Totally agree, which is why I was so disappointed Eternal didn’t have it. Not interested in the slayer vs. demons thing and that’s like only 3 players?!

Welcome to the big wizard doom guide for multiplayer doom using the odamex source port grill

Think of a source port like a console emulator, except unlike emulators there are many right answers to which source port you should pick (depending on what/how you want to play mostly).

The roms you load into these source ports are called WADs and they come in different shapes :

  • IWADs are the foundation for most other wads : basically they're the games (Doom, Doom 2, Heretic etc...)
  • PWADs (Patch WADs) are loaded after IWADs, they replace (or even add) about anything from sprites to sound effects to fonts etc...

Enough explanations though, let's get right into it os4lyfos4lyfos4lyf
You're gonna wanna download my multiplayer source-port of choice called Odamex right here (click the green button that says installer, not the blue one on the sliding banner that says download now (it leads to an outdated version)) then just install it normally... All you need should be checked by default...

After you installed it, run odalaunch.exe then go to the upper left corner of your screen into File > Settings > File Locations. Here you can add your WAD folder by simply clicking on the little white rectangle with a yellow flash in it and selecting the aforementioned WAD folder

If you don't have a WAD folder or simply no WADs at all,

P.S. : Odamex is mostly dead I cannot lie... It has an alternative with way more players called Zandronum but I don't like downloading 3 gazillions wads just to play on a single server so you're gonna have to do bear with it sorry mamamia
