Which mac should i get

So, I have been looking at MacBooks, and I am pretty sure I want the MacBook Air M3. I would also like 512GB of SSD, but the thing is, I don’t know if 8GB of RAM is enough.

A MacBook Air with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD is 8,500 DKK (1,174 USD), whereas the same MacBook with 16GB of RAM and 512GB SSD is 11,200 DKK (1,548 USD). So, it's 400 USD more expensive for just 8GB of extra RAM.

I really want to know if 8GB is enough. I will be using it for schoolwork (around college level), watching movies, and maybe some very, very light gaming (like Minecraft level intensity).

So, what should I do?

Most sellers have adapted to apple’s new base configuration with 16GB of RAM, you likely won’t find 8GB options nearly as much at this point

I have that same laptop at 256/16 and I love it

is 256gb enough? because the 256/16 is the same price as the 8/512

and the only reason the 8/512 is so ''cheap'' (comparatively) is because they are selling all their stock of the 8gb version

I can’t really make that decision for you.. I use a mix of cloud storage and external thumb drives for storage, so 256 for me is plenty

I have ~100GB free on my internal SSD right now because all my large files go elsewhere

if all i need to do is have some school programs, word and powerpoint would 256 be enough?

I'd recommend going for 16GB. 8GB is a bit too small nowadays.

Especially with Apple Intelligence.
