It’s a lot but TL;DR Just cus they’re a major name in hardcore right now they let it get to their head and act like they’re more influential than they really are like being a BIG hardcore band still means you’re at best a C list act. But they would use what little leverage they had to stiff bands out of money, break contracts, and threaten bands not cool with them to get them removed from their scenes. They wouldn’t even pay their tour drivers and had a manager before who was a well known ||sexual harasser||

Just throwing that out there for those who may be into their music. I never really cared for it

• I'd say I no longer recommend doing a base layer in black then multiple coats of your color of choice cus if you make it thinner with just your color of choice, they fade out really nicely over time. While the multiple layers method instead just cracks over time and I don't like the cracked look of those first patches I made

Something I find amazing about punk is how little someone’s financial situation matters. I know kids who go to shows who don’t know where they’re gonna sleep that night, I know kids who go to shows who have billionaire parents, and sometimes they’re the same kids. It’s about how you act and if you have money how you put it to use. Punk is something that transcends money, and that’s cool to see

This is why real ass venues let you in without paying if you ask. They know half of all mfs in that crowd are living on basically nothing or just like living on someone's couch. I love the idea of these mfers in punk bands from some rural town in fucking idk Iowa going on tour despite clearly not having this time off be paid at their job, so they're for certain going on tour at a loss, and just hoping to be crashing in someone's house at every stop and if that doesn't work they're sleeping in the car in some parking lot. All for the passion of playing punk

I think that's part of the appeal to me. I love the music for sure, but it is music and the message in its purest form, people yelling about what bothered them in life and led them to that place and doing it while sacrificing their finances knowing that punk will never make them financially stable

take it from someone who’s show and concert experience consists of. two concerts. and no local shows yet. (so with a grain of salt.)

just get lost in the music, don’t focus on what other people think of you. get warmed up for a bit and let it hype you up. that’s what happens for me (for example i get into the swing of things during the opening acts and by the time the main act comes on i’m fired up and exchanging smiles with the people next to me) but considering it’s a local show it’ll obviously go different. bottom line is to just not be too self conscious. relax, i guess.

i’m typically someone who avoids conversation at all costs, but because i love music so much it gets me really excited and really social. i stop caring about things like my social skills.

That as far as I'm aware is pop punk. Metalcore, often just known as hardcore, is more so bands like kaonashi, knocked loose, turnstile to name some of the bigger bands in it. The playlist I shared is hardcore punk, which is also hardcore but with a more classic punk influence from bands like discharge

@timber vector honestly, start from the roots. Listen to the debut of the Stooges, the Ramones, and (unfortunately, you must) the Sex Pistols. Then, honestly, begin looking at regional scenes (e.g., Calif., D.C., London), and see how they take the sound and make it their own; and then you can determine what you like and keep going down the rabbithole!

I'm not as much of a punk afficionado as a others, but this is how I've developed my love for the genre.

I'm still stuck in the eighties, personally.

i was lingering in this little area attached to the venue that sells paninis and shit and had a bunch of pinball machines (pic from that moment attached. like i took this a moment or two before this happened) after the set and she was there and i was like "oh, aren't you the lead of destiny bond?" she was like "yea" and i said that they were really good and that this was the first show id ever been to on my own. and that destiny bond specifically was recommended by an acquaintance who was like "if they're playing you gotta go" (:3333333) and we exchanged names and parted ways. it was just so nice and pretty much instantly killed any anxiety i had going into the show

It's ur personal preference. Dental floss is more of a punk tradition rather than something actually any better than thread but I'd recommend thin embroidery thread but floss is good

What's your idea of making crust shorts

While people will always do things differently, traditionally crust pants/shorts/skirt is something that has to be made organically. Grab a pair that you're super comfy wearing constantly cus you will need to wear them DAILY or as often as you can muster wearing them. Do not force it as in, do not just drag them through the dirt and tear holes into them yourself. Natural wear vs tears you made is super easy to tell the difference

The whole point of them is that you're taking clothes and wearing them until they can't be worn no more and reforming them to keep amkjng them wearable. They're meant to tell a story

The only times I've torn my crust pants myself was when they were getting too tight from all the patches so I tore open the knees for some looseness, and I chopped off the legs to add zippers to make them both shorts and pants

Depends on the fabric and how stingy you wanna be

I used to use canvas. Now I use denim cus I can just thrift an old pair of pants and tear it up for fabric

Fabric paint works best, is the most flexible and applies best onto the fabric and lasts longer. Regular acrylic fades quickly and cracks over time which, I mean, comes with its own form of character so that's whatever you'd prefer if the more faded look or more constantly crisp look

Sometimes I use old shirts just to add more texture with different fabrics. Specially if the shirt is like cream or pale yellow or beige like those colors develop nice crust as you wear them more as patches

But I'd use those sparingly

tbh they're all manageable except the lines on the piper stencil. those you might have to do by hand with a tiny brush/a needle tip

stenciling patches works best with thicker, more angular designs

like the bottom one and kfcmc are perfect for stenciling

cut up a pair of jeans for the denim and then used your method w the silhouette cutter machine

i think my coats of paint were too heavy but im using these cheap foam brushes so idk

the sticker paper i used stuck to the fabric too well

Then I guess that explains why they're so crisp cus cutting it out by hand with an exacto knife is tedious and it's hard to grt that much detail

Did you iron on the stencils like I say on the guide I have?

It should make the stencils more flush on the fabric

That + keep your coats thin like one thin coat at a time or ur soaking the stencil and causing it to bubble up and leak paint
