Hello everyone, we are a bit at a loss. We are unfortunately still using Directus 8 and have performance problems that normal web hosting probably can't handle or it's because of Directus 8. How many users can Directus 8 basically handle (I am talking about peaks)? Are there any reliable numbers? Another question would be, can Directus 8 be hosted in the cloud and is there a chance that we will get more performance with that? The Directus Cloud hosting is probably only available for version 9, right? We run an e-learning platform with several 1000 members in a subscription model and recently started offering live streaming. The peak seems to be unable to handled by the system because the API calls are bringing the hosting package down and even a login isn't possible any more then (we are talking about a few 100 logins), but the server is not at full capacity at all. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

yes I know but until we can switch to 9 there is still a lot of work to do and I need a temporary fix until we can migrate to 9.

i would try to get more resources to the hosting

#

or try to find the bottleneck

#

if its the database, move it over to another server, if its directus, try multiple instances or more resources

the bottleneck are the API requests. Already with the login several endpoints creating API calls of several minutes with a certain amount of users logging in at the same time. The German provider can't help us. They say that the server is not on its limits and they have no further idea.

Does anybody know the real requirements for Directus 8 in terms of software and version?
