.espressooutlet.net/espresso-outlet-blog/eureka-atom-75-in-depth-review/

A few ways to solve this: one is to use a little rocket blower inside the little chute (this will require you to remove the hopper)
