#I don't know if the MacBook Air (M3) is good for me!

Currently I have a PC with the specs below (32g ram, Intel Core i5, 1T storage) and I don't know if I'd be underwealmed if I bought the base model MacBook Air M3. I want a way to do basic video editing for youtube on the go but if my experience would be MUCH worse than using my PC, I don't want to waste $1500 (cad). Anyone know how a base MacBook Air M3 would compare to my PC for youtube editing and maybe basic recording? (also would it be able to handle editing down a decently long youtube VOD?)(editing on capcut)

The M3 chip has some insane efficiency

Even the base model MacBook Air M3? The upgrades are so pricey!

Yeah, macOS is exceptionally good at managing resources

OK thanks! I'll look more into it. Last time I got scared by all the options and quit looking altogether!

Would anyone recommend the upgrade to 512gb storage. I'm pretty good at deleting files and keeping everything clean but obviously you can't upgrade the MacBook later and most things keep getting bigger and bigger in gb size.

are these the only three options or are they more customizable? I don't really care to pay for the extra 2 GPU cores but the extra storage would be nice! Paying more than a dollar per gigabyte is kinda crazy though!

oh never mind, they give you the "free gift" of the extra cores when you get upgraded space

Is final cut pro the same price if you buy it later or do I need to get it pre-installed? Right now I'm paying for capcut premium monthly and don't want to fully commit to a new service but if it would save me a worth amount of money, I could get it Final cut pre-installed for $400 cad
