Hi guys, I currently have a 256GB iPhone 11 Pro with 84% battery health and I am looking to upgrade. I do not have a massive budget and I will have to be trading in the 11 Pro. Here are some options I was considering.

  • iPhone 14 128GB which is R16,499 (rand) which is $942 (I know prices are mad here)
  • iPhone 14 Plus 128gb OR iPhone 15 128gb - both are R18,999 which is $1085.

I only use 64GB out of 256GB so a 128GB phone will be fine.
The prices in my country (South Africa) are mad wild for tech products.

My other option would be to replace the battery in my iPhone 11 Pro and carry on going for another year. The 11 Pro works fine for me, its just iOS 18 has made it a bit worse. Would you also suggest I go back to iOS 17.7.1 or stick it out on iOS 18.

Thanks.

# rose hound Hi guys, I currently have a 256GB iPhone 11 Pro with 84% battery health and I am...

If you want a ton of battery life: 14 plus (I would personally go 15 over 14 plus since they’re the same price but your choice)

If you want something more affordable with a rly good amount of power: 14

Even more power and battery life: 15

Downgrade to 17.7.1: fine if ur fine not getting the latest features

Keep on iOS 18: might kill the battery, but if you replace the battery, it might improve battery life but it might be slow considering the 11 is 5 yrs old running iOS 18, which is known to be a heavy update

Thanks for the update, to be honest, I am not a super power heavy user, I mean I used an iPhone 6 until 2022, I only used to use it for calls and texts, I use it more now but I dont game or anything, I mostly message, call, email take photos and it works for me. I am pretty sure by like iOS 18.3 it should have smoothed out a little. I think that you have made some really good points here. If you were me, what would you do?
