I was testing one of my AI prompts that generates Logseq notes for easy copy&paste and noticed that the #mail in there get's converted into [[mail]] even though I have a tag for that in my system.

Example of what I was pasting

Is that by design?

Yes, it is by design

Good to know, time to adjust the workflow to suit that.

We're still deciding on this one. We converted tags to references because previously, there was no support for inline tags, and tags were treated as "classes."
But now tags support inline, and we think they're more general and flexible than classes, which means they don't need to be changed when pasting text from other places.

Sorting out the various ways pages and tags and classes have worked over time and what that means:

A. [[page tags]] are #tags

B. #tags are classes

C. inline tags are not classes

I was just beginning to wrap my head around B, but this is the first time I've heard of C.

I guess my big question is: if inline tags are not classes are they the same as [[page tags]] or are they something new thing (which aren't clsses)?
