What even is the need for all these bots
Yo what the fuck...
It literally sends in a gallery type of form why is it excessive wtf?
Okay so here are the pics with the thing
It also comes with a charger and cable included
Is it worth the pricetag? What can i make out based on the pictures?
its for the sake of preventing spam/scam bots
In this day and age, you really want to get something with apple sillicon...
But for 200 bucks, this isn't a bad deal per se
that doesn't look bad, but the fact it's an intel turns me away
but again, it's 200 bucks

Ye, that's chromebook prices
i was initially wanting a 2020 m1 but i'm not an expert ICL

All i want it is for work, online lessons, a decent camera, light stuff
I was also thinking since it's so cheap
You don't get expandable ram/storage either cause it's apple lol
i'd be able to use it for maybe 1-2 years, and then resell it?
Cant i buy extra icloud storage?
Maybe get a used thinkpad instead?!
What are thinkpads?
windows machines made by lenovo
Ah no
That's what I would do tbh, those things are built like tanks and will last longer than this macbook
Kind of the main reason i want a macbook is because it's a macbook so yeah
Ah, welp... can't stop you if you're so keen on MacOS
if it's just for light tasks, it'll manage just fine
Yeah , i want to have soemthing that works with my iphone and airpods aswell
because i do have a windows PC - but it doesn't work with my apple apps like calendar, reminders. i mean - i do have the icloud website app shortcut but it just sucks
Notes aswell
Sadly can't relate, all my tech are from different brands
Yeah i see
i would suggest looking into potentially finding an m1 machine before you lock in on this purchase
Hm alright
Well haha when i first saw this i was like it had to be fake because where i live there's people selling 2015 macbooks for more
It's mainly because of where i live, eastern europe. So it's a struggle out here. But another thing is that i can buy stuff from abroad because of my work and i was thinking of buying a macbook or ordering one through one of my clients from the US for cheaper , but the only way id be able to do that is by waiting until february which seemed quite annoying
It'll be hard finding a cheap macbook with M series chip
since that's what EVERYONE wants
By the way
kinda like how the newer ipad pros are all crazy expensive
because they all use M chips, and the generational difference isn't that massive
hm alright
but the jump from intel to apple sillicon is night and day
why though
i dont know a lot about apple
no i mean
macbooks sorry
yeah sadly where i live, from certified stores the cheapest macbook you can get is a m1 2020 for 900 usd
thats also 13 inches only
think of it like this, the m series chips are essentially their own chips that they're able to squeeze the most power out of while remaining power efficient, meaning that they dont have the intel generation issues like overheating or thermal throttling, as well as increased performance in certain scenarios
Yeah i see
I think the efficiency upgrade is the most significant
^^
i guess if im buying a newer model ill want to use it for atleast like 4-5 years, would a macbook m1 2020 be realistic in that situation
yep
ah really that's cool then
The chip power draw is substancially lower than anything from its era
still holds up remarkably well today
haha i dont really know much about chips or hardware but i'll trust your word and go for m1 atleast
are there any 2021 macbooks by the way
can confirm, i still use my m1 machine on the daily
or did apple not release macbooks in 2021
there's the 2021 m1 macbook pro
ye, those come with the m1 pro/m1 max
thats about it tho for 2021
Okay so i wanted to ask this since im a very big noob but
too expensive and unecessary for your use cases
Although i know the base difference, whats really the thing when it comes to choosing between pro and air
a fan
or was it two fans...
i think it was two
those are quite literally the same thing kinda
the pros have a beefed up chip compared to the air sooooo

thermal throttling has always been the issue with the MB air, not the chip
fr? I thought they used the same chips, at least for base config
what are pros made for? like, rendering i think it is?
don't people use PCs for that
nope, air has the standard chip while the pro has the pro variant
for "pro" users... though at this point it's insignificant unless you are dealing with very demanding workloads
but like, M3 MB air is the same chip as M3 MBP no?
Thanks so i guess pro makes no sense then
So i'll only be looking at air
And since the 2022 air m2 seems out of my reach i guess the only real option i have is the 2020 m1
i have a question, does size matter?
yes
did they change it since the m2 gen? let me check hold on
other than the extra screen size, you get a beefier battery and also a bigger cooling system
though don't expect the tiny heatsink to do that much for any sustained loads
yeah you're right the base is the m3 chip
ye? I think
the air has 13 and 15, the pro has 14 and 16
I don't know that much about macbooks tbh
ah wow i just used my ruler
13 inches is kind of small
let me compare it to another laptop actually
i have the 13 inch m1 air and i find it good enough for my use
