Hey all. I recently went to a tech shop to look-see the computers they had. While i was chatting, they brought up that they had to repair a lot of iMac 24". I have a iMac personally, but i was thinking to switch to a MBA after buying it as im still used to the portability of the MBA.

However, would the MBA be a better choice? I rarely push the iMac to the limit, but tasks that my M1 Pro MBP could handle (10 safari tabs) makes the M4 freak out. Should i return the iMac? thanks in advance.

Hi there, hmm it would seem like your best choice atm would be switching to the MBA , the performance difference would be really crazy tbh , but for your current needs though the MBA can handle those tasks, i own a MBA m2 base, and i have more then 30 safari tabs and 10 other tabs each on other browser, and its handling it fine, + other applications opened. it all still depends on your specific needs though, but from the tsks you mentioned, the MBA can handle it and besides you get portability too and and you dont have to deal with a stationery setup .

but then again the imac has to support the huge screen. so maybe the CPU has to get hotter.
