-# Context: I recently found my aunt's ancient old iPad 3 in the closet and got its battery repaired for a lot of memories. While it's still at the repair center, I've just figured out that it can no longer connect to the internet. A few days ago, the repair center sent an image to me showing that the iPad can't connect to Apple ID server to log out and it also doesn't show up on Apple Find My. My grandfather also had an iPad 3, and after 2019 I and my brother also couldn't get it connect to the internet. I just found out that because of the 2019 GPS rollover that affected everything today. More information about the 2019 GPS rollover patch is in the image below
As the iPad can no longer go online (for now, because of the rollover), how do I update it to iOS 9.3.6 for the patch?

Try updating it with a computer

Learn how to update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to the latest version of iOS or iPadOS using your computer.
iOS 9 is known to have many serious bugs and I'm kinda worried if my data will corrupt after updating because I'm gonna use the new Apple Devices app instead of the old iTunes one
Try creating a backup before updating with devices app
if you just want the photos, you can connect a computer and copy the photos over
