#Liquid glass edge highlights stuck at wrong angle

I'm on an iPhone 12, which has the static highlights instead of dynamic.
At some point after switching from landscape back to portrait, they got stuck at this weird angle where the 2 side edges are highlighted. It's been like this for a couple weeks now. Normally the top left and bottom right corners should be highlighted, as seen in the last image.
I've already tried restarting normally and a hard reset (vol up, vol down, hold side button)

this issue is driving me mad and it feels like i'm the only one with it lol

everywhere i look says "well the 12 doesnt have dynamic highlights" I KNOW mine are just stuck weird
