MacBook won’t load anything

Ive tried to, you just hold shift when starting up the laptop right?

it booted into safe mode I logged in and it’s still stuck with the blank screen

that’s after I put in my password to log into the account

Might have to try to reset the nvram have you done that already?

Shut down your Mac, then turn it back on and then immediately and I mean immediately press

Option Command P R

Eg Option + Command + P + R
Hold for about let’s say 10 seconds or 15 tops then let go

I’ve tried it just keeps loading right into the login screen and nothings chsnging

@flat thunder Are you able to open a app via Spotlight search, if you can try to open settings

See if "Hide Dock" and "Hide Menu Bar" are enabled for some reason

Nope, normally my desktop would have the Lunar client and discord application showing and a weather widget but neither those the settings on the top or the dock are showing

Hm, so do you have a backup of your Mac on a external drive?

Nope this all happened last night I went to update my Mac to Sequoia and for some reason when it restarted it’s been doing this

That's very odd, not something I've ever seen personally.

Do you have any important files on the drive?

or is most things in iCloud Drive?

Nah mostly just screenshots and what not but nothing I can’t live without

But I think most the important things are already on the iCloud

Would you be open to reinstalling macOS then?

Enter recovery mode and then reinstall

Shut down your Mac
Turn it back on, holding Command R
From there reinstall macOS

ok so i just reinstalled the sonoma version of macos so for now its working thank you though
