either way i was thinking of fixing this iphone and getting the new one and giving it to a family member but it does seem out that the battery is so low already

If you are in the budget I would recommend upgrading your phone to maybe baseline 16 unless you want above. But if not in the budget I’d just buy a new battery personally.
