Hello! We are looking to hire for a developer that is highly skilled in Directus for some consulting to help us with our app. It would be paid on an hourly or weekly basis depending on scope and availability. Is anyone available?

Here in Holland its common that businesses ask for it if you go and work for them, we have an app for takibg the picture to make sure that there is no fraud ect going to happen

But yes, most of the time you will have atleast a convo before sharing it

Same here! I also wouldn't be comfortable hiring somebody for a big project without some form of government ID or verification that the person is who they say they are 🙂

Just seems weird to do at the App stage before you have gotten anywhere. After an offer or close to it. That's different.

agreed 100%. (not saying this is the case) But its easy to post fake job postings and collect personal data that way. I understand your concern

I'd also argue demanding an applicants github link is a no no, they're most likely going to judge you if you have nothing on it or very few contributions, which is bad, as 9/10 times people don't have time to contribute on open source software etc. :/

Oh really? For hiring on core team members it has basically been my only requirement! If there's no code on there at all, I just have to assume it's all private and consider it not important

If there's a lot of stuff on there already, it makes for a great portfolio 🙂

yeah, I can understand that. but I know a lot of people that have been criticised on their lack of public/open source contributions when applying for a job. and the fact they marked the field as mandatory, gives me the impression they would do the same :/ but i could be wrong

I guess it also depends on where you're from. might not really be a thing in other countries etc. but i know for me, it would be a turn off when applying. so thought i'd give my 2 cents

The reason for ID was to ensure we know who we are talking to give we have had fake applications from devs before. I have removed requirement for ID for now to have a conversation first. Github is helpful but we don't judge solely on that. We have found someone but now just looking for some Directus support if anyone can help?
