Hello, im trying to download iOS 18.7.7 on my iPad 9th generation (currently on 18.7.2) but it keeps giving me this error when i do it through iTunes:
The iPad “Jacob's iPad” could not be updated. Declined to authorize this image on this device for this user.
and when i do it OTA, it fails to verify. anyone else experiencing this?

A few hours after iOS/iPadOS 18.7.7 released, Apple unsigned it. What that means is you're not allowed to upgrade/downgrade to it at this time.

thats the thing, im not trying to downgrade it, im trying to update it from 18.7.2, and it shows as an OTA update too, so shouldn't it be signed to update?
or is updating it also unsigned

If you cannot update to 18.7.7, the solution is to simply update to 26.4, which you honestly should really do anyway

True but this is a 9th gen which does support 26
so if 18.7.7 keeps failing may as well update to 26
