#Git pull failed due to timeout error
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
I've tried rebooting my PC as well and I can't fix the issue
It is a private repo so maybe that has something to do with it. But I am unsure as when I did git pull on a different repo earlier it just requested authentication
It also does the same thing on a repo I've already authenticated with
Have you tried do it with a public one?
I will attempt to do so right now
It does not give me an error when clicking the pull button
just doesn't do anything since I just cloned it
I assume the timeout error is for the login prompt that is probably needed.
if I open a powershell window and do "git pull" in the private one, it just says its already up to date and doesn't ask to authenticate.
On files it just errors
That probably sounds correct.
@wraith sky Should adding authentication support be apart of https://github.com/files-community/Files/issues/12561 or a separate issue?
Pulling shouldn't require authentication
At least on a public repo
I can repro on a private repo
Private repos do. They said it works fine for public ones.
This will be part of the other issue, it's already being worked on.
Ok that explains it
Just started using Files as a replacement to File Explorer so im trying to kinda figure stuff out lol
@woeful tartan This is my first day using the app. Please tell me how to log in to my git account on it. Many thanks
