BootCamp on i5 MacBook Air 2018

hello everyone, i'm planning on repurposing my 2018 MacBook Air 1.6ghz Dual Core i5 to run Windows 10 or 11 now that i've upgraded to an M4 MBA. First of all, will it run ok? I'll mostly use it just to play around and use basic windows-exclusive software. Second of all, can I run Windows 11, or only Windows 10? Thanks in advance!!

Bootcamp only supports windows 10 too iirc

Yeah. Windows 11 might also work but it's gonna run rather poorly

plus, the first retail Apple Silicon Mac came out before Windows 11 released so I don't think they'd bother with 11 on bootcamp too much

Windows 10 runs okay. Windows 11 can also be installed but it would run rather poorly so I'd recommend Windows 10

I used to run Windows 11 on my workstation. It ran fine in 2023/2024 but after 24H2 it all went to shit

Windows 10 ESUs are a thing.

But if OP must run 11 for some reason then I'd just get a better machine to run it on tbh
