||one of the scariest parts about it is how in the midst of mourning a relationship the party in question stops being a person and starts being an idea. ive caught myself doing that a lot, like when im at my angriest and saddest and most scared thinking about the loss of someone's presence in my life i distill all their hopes and ambitions and perspective and agency to their symbolic significance in the narrative of my own life, like their whole personhood gets bottled into a paragraph or two in my own little sparknotes pamphlet, and its so fucking selfish and embarrassing. you dont think about all that when youre in the middle of it tho, youre emotions just smudge everything despite everything you know and value about being human||

Sh2 is such an interesting one to me because as I’ve gotten older I feel more and more strongly that james deserves the in water ending
||Harry’s made some fuckups here and there but his biggest thing was that he was just so full of an immense sadness that pushed Dora away. James Sunderland is a truly horrible human being. I think sh2 is a really good look into the mental barriers and self righteousness that shitty people put up to defend themselves post-death/post-breakup. ||
