#App Format: Reflexive, Desktop, Laptop, iPad, etc.

you mean this?
It seems like you are referring to a specific page or feature within Appsmith that might not be directly labeled as "App Format." Unfortunately, without more context or a clear description of what the "App Format" entails, it's challenging to provide a precise answer.
If you are looking for a way to format or style your app, you might want to explore the widget properties and styles available in Appsmith. Each widget has its own set of properties that you can adjust to change its appearance and behavior.
If you have a screenshot or more details about what you're trying to achieve, that would be helpful. Otherwise, please let me know if there are specific settings or features you are trying to access, and I'll do my best to guide you.

Yes... Canvas size is what I'm referring to. I can't seems to display that to choose from...
To change the canvas size in Appsmith, you can adjust the "Canvas Size" property, which is located in the left pane of the editor. You can select options like "Responsive" to make the canvas fill the available space on different screen sizes?5:1?discord-support-2.json?.
If you are unable to see the screen size icons (desktop, mobile, tab) to make your app responsive, ensure that you are in the correct view mode in the editor?5:16?discord-support-2.json?.
If you need further assistance or if this doesn't resolve your issue, please let me know!

I'm not seeing a Canvas Size property on the in the left pane of the editor.
When I switch to a page, in the right pane of the editor I see 'Properties' at the top of the pane, then nothing below it.
It seems like there might be an issue with the editor not displaying the properties correctly. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this:
-
Refresh the Page: Sometimes, simply refreshing the browser can resolve display issues.
-
Clear Cache: Clear your browser's cache and cookies, then try accessing the editor again.
-
Check Browser Compatibility: Ensure that you are using a supported browser. Appsmith works best on the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, and Edge.
-
Inspect Console for Errors: Open the browser's developer tools (usually by pressing F12 or right-clicking and selecting "Inspect") and check the console for any errors that might indicate what's going wrong.
-
Try a Different Browser: If possible, try accessing Appsmith from a different browser to see if the issue persists.
If none of these steps work, it might be a bug or a specific issue with your instance. In that case, please let me know, and I can assist you further.

This is not a huge deal, but I cannot control the widths of the fields in a form. They automatically expand to the width of the form if only one input is on a line. I assume I'm in the Responsive format. It is not worth my time to pursue this any further if there is no definitive answer to my issue. Thanks!
In Appsmith, form fields automatically expand to fill the available space in a form when using the responsive layout. Unfortunately, there isn't a direct way to set the width of form fields programmatically. However, you can try the following approaches:
-
Use Containers: Place your input fields inside a container widget. You can then adjust the container's width, which will indirectly control the width of the input fields.
-
Grid Layout: Use the grid layout to position multiple input fields on the same line. This can help in managing the space and appearance of the form fields.
-
Responsive Design: Ensure that your app is set to a responsive design mode, which might help in better managing the layout across different devices.
If these suggestions don't meet your needs, it might be a limitation of the current version of Appsmith. If you have further questions or need more assistance, feel free to ask!

I'm not familiar with a Grid Layout for a form. How do I do that?
In Appsmith, you can use the grid layout by leveraging the container widget to organize your form fields. Here's how you can do it:
-
Add a Container Widget: Drag and drop a container widget onto your canvas. This will act as a grid where you can place your form fields.
-
Place Form Fields Inside the Container: Drag your input widgets (e.g., text input, dropdowns) into the container. You can arrange them side by side to create a grid-like layout.
-
Adjust the Widths: You can manually adjust the width of each input field within the container by dragging the edges. This allows you to place multiple fields in a row, effectively creating a grid layout.
-
Responsive Design: Ensure that your container and widgets are set to responsive mode if you want them to adjust automatically based on the screen size.
This approach allows you to have more control over the layout of your form fields, making it easier to create a grid-like structure within your form?5:1?discord-support-2.json?. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask!

That's not working... I'll live with what I got... thanks!
If the grid layout approach isn't working as expected, it might be due to the limitations of the current version of Appsmith. If you decide to revisit this issue in the future or have any other questions, feel free to reach out. I'm here to help!

On my instance it appears on the right side panel when I don't have any widget selected on the page
it's not on a settings page
It sounds like you're referring to the global properties or settings for the page, which appear when no specific widget is selected. In Appsmith, when you deselect all widgets, the right-side panel should display properties related to the page itself, such as canvas size or layout settings.
If you're not seeing these options, try the following:
-
Deselect All Widgets: Click on an empty area of the canvas to ensure no widget is selected. This should bring up the page properties in the right panel.
-
Refresh the Editor: Sometimes, refreshing the page can help load the properties correctly.
-
Check for Errors: Use the browser's developer tools to check for any console errors that might indicate a problem with loading the properties.
If these steps don't resolve the issue, it might be a specific problem with your instance. Let me know if you need further assistance!

No widget selected.
It seems like you're trying to access the page properties when no widget is selected, but they aren't displaying as expected. Here are a few things you can try:
-
Ensure No Widgets are Selected: Click on an empty space on the canvas to ensure that no widgets are selected. This should bring up the page properties in the right panel.
-
Refresh the Page: Sometimes, refreshing the browser can help resolve display issues.
-
Clear Browser Cache: Clear your browser's cache and cookies, then try accessing the editor again.

Not to make it even more weird, but in another app in the same Appsmith instance
Not a show stopper, so not a huge deal, just weird.
Hello @fossil lintel did you previously switch to auto-layout? If that's the case, then you need to convert the app back to the "Fixed Layout", but the button to convert it does not appear because we have sunset the auto-layout feature.
To make that button show up again to convert the app to "Fixed Layout", please follow these steps:
- Duplicate this application as a precautionary step.
- In the duplicate, run the following in the browser?s console:
window.overrideFeatureFlag({ release_layout_conversion_enabled : true }) - When you click on the Canvas and no widgets are selected, you should see the conversion button in the panel on the right.
- Clicking on this will migrate your app to the Fixed layout. This could cause some layout shifts that you will have to manually fix, which is why we duplicated the app in step 1.
Let me know if this solves the issue for you.
