hello, my name is slag and I would like to ask if anyone is kind enough to like explain to me how the process of releasing music works, I've done that before by dropping shit onto soundcloud and youtube and I felt like my projects were just rotting in the void cuz I simply just post it with a following of 0. I'm not expecting to get atleast 1k listens or anything but i'd like to know how other artists go about it and their ways of showing that you create art without it seeming like an annoying shill (or making tiktoks about your music, FUCK THAT I don't want my digital footprint to be tarnished by that sort of garbage). atm I'm sitting on a hardrive full of interesting projects and i'd like to go at it with more insight.

As far as what seems like a q about marketing that’s harder. Social media and like chat room/forum presence really helps. Playing shows helps too. There are tons of ways to get your stuff out there in front of other people

I realised it was hard, the most successful thing ATM is casually posting on Reddit cuz that seems to be natural, juggling between being authentic and not annoying is very arduous imo
