Using iOS 26 on iPhone 16

I have not got any results in Search Settings.

Only apps come up, so if I search for Settings like “Battery” for example, it will return no results.

I tried setting language, toggling all search suggestion settings both general ones and individual apps ones, restarting phone - basically everything i can find online to rebuild the index, except for what i wont do which is reset all settings, as I have configured this phone meticulously and that loss would be greater than this one.

Nothing is making it rebuild the index though so I cannot see any settings in search, which makes it very hard to use the phone. Can anyone help? Are Apple on with a definitive fix for this? I see many other users online have reported it. Thanks in Advance.

Hello there.. seems like it’s a bug. Is your iPhone up to date? iOS 26.5? Did you also try force restarting the iPhone instead of just restarting?

Yes its up to date and the restarting i have tried is the vol up down and hold combination to power off. Is there a better way?

Try going to update, select iOS public beta, wait 20 seconds, then off

Do you search that in the apps section or in the casual one?

I just open settings and type it in the search that appears there. I also try things like Find My etc and it only returns the app not the setting.

Try the language method. You said you tried, but did you try US to UK restart then UK to US restart? This drives iOS to rebuild the language and the search system

And btw. Apple representatives have reportedly told affected users that they are aware of the issue and a fix is being worked on, though it’s unclear whether it’ll land in a point release or a larger update. So a patch is coming — keeping iOS updated is your best bet until then.

Ill try again - i changed to US but didnt leave it for very long - how long should i leave it in US and then what else if anything?

Maybe they will release iOS 26.5.1 as some rumors say which will contain some bug fixes.. there’s a chance they will release bug fixes for what you describe

Great - ok now im in English US language and restarted - should i leave it in this for a set period of time before going back to English UK?

Your suggestion has fixed it - i don’t know what was different since i last rebuilt the index this way with language setting, maybe now I am on 26.5 it has done something different but either way amazing thanks man!
